I dont know what to say other than, this game is beautiful
神社的百合香 ~ Floral Aroma in the Shrine is an RPGMaker Visual Novel with mild adult content.
This game was surprising to say the least, I expected something alongside the lines of Blacktea with Moon, but this one was all over the place. The art is nice, the CGs, the characters portraits and the world... it's all looking good. The music is great, there are a lot of tracks and some of them are very well made. The story is a mixed bundle: the overall story is good, but the execution is terrible. It does last a full hour for one playthrough, which is good considering it's $1.
So without spoiling the plot or the story, I'll try to explain why I'm giving this a negative review. Well the translation is really bad, typos, wrong words used, non-translated Chinese characters, controls layout in Chinese and transition screens in Chinese. The plot is good, but I can find a dozen ways it could've been presented better. Some of the most emotional scenes were rushed, the most intense parts of the story were interrupted by spicy scenes (no NSFW, but it's implied they do things) and the ending is... I have no words. I kind of saw it coming but not only is the ending bad in itself, it's so sudden that it yet again throws off the pacing of the storytelling. Also adding that one of Reimu's request was not even followed-up right (she clearly mentioned a garden...)
The characters have personality swings and sometimes they act extremely rudely, the scene with the visitors a good attestation to that. With a different ending, a better translation and an even pacing, this game would've easily been a 8/10 (that comes from someone with no real interest in RPGMaker games.)
Overall, a cheap RPGMaker Visual Novel with great music, but a rather poor excecution.

An amazing game! Very impressive, with a deep and emotional story. Every moment is filled with heartwarming nuances, making me truly feel the character's journey. This game is not just entertainment, but an experience that leaves a lasting impression.

This game features a saddening tale about Reimu and Marisa, while I did like it, I can't fully recommend it due to its shortcomings.
The tone the game takes is confusing, the fanservice does not mesh well with the more emotional moments the game has, I managed to get a couple of tears in my eyes at these emotional moments but they didn't hit as hard as they probably intended to due to these tonal shifts.
The choice of game engine and its limitations make the game feel a bit wonky and a bit annoying if you happen to miss something, nothing game ruining, but I feel its worth mentioning.
If you decide to buy this, do it if you don't mind spending a bit of money on a flawed, yet still decent and maybe even enjoyable touhou fanstory, but I'd personally recommend you to look for other fanworks online, there's better stuff out there and for free.
