This VN is not worth it, even on sale. Its pretty bland, and rather short. There aren't any good scenes, and half of the time the game just ignores your choices. Its also riddled with bad pacing and player interactions. The art also makes most characters look like they belong in a mental institution.
I really enjoyed this game a lot. The artwork is great, the story is good (humorous and interesting with plenty of options which alter story pathways), and the R-18 patch is optional. So if your like me and enjoy raunchiness without full-on smut the option is there. It took me around 5 hours to finish a playthrough, and I read the story along the way. Mind you, I made dozens of choices on the way and intend to play again to see the multitude of story paths. Entertaining, well-polished, and replayable; what else can you ask for in a visual novel? I recommend it for sure.
Excetional good story, in the theme of Harry potter, but with a major makeover. Art work look amazing, have played for like an hour now but did not see alot of nudity, ofcourse all the girls i have seen the picture were kinda hot and the game let's you
choose which one to get a girl friend.
Some translations were kinds off, initially i thought this was a game made by western people,
but now I think it's a Japanese studio or developer.
Anyways, great game! try it if you like these kind of games, it's one of the better games i've played lately.
It was good. i liked the artwork, story, music. it took me a bit to get the patch to finally work so there can be issues. it had some really interesting artwork and 2 timed responses. only sad thing is no gallery. i also don't think the devs are together anymore, but i can be wrong. just their twitter has been dead and no real talk in announcements/forums
I have been searching for games similar to this, games that have beautiful and distinctive art design, great choice of actions, and well-made plot. Playing Oakwood Academy of Spells and Sorcery had me addicted and hooked to each route. It warmed my heart achieving good endings and gave me gut-wrenching regret to all the bad choices, luckily with the power of saving and loading game you can erase those mistakes and makeup. The only thing missing that I really wish the developers can take into account and implement is to add in a gallery so that I know I have unlocked all scenes. All in all, it was an addicting game which I had fun playing for hours on end.

The production value is clearly evident in this game, they've also done a great job designing the routes and characters, but they could use a little more work coming up with choices.
I strongly encourage everybody who is a fan of the magical school genre to pick up this game.
I agree with the rest of the reviewers- the game is pretty short. It is like an introduction to this world full of interesting characters and lore and then bam- the story ends. I would really wish to spend more time in the world and get to know more about both it and the characters. The only other mild complaint is about the discrepancy in art quality.
I love this game and only wish it would be longer. It is a good mix of interesting ideas, action, humor, and romance. I am really hoping for a sequel.

Oakwood Academy Of Spells And Sorcery is an adventure visual novel both developed and published by Tranquil Studios. You take on the role of Thomas Middleton, a first year student with aspirations to become the worlds greatest mage. Getting settled, making friends as well as enemies and finding yourself in all manner of unique circumstances all while you try to maintain your studies and attempt to master your craft. Follow Thomas on this intriguing once in a lifetime journey as he tries to make a name for himself at the Oakwood Academy.
PRESENTATION
The visual presentation of this novel is truly fantastic. The illustrations are some of the best that I've seen so far on Steam filled with wonderfully bright and beautiful colors. Also, the artstyle steps away from the heavily prevalent manga-style that so many visual novels tend to feature which is quite refreshing. Don't get me wrong because I love that style but it's nice to see something different every once in awhile and this title does not dissapoint in that aspect. Moving on...I've never been able to "get" into Harry Potter but what little I know and have seen of it this visual novel seems to be heavily inspired by in my opinion. Therefore, fans of those books and movies may get a kick out of reading this visual novel, likewise, they may despise it for resembling that particular series so closely who knows? With that said, the characters facial expressions change depending on mood so that really helps with immersion as you read through the storyline.
Also, the soundtrack is amazing and really blends in well with the mystic narrative. Sadly there are no ambient sound effects present which would additionally contribute to the immersion factor, however, you are faced with a number of decisions to make over the course of the branching story so that does help. I also have to mention that this novel is not for the faint of heart as you are introduced to some rather adult oriented situations and very spicy language from time to time. Nevertheless, Oakwood Academy Of Spells And Sorcery manages to put forth a truly brilliant presentation for the captivating narrative in this wonderful and slightly adult oriented visual novel experience.
CONCLUSION
This V.N. was a fantastic, no pun intended, read with it's "fantasy" inspired setting, terrific soundtrack and eyecatching visuals. I did find the story highly predictable in some places yet it was entertaining nonetheless. Technically, other than a minor amount of typos in the dialogue I didn't have any problems with this title whatsoever. Another small issue though would be the lack of a C.G. gallery seeing as how the artwork in this visual novel is so spectacular. On the plus side, replayablility is high due to the branching narrative and multiple endings depending on the choices that you make. As far as options go, sadly there currently are no Steam Achievements to hunt down or Steam Trading Cards to collect. The title does have the basic visual novel options for sound/music volume and text speed however. In conclusion, if you're a fan of visual novels, magic and fantasy based adventures then I think that you'll very much enjoy Oakwood Academy Of Spells And Sorcery so this V.N. is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to fans of those genres!
Were To begin? First I'll start with the positives The game had beautiful Artwork and an alright soundtrack. Now as far as the negatives are concerned I'll start with the fact that there are hardly any interactions in the game Maybe I'm just spoiled from telltail games but There was barely ever a choice in dialogue very dissapointing. And finally The content of the lets say adult Situations are so mild this game could have passed with a T rating deffenitly not worth the money. Very bad
All of the routes are very short. Nice art. There is an adult content patch. Wish they had longer more involved stories for each girl. It is like you are just getting to know your character and ---story over. Hope they have a sequel to tell the rest of the story.
This is a really fun visual novel that features some colorful characters and great artwork. The game is genuinely entertaining and funny, and the girls are all unique in their own way. Another thing I like is where each girl doesn't feel like a base model with simple changes. This is an issue with many East and West VNs. You can run through this game in just a few hours, and I felt like that was a good amount of time to spend in it. My only real complaints are lack of a gallery for the artwork scenes, and I wish the bad endings felt a little more fleshed out than re-hashing dates from other girls. Overall, I highly recommend this one, and if you want the goods, just get the patch... it's free. lol

Feels kinda strange to see so many positive reviews.
The thing that bothers me the most, is the fact that there isn't really a story. You start at a magic college, pass a few days, take some classes, do a girl and the game is over. Combined with long meaningless dialogues, every cliché you find in a cheap highschool or college movie made the game in my opinion dull, boring and a drag to read through.
Aside from that the artwork is good, style is good, backgrounds are awesome (most of them), character design is really good and the music is good too.
Achievements and a gallery are missing.
Listen, let me level with you for a second. At first glance you might get put of by the "sexual content" and " nudity" labels (or not, I don't judge). You might also get put of by the very on the nose inspiration by Harry Potter. Put that aside for a bit. If you look past the sexual content and Harry Potter inspirations you will find a honestly well written and intruiging visual novel that stacks up with the greats. Is this game worth it? Yes, absolutely. If you're just looking for a lewd adventure, it got you covered. If you want genuinely good dialogue and characters, it got that too. What's not to love? Go buy it, you silly goose!
Love this Game! still not done but the way the storyline is going makes me laugh and leaves me in awe everytime something is revealed. Definetly worth playing
Oakwood Academy as hell the artwork is awesome. Oakwood Academy has different routes with sex characters, even with some awesome magic duels and this visual novel is pretty rare considering you don't see many visual novels gives a great experience of going to an magic school better than hogwards . Oakwood Academy has alot of reread value and well worth the price and even has a patch I definitely recommend this game.
I love this game, it is funny , many different endings, amazing characters last but not least sexy story lines with sorcery characters.
It's an excellent visual novel with great story and characters. No gallery though, hope it will get patched.
Good kickstarter funded, vell naratived, not so anime styled visual novel.
