A fun mini-adventure that hearkens back to the sense of wonder days of Golden Age Science Fiction -- this openhearted simplicity emphasized by references to the nearer days of CGA monitors and soaring, uncluttered synth (interspersed with broad stretches of ambient life support noise, of course). The translation is very effective, and fooled me into thinking that the native language of the game was English -- though there are numerous typos that could be ironed out to give more of a professional gloss to things. There are a few bugs, too, these all showing up toward the end, but nothing game -breaking, mostly just dialog flags resetting when you reload.
Generally, I was impressed! Will Professor Meme have further adventures, I wonder?
Pleasant retro adventure for nice afternoon. Story is a bit hurried in the end, it tries to aim high, but has not enough space for it. So it could have been tad longer after all.
Overall was an interesting and fairly short point and click adventure. Playtime was about 2 1/2 hours without a guide. The story is a scifi fantasy mystery where you play as Professor Meme after landing at the base on Zerulia. Your friend Professor Gustav is missing and it becomes your job to find him and discover the mysteries of the strange creatures, the Seazogs. The game is not without it's faults, and some puzzles are not as intuitive as I'd have liked. There were two sections where I became stuck for a while. For the first one, thankfully the base is fairly small so I was ultimately able to exhaust options to stumble on the answer. The second however was thankfully not a game breaking bug, but was a softlock where I was unable to ride an elevator back up in a room. I was able to quit to menu and when I continued, I was back in the starting room with all my inventory, so I was able to progress and ultimately finish the game. I am considering typing up a guide so more people can ultimately finish the game, I feel that because there are times it is not clear on what to do, some people may be discouraged and not want to continue the game. I hit that point previously, when I had originally purchased the game and gave up for a while. Only today I came back to try again and was able to complete it in one sitting, but I was also determined to see the end. Again, I feel it was a neat game and very affordable for the short experience it provides, but it has faults and can be hard to know where to go next.
Despite some technical glitches, I enjoyed this short sci-fi adventure. The cute graphics might make you think it is a light story but it is actually kind of serious and dark in some places. I got stuck a couple of times but nothing seemed too outrageous. There is an issue with scenes resetting if you go back into another area and then return, also an object didn't appear in my inventory until I re-did a scene. Still, I liked the character development and the setting. you have to like retro-graphics obviously, and sci fi. Beyond that some patience with the interface and this story can be quite rewarding. I'm glad I bought this one, a fun evening well-spent.
A very interesting retro style point and click adventure, would recommend always, even more if you feel like kind of nostalgic about those spectrum times, also nice little futuristic story to spend a couple of hours exploring this world.
It's a nice game.
It has a classic point & click gameplay, simple but very effective pixel perfect graphics, inmersive music and simple but effective sound effects.
It also has some interesting and tricky puzzles.
Resolving all puzzles quickly the game lasts about 2 hours.
