VERY FUN!!!

after 900+ hours in, I can safely say that its an alright game yeah. go play it. its fun!

this game will be so insanely popular if it had a community server browser and support for custom content like maps and gamemodes

A really cute game where you can be a cute thing and kill other cute things. Even after all of these years I find myself coming back eventually to be obsessed over being a little critter and collecting more cosmetics and exp and doing little dances and alldat.

Despite the game being free, if you got the money to toss to the devs you should! They deserve it :>

Politics-

Super Animal World is full of LGBTQIA+ cosmetics so you can demonstrate these values, but only those values. Anything else is considered politics or 'hate speech' and will quickly earn you a permanent chat ban. Your very normal statements deemed as hate speech will be read by nobody (game blocks it) and yet they want to ban you from ever talking again.

we saw this username "white death", easily interpreted as a genocidal statement. thats OK! saying "i love white people" = that gets you BANNED. same with any other human group, at least there is consistency. frustrating i was unable to counter signal such a sick ambition

later same night, username "misandrist", someone who hates men. that OK! is it?..



-Gameplay
I mostly enjoy SAR gameplay, but there are a few sore elements.

emu + shotgun - the ultimate laming strategy. just charge your enemy, let them empty their magazine and then you'll be standing next to them with point blank power... and them.. nothing. victory every time! remove emu or 1/3 the HP.

BCG - super fun to use egglauncher but its range, fire rate, AOE and damage create an out of place weapon in this game. broken schtuff, nerf it.

grenades - obviously the best throwable, so much better than any other throwable that grenades should either be rarer or nerfed.

armor swapping - mid battle you can instantly swap your zeroed out armor for a fresh set. this is frustrating for someone who is winning the fight to have to shoot down 3 sets of armor, shouldn't be allowed. give us a 800ms delay or something.


Conclusion-

me going on about people teaming in solo matches, how the devs do nothing and ignore it. whatever, i dont want care more about the game than the devs who make me feel ashamed to be canadian

will i keep playing? probably, it pains me to say.

will the devs ban me for this review? anything is possible, considering how vindictive and unfair their chat filter is, would be cool to see. am i free at last?

Super Animal Royale is a very niche, exotic Battle Royale for a very particular community. That community is, of course, furries.

Furries make for surprisingly good companions and adversaries in competitive games. All in all, I'm pleased with the quality of the product and the quality of the community surrounding SAR. It is a free-to-play game without any pay-to-win/P2W components, and only features cosmetic upgrades.

I find very little utility in posting this review, given this title has spread already to probably its max audience via word-of-mouth, but if by some act of God you happened upon my review, I recommend you give Super Animal Royale a chance. It's a low-stress, low-grind competitor to the traditional Battle Royale.

I've had this game for a good long while and it is a delight! I've never into royales, at all but then I was introduced to this game and enjoyed the different animals you can play as. All the weapons have faults and weaknesses, some more than others, like the bow and sparrow launcher but every single weapon can assist in victory. The 2D style and art is super adorable and fits very well with the bizarre world that this royale exists in. The only compliant I have is that there are microtransactions. I'd much prefer to have this game purchased and have all cosmetics available. To be fair, there are plenty of cosmetics and costumes that you can unlock over time. Despite this change, this game is a lot of fun, especially with friends!

SAR is a very casual Battle Royale game with cute animal characters. Matches are short and an interactive lobby before each match starts makes it an easy game to jump into for a few matches. The skill ceiling is lower than most games, but new players will probably have a frustrating time getting the basics down. There are two more casual games modes that are rotated each week: a zombie mode and a control point mode. The zombie mode is my personal favourite.

The lighthearted nature of the game has allowed it to grow a small but close-knit community. I have made plenty of online friends in-game. There are of course some toxic players but I've very few negative interactions compared to other competitive games. The game is free-to-play and and does not use any pay-to-win mechanics. You level up by playing matches and there is some grinding needed unlock some of the animal character skins like dragons and bats. There are plenty of cosmetic clothing items, but some of the more interesting cosmetics must be purchased.

This game has given me much joy over the years and I would absolutely recommend giving it a try.

Fun game. This was a purchase once upon a time. Now it is free. This a top-down battle royale game with animals as the avatars. It is fun and tries to do something different. It succeeds. Please give this a try.

Can't say enough good things about this game. Wonderful art style with a matchingly cute soundtrack, easy to pick up and put down, great with friends, tons of events with reruns in case you've missed passed items, and a fantastic community. The devs really put their hearts into this game, and it shows.

As long as you don't live in Australia, this game is 100% worth it. As a big fan of line-of-sight based top down shooters this is by far my favourite battle royale, a genre that for me was always good, just oversaturated. If you missed the big wave of it like me and aren't tired of it, or you're just a big fan, this is a real fun game. The worldbuilding is more fun than I first thought it would be too. My only complaint about this game is having to play it at 250+ ping because the devs don't think it's worthwhile to create OCE servers. If ping is a big turn-off for you and you live in oceania then skip this one. But I don't really mind, because I'm just too good like that.

super fun game to get sucked into!

It's a very fun and chill game, especially with friends! Also the player base is incredibly nice and not toxic for the most part so 10/10 for that alone.

Here is a tip if you're just starting out, play game modes like SAW vs. Rebellion first to get used to the combat and to familiarize yourself with the weapons and power ups. That's what really helped me improve my skills quickly when I was new.

Very cute and very easy to learn, hard to master. It's a casual and pretty fun arcadey shooter with lots of room for growth. And unlike Fortnite every 3 months, almost every SAR update is a total positive and barely changes the core game.

Matches are pretty fast-paced so action is quick and losing doesn't feel as bad. There's also always a rotating LTM that ditches squads for either a zombie infection or a 32v32 conquest game.

Progression is entirely cosmetic and the monetization is among the least predatory out of any live service game currently. There's few truly FOMO items as nearly every unlockable/purchasable item can be gotten from a rotation or working on an older season's battle pass.

I've been around this game for a good 4-5 years now, and I can confidently say it's a wonderful experience!
The community's awesome, the dev team's very kind, the animals are super cute (and deadly!), the lore is surprisingly deep, and the gameplay's nice and simple!
Awesome for when you want to jump in quick and play a 6 minute or less match!

The way Super Animal Royale does its battle passes (called Animal Passes) is also unlike most I've seen! All are permanent and purchasable via the archives through SAW Tickets when a new one releases, which I think more games should do! You can also progress the current pass and a past one AT THE SAME TIME!

With the Super Animal World expansion on the horizon, and a new update that released as of writing this review, now is a great time to drop in for free! You also get the newest pass (By Popular Request is what it's named) FOR FREE until the expansion releases!

P.S. No, you don't have to be a furry to enjoy SAR. I'm an animal lover myself who found a game with cute animals and mythological creatures that praise a banan, and decided to play! I could be one if I wanted, but...
