This game started as a prototype in Quinnipiac University's GDD Program, but after a year of development, it's become more than I ever imagined. I hope you enjoy this little homage to all the shoot em' up games that I grew up with. Happy scoring!

excellent game
In 3rd grade I paid a kid $1 to eat a worm.
This game is an absolute blast. Easy to learn, hard to master. For only a dollar I highly recommend you check TimeTekker out!
Really love this game so far, it hits that perfect difficulty level for me as a 27 year old gamer. It's more about brains then reflexes in otherwords!
The game seems hard at first, but as you get better Merciless becomes the perfect amount of Difficulty for extended play. (start out on easy/brutal until you get used to it)
In a nutshell, Timetekker has simple yet satisfying gameplay. Shoot, dodge, slow down time. On a deeper level you will need to be learning new strategies to make it onto the top of the leaderboard, ie. moving after shooting since time resumes after firing.
You will learn to track bullets in slowmo, tons of them and by the end your frain will get a real workout!
Disclosure:
I should disclose first that I was contracted to compose the music for this game, so techinically you could say I am a developer. However, you can be sure that I am giving my honest opinion in this review. I also did not even get this game for free, though I think a dollar for this game is a steal.
Mechanics/Game Feel:
That said, TimeTekker is an incredibly fun and addicting game. It's pretty simple. Survive as long as possible by killing enemies and not getting hit. The time-slow-down mechanic turns what normally would be an incredibly reflex-intensive kind of game into a strategy game where you are encouraged to think about the optimal order to kill enemies in.
The controls are tight and responsive (I play with keyboard and mouse, but the game offers pad support). Using the melee attack to deflect bullets feels very satisfying. Lining up your shots to get collateral kills feels very satisfying. Weaving in and out of hoards of enemies on Merciless mode feels very satisfying. Climbing the leaderboard feels very satifying.
Visuals/Graphics:
Artii's graphics are incredibly beautiful as always. The nebulous background of the game is beautiful, but not overly busy or distracting.
Sound:
Artii's sound effects are all incredibly satisfying, especially that "pop" you hear when you get a kill. This pop sound is a big part of what makes multi-kills so satisfying.
I did the music, so I think it would be kind of dumb for me to review that. I am happy with how my music came out, but I am always open to criticism. I am always striving to improve.
Complaints:
I read in other reviews that dying in one hit is really lame. While I understand how that could seem like primative design, I have never really seen it as a problem, as you can get right back into the game pretty much instantly.
Final thoughts:
TimeTekker has quickly become one of my favorite video games, and I have been playing it almost daily as I try to climb to number 1 on the online leaderboard. If you like shoot-em-ups then I would highly recommend this game to you.
TimeTekker is a very enjoyable bullet-time arcade shooter. Time slows down as long as you are not moving, shooting, or using your melee ability. I'm having fun trying to best my high score on the leaderboards, there is quite a bit of tension as I near my last score. This is a game you can pick up easily and play for as little or as long as you like.
One thing on my wishlist is Steam Cloud so that my high score id can transfer between computers but that is a minor request. TimeTekker is very reasonably priced and highly recommended.
Easiest rank 1 of my life.

"Bullet-hell ballet crossed with SuperHot's time-slowing mechanic" is the best way to quickly cut to the heart of what this terrific little overhead 2D arcade shooter is about. A pleasant surprise! 😎
This is an addictive game with a cool mechanic executed great. It's a top choice game to play when bored and wanting to play a simple game. The leaderboard feature is one of the things that keeps me playing and gives people a challenge besides the in game challenges.

TimeTekker is exactly what it claims to be, a challenging, addictive, shoot'em up with a few unique twists that help it stand apart. You play as a space-ninja who features the ability to throw shurikens, deflect projectiles, and slow down time, all while attempting to survive an onslaught of enemies as they seek to return you back to the myths from which you came.
It's a simple and straightforward no-frills game, it's very much what you would expect from an average high-score seeking mobile game, extremely short play sessions due to it's challenging nature would do well on such a platform, though I find they are a bit of a detriment outside of portable environments.
It supports only keyboard and mouse and the only modifiable settings are basic graphics options, there are no audio options which is a detriment to any game, that definitely should be fixed in a future update as the game's audio is quite decent when it's not drowning itself out.
Overall you are certainly getting what you pay for, and it achieves what it aims to be quite well.
EDIT: To preface this review, I will state that I've played this game before its release on Steam for a sum of ~4-5 hours in total.
TimeTekker's a game that throws me back to the Flash era of online gaming. It's simple and (very) addicting if you're trying to get #1 on the leaderboard.
You're a ninja in an arena of up to 3 types of baddies (depending on the difficulty of your choosing) and time moves faster when you move (in the vein of SUPERHOT.) You can shoot shurikens as long as you have ammo and you can pick up ammo from fallen foes. Last important mechanic: you can parry incoming enemy projectiles and turn them friendly.
The gameplay unravels as frustrating as much as it is rewarding. When you lose, you (generally) feel like it was your fault, and when you survive an oh-so-close encounter against a barrage of projectiles, you feel like a legend. The only downside I feel is that there are the occasional times when I die and I just can't understand why (e.g. I swear I parried that!) However, if you stick to the game and "git gud", you will pull off moments that you wish you were recording so you could share them with friends.
Overall, would recommend! For a humble price of $1, this game is 100% worth it.
