Story

Geographically, Pakistan as a nation was divided into West and East Pakistan (today known as Bangladesh). Since its inception, only West Pakistan controlled the country's military, policy making, and economy. East Pakistan was merely treated as its colony. This created a rift that resulted in conflict of interests between leaders of both regions.
1970 was the year of political tensions between East and West Pakistan. Later that year, Awami League of East Pakistan led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman won the first democratic election of Pakistan. Despite gaining majority the League was not invited by the ruling military junta to form a government. The atrocities by the Armed Forces from West Pakistan against the people of East Pakistan kept increasing which led to civil unrest and genocide in the East.
By end of April 1971, millions of refugees started coming into India from East Pakistan causing diplomatic tensions in the Indian subcontinent. India decided to act on it and determined to liberate East Pakistan (Bangladesh) as an independent country. On 3rd of December 1971, Pakistan Air Force carried out pre-emptive attacks on northern Indian air bases. The war officially started on all fronts.
The Indian Navy carried out missions and created a Naval Blockade in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. The famed aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy INS Vikrant with her task force and air squadrons conducted lot of Maritime Interdiction Operations and sorties to completely paralyze the enemy in the East. The Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy targeted the Naval and commercial HQ of Pakistan in Karachi and conducted Operation Trident and Python. Many other events took place in both Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.
On 16th December 1971, Pakistan eventually signed the Instrument of Surrender and Bangladesh was declared an independent country. The scale of naval operations during 1971 war is considered to be the biggest since WWII.

1971: Indian Naval Front will enable you to experience pretty much all the Indian Navy operations executed during the 1971 War.

If this had an alternate title, it would be "Battlestations: Jai Hind" -- plays very much like the Battlestations series. Most of the game is spent from the perspective of a destroyer engaged with other surface targets. Strange interludes break the destroyer focused campaign, along with a "Beach Head" type defense shooting segment occurring once.

The Seahawk helicopter's controls lack stabilization and will be the greatest challenge in this title. Thankfully, there are only two missions that require it, and one in which requires deployment of torpedoes against one target.

In writing, I'd sort of laugh and smile as it gets the tone of the mockeries of Hindutvas on X in the Israeli situation correctly or in the right spirit. Europeans cannot contort the language adequately to capture this essence as was done in 1971: Indian Naval Front. For example: "Excellent job gentlemen, you have released a proper video game of great importance!" See? I cannot pull it off as authentic.

Kissinger to Nixon: “They are superb flatterers, Mr. President. They are masters at flattery. They are masters at subtle flattery. That’s how they survived 600 years. They suck up — their great skill is to suck up to people in key positions.” You will see and experience this throughout the dialogue, though I assure you the feelings held against the UK and US are equal in how Henry and D1ck [censored] felt about Indira.

Negative aspects include 3D assets bumping and jumping around defying physics. Lighting provided by the engine does not look well on some of the surfaces of textures either. Half-Life sounds are pilfered throughout the title. Damage modeling and kinetic weapons do not have a satisfying effects. Many *ping* *pang* and *pew* from 40mm Bofors...

The game made me explore the historical events of 1971 naval war. What i learnt that this war was one of the biggest after World War 2 from the perspective of naval battle. Overall gameplay felt smooth. Flying jets was fun but choppers had a level of difficulty which i managed to clear after couple of attempts. The voice narration sounded good as well as the missions in the game were challenging. Still half way to the game which gives overall a unique experience.

Game has really good mechanism, all controls are really smooth and easy to get comfortable with.
Game play Experience is also very smooth and interesting.
Story and Layout is also really good, can indulge you in the game.
Dialogues are so realistic that you will get full vibe of war and make you feel like a soldier fighting their from the battleship or piloting the Jet.
          Graphics are also nice.

I'll suggest to complete the whole game, it is really interesting.

Had tried out the Demo of this game a few months ago. The ship movement was fine but the Jet flight mechanics and weapon selection technique in ships were a couple of things that pushed me away from making a purchase then. But I have been following these guys and the dev updates they have been posting on Reddit and elsewhere. Tried out their latest test flight demo last week and glad to know that my complaints with jet flying have been fixed. The Patch notes also claimed to simplify ship weapon selection and firing. Decided to buy the game now that it's on discount and I am indeed having a good time with it so far. Flying the chopper in the second level was quite challenging but I managed to complete it and now on the 3rd level. The buoyancy on ships looks good too. All in all, I am having a good time with this game.

As a long time fan of war games, I just learnt about this game and was super thrilled to try it out. It delights me to see games from Indian Devs based on Indian war history. Very rare to find. Having said that, I will also say that I have played the first level and enjoyed it thoroughly. Make no mistake, it's not an easy game. The Jet has a learning curve but if you played Ace Combat, the jet mechanics here will feel familiar. Sounds can be improved, however. I am now on Level 2 and learning to fly the chopper. Training levels would have been great but at least they have recorded training videos. Hope, they update the game with some hand-held training levels in the future.

I wish I could recommend it but it's badly made. Controls are terrible, mouse and keyboard only. Interesting variety of planes and ships is ruined by lack of realism or correct physics. Good audio, good graphics, poor gameplay. I've waited for this for a long time and was disappointed. I hope it'll be updated at some point and I'll be able to reconsider.

very well-made game, honestly, even the missions are a bit advanced and don't offer the same replayability feature

1971: Indian Naval Front is a strategy game that immerses players in the 1970s confrontation between India and Pakistan. The game takes a unique approach to the fight by focusing on the naval component of the conflict, allowing players to explore the challenges and opportunities that come with commanding a fleet of ships in the Indian Ocean.

The attention to detail that the developers have put into 1971: Indian Naval Front is one of the first things that stands out. From the realistic ship designs to the historically accurate battle scenarios, it is evident that a great deal of work was put into providing players with an interesting experience. The game play is difficult but rewarding, requiring players to carefully manage their fleet, plan their attacks, and respond fast to changing situations. The graphics are excellent, with the ocean and ship models in particular standing out. The sound design is specifically amazing, with a compelling soundtrack and realistic sound effects that contribute to the immersion.

Overall, 1971: Indian Naval Front is a fantastic game for anyone interested in naval combat or the history of the Indian-Pakistani struggle. It is a well-designed and interesting game that provides a fresh take on a topic that is sometimes forgotten in popular media. 1971: Indian Naval Front is a must-play if you enjoy strategy games, naval combat, or history in general.

Playing a game set in the Indian war is a refreshing change from the repetitive WW1 and WW2 games. It provided valuable insights into the 1971 India-Pakistan war, particularly the naval front. I particularly appreciated the use of real footage and pictures in the Prologue and conclusion, which added an authentic and raw touch.

The mission briefing effectively delivers all the necessary information for the current mission, including details about the units involved. However, I found the aircraft controls to be frustrating and cumbersome. While they resemble those in the Battlefield game, which worked well for dogfights. However, the initial encounters in 1971: Indian Naval Front involved aircraft and ships. And it is very frustrating to shoot the ships with the aircraft. Because of the controls, I often ended up doing kamikaze attacks instead of accurately targeting the ships. Introducing controller support would greatly alleviate this frustration and enhance the overall enjoyment of the game.

The limitation to 30 FPS is a significant drawback, as it would be fantastic to witness the beautiful explosions in 60 FPS. Speaking of which, the explosions in this game are truly impressive.

All things considered, the game is enjoyable and worth the price. I eagerly anticipate the addition of multiplayer mode in the future.

A proper war game from and for India! Based on one of the forgotten theatres of war in Indian history, the game will throw you into the throes of battle and force you to master your skills, an art long gone in games now. If you are a history buff and a fan of war games in general, I would definitely recommend you check this out.

I recently played 1971: Indian Naval Front and wanted to provide my honest feedback. The game provided a unique and engaging experience that showcased Indian naval history in an interesting way. The graphics and sound design were quite impressive, and the story line was compelling and kept me engaged throughout. Also, I have seen some gamer dislike the mouse control concept for the aircraft in the below comments. However, I fascinate this concept as the mouse controls were also used in Battlefield. Although the mouse controls are very difficult while flying the chopper. The game play felt a bit clunky and I think it because of 30 FPS capping, especially during some of the more action-packed sequences. Furthermore, the game could benefit from some additional features and improvements, such as adding intensive music during the battles, proper chopper control key bindings and adding controller support that is must for the war simulation games. Overall, I think the game has a lot of potential and could be improved with some additional polish and attention to detail and I am eagerly waiting for the developers to patch the above issues as I want to explore more in the game play. Kudos to the Indie Devs for making this beautiful Indian war game and with a few improvements this game can be best Indian War ever. Also I look forward for the Multiplayer experience when the it releases. Cheers..!!!!!

1971 Indian Naval Front is a good adition by indie developers to the world of strategic naval combat as well as historical combat. As an avid fan of historical war games, I was immediately drawn to the unique setting of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.
Below are my observation regarding this game.
          Pros:
Players will have to navigate the Indian Ocean and engage in battles with enemy ships, submarines, and aircraft to protect the Indian coastline and secure victory for their country.
Having monochrome intro for give a retro feel to the title and feels like we are back to 70's.
Also, having Hawker Seahawk jet and other weapons details on the loading screen gives us historical information about weapons used in 1971's war.
The gameplay is challenging, but also rewarding, as players will have to think strategically to outmaneuver and outgun their opponents.
Also had a hard time while decoding the Morse code with in the time limit(it was challenging and Fun).
          Cons
Steep Learning Curve: The game's complexity can make it challenging for newcomers to jump in and start playing.
          Choppers are hard to control.
No controller support(It will become a pro for the title if there is controller support for the title)

          Pros:

          1. The Historical Accuracy- Focusing on the other aspects, the game does not deviate from the actual history and stick to it. Which is the first reason I got hooked to the game. The feeling of experiencing the battles that took place during the Indo-Pak war of 1971 is very realistic. Cheers to the creators for actually making it possible.
          2. The Graphics- While playing the game, it does come to notice that the creators have really put a lot of work into this. From the designs of the Jets, Choppers, Ships to the overall graphics just keeps on adding up to the experience.
          3. Promised Multiplayer mode- The promise of an upcoming multiplayer would surely gets me excited for a revisit in the future. Would love to see where the game leads to once it is out.

          Cons:

          1. The FPS- The game runs consistently on a 30 FPS. I played it on a 3060ti and V-sync disabled, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware issue, rather the game itself.
          2. The controls- The game has a very 'Battlefield'ish control style which I do feel could be a bit more like 'Ace Combat' which would suit the overall aesthetic of the game.
          3. [*] No Soundtrack- With all the combat and battle experience, the SFX feels a bit incomplete. It's not bad but a soundtrack does make game-play very interesting at times. A bad-ass soundtrack could really amplify the thrill of going on a battle.

          In my opinion...

1971: Indian Navel Front grabs my attention as it focuses on a chapter from the Indian history 'The Indo-Pak war of 1971'. The game does not deviate from the actual history and the cut-scenes and the dialogues do help in explaining it very well. The gameplay itself does feel very 'Warthunder/Battlefield'ish which just meets my expectations from the screenshots on the Store page. I really like the 'Battlefield'ish type of control style in the aviation combats, but it does feel a bit off and sloppy sometimes. I really appreciate the passion that the creators have for the game and hope to see some improvements soon. I look forward for the Multiplayer experience when it releases. Cheers!!!

Have been following this game for over 2 years and have witnessed tremendous improvement over the years. My experience with the game goes as follows:
Well done graphics, one of the finest from Indian games.
Level design has a lot of variety, each level has a different set of mechanics and a surprise element.
Controls of jets and choppers have a learning curve, something similar to Battlefield games. From the community post I learnt the devs are planning to add controller support which will definitely improve the experience.
Intriguing story - a not so told story in the form of a naval game which is great. Eagerly waiting for the multiplayer version.
Gameplay is engaging with some areas having scope of improvement.
The historical accuracy in loading screens and videos are great, enjoyed watching it.
Overall a well developed game and worth the price.

In my opinion, 1971: Indian Naval Front is a well-designed vehicular combat game that provides a unique and historical perspective on naval combat. The graphics and attention to detail in the game are amazing, and the historical realism adds credibility to the experience. Also, multiplayer is about to be implemented, which makes me excited to play with my friends or battle with opponents. However, it's worth noting that the game has received some criticism for having bugs, glitches, menus that don't work properly, and FPS that is limited to 30FPS. Overall, kudos to the makers for putting in the effort to create a game like this; if you enjoy games of this genre and are interested in naval combat, 1971: Indian Naval Front is definitely worth exploring.

I think this game needs a lot more work. The frame of a good game is here. There is alot of passion put into this and I like that. However the flight physics leave a lot to be improved. For 1 thing the plane can turn way to fast and drag has no effect on it. Its like flying a space craft. I am willing to revisit this game in a year or 6 months to see if has improved but until then keep working. Its a good start.

This game doesn't even try pretending to be realistic. If you are interested in a history of conflict or like casual arcades - get it. Otherwise stay away. Controls, physics, weaponry - everything is highly imaginary.

Well, this ain't the German or the Ruskies, nor the Yanks, or the Chinese; this is a war that I do not recall ever being modeled in a naval sim before, and it's a very welcome addition. The early version does not have single missions (yet) and forces you into a very structured campaign. You cannot proceed until you complete the mission objective. The planes and helo controls are keyboard, but the devs say they will add joystick support, which will really improve the feel of controlling aircraft. The game environment is nice, with authentic sounding crew and radio messages, mist at night, and ship wakes -- all provide a good atmosphere.

The first four or five mission have a nice variety! First person control of scout and fighter planes, helos inspecting cargo ships for contraband, rescuing commandos, hunting a Tench class submarine. Very enjoyable so far, can't wait to see the devs add single missions, joystick support, and multiplayer. Pretty cool game!
