This is a yes but also a no in some ways. This game is an improvement upon Umbral Star in many ways, mainly its combat. However in turn it sacrifices many of the best parts of Umbral star as well, mainly the story. So while this game is far easier to play and replay, you will likely end up skipping most of the story as it is pretty bland.

This game is bad, and I'll tell you why. I played it for 37 hours and completed it 100%.

The AI in the game—especially allied units—is terrible. An allied soldier can stand just one sector away from an enemy capturing a sector and do nothing. Meanwhile, enemy units behave properly and capture all sectors without any issues.

Commander AI—The enemy commander sets up ambushes, deploys shields, and uses various tactics. Meanwhile, the allied commander does nothing—no additional missions to gain an advantage or anything like that.

Developer laziness—Some voice lines are repeated multiple times, and there are no unique lines, for example, when fighting against your own copy. This would have added variety to the gameplay, but the game was made without enthusiasm.

As a Musou-style game, this is a complete failure.

I don't really pay attention to the story since I prefer watching summaries on yt, but it's cool I like the gameplay :)

I’ll be honest here.
The only reason why I bought this game in the first place is because of Astolfo and the memes.
But besides from that, it’s actually quite decent.
Definitely should get it when it’s on sale.

Despite some minor story problems (that includes the Umbral Star story continuity) it is what you would expect from the next installment of this Musou type game of the Fate Extella series, the developers improved every aspect from the Umbral Star (previous game) gameplay wise and you can see it in the combat.They also included many quality of life changes with how you can level up and get gear/money/skills etc.. way easier! A very good game to pass some of your free time especially if you are a casual.

It is an okay Warrior game, very flashy combat but also very floaty, maybe the floatiest combat within this genre. Whoever says this is an improved Warrrior formula must not played any Musou game within 15 years.

This really was a 'Greatest Cool'.

OST - Battle of The Moon

Had minor artifacts when playing it on Linux Mint which was some floor textures flickering. Really small details and I only noticed them around two times in the 10+ hours I played it on the mentioned operating system.

so ill start by saying do not buy this game if its not on a major sale it is a mess of a game that hurts the eyes to look at. im like 90 percent sure i wont be playing through this unless im paid to play it. the gameplay is a standard dynasty warriors type game. the story could be somewhat ok but i cant get pased the shaky camera that makes me feel literally sick to look at for a long time.

Great game. I prefer the story in the first game more, but the combat and gameplay in this game is much better than the first. This game is also a lot less grindy than the first one a well. The multiplayer mode is also really fun, and none of the servants feel annoying to play as like in the first game. The addition of the Active Skills was definitely a good choice, since it makes combat flow much better. I also like that you are able to interact with the servants a lot more than you could in the first game.

A fairly serviceable Musou-like with a decent range of characters. The ability to customise active and passive skills is nice. Luckily, the story scenes are skippable; it is in a visual novel style, and held absolutely no interest to me. Overall a decent way to waste some time.

I wanna like it, but the mandatory internet is required to launch the game every time is a huge deal breaker. Yes, EVERY TIME. Sure, you can launch the game then turn off wifi but good luck doing that when you're outdoors with no internet or in the middle of a car ride. This is not a "just launch it once every few days and you're good."

The Warriors formula near perfected. If you are a FATE fan and want an excellent action game to play while you listen to podcasts or watch vids, this is definitely the one!

Fate/Extella Link is a delight. It takes beloved characters from Fate franchise, and then appropriates the Koei Tecmo Warriors gameplay structure with such style and panache that Koei should be taking some notes itself. If only the developers wouldn't write the story in half day.

Good game.

It's quite enjoyable game which have very good story&BGM.

Some mixed feelings on this one. as a game, its not necessarily bad.... but it isnt amazing either. the gameplay is, for the most part repetitive (like any hack and slash game) but the fighting system honestly lacks a bit of life into it. The fate series is known for their amazing stories, and while this one also isnt bad.... the game's short runtime and giant cast of characters means that zero character development happens whatsoever. this ultimately makes the emotional parts of the game just feel empty. like i said, the game itself is not bad, and if you're a fan of the franchise, i would give it a go. other than that, it just isnt worth it

tbh i bought it for astolfo, but i'm having fun :)

Played the Switch version back in 2018, enjoyed it back then. Then I touched the Steam version. Hoo boy, I missed this amazing game. It even runs buttery smooth!

This game is a blast! The special attacks system is definitely the highlight for me—it really spices up the combat. I’d love to see Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors take a page from this and add something similar in their next games. It makes everything feel more intense and satisfying.

That being said, the game is a little short. Once I hit level 150 and maxed out all the bonds, there wasn’t much left to do. I had a solid 36 hours of fun, but after that, the game didn’t really give me much to keep going for. It feels like there’s a lot of potential, but once you hit the main milestones, you’re kind of done.

Still, if you’re looking for an action-packed game with a great combat system, this one is definitely worth checking out—just be prepared for it to wrap up quicker than you might expect.
