After 2 years from the previous bad review of this game I decided to check it out to see if it had gotten any better since the release. Once I got though the cheap scream sound effects from the main menu and started the game, I enjoyed the beginning. The first level had some good fog and ambiance to get me invested for a hopefully fun and creepy game. Unfortunately, the game turned out to not be scary. I played the game to the very end and clocked 4 hours total. It is not the worst I have ever played as was previously reported by another gamer (I've played games a whole lot worse). I would also like to say that it is also easy to read documents and you are never mobbed by a group of zombies. Once you kill anything in the area they don't come back and it's easy to read whatever you want to. I do agree that there are some bugs that need to be fixed such as the inventory bug which I believe caused me to lose a key I tried to pick up because my inventory was already filled up. That was the only bug in the game that was a real show stopper. The best way to get past the inventory issue was to stack your ammo. You could plug as much ammo at once into your gun as you could find so that way it never filled up inventory slots. If you know that going in you are prepared for it. Pressing ESC to bring up the menu also does not pause the game as was reported earlier. The other odd thing in the game is that they included Girl Scout kids in it that did not fit the narrative at all which was weird and they can take more shots than usual because they are inconsistent in hit points which is likely another bug. The thing that hurts the game most is its story that is told by notes you find throughout the game. I get what they were going with which was an almost F.E.A.R. type entity called Harmony but it was told poorly and made the game confusing up to the very end. I did like that they rewarded players for exploring every area. There were many areas that included an extra room to find that gave you more backstory to try to understand what was going on. They also reward you with a secret gun to find near the beginning that is one of the best in the entire game making it easier going forward. I do not expect the developer, Josh Loveridge, to come back to fix these issues unfortunately. When I clicked on the Loveridge Designs logo on the game's menu it took me to Loveridge Digital which is a successful media and marketing agency. I think this game was left in the dust and will not see any more improvements which is unfortunate because it does need polish and doesn't look in good light compared to the company and their current successes. Only about 7% of the people who bought it since 2018 have finished the game according to Steam achievements.
