It´s an awesome version of tetris. It would have a four player multiplayer mode in the typical way.
You can play both modern and classic tetris.
Campaign is fun, multiplayer everyone is multiverses ahead of you.

I’ve been a fan of Tetris Effect since its initial PS4 release back in 2018, and I was thrilled to see it arrive on Steam! The game takes the iconic Tetris gameplay and transforms it into an entirely new experience with stunning visuals, a gorgeous soundtrack, and an overall sense of immersion that makes every match feel like an artistic journey.

Zone attack battle is one the most high octane multiplayer experiences you can have! Non-stop high stakes action.
The single player is really relaxing and good chillout time too
this game makes me feel like i have died and came back to life but like in a good way. i love playing tetris in the sky with birds. really expensive though, get it on sale, i don't think it's completely worth all 40 bucks
This really is the pinnacle of Tetris, it is a masterful combination of visual and audio complimenting the raw feeling of playing Tetris. Since it was released on Gameboy in 1989 I have played so many iterations of the game and this is one of the few situations that make me ask "how could it get better than this?" outside of some tweaks to the online functionality I could not point to anything I would change. 10/10
$40 seems kinda crazy but obviously everything goes on sale all the time. I was skeptical about how good a tetris game could be but I get it now.
One of the best ways to play Tetris on PC. 3.5 years after release, it still has an active online community.

TETRIS is one of my All-time Favourite games, but this Artsy Love Letter to the Classic is Just a Wonder to Behold... from Beautifully Music Progressing Gameplay Sound Effects to Lovely Animated and Distinctive Backgrounds and Game Tile Blocks, this is A Masterpiece of a Game.

If you enjoyed Tetris growing up. and would like those nostalgic feelings with a great new format. as well as fun new game modes. I would highly, highly, recommend this game. Honestly one of the most polished games I have ever played!
It is a very well done modernization of the game. The music and coordination is great, settings interestingly work together and modes are fun. Only big note I have is the color and strobe sensitivity warning is one you should pay attention to if you have those issues. It can get pretty flashy at times and the brightness alternates heavily so be careful.
This game is like tripping on drugs, but way better. The visuals are the main attraction and ive got to say they are superb. The songs are glorious and the gameplay is snappy and smooth. A 10/10 experience, albeit a little pricy for a tetris game. I dont even play tetris a whole lot and yet i can confidently say that this game might be the tetris game to get me invested. Whether youve never ever played tetris, or are a veteran of the game, you will very much like this
Bought this to play couch coop.
During coop there is only one song that plays over and over again and it's awful.
This would have been a refund but I left it running too long before I found this out.

gorillas in ranked play ragequitting when they lose gg, nulling the match. Thumbs down because when even the max ranked players are dcing clearly there are no jannies to sweep up the place.

This is the perfect reimagination for Tetris. The game at it's core is the same, but now with breathtaking visuals and music. It will connect to you at a deep level. It really shows a lot of dedication was put into this game.

Like most Enhance games, its a light show. A ridiculously addictive light show.

But the price. I thought oh cool, maybe this will be something epic, some additional games play, some type of cool spin on it. No. I'm 2 hours in and its Its music. And Tetris. That's it.

Signed up to play Tetris, but the Journey mode got me feeling like I'm playing the victim.
Okay, I never claimed to be good at Tetris, and there are some game modes that are just about relaxing and focusing, which is kind of the vibe I was looking for. Good game.
Tried a dozen different fixes and I still couldn't get the game to run in SteamVR mode without crashing before even getting to the main menu.

This is the best TETRIS I've ever TETRIS in my entier TETRIS proffesional career playing TETRIS, and I'm a TETRIS expert so I know a good TETRIS when I TETRIS.
Very beautiful graphics and audio, strongly reccomended for anyone who likes puzzle games or tetris in general.
This game is amazing. It's the best Tetris game I have ever played, quite easily. The gameplay has been enhanced exactly the right amount, and the soundtrack/score is the best soundtrack I've ever encountered in a game, easily.
The main two things they have done with the gameplay that make it superior to most other versions of tetris are these:
1. You can store a piece if you don't want to use it right now. You can later bring it out (and store the currently falling piece) when you need it. Great for saving lines but also saving messes, etc.
2. The pieces are "shuffled in a bag" and selected rather than being purely random. Another way of saying it is that they fall in sets of 7 rather than perfectly randomly, so that a line (or any other piece) can never be more than 14 pieces away from the current drop. This allows for better planning and a higher level of strategy than original tetris.
3. The soundtrack is worth mentioning again. It makes sound effects as you move and place pieces that fit perfectly in with the music. All the music is original to this game, and they are all masterpieces, and so well integrated into the gamplay that it almost feels like a rhythm game.
If you like tetris, this really is just a must-have. Buy it. Stop reading reviews, just get it.

The visuals, music and gameplay are legendary. The variety of game modes is pretty cool, Connected mode is my favorite out of all. Would really recommend getting this game :3
Playing this got me to browse YouTube to see what other Tetris games exist, and there's something telling about the fact that for all other versions before and after this one, they either look like an abstract toy, something else popular or whatever is trendy in the current era. There's no sense of aesthetics or taste, no developer truly asked how playing their version of Tetris should make people feel or what they should experience with it. They default to "toy, time waster, popular", with some exceptions for enthusiasts and competitive play.
It's such an outdated notion of what a puzzle game should or can be too, we're way past the era of puzzle games being more than "just" abstract toys (Portal, The Talos Principle, Lumines), and at least for me personally while I have enjoyed playing Tetris in the past, just the abstract puzzle itself isn't enough to get my attention. And this developer gets it, their history speaks for themselves and this game rules, it's the best Tetris game ever made and that will probably be made for many years to come.
They have mastered the art of synaesthesia, and the way they translate player inputs and gameplay into evocative audio-visual reactions that feel emotional and invigorating makes for something far more than just the abstract puzzle it usually is. There's a lot of different themes and vibes you can choose from and there's so many modes with entirely unique themes and ways to play the game that you'll likely find a way to play Tetris you like better than the original (my favourite is Connected Vs and Purify).
Ill keep dreaming for a PC port of Lumines Electronic Symphony, but until that happens this is the best you can get, nothing gets close.
PS: As of November 2024 you can still get online games thanks to cross-play, though you'll have to be a little patent to be matched with someone.

For those who enjoy puzzles and Tetris in general, and a psychedelic experience, this is game for you. Thrown right into the digital fire, this game will awaken parts of your brain that had previously lie dormant. You'll come away with a penchant for problem solving and a strange desire to organize everything in your house. That, by definition, is the Tetris Effect.
Such a nice, relaxing game, perfect to play while listening to podcasts. Multiplayer is straightforward and easy to follow. Community is very active and you get a match in little to no time. It's the same old Tetris, but with multiple features that make it all the more fun. Highly recommended.
The only downside is that sometimes during matchmaking the connection gets lost every once in a while, but this rarely happens, so do not let it deter you.
This is an all time great Tetris game.
While giving you everything you could want from a Tetris game, Tetris Effect goes beyond in VR. The normal Tetris experience has been ruined because playing this game in VR is insane and so immersive it almost breaks your brain the first time you see it.

Do you enjoy taking mushrooms? The VR elements in this game are a perfect way to get from eating mushrooms to feeling them. Great music, and visuals.
This game made me realize - I'm over games that obscure what's going on in the game as a difficulty mechanic. There's so much going on in this game that isn't Tetris that it gets frustrating pretty quickly. I pine for the simplicity and difficulty of the original Tetris (which is why bought this) but this is much more akin to Lumines on the PSP where tripping balls and failing because of it seems to be the point.
It's a pretty sick game, it's really relaxing. I wish more people played the online mode, because sometimes you'll be waiting forever for online opponents. But the game itself is pretty great. I wish I could turn off some of the "spark" effects when I complete lines, though. It's too bright. It's not the cheapest version of Tetris on the market, but it's one of the better ones.

I got motion sick as soon as I saw the start screen. I entered 3-5 levels and everything MOVES. Background, the tetris bricks, just everything. I couldn't play it without getting nauseous. I am happy Steam took the game back after I just played 20plus minutes.
Other than that I can say that this game really stressed me. Everything moves, makes a sound and vibrates. It's a total sensory overkill. I can not recommend at all, even though I love Tetris x(
literally booted it up, did a marathon and then every subsequent bootup resulted in a crash
