You are ether going to like this or hate this, at first I enjoyed it a new concept with characters I know and love and a atelier city builder. However atelier to me is gathering with a little time management with the difficulty in the crafting as the game progresses. This game has a resource problem, where to ether have to be damn good at management, Or you run out of everything every week. your alchemist instead of crafting is gathering and even that doesn't feel satisfying and that is the problem. I cant confirm this but I suspect this game was the blueprint of the new atelier gatcha and all I can say is don't play this cause this isnt atelier. Stick to the mainline games.
A town building/management game rather than an atelier game. It's a game with a simple but addictive gameplay loop of setting up ateliers and shops to craft and sell items in one day, then going out to explore in the next. The goal is to generate money and resources to fuel the expedition, then use the components obtained from the expedition to craft even better items and onward the cycle continues.
Though simple, the game can be quite challenging as tasks are set for the player to complete within a time limit that can confer great advantage once completed, but if failed, then an outright game over or a snowball effect that will lead towards game over. Much of the resource management in this game will require consideration and optimisation. It's a towns management game that provide a solid challenge.
There are a lot of characters from the Atelier games up to the Mysterious series. Though only the Alchemists or the MC of the series can be taken on expedition with the main character of Nelke. The rest are employees to man shops, cultivate farms or send on independent non-controlled expedition to gather resources.
It's a fun game that is very additive to play. The one more day loop is employed very well here. A great game for an Atelier fan. For those that doesn't know the series though, this is not a good entry point.
