The Witch's House MV – это римейк оригинальной игры 2012 года, созданный при помощи RPG Maker MV.
Мы переделали всю графику, включая тайлы карты и спрайты персонажей, и здорово потрудились, чтобы сделать атмосферу и 2D красоту The Witch's House ещё более впечатляющими. Для создания этой версии нам понадобилось в пять раз больше времени, но в итоге мы полностью довольны результатом.
Помимо графических улучшений мы также добавили два новых уровня сложности, которые отсутствовали в бесплатной версии игры.
Первый уровень сложности делает игру более доступной, поскольку на нём вы можете мгновенно начать заново после провала. Второй уровень сложности вводит новые испытания и становится доступным, если вам удастся получить истинную концовку игры.

Фумми-сан, вне всякого сомнения, владеет этим умением и, как бы глупо это ни звучало, мне ещё никогда не было так весело раз за разом умирать в видеоигре.
Я был в восторге, когда узнал о том, что существует переиздание моего любимого классического инди-ужастика, но ещё более замечательным было то, что DANGEN смог помочь представить фанатам игру, которая, я уверен, очень им понравится. Прохождение The Witch’s House MV дарит совершенно новые впечатления, и я убеждён, что вы по достоинству оцените новый контент, который станет доступен после первого прохождения игры.

One of my fav game
Great game, great plot even though I've seen people play this and played it myself. The game's lore is also worth looking up if you want to dive deeper into it from the manga and the novel. Though, it's such a shame that there's no achievements to collect.
a game that got me into the rpg horror genre when i was a kid, still a fan 8 years later
A solid little game.
The Witch's House, if compared to others of its kind such as Ib and Mad Father, is a lot less-focused on story, and more so on its puzzles. it has like 20 lines of dialogues at best, most of it being at the end of the game.
The pixel art looks as great as any other remastered RPGhorror titles and the background music, while limited in variety, are all also decent.
The puzzles are great. Not all too complicated but not too simple either, some of them can also be quite the head-scratchers which makes them all the more satisfying once you manage to solve them.
The story presented in the game is, limited, for lack of better wording, there's not much to comment on it. It's fine and serves its purpose well.
- DIFFICULTY: EXTRA -
After you get the true ending of this game, the optional extra difficulty is opened up for you in case you want to suffer more.I actually found it quite enjoyable at first because the sheer amount of extra ways of dying gives each of them a bit of a comical feel to me, for whatever reason. The revamped puzzles also play a part in that enjoyment!

call it skill issue (it probably is) but the later segments of extra difficulty just feel a bit unfair at times..........
puzzles being too unclear, enemies being stupid fast, barely helpful puzzle hints.....
it really has you looking through every nook and cranny, which, can get really annoying. because instead of clever puzzles it just feels like a time waster........................................i'd recommend you taking that statement with a handful of salt because it's entirely possible i was just being an idiot and didn't pay enough attention.
All in all,optional hard difficulty aside, there's really no word that i can use to describe this game better than "solid". it's not too shabby, but nothing noteworthy either.
I'd recommend buying it when it's on sale though, because for what it is, the full price is just not worth it...................
P.S : this game has a manga and i'd HIGHLY recommend reading it if you're interested in knowing more about the game's story. it is SUCH a good read and gives SO much background and characterisation to the characters of "The Witch's House" who would otherwise fall a bit flat when viewed purely from the game's standpoint. Itis SUCH a tragic story and i LOVE it. I went from giving puck all to Viola to really liking her character.

A girl with yellow pigtails wakes up in the woods under the gaze of a mysterious black cat, where her curiosity will lead her along the cat's fur trail to a strange house where terrible nightmares and truths meet.
With a total of two endings and two others that only add certain dialogues to the story of the two main endings. One of these endings is in the extra difficult mode once you've finished on medium level, where the puzzles are more developed and thoughtful, there's more tension around every corner and a raw, frightening atmosphere from start to finish.
The music composed by Fummy does not pass by, hitting every note of the floors of this mansion of horrors and in the chases this level seizes in a magnificent way.
The Witch's House is one of the classic horror rpg maker games that has graced Steam with a great makeover and a remembered look. Its story is captivating and psychologically suspenseful, with an impactful twist at the end. The extra mode is extremely fantastic and better enhanced, causing that aversion in the desire to have more doors of this mansion to recognize. It's a memorable game for lovers of this genre and you won't be disappointed!

Ever since I watched Markiplier played this game, I been wanting to play The Witch's House for myself for so long. Such a classic and such a dear to my childhood. Love the game and love the creaters who made the game. 10/10 :)

The Witch's House is another Classic RPG horror game, that among it's other two siblings (Ib and Mad Father) is considered the scariest of the three. It is a very good game for this reason, as not many RPG horror games have had this impact. it also has some of the most interesting puzzles you have to solve.
The unique thing with the Witch's House, is that death is a huge part of this game. You will die alot in this game. Sometimes silly, sometimes jumpscare'ish, but this is part of the gameplay. Learn from every death, and try figure out the puzzle on what you must do to either aovid or deal with the danger ahead.
It should also be noted that besides sporting upgraded graphics, The Witch's House has a Extra mode, (aka hard mode) which is great for people who already had played the original free version. or for players who want more challenge.
I would recommend it, and also recommend reading the Manga once you finish the game. It's a good read if you can get it. (has only 2 volumes)
Certified RPG Maker Classic.
This version of the game is pretty much similar, if not the exact same game until you unlock the difficulty exclusive to this version of the game. I would recommend playing vgperson's translation of the original to see if you enjoy the game before making a purchase, and only if it's on a sale, or if the extra difficulty isn't your thing, I would just play vgperson's translation. It is a very short game, having only taking me 1.9 hours to beat. The exclusive difficulty may be worth playing, only if you really enjoy these kind of horror rpg maker puzzle games, and the only selling point in my eyes for this game.
As I enjoyed this game myself, and the review is quite mixed, I've given it a recommendation for purchase if it is on sale.

I think this is my favorite horror game I have ever played. It is a lot different then others, but so good. Highly reccomend.
Biggest money waster I have ever bought. Game wasn't engaging at all and lacked any narrative whatsoever.
It had a few scares here and there and that's all it had.
I wouldn't have played it even for free. The price you pay for it is a joke.
The fact that one ending requires you to stand still and do nothing for an hour is the best showcase for what this game has to offer.

I've really been on an rpg horror game kick lately and I just came off of finishing the remasters of Mad Father and Misao and was expecting something of a similar caliber or better considering the price of this game. I really wanted to like this game, I thought the concept was so charming and it really had a lot of potential. I really enjoyed my first playthrough and then loading to get the second ending. But the more I tried to play for different endings and the the extra mode, I really struggled to justify the price of this game. By the time I realized I wanted to return it I was barely past the threshold to be able to, so I tried to keep my chin up and hope it was worth it. After experiencing the true ending I was genuinely surprised and interested, I was willing to recommend this game despite the issues I had, so I wanted to actually play through everything to give it a fair chance. Unfortunately the difficulty vs reward for these endings also felt unjustifiable. Since there are no steam achievements the game couldn't even appeal to my completionist mindset, so I just looked up a video and my suspicions that there would be a lack of variation of the ending was correct. I found myself disappointed. Still holding out hope I tried the-waiting-for-an-hour-ending, and ... it was just incredibly disappointing (iykyk). The extra mode was fun for a bit, but sadly the attempt to create some variation just ended up with puzzles that weren't exactly difficult, but bordered on nonsensical. The chase scenes were a little more exciting but it got to the point where I again, couldn't justify finishing it. There wasn't an achievement, I couldn't use steam overlay to adjust my controls to my preferences, so I just looked up a video again. And just as I suspected, the ending lacked in any variation or satisfactory story/lore, so I just felt like I wasted my time and money entirely. For a game that has very bare minimum gameplay and story, no steam support, no achievements, and assets from free engines and plugins, I felt that this would be at most a $5 experience. To think this was once $17 is ridiculous. And while it may not be the intention, the fact that a "new and cool" additional ending requires waiting an entire hour comes off very scummy when you only have 2 hours to return a game.
It truly is an interesting concept and I'm sure the average person would be just as shocked as I was about the true ending, but you're better off saving your money and watching markiplier or something.
this game hates you being happy
The story is amazing.The game is a very good combination of atmosphere , scenery , music , trolling and fast-pased gameplay.Very speed-runnable.
I think you have to go into this knowing its a game that will jump-scare you and intentionally put you in positions where death is almost guaranteed. Try to laugh about it though. There is a lot of trial-and-error, and some of the puzzles are too cryptic. That said, this game narrowly wins on atmosphere alone. Despite my criticism it was still a fun and spooky journey.
The Witch's House is the simple story of a girl wandering into a haunted house owned by a witch, hence its title (duh...). There were some decent "jumpscares" and some of the puzzles were good, but ultimately I'm left disappointed, though not enough to thumb it down because I did enjoy it.
With RPGmaker games of any genre you have to give them a lot of slack in terms of gameplay due to engine limitations, which is almost the entire point of these kind of games. You're after a very specific vibe that you don't really get anywhere else! Usually, things like story and atmosphere tend to shine a bit brighter since those are less impacted by a janky engine (i.e., To the Moon, At Home Alone, Yume Nikki, etc.), but unfortunately in The Witch's House, the story is barebones, and the atmosphere/art are both just decent. The puzzles are the main attraction here, which is fine because they were relatively fair and clever. As a whole, I was quite underwhelmed. I would also have to say it's very overpriced for being a 60-90 minute game with limited replay value. Even getting it on sale for ~$5 still feels like a bit of a rip off.
It's another case of hearing people talk up a game for years, finally playing it, and seeing it's merely good as opposed to great. This is considered one of the classic RPGmaker horror games and while I haven't gotten around to many of them, most of the ones I played were much better than this. It's good, but not that good.

No offense to the original developer, but this honestly isn't anything I haven't already seen a dozen times already, it doesn't do anything new or particularly interesting, and there's no story. Or rather, no narrative of any sort. I've seen this sort of thing done better, but I suppose that makes sense considering this is a remake of an older game. Still, I have to judge a re-make on modern merits (because why would you remake it if you thought otherwise). And its a resounding "meh". Neutral rating.
At least there's no jumpscares.
Oh man, this is the last time I get "suckered" into buying (and playing) a RPG Maker Game.
I really do not get the high praises those Games get. I was extremely disappointed in IB and Cat in the Box and this here is no different.
What do people find in those Games?
They are extremely short, extremely overpriced, the writing is always bad (feels like a Game ideas I had 26 years ago when I was 14), the puzzles are easy as hell, it's not scary, the "running away from a handful of 'monsters'" is also no fun, so what is it?
Why do those Games all get overwhelmingly positive?
Yuppie Psycho (which to be fair had a totally handmade Java Engine and did not use RPG Maker but is kind of in the same vein) for example is way better than all of those combined.
Felt ripped of again, but yeah, 3rd time's the charm. This was the last time. The Witch's House get's a big ol' thumbs down.
Bought this for the nostalgia, I remember playing this when I was too young to and never got the chance to beat it. The game is really fun! It's pretty short and linear but I genuinely got some good spooks, I generally just had a lot of fun, and the inclusion of the new difficulty is great. The sprites and art in general are also wonderful. Overall, it's a recommendation from me if you don't mind it being a short but sweet experience.

Meh. 1 hour for a high price. This game is worth $1, not $15. The puzzles were too easy. Use a gamepad, because someone inhuman designed the keyboard controls.
This is an absolutely amazing game, the true ending had me staring slack-jawed at the screen for a good few minutes. Heart wrenching, truly. I recommend this game to anyone who likes cutesy horror games. Absolutely amazing.
