It's not as good as the first one and that wasn't a high bar. The girls are cute, the gameplay is OK. The puzzles are less intuitive, the levels of the mall are hard to distinguish in terms of what you can and can't walk through, and there's literally a secret stairway that eliminates one of the challenges... which is actually a good thing because it would've been annoying otherwise.
Buggy a$$ game. Ain't no way I'm gonna restart the whole game for the third time and beat the high score arcades.
A great game, but not as amazing as the first one.
It was charming, but felt a bit more empty.
Also getting the achievment for the racing game was hard AF because the sensitivity and controls completely changed when the speed went up in the end.
And the sensitivity should be a bit higher in asteroids.
And then my biggest issue: foto flash 3, when???
A sequel to the fun Foto Flash, which itself is an homage to Franks Adventure which was awesome. It's still the same scavenger hunt game play where you find item, give item to proper person, get new item, give item to girl, then finally give item to pretty lady for pinup shot. This game isn't as fun as the last one mostly just from I didn't much care for the mall but I did enjoy the individual characters and humor. Giving a certain someone a ledger to get drugs to give to a host to give a good review for the mall is odd enough to be funny to me. The art is still pretty good and the ending funny enough to get a recommend from me. Would say $2 is fair but if your feeling generous spring for the full $3.
Edit: I forgot to mention the arcade games. You need to get the high score in these to get a pic but some of it is brutal. I remember Frank's Adventure 3 doing the same thing and I also found that to be hard as hell. Just thought I'd warn some people who remember that.
Foto Flash is back and there's more photos to take and a new location to explore.
Story:
Set right after the first game, you still pay as the photographer who won a vacation. You decide to visit a mall which is dying and the owner of the mall wants you to help her assemble a calendar with the girls working at the mall in the hopes of saving it.
The story is pretty much identical to the first game, where you try to save a dying business by taking photos. It's fine for what it is and it does what it sets out to do, but again it's nothing special. Writing is again pretty cheesy, but I still enjoyed the story somewhat, not to mention the crazy cliffhanger ending.
However I will say the cliffhanger ending is really disappointing since there's basically no chance of a Foto Flash 3 because the dev has gone quiet since the release of this game, I would definitely buy a Foto Flash 3, but it's unlikely to ever happen.
Graphics:
One thing that I really liked about the first game is the bright and colorful art style of the world. It was an absolute joy to explore the world, which is why I'm so disappointed about the sequels choice of ditching a bright and colorful world into a drab and bland shopping mall.
The mall itself just looks boring, all of it mostly looks the same, with white tiles and mall stuff like benches and trash cans scattered everywhere. It's really boring and kind of depressing to explore, not to mention since most of it looks the same, it's kind of difficult to find your footing.
I will say the design for the girls is just as good as the first one, so there's at least one positive, but everything else is an absolute downgrade.
Audio:
The music is also not as good as the first one, it's just okay at best. Since you're stuck indoors at a mall, there's not really much ambience, just music that sounds like it's coming from the malls speakers, which was a cool touch, but other than that it was just sort of disappointing.
Gameplay:
Foto Flash 2 is almost identical in gameplay to the first one. There's 10 girls and to get their photos you have to do a favor for them to get their photo. The puzzles this time are around much easier than the first one and actually in some instances even worse.
One of the worst additions was the arcade games you have to play to get a photo of one the girls. There's three games and you have to get a high score in each of them and the controls of them are horrendous. Because of the insanely stiff controls they are super difficult to play and give the game a massive difficulty spike.
The slippery controls return and due to the malls design it's easy to get stuck in very tight corners and when you get to the box pushing puzzle, it really becomes annoying. I think the game is much easier overall and also much smaller in size.
Verdict:
Foto Flash 2 is a really disappointing sequel and a downgrade to the first game in every way. I still had a fun time playing, but I can't deny that I didn't have as much as fun as I did with the first one. It's also much shorter than the first one, just roughly an hour, but the developers even warned about this on the store page so I don't mind that much. The game also has more bugs than the first and more issues, but on a sale I can still recommend this one.
Final Rating:
6/10
Pros:
+ The art of the girls is really good
+ Some decent puzzles
Cons:
- The Mall is a terrible location
- The slippery controls are even worse here
- Those arcade games

Foto Flash 2's common theme? Awful.
The game has awful controls, keyboard or controller. It is badly programmed, so you keep getting stuck on environement, espescially escalators. Speaking of the environment, it is awfully bland. And the pictures for the pin-up calendar are awful. This is the most condemming thing here. The big "rewards" for the fetch quests just don't look good.
But there is one more thing, that makes this game awful. Mandatory, stupidly hard and badly programmed minigames. Mandatory! Asteroids! Unresonsive! Snake! Dumb! Fishing! DAFUQ
Stay away. Any price is too high for this. Any time investment is too long for this. Not a single compelling or even apreciated minute was found in here.

Sadly I can't recommend this game. It's a downgrade compared to it's predecessor in every way. The gameplay is essentially the same but the puzzles are even simpler. The artwork is as good but instead of staying as lewd overall or getting ideally lewder it got a bit softer. The map design is completely boring and downright badly done and sucks to navigate at some points. The game is considerably shorter even with all of this.
Don't pay attention to my playtime, it takes around 45mins to finish it. There's no time trial mode this time around and I spent about 50mins trying to get the car arcade game achievement but as soon as you hit 170 score the control become so sensitive that even a light tap on the keyboard sends you down two lanes and borks you up. And the 100 score one for the turbo snake arcade game I'm not even going to attempt at this point.
Also giving the clue #2 to the panties guy froze my game. Luckily even though I didn't save since the beginning the game autosaved which was a nice surprise, if we can really say that. Heard someone else got soflocked too after giving him the hot dog lol.
I really hope the dev learns from all of this if he ever makes a third one, which I still would like to see because the first one was neat, and improves upon everything.
This sequel is a waste of time.
I was bored... The whole play through, the setting is bland and unenjoyable.
The music and visuals are dull, even the illustrations just aren't cutting it for me this time.
It's frustratingly buggy. Not only are the minigames in the arcade generic, but you have to beat them in order to finish the game, and there's THREE of them.
I had my problems with the original, but at least it had redeeming qualities.
Without the time trial mode there's zero replay value.
It's really unfortunate because I like this type game, but this time it's a big miss for me.
Go play the Frank's Adventure series for free on your browser for a better experience.
Foto Flash 2 seems to be fun to play, but still a lots of bugs has been discovered. I hope these could be fixed because they are kinda annoying to always close the game and go back.
But at least new characters and new things to do, like playing arcade and going maze around. The game doesn't seem to be that hard, but it was pretty quick to complete like FF1. But it was still fun to play.
I recommend to play it, at least i recommended when it was cheap on sale! <3
It's actually pretty fun. A short and simple 8-bit game where you find the clues and solve them one by one. You'll spend a lot of time crawling around this sprawling map, but if you enjoy animated boobies, it's worth it. Make sure you hit the censorship option in the opening menu.
if you compare it to the first one there are pros and cons
+
mini games are fun (and there are at least 5 different ones)
one big map/ no area transitions (except entering shops)
-
map isn't as visually interesting
i liked the music from the first one better
~
it took about the same amount of time to complete as the first one
art is still great
feedback
would have been cool to see more of an upgrade over the first one, the mini games are cool, I'm sure they took a decent amount of time to make but i think the core gameplay could have been improved too
im sure the map is designed like a maze to make it harder but this map was more annoying than the first because everything looks so similar
diagonal movement would be cool, even click or click drag to move would be nice to make movement smoother (would also make analog stick on a controller work properly)
the money usage was improved and i think developing that further that could add more depth to the game, like if you help a shop out they start generating income
you could juice some more content out of the art by.. say being able to purchase new costumes/accessories with said income
something like that anyway, just something else to give us more to do
Not as good as the first one. The mall is a far less interesting and varied, visually, as far as the artwork goes than the city was in the last one. This one feels rather "phoned in" than the charming "Nippledew Valley" we had in the last one.
However, the artwork on the girls is still great. I really liked the end and it makes me look forward to the next one. I would humbly request that they not include the arcade games in the next one. Honestly, for 3 bucks this was worth my time. 2.0 hours is up from the 1.8 hours in the last one, but thats padded by those stupid arcade mini games. Well cheaper than a movie, even a Matinee.
I liked Foto Flash as it brought nostalgia from the flash games from a few years back. It had some issues, but I could overlook these.
Foto Flash 2, however, feels like a game that was rushed to completion without much polish or finetuning simply for an easy buck. Especially the controls are horrible. Having to line up your character on pretty much an exact pixel in order to pass a staircase is frankly ridiculous for a game made in 2018. It's also possible to get stuck in the box-moving room, which is very irritating as well. The movement issues are also very noticable in the Arcade minigames, which makes it pretty difficult due to the choppy movement (note: it's not that difficult for the actual requirements, but in order to get the steam achievements you'll have to go through a lot of irritation, the games aren't so much challenging as they are simply products of bad programming and lacking finetuning.
I really wanted to like this game too, and the core gameplay is basically the same as Foto Flash 1, but it just feels unfinished, which is also very visible in the graphics, which are just boring.
Not worth buying it.
The reviews aren't great, but I don't think the game is half bad though.
I loved the new girls designs, the new minigames and I actually kinda liked the idea of a smaller and less confusing map (even though the mall is little bit boring and lifeless and I wish it had more content).
The only complaint I have is that the sprite's collision it's terrible and makes it painful to walk through narrow edges and go around stuff. So yeah, please fix that on future games.
I loved the first Foto Flash, It was more lively and fun. Foto Flash 2 has this plain feeling to it, the game itself was good but it was just soreful to see. I loved the pictures but some of the gameplay was not so great, for example, the minigame with the space ship and meteors was just not fun, if the ship turned faster i would enjoy it but i could not get this done. Its good in all other aspects though.
It's a good game for £2, but it's a £2 game so don't expect to have your dick blown off.
Pros: Very good artwork, fun minigames, and sound track that sounds alright...
Cons: Strap on them hiking boots kid cuz there's a hell of a lot of walking.
Dip in quality since the first one, but I'd like to see where the next game might take us.
Sad to see the reviews tank (hope it doesn't impact the sequal ;).
Foto Flash 2 is an OK buy for the price and being a sequel to a good game, you should get both the original and this.
I reference the original Foto Flash a lot, if you haven't played it you can watch the trailer for it, it should be enough for the reference.
First the positive:
+ The Arcade mini-games are a great addition to the game, and you get some challenge if you'd like to try to get the achievements for each game.
+ No annoying collecting. One of the flaws in the original in my opinion was the baseball collecting, since there were so many it felt almost annoying. Here the only collecting quest is really the 3 panties, which stays more interesting because there aren't too many.
Mixed:
~ New girls had great desing and the picture art was great once again. But this time it felt as if the girls had a bit less personality. Maybe too little dialogue, but still doesn't have a huge negative effect on the game.
Then negatives:
- The colors are really bland compared to the original, in which the colors were really strong and provided a really nice visual feel to the game. Here it's so much white and just small colors here and there, really felt like the map needed more color.
-Related, the map desing overall was a bit lazy. So much empty space unused and walls had just the same closed shops, and nothing interesting, not a lot of detail. Visually not as pleasing as the original.
Overall:
Foto Flash 2 in my opinion has refined gameplay from the original, but suffers a fall in visual quality in colors and detail.
I would recommend this game for everyone who played the original Foto Flash. If you haven't played it yet, i recommend playing it first, and then see for yourself if you like the game enough to invest in the sequel. For the low prices the games are, it's not a big investment, though the games are short, they are a good and fun experience.
Looking forward for the possible 3rd addition in the series, which was hinted at.
Nowhere near as good or as interesting as the first game. A small enclosed area with less interesting visuals means exploration is less enjoyable. Downsizing from an entire town to one shopping mall really limited the gameplay variety and the puzzles were nowhere near as fun to figure out. The Minigames show promise but need more work and the girls are as adorable as ever with gorgeous art by Rafchu. I hope the third game continues what made the first one so great and builds on the minor things that went well in the sequel.
Studio Gamaii has my $2.99 all day long. Worth it for an hour of play and I'm sure some steam cards down the road. Lots of (understandable) criticism on this game but at the end of the day it's $3 for a nice nostalgia trip. Lots of late night Franks Adventure if you get what I'm saying. Buy it and have a great time.
Pros:
Boobs
Fun
Nostalgia
A sense of pride and accomplishment after beating those bullshit arcade games.
Cons:
Bullshit arcade games
WHERE ARE THE DRUGS
So i like the fact that there's a sequel, but on release for the first game, i didn't encounter too many glitches crashes or bugs, this time around I'm starting to see immediately you can't screenshot in game with f12 for steam. Also I got stuck around the hotdog girl on and it keeps crashing here. The backroom for the gun for Cactus is a pain cuz the boxes are too easily moved so yeah just the first few mins I'm already a tad irked.
I bought the first game because I love Rafchu's art, and I found it to be an enjoyable little puzzle game with cute art, and simple but fun puzzles reminiscent of the flash games the Foto Flash series is based off of.
Foto Flash 2 is a definite downgrade, this is because of issues from the last game still being present, as well as new problems.
A returning problem is the overall lack of polish, stemming from non animating sprites and the fact that slopes weren't programmed into the collision, so if you want to walk down a narrow path, you're going to get frustrated for a bit while you try to precisely position your character perfectly to walk through the path's opening. And, that is going to happen a lot, since the mall has a few thin escalators you're constantly crossing as you move back and forth through the mall to solve puzzles.
Those two problems, the collision and the sprites, wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for the new flaws.
The most obvious flaw is the mall itself: it's visually bland and lacking in tileset variety, causing exploration to be confusing at first because of how very few things visually give you clues as to where you are. God, I wish I was an art director of some sort for this game, because I think adding garbage everywhere and making the mall actually look dirty and run-down would be really charming and funny.
The puzzles are also comparitively simpler than the last game; less things to keep track of and less motivations to explore the mall. The most challenging part of the game comes from trying to remember where everything is on the map. I get the feeling that might be a side effect of the inclusion of the arcade games.
The arcade games, (along with the fishing minigame) themselves are flaws on their own, as they're simple, but also tedious and time-consuming to complete. You'll be playing these games, trying to get the high scores because that's required to beat the game, and you'll be wishing you could just be done with them all and continue the main game.
I also found there to be a few game-breaking glitches, like how offering certain characters hot-dogs creates a text box you can't proceed from, forcing you to restart the game.
These next couple points are subjective and opinion-based, so I don't think they'll be universally agreed with.
I found the music to be not quite as catchy as the last game. The main track in particular gets especially annoying the longer it's on loop.
And, lastly, I think the cast of girls is much more hit-or-miss than the last game. The last game had a lineup of girls that were all pretty much equally cute and well designed, but that isn't the case in Foto Flash 2. Some of the girls are really nice looking and have really charming designs, while the remaining handful look either bland, slightly awkward, or downright ugly with one character (you can probably guess who). Rafchu's art is still fantastic, so even if a number of the girls aren't your taste, you can at least appreciate the well-done pinup art.
I will say though, the ending got a lot of chuckles out of me, and I think it's the best part of the game. The comedy and the unexpectedness really caught me offguard. Combined with the fact that it's a cliff-hanger, I definitely interested to see how the next game will shape up.
Overall, it just doesn't seem like as much effort was put into this sequal. Not to say no effort was put into it at all, but it was absolutely rushed. If you played the first game, then I'd say it's worth it to see the new character designs and the new cheesecake art, but I really wouldn't reccomend this as the starting point. For returning players, two or three bucks for more of the first game's charm and cute art, I'd say, is worth it.
My advice for the third entry of Foto Flash's series would be to put more thought into the main gameplay style, which would be the scavenger hunt puzzles. The minigames really aren't a good replacement for the lack of puzzle complexity. I also think giving the character and object sprites two or three frames of animation would also bring the game to life. Heck, I'd even offer to do the animations myself.
also please make it less annoying to walk through narrow openings. Either make them wider, or program slopes.
Here for the girls = eh get it
Anything else = No, watered down short game, very bland
Note: the game has a few bugs some which freeze the game so do not purchase because they are easy to run into.
Quite short compared to the first. The mall is bland even for one shutting down it just seems dead compared to the wonderful area we got in the first game. I found the puzzles easier due to this and had no issue with them. It got toned down compared to the first game.
The mini games are just arcade classics, not bad but the meteor one is a pain at the moment without pure luck.
It feels the same but feels watered down compared to the first game, be nice if the mall was more alive or didn't seem like 3/4 of it was just worthless space. A let down to be honest.
