Mountains of Madness is a new adventure game in the Chronicle of Innsmouth franchise. Set 10 years before the first chapter of this saga, these events will influence the events to come. Travel to ancient Yemen, playing in the role of the Mad Arab Abdul Alhazred, author of the Necronomicon, and step into the shoes of HP Lovecraft and guide him to unveil the mysteries of his bloodline.

This is bad. Far worse than its predecessor. It is technically glitchy (trying to run the game in full-screen forced me to restart my system a couple of times), the art is bad, the animations and perspective are bad. The story is bad, leaping you around between characters willy-nilly with no payoff, and there is a tremendous amount of straight info-dumping. The voice-acting is bad, with actors messing up the inflection of basic idioms, mispronouncing names of places, and no characters ever seem to be credibly speaking to each other.
Dull, nonsensical, and it might bork your video card.
Neither story nor gameplay are particularly interesting.
Too many infodumps and all the interesting parts are happening in the cutscenes.
Also the dialogues which take a large part of the game are not the best.
It's really sad so many people have bug problem, becaouse without them it's really cool game :)
Like others have said in their reviews, the game is not playable after the first few scenes of the tutorial. You go from camp to the cave, but after the discovery, the screen goes black and you cannot progress. Seems this has been an issue for a subset of the purchasers (though not all) for the last three years :( If you can get the game to work, it seems ok
a very solid Lovecraft inspired point and click adventure game, this is a prequel to the devs first game. although this is way darker and grittier then the first one . Great pixel art, story/characters and music .Its fully voiced and you get to play as multiple characters as well i really liked the group dynamic between the main character the author and scientist guy that join up with him. there is some great comic book style art cut scenes.
Good point and click adventure game set in the cthulhu mythos. I really enjoyed the first one and this is a good follow up. It's story is bigger and grandiose, which suits a sequel but I liked the more nuanced story in the first one. Worth getting.
