Great 3rd person moba but needs time to develop cooler features.
KEEP YOUR MONEY SPEND IT IN THE REAL WORLD.
Absolutely love this game it is in a much better place now
TRASH RANK MODE, the people alway stand afk or play as fkn faggots, the matchmaking is unreal and the heroes are fkn rutted and broke and others are useless. TRASHGAME. EVEN THE ITEMS ARE TRASH
fun game with friends
Great game!!
God I love this game.
I really missed Paragon and this is literally that but better. Yeah, I miss the old card system but I've put in enough time of the game to get a grasp of the item shop and its a much healthier format for a MOBA.
Can't wait for Wukong to comeback and for the new original heros to be added, if you haven't played Paragon and are looking for a fun MOBA to get into I think this game is for you (although don't expect your teammates to have any brains!).
10/10, see you in the jungle :)
This game makes me happy.
I played the original Paragon before it was shut down and I'm super happy that this is back up. My friends and family have been back on, and it's been a really awesome experience.
I hope a lot of people get on and support the game, because it feels like the original, and I imagine it's only going to continue to get better.
This game deserves praise and all the hard work put into it. It is very fun to play and it addresses many things that OG paragon lacked.
tldr game is dog and will be dead in less than 6 months, lol Overprime died for this
- game is dog and clunky,
- top 100 full of hidden mmr abusers,
- balance in this game does not exist,
- devs/testers literally spam broken items and abuse mechanics to stay in top 500-100
- revamped and reworked kits for OG heros that are clunky (you literally cant flash and gideon portal, list is endless )
- devs idea of balancing is removing items from the game or removing passives completely
- the testers playing the game handing over gameplay and balance decisions are brain damaged (Seismic XDDDD)
- playerbase is nonexistent largest players it ever had was 5k when PTO died and they payed Summit1g to stream it LMFAO
- skins and cosmetics are the most predatory ive ever seen, people said PTO's were bad, enjoy 50$ for a skin bundle
- graphically looks like it was made in 2016 and this engine makes me believe it
- spam reports get you autobanned/automuted I could literally unbind chat for 5 games and still get muted
- game was gonna get shutdown (500 players 2 years ago) but pto died first so they kept servers up
- 0 MARKETING WHATSOEVER LITERALLY ITS JUST A CASH GRAB LMFAO PAYING STREAMERS TO PLAY ISNT MARKETING
+ alot of PTO players so atleast (some) normal humans in ranked
+ howi got a cigar
+ skeleton gideon
these are literally the only positives i could think of. games dog and i hope robbie goes completely bankrupt for this horrific attempt of a moba
no wards? no problem
Great game let down by a needlessly toxic and sweaty player base.
Matchmaking is awful, console bots ruining every match. Also how tf can people in paragon rank even play against people with no rank at all? Wtf is this
Great game, with excellent graphics and game-play. I've played since Paragon and am relieved to see Omeda is staying closer to that original path. Whenever I get a little bored of a character, just picking up someone new and learning their kit and strategies helps keep the game fresh.
My hope is for continued diversity of new characters, match styles, and ways to earn skins, etc. The rank system does need more fine tuning, it hurts my head to be gold II and sometimes having what feels like very new to clueless teammates.
a bit hard to get good at for a minute, but it's worth it. if you know how to play mobas, then you'll do better. similar to smite with an awesome look and feel
Of course if you were a Paragon enjoyer this is a no brainer. For those just looking for a MOBA, lovely map with verticality, fun heroes an abilities, and a nice sense of combining some shooter aspects into the MOBA gameplay.
Developers destroyed this game by allowing console players to play it. Low numbers on PC? Not a problem, i prefer to wait 15 minutes to play a good match than to play 3 bad matches in a row due to console players or bad matchmaking.
If Paragon died, stop trying, if it doesn't have a player base, stop trying, it will never work, and you are just destroying PC player experience. Match making is extremely bad, how can you allow silver players to play alongside Platinum in Ranked?? I could write an essay longer than my graduation exam on how this game is bad. And it all comes down to one thing and one thing only, low player count. Let this game die, or focus on Platforms separately.
The game is getting somewhere and I can smell what Pred is cooking! Great job to the Omeda team. True display of hardwork, resilience, and dedication. I bought the Legendary bundle early access a few years ago because I believed in the game and vision. I did not like the state of the game back then, so I did not play at all. However, now, after the huge update, I can say that the Omeda team have been cooking and it's spicy.
This game has so many flaws that it is incredible that it is still going! It has an extremely low player base, which means your matches are extremely lopsided and unbalanced. Not only that, the game does a horrible job at putting you with other players with the same experience level as you. The updates to this game are far and few between, and when there is an update, it barely has any new content! There are several bugs and quality of life problems that the devs refuse to fix! Not only that, the CEO is in denial with how poorly the game is doing popularity wise! I've wasted too much time waiting for this game to be good, which is why there are so few players! They don't want to wait months and even years before this game gets has any viability!
As someone who thoroughly enjoyed Paragon when it was still around I can say that this satisfies that 3rd person moba itch I've had since it disappeared. It's nice to be able to see characters from that universe utilizing the same assets as well as new characters that are original to this game. Worth trying if you like 3rd person visually intensive games or mobas or both.
Let me start off by saying I'm not a moba player, and never have been. Paragon this games predecessor(ha see what I did there...anyway) Was my first moba and none of the ones I tried(hots, LoL, smite) could get me the highs I would get on paragon. However predecessor does it for me, I'm not sure if its a combo of old characters that I used to love from paragon, or the changes that they've made to the kits to make them enjoyable. Whether its going into a huge combo in a team fight, helping a lane get back into the game and that lane helping a teamfight in a crucial moment, predecessor will always have me coming back to play at least one game. This game is a moba so you will run into people who turn it into not a great time, but i feel like thats most mobas, its not most of the people, just a few. The amount of time I've gotten since the launch of EA 2 years ago should show you this game has gotten updates and changes, yes it's been slow, yes it's probably not changing as fast as I had hoped, but in the end it has been worth it for me, and it being free I see no reason for people to not try it. Just hop into brawl to learn the basics and then you'll be ready for standard!
This game is great, if you play with friends or solo against AI. Can't get better if no one will tell you what you're doing wrong.
Paragon is back :) The shop is quite overpriced though. If you enjoy basic skins go try Pred out.
Ill start off by saying i enjoy the core game and i just spent 50$ so i have the right to do this
The voting system is absolute dog shit 4 can vote yes to a surrender and 1 person can vote no and everyone is forced to keep playing a unwinnable game beyond retarded and makes absoulutey 0 sense to cater to the minority.
Make a hotkey for team comms playing a minigame to do call outs is so bad i play on a mini keyboard and have to use mouse for call outs and the callout tab moves everytime you click wtf is that??? Devs troiling? How does that make the game more accessible???
Another minor gripe timed exclusive skins are stupid and hurts the overhead. fix the first two issues and i will change my review to a thumbs up.
I really enjoy this MOBA reminds me of OG Paragon but more balance doesn't mean is perfect but for a Free to play and 3rd person MOBA is a Great Experience, need some improvement on banning Toxic player and helping new people to get a better tutorial.
Doesn't hurt to try!
Overall is 7.5/10
Remember Paragon? The game Epic abandoned as soon as they started raking in the Fortnite bucks? This is it back and even better this time with developers that care!
Super fun game. Hope new players will find this gem. Have been enjoying this far more than Smite / League. Biggest issue is low playerbase so ranked games are not as balanced as they should. Too many leaves / afk.
A good successor of Paragon that is evolving. It's a fresh take on MOBAs that I would recommend everyone try.
Overall great game!, very close to what Paragon was.
One change they need to add is the way to save custom decks for different characters. Searching for a card or reading while in game is a waste of time.
Fortunatelly not all MOBA's have to be from the helicopter view and just measuring your APM.
If you ever played Paragon back in the day or Fault, you'll know what you get. Except this time with really really good balance and active work to reduce the toxicity in the community.
I love this, even i suck at this!

Round length
Anything between 20 and 50 minutes excluding surrenders and absurd exceptions

Gameplay mechanics & UI
★★★★☆ (Excellent- a decent roster of heroes (currently 40) with distinct mechanics to learn and master ; outstanding round pacing ; great balance between teamwork and individual player agency in defining the outcome of each match with great comeback mechanics ; items make and break heroes and their usability in different roles and situations ; an all-round extremely fun experience ; UI is mostly awesome but some details need more love ; lack of in-game item presets is inexcusable at this point of development)

Visual presentation
★★★☆☆ (Good - a detailed map that's nice to look at ; some unique and memorable character designs, default skins and otherwise ; textures, particle effects and lighting are up to par with offerings from the last 5 years ; not much to write home about, overall)

Sound
★★★☆☆ (Good - surprisingly great directional sound ; intuitive audio cues provide support to the UI, adding to the gameplay experience - though these still need improvement ; gotta love how voice quips give heroes lots of personality)

Gameplay loop & Variation
★★★★☆ (Excellent - 2 main game modes (Brawl and Standard) with ranked mode available for Standard, although - inexplicably - not for 24 hours ; Predecessor doesn't quite make it easy to naturally unlock new heroes like in other hero/champion based games, so the player's experience may vary depending on how many and which characters they have unlocked - especially if you're interested in playing ranked mode ; waiting times between matches vary wildly depending on mode and time of the day - you may be locked in queue for over 5 minutes at a time, but seemingly and usually, crossplay has a hand in making it so that waiting times are on the lower side ; gameplay elements make it so each match plays completely different and in 75% of the matches nothing is set in stone until 1-3 minutes from its end - this makes Predecessor feel like that much more of a puzzle and also more forgiving of mistakes, adding to its addiction factor and further distancing the Predecessor experience from previous attempts in the Paragon universe. This feels like a key aspect in Predecessor's success so far)

Monetization
★★★★☆ (Excellent - F2P with weekly character rotation ; option to buy packages that unlock champions and provide premium currency, with frequent sales ; premium currency available for purchasing cosmetic items and champions ; option to unlock champions through gameplay, although the somewhat heavy grind more than justifies investing a bit of money into the game if you plan on sticking to it ; several very cool looking skins are event exclusive, while purchasable options are generally lacking in quantity and awesomeness - it feels like Omeda City is struggling to find its stride in the cosmetics side of business)

Optimization & Stability
★★★☆☆ (Good - about 4 CTD within 75 hours of playing the game ; outstanding optimization where frames are concerned even on high graphics settings - although certain heroes will drop your frames more than I'd prefer during teamfights ; very light on the system ; some stuttering at the beginning of rounds whose origin I haven't been able to pinpoint just yet)

Lore
★★☆☆☆ (Poor - character bios are not made available in-game ; potential lore related content known to have been created in the past for the Paragon universe is completely left out where the overall feel of the game could benefit from its inclusion)

Overall
3.3/5
Although Predecessor plays better than past Paragon iterations, there's still plenty of work to be done until it feels like the premium experience it has the right to be.
really want 3v3 like in smite or some thing that i could have 1 or 2 friend and not have to hope to get 2 or 3 randy for the 5v5 that might work well with us
Decently balanced, but the community is filled with people that will go 0/1 and then go afk.
Old time paragon player recommend this if you like to have a fun time.
Good character balance and animation
The company keeps making wrong moves on characters and game modes, instead on focusing on quality of life much needed changes and improvements. This game has been one of my favorites for the longest but with the current changes I can't recommend this game to a casual player or even friends. Even I have lost interest in playing this game after the latest update. They will take their Holiday break and leave the game broken to come back and find a very low amount of players to potentially close the game once again before releasing newer content. I hope I'm wrong, but I really don't see this game going large.
unworked on trash game full of brain dead degenerate players who dont know what a MOBA is. go play deadlock
Absolutely horrendous updates, garbage community, & the company has ignored my emails. Don't expect to have ANY kind of response from them. Worst "customer service" (if i could even call it that) I have EVER experienced. Save your time & money and don't get this game.
it's like a 3rd grader got access to the paragon files and doesn't understand the definition of balancing i don't think it could get worse
I'm a put no, purely for optimization reasons even being free. It's an online pvp game, it needs to run smooth! Fix it please.
I've been a supporter of Omeda for a long time. When this game first came out it was rough yeah, but was fun, enjoyable, the community was great. Game ran smoothly for me, now a few years later and it seems to have gotten worse. Game has lost its soul and became the typical moba style game. Store is a bit expensive, not well optimized at all, community has gotten a bit worse, not horrible. But it just doesn't feel like it did with the heart of the devs anymore. Now it's just put champs out, make it fancy looking, and ask for cash.
Having spent over 211 hours in Predecessor, I can confidently say that this game has brought me back to the heart of what makes MOBA games so addicting. The blend of classic gameplay elements and modern improvements has made it an incredibly satisfying experience.
Graphics & Design:
The visuals in Predecessor are gorgeous. The environments are detailed, the heroes are well-designed, and the animations are smooth. It strikes a great balance between nostalgia for the old-school Paragon feel and modern MOBA aesthetics. The map layout feels intuitive, and each area offers something unique to explore, whether it's jungle dynamics or the thrill of a late-game team fight.
Gameplay & Balance:
As someone who's invested countless hours, I can safely say the gameplay is both strategic and rewarding. The hero roster, with their diverse abilities, ensures that every match feels fresh. The game feels skill-based without relying too much on pay-to-win mechanics, which is a huge win. The developers have done a fantastic job with balance – even after 211 hours, I still find new strategies to experiment with.
Community & Matchmaking:
The community has grown a lot since I first started, and I've found most players to be competitive yet respectful. The matchmaking system has been continually improving, with fewer instances of unfair team compositions. It’s definitely not perfect, but with each update, things keep getting better.
Longevity:
For a game I've played for over 200 hours, it’s a testament to Predecessor’s replayability. There’s always something new to learn, whether it’s refining my hero skills or adapting to the ever-evolving meta. The constant updates, tweaks to the balance, and new content keep the game feeling fresh.
Overall:
If you’re looking for a true MOBA experience that blends classic gameplay with modern design, Predecessor is one of the best out there. With solid gameplay mechanics, a dedicated dev team, and a growing community, it’s easy to see why I’ve sunk so many hours into this game. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a challenging, team-based experience!
Game is a lot of fun, graphics are great. There good amount of Heroes to chose from. The Devs care about there game and community and strive to keep the Heroes as balanced as possible and when a new char is op they will patch as many times in a quick time spam to fix the balance. They add new items map changes modes at a fair pase. Wish they would add battle pass to earn skins or a ranked Skin system like other game do something to keep there a reason to keep playing and grinding. And that is the biggest problem for me the lack of a reason to keep playing i already have ever char that comes out and most of there affinity's that there just is not a reason to keep grinding outside of character levels. Game is fun to play solo or with Friend highly recommend playing!
1. I miss Paragon, for one not being able to chat or even type def makes this game worthless. I mean yeah it kills toxicity for sure but there are a ton of people who have no idea wtf they are doing on this game so it doesnt help.
2. I miss all the different build styles they had in Paragon for instance Khimera had a life steal build that I used but also edited to my liking more but def kicked some ass way more than the builds they have now. And since the store seems way more of a pain to search through it makes custom building take to long. Why not allow for people to go into the character menu and save prebuilds in the menu like Smite does?
3. It also does not feel like the game is balanced as far as match making goes but I hear it is because this game has no player base. I feel like I should give up and uninstall. I was a founder of Paragon but this game just feels like it wishes it could be something that it will never become.
4. If anyone would like to prove me wrong then feel free to add me and join me for some games and show me this thing is not dead and is still worth playing.
I enjoy Predecessor, but I cannot overstate how many players you will run into that simply go AFK, throw games, or constantly complain all match simply because something didn't go their way.
To all the people who are reading this thinking "Oh, every MOBA has this problem, it's nothing new." - Yes, you are right, every MOBA does have this problem, it's the nature of the genre sadly. BUT, I kid you not, no other MOBA has had such a horrendous community playing it. There is no possible way that I can consistently get these experiences daily and just say "Oh, it's bad luck". No, if it is a daily occurrence from me attempting to play, that is a sign that the playerbase is in shambles and not worth fighting through.
Anecdotally, from my side, I did not have this problem with the playerbase before Predecessor launched Free-To-Play. For those who are unaware, this game had a CLOSED period where only players who paid can play. It was a rare occurrence to get players who simply threw games during this closed paid period. But now, it is truly every other game that someone on my team decides to throw a tantrum and quit, or try extremely hard to feed the enemy team, or type their heart out of pure rage. All I can do is speculate as to why this is the case and I hope for players who pick up the game, that you get a much better experience than I did.
I will still play the game in spurts, as the core game does have merit to it, but it cannot be labeled as a "main game" for me anymore.
Matchmaking is terrible. MMR system is extremely flawed, some times you as a gold or plat player can be matched with a bronze 3 players with 5 ranked games total, some times you as a full plat team can face a full paragon team.
There is no penalties for being extremely toxic, trolling, feeding or just ruining everyone elses time.
Devs doesn't listen to community feedback, they do not promote the game to gain more players just uses whatever money they have to make skins absolutely no one is looking for.
There is no anticheat, people streaming playing with walls and not getting banned until it was made public via a youtube video.
There is no insentive to keep playing, there is no battlepass, no daily login. There is only the same amount of champions that Paragon made (Less) back in the day aside from the one they made themselves which is skylar.
74 hours in and this game fucks me harder than my wife
10/10 experience
なぜこれをグーグルで検索するのですか、このクソオタク
after playing over 1000 hours in this game i can tell you it sucks and so does matchmaking im quitting for good .... do not recommend
Good Game ,just a litle rough around the edges
but selling skins for such a ridicoulous price is a robbery when in fact the skins are from a open source asset published by epic games. they couldve made the skins so you earn them in game instead of charging ur players such a ridicule amount of money for work that you didnt put in. im trying to look at the game from a positive angle but some balancing is so rough all around also the matchmaking can be incredibly frustrating sometimes (40% of the time).
