a city block, surrounded by numbers that tell the player how many skyscrapers
can be seen from that point of view.
In every row and column there can not be two skyscrapers of the same height.
It's an easy to learn, addicting puzzle game... but there is more hidden beneath the surface.
45 campaign levels and unlimited randomly generated levels give
this game an always fresh gaming experience.

Skyscrapers or High Rise is one of those less well known Japanese logic puzzles but they are great fun. It is not at all similar to Sudoku except for the fact that they both use numbers.
PUZZLE INFO:
- Each row or column can never have a building with the same height
- Numbers outside the grid tells you how many buildings can be seen from that side
- Taller buildings block shorter ones
eg. in a row 21453,
viewing from the left you will see 3 buildings (245)
viewing from the right you will see 2 buildings (35)
All puzzles can be solved with logic alone. There is never a need to guess.
What you see from the screenshots is what you get. The layout is really that simplistic but it does includes all the basic yet important features one would require in a puzzle game:
- notation system
- mid puzzle progress is saved automatically
- handcrafted puzzles
- windowed mode is possible
- turning off sounds & music is possible
- extra: random level generator = unlimited puzzles
I was actually surprised to find a digital adaptation and on steam to boot. This game however added in a (really redundant) visual novel on the side. To be honest, I skimmed through as the plot was crap. The puzzles on the other hand are great.
Note: You do not have to play the vn in order to play the puzzles but you have to finish most puzzles in order to progress through the vn.
If you yearn for more, there is a much more challenging variant known as High Rise Suguru which can be found in 'Beyond Sudoku' published by Puzzler.
If you like such (obscure) Japanese logic puzzles, do check out Hashi, Siltherlink, Hitori.
Good puzzle game.
The game has simple rules, so it's easy to learn how to play, but still offers a good level of challenge and i really liked the possibility of insert notes, which is extremely useful in the most difficult levels.
The main campaign is well studied: it starts with very simple levels and gradually introduces more difficult levels, offering a good level of challenge without becoming frustrating.
There is also a visual novel (I don't like visual novels so much, but this one is fine and there are some funny easter eggs) and the possibility to generate levels randomly, offering good longevity.
The game also has a low price, so i totally recommend it.
Good puzzle game and cute heroine, but I hope the story can be longer.
