Games fun.
Worth a try.
I had such high hopes for an upgrade on my favorite war game PG II that I jumped to buy it- even at the relatively high cost, but couldn't even play the first turn. It is extremely complex to understand, and much to my disappointment, did not give the non-core units their historical designations. It mentions a manual but I couldn't find it. I feel like Steam sold me a "bill of goods"!
Scout cars need to move stop & move again in there rang of hexs in there turn.
Don't buy as cost of game sky high. yet there no way to change graphic settings. Scrolling a nightmare as it just zooms across screen. Loading the game from desktop bad as it goes through so many steps. Norway killed me as the game would stop and load every unit and game was so slow. Units are all out of time as well (like 0 panzer 3 and 4, very little arty choice. Would say buy panzer corps as it decent for it age and actually works.
A fair warning. This is a great game, but you have to invest (a lot of) time into getting to know the game. You have to read the manual and https://www.awargamersneedfulthings.co.uk/2022/06/klotzen-panzer-battles-indpeth-special.html is also helpful. Once you mastered the essentials, it becomes clear this is worthy successor for panzer general/panzercorps. I run this game on a old laptop with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 350 @ 2.27GHz and 4GB RAM without any issues, so I am confused why so many people have problems loading the game, although it certainly has some bugs. There are no cheats, but you can easily modify the file of a saved game to get e.g. extra influence or more turns. So I advice this game if you are into the likes of panzer general and are willing to spend some time learning it, (and tweaking it) if you look for a game with an intuitive interface without the need to read any manual and without any bugs out of the box, look for something else.
Game Blows! The map is cluttered with useles boxes just do not like the overall design of the game it sucked!
Occupied city's might loose your flag or any flag period which affects game or in some cases like Felix scenario if you put unit on required to conquer Portugal city and you keep unit there, scenario still shows that you not done the task. The game crashes too often. Many times yo have to replay same scenario many times as some tab pops up saying general () got promoted and after that you cant move single unit or finish the game turn. This game was too raw to be released as it is undeveloped. I lost my patience replaying same scenarios just because of some crashes.
Two very different computers, one crashes on starting Klotzen and the other crashes on loading particular scenarios, more than one but haven't tried them all. Don't bother with this unless you enjoy feeling like a beta tester, there are many better wargames out there, especially for the asking price. If you're looking for a well developed PG-like than look at Hex of Steel.
This is a interesting game, with tons of scenerios, and 70 plus maps with a branching campaign, core units to build up and carry from game to game, only issue I have with it is the learning curve, the tutorial doesn't do much to show you the ropes at all, the controls are not very user friendly and makes you wonder why they did what they did for interface and controls, but once you get past it, there's definitely alot to love about it, And the supply system is really cool but again it doesn't do a very good job at explaining what you need to know, I spent pretty much all my time online learning the dos and don'ts, but other then the poor tutorial it is a unique and refreshing break from the norm, I would definitely recommend it, the devs are very active in supporting there game and alot of love for WW2 Strategy was implemented in the game and it shows, 39.99 is steep for price but I'm good with it cause getting devs that interact with consumers is rare and a good thing, so if you like games like, unity of command 2, Order of Battle WW2 or the Panzer Corps 2 games, then definitely get it, and support the devs who put alot of time and effort into a very good game.
7/10
Nice panzer pusher game, a little deeper than Panzer Corps or Panzer General. Nice support seems determined to squash any remaining bugs. The campaign is apparently pretty deep, much more content here than Panzer Corps base campaign. Some really nice mechanics for supply so that enemy formations can be cut off, nice having commanders and consequential upgrades for units gaining experience and the game looks and plays nice. Some UI issues exist for users with larger monitors, and working through the UI system can be a learning curve, but they are being worked through by the developers. Mine fields are done really well, and I love their directional impact and the way they deprive the enemy of an approach as they were intended, but they do a bit too much damage and they are employed liberally along with bunkers. They take a significant toll, but mostly they just slow you down and make the game into a race against time. As an old guy, I would personally prefer to have an option for turn limits, at least on easier difficulty levels, so that I could play at my own pace and not suffer a defeat or a minor victory even after I have wiped the map clean except for one hex...relatively minor issues for the most part. A really nice purchase if you like WW2 strategy games in this niche, 8/10 in my first 10 hours or so.
Klotzen! Panzer Battle is an interesting and fun turn-based wargame game. At first glance, the game mechanic is similar to Panzer General / Panzer Corps, however some new features introduced by the development team expanded a lot the gameplay of Panzer Battle compared to the older Panzer General / Panzer Corps.
The Supply sistem is the new feature I like most. Securing your supply lines is now your primary concern when planning your attack directions. Supply Sources and railroads works together to keep your army up and running; but beware that railroad can be blocked by enemy units and supply sources can be bombed to nothing turning your armies in sitting ducks.
I enjoying the Klotzen game very much.
There are few issues in game that will be iron out in up coming patches, Devs here are on the ball. :)
First let’s get this out of the way, the game has a lot of rough edges. The developers seem determined to sort it all out but it will be slow going since we are talking about a (very) small development team with a limited budget.
That said, if you are a fan of the original Panzer General series, you will probably like this game and feel right at home. I did, and I played the original Panzer General at release and replayed it countless times. Klotzen Panzer Battles add a few twists to the mix, like the Generals and Unit Commanders. These guys level up during your campaign and there is a ton of traits and skills to develop them into your ideal commander. There are randomised event at the start of a scenario, and a elaborate campaign path with historical and hypothetical branches. The airforce (or Luftwaffe) works in a slightly different way, the supply system has been beefed up. The maps look great and overall the graphics and sounds are functional, and probably the best you can expect from a small outfit.
To me the game plays and feels a lot like the original, maybe one of the best clones I played sofar. Where Panzer Corps, to me at least, feels ‘digital’, Klotzen is more proper old school and ‘analog’, if that makes any sense. The game runs fine on my machine and sofar I did not encounter crashes.
For now I cautiously recommend it (there are still a few serious kinks to be worked out). If you are a big fan of the original, I would say get it, support the developers and enjoy the game for what it strives to be, an improved version of Panzer General.
I had waited for this game for sometime, having played many titles in the same genre. I almost quit on this one at first, but I must say it has grown on me. It takes some getting used to; the mechanics, UI, etc. However once you get used to these things, which is much clearer after the developer released the manual, it is a lot of fun and has potential. Also the developer is great responding to questions so that also helps.
It is as stated, a homage to Panzer General and so the graphic are not cutting edge, but nice. The game incorporates many innovative functions, and has a great large branching campaign tree, with lots of hypothetical scenarios. I wish armor units had an overun feature in this game, and the UI needs some work. Mainly the UI is to small, and strains the eyes, but the developer is already stated that they intend to address this problem. There are a number of bugs, but the team seems diligent in trying to correct them.
Overall I have enjoyed the game so far, and with every passing patch and update I feel the gameplay will only get better.
Nice game for Hex Gaming and Panzercorp Fans. Adds Role Playing quality to individual units with many Historical Leaders and grants promotions and character traits (good and bad traits/perks based on unit behavior and successes/losses.) Tons of maps and missions. Multiple choices and directions to main campaigns. More depth to attacking supply stuctures such as bridges and city supply. Really enjoying gameplay so far. Aircraft automatically get grounded during bad weather and can only operate a certain distance from a given airfield. So, planes need to be moved around to get in range of strike areas. Units can choose different methods to move based on locations. Can embark by Trains, Planes, or by Truck if unit is upgraded with a vehicle. Game is fairly easy to pick up once you play around with the UI.
Only recommendation would be to fix some of the U.I issues. Allow more customization. I would like the reports window to be expanded to a much larger size (allow user to drag to preferred size and position on screen) I find when I move windows around they will reset back to original locations. Also, its hard to go through and read action reports window. Its very small in size and I would like to expand and read details after turn has been completed. It would also be nice to have a better after action report of how many units were killed. Right now you have to go through a log and it provides basic information of units destroyed or damage dealt in a line by line log format (not bad) but, it would be nice to have maybe a pop-up summary of battle locations and units damaged or lost.
There also could be more roll over help information. Like when i roll over a unit with mouse I don't get any information one what I am looking at when learning how to play the game for the first time. Roll over info or help information would be a nice feature to have for the UI.

Krashed 5 times in a row. Lagging and very poor frame rate when computer made his moves. Unresponsive UI. Looked like it could have been a decent Panzer General Clone but pretty much unplayable in this state. :( Refund requsted.
Wow, a very deep and intricate game. I like the way it looks and the many facets of the game. A couple of things that would make the game a little better. How about some hot keys and a manual? The sleep button doesn't work for me, and if there was a manual I could read about how to use the generals as I don't quite understand how they work. Thanks for a very interesting game!
I'm a sucker for PG clones but this one is hard to love, especially at this price point.
GUI ignores just about every user friendly innovation and qol improvement from the last decade of war games. Air-force management especially aggravating. Most information poorly presented and sorely lacking crucial information. Tool tips unfinished or otherwise lacking for the most part. If there's documentation I'd love to see it because numerous mechanics have little or no explanation. Performance is a mixed bag, plays fine for the most part but on busier maps gets choppy, freezing for seconds during basic operations. Playing Sea Lion atm but it's hitching for ~10-15 seconds when selecting units, unplayable.
Edit : Seems to be related to transport reserves bugging out and the way the save files record them. Edited the 500k lines out of the save file and it ran fine, at least until the next scenario.
For a game that crashes and locks up like a motherhugger it has the gall to state that saving games is for losers, fucking rich.
Would recommend to masochistic grognards but otherwise I'd dodge this one.
It took awhile to figure things out but I think I have it down. Pretty fun strategy game now. Well worth the 4 year wait.
