About the Game
Classified Stories: The Tome of Myrkah is a 1-2 hours micro-adventure and the first title in a series of first-person puzzle and adventure video games that follow the adventures of Jim Morrison, a private investigator living in Boston, Massachusetts. It's 1979, and a curious letter finds its way on your office desk - an old and almost-forgotten friend writes to you asking for one last favor, begging for your help.
The writing betrays a sense of urgency, as many of the sentences are scribbled through bulbous stains of ink. Be it due to your inner sense of duty, or old-time camaraderie, you decide to meet your friend at his farm, someplace far away from the busy streets of Boston. What do you not know, though, is that this singular decision will forever blur the line between what you once considered real and what you simply disregarded as fiction.
Your old friend awaits you at the farm.

uhhhhhhhhhh not terrible... but where's the rest of it?
I played both this and Color out of Space back-to-back, both of these are short but very fun games. I hope they make another one because I will definitely pick it up. Great Lovecraft style with some fun simple combat and good atmosphere. I recommend both games if you are curious. You can customize KB\M, there is no FOV slider but the default was good for a 32” 2K Monitor.
Buy it and play it
Optimization is really horrible. i7 + 1050 4gb barely run this game on medium with 25-30 fps. Stealth and action / puzzle mechanics are also kind of boring. I guess atmosphere is fine, but overall I'm not sure why would you play this.
Sure, why not? A simple Lovecraftian game. It checks all of the boxes. Picture this as sort of a "side-mission" if you will, in a game like The Sinking City, or Call of Cthulhu. Not to jab at the developers or anything. I love any Lovecraft themed game that pops up now and again, and this is worth the small price tag.
It's not bad. It's a bit overpriced for what it is, even when I picked it up on sale during the winter sale for just shy of 5 euro. It's just barely over a hour of gameplay, and what you get for that is a competently put together house with many locked rooms and boxes, that you need to explore, find items, and unlock bit by bit. They're also included combat which I'm not entirely sure about - there's one time of imp that comes at you sporadically through portals and you shoot them with a pistol until they fall down. It's not revolutionary stuff, it's just there.
There's a few other oddities, like once where I got stuck for a bit because a door wouldn't open even though I had gotten all the pieces of the door key puzzle to open, so I did another full loop of the house until I realised that to open the door I had to press use on the door, and not on the giant lock in the middle. It wasn't intuitive at all.
Also I couldn't get over how quiet everything was. As you explored the house it was deathly silent. And not in an atmospheric point of view, it was just absent any form of audio at all.
So overall, recommended on sale.
This is a beautiful little game. It is short indeed (it took me 2.8 hours to clock) but unlike many short indie games it runs very well and looks great. The artists attention to detail is very pleasing to the eye and though it's built with unity it looks very much like they used the unreal engine. I really enjoyed the graphics. I'm a crap reviewer and am terrible at describing games but I was compelled to say something at least so...yeah, if you like good, short indie spooky games give it a go.
Game itself is not bad. Lacks atmosphere elements like ambient sounds and/or any gameplay music, but it's otherwise a decent environment.
But, it screwed me by storing saved files in a central place, NOT in context of the user account. SO, when another user on the same computer (with a totally separate windows profile) started a new game, mine got reset their progress.
Now, I have 3 options:
1. Play again from the beginning.
2. Find a similar-progress save file somewhere (cuz backups aren't auto-stored stored, sadly)
3. Play something else.. (I'm leaning towards this option)
Over all this is a good game. I wish in the house in the basement there were more health bottles. I may have spent about 30 mins saving every few seconds because one hit I was dead. What a pain. The gun was to loud. Really no need for that. I give this game a 8/10
It's just a game of find-the-hidden-item. Unlock the next door, find what's hidden there, use that to unlock the next door and so on, and so on. Lots of cupboard combing and lots of easily missed details.
The game was short but I had fun playing it. I liked the atmosphere and found it enjoyable to walk around, solve the puzzles and take down the occasional monster. I think the tensionate moments were handled well.
The graphics are fine; the lack of voices/music made the experience feel a bit dry. Also, I would have liked more info when examining objects.
Early in the game I encountered two blocking bugs which required me to restart the game from the beginning; I contacted the dev and he was quite helpful and quick to fix them (actually one was already fixed).
Overall I liked the game and i`d say that (surprisingly) it`s atmosphere reminded me of certain moments from Half-Life.
It was short and the graphics are below par but it was good either way
Classified Stories: The Tome of Myrkah, has catched my interest since it is the same type of game I'm creating right now and especially since it comes from a fellow Romanian game developer.
***
Short version: It was OK, properly executed (I understand) by a single person. Often games like this tend to promise a lot and deliver nothing, but this is not the case. The trailers and screenshots are exactly representative of the game: modest, simple, classic I would say. Deserves your attention if you want to enjoy a short dark experience with some Lovecraftian mood.
***
Long version:
While everything was ok, if you are a pretentious horror fan, the game will probably not impress you. The writing is again OK, but there's nothing special about it. It feels rather a cliché story about a detective who is called by a former colleague at his farm after his daughter vanishes.
After looking around your office (not a very good looking one in comparison with the other locations), you take your gun and leave towards the farm.
As expected, the farm is deserted and your friend and his daughter are nowhere to be found. There are here and there Puzzles reminding me of Resident Evil, having the same quality: not difficult, just a few items that need to be placed somewhere to open a door, etc.
At some point, a monster shows up trough a portal, and here is where the Lovecraftian elements start showing up.
In my opinion, the shooting and the few times a monsters shows up is just "to be" in the game. There isn't anything challenging or frightening about them.
One thing I appreciated was the attention to details for the books. Usually game developers add books in their games just as props with no particular interest on the titles. Here I was particularly pleased to discover some titles about ancient history which I really appreciated.
The game at some point introduces you into a fantastic realm inspired by Lovecraft's writings, where you get a hold of the Tome of Myrkha (if I'm not wrong) and you have to interact with some ethereal symbols. For me, this was rather confusing.
The most difficult part for me was actually the final boss (Guess it was Cthulhu) where I had no idea what I had to do.
After watching a gameplay video of that, I finally managed to beat the boss and finish the game.
Everything takes around an hour and for how short the game is, it is acceptable and understandable the fact that it doesn't shine in all it's aspects.
I always thought that it is very difficult to make a good horror game in a Lovecraftian universe since Lovecraft himself wasn't the best writer out there. This endeavor requires a talented artist/writer. But enough rambling.

The game deserves your try. Buy and play if you like the trailer and the screenshots.
:)
Congratulations to the developer!
(and sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker)
Nice little game for the asked price. Nothing new or very special, just nice enough for about 1,5-3 hours of gameplay. It's the usual run around and search everything, solve some puzzles, shoot some monsters, get some story. Nice designed environment, story is the standard lovecraftian stuff, was ok. And, can you even imagine: IT HAS MANUAL SAVING!!! In 2021, when 95% of games don't give a damn about when YOU would like to save - this game does!! Yes, you've read correctly. You can save whenever you want to. THANKS, thanks, thanks for that!!!
Really nice game. I like the atmosphere. The puzzles are good even though I had to search for some items a little bit more than I wanted 😅
Very good game.I like the gameplay, sound, story, and quality.
The puzzles are hard and well made for this mystery story
Detective noire story, with lot of mystery and suspense, dark and a bit scary mood. A descent in occult and paranormal with cool puzzles and an escape room flavor. Can't wait to see more of the classified stories!
Classified Stories: The Tome of Myrkah plays like a bare bones version of Resident Evil 7 was dropped into an a escape room game. The game does a great job of being primarily about the puzzles but still providing that sinking feeling that something dangerous is lurking around the next corner. However, there are some small flaws that put a very mild damper on things. At one point Detective Lizard King ends up in this Lovecraftian realm connected by hallways and portals. During my short time in this area I ended up pema-falling over a dozen times just trying to Break On Through (To The Other Side) of a portal. Default controls are a little wonky too, but you have the ability to customize them to your liking. Overall, definitely not a bad first outing for the series.
Really awesome game and full of mysteries! These kind of games help me go fight my addiction for horror movies.
+ Good atmosphere
+ Nice story
+Some creepy things that makes you wonder what happened there.
-More vfx & sfx couldn't harm
PS: Reminds me of Counter Strike , Flappy Bird , Return of the monkey, Day of the tentacle, Minecraft and many more
Very good game. It's pretty quick only about 1 and 1/2 hours or so long but worth the play through. The atmosphere, gameplay, story and puzzles were all great. I got stuck once or twice but only cause i'm an idiot when it comes to puzzles even easier ones like these. I would for sure recommend this game. If you want to watch the first half of my play through you can check out the link below.

Loved the game so far. Dark atmosphere with a lovecraftian theme, an intriguing mystery. Also nice graphics and puzzles. Can't wait to play some more. :3
A very captivating game play, mysterious, very good graphics on max settings in 2k. Haven't gotten
to far in the game yet but it feels very much as escape room as you need to find stuff and solve puzzles.
Overall very nice game that gets you in the story
