Gamindustri – a world sitting at the convergence of multiple dimensions. Still an amazing game, and the best out the series.
Story:
This is divided into like five sections, so quite a long game. To sum it up, a CPU who could not control their power, ends up getting sealed away. As such, forming Zero and Heart Dimension which is linked to their existence. This as well plays into the rest of the stories, as the antagonist, a half of the CPU. Was the one planning their way, all to try and get revenge against those they thought abandoned them.
While this is a game with its humor, it is definitely the most serious and tragic one. You see as Uzume, the previous leader of Planeptune learns about her past, and despite her anguish. She will continue forward. It is a tale about loss, betrayal, but more than that. It is about the hope they had, even though Zero Dimension and Heart Dimension is falling apart, and the challenges that Uzume faces.
System:
Much improved from VII. It is linked to an AP system, which dictates how many attacks can be done a turn. Though, some of the more notable changes are to the damage calculations. Which was fixed from VII, so that normal attacks do not outdo skills. As whole, it is a much better system.
Some other changes were like with Next Forms, they are much better. Which makes using their exclusive attacks a high risk high reward, rather than in VII a high risk no reward.
Endings:
Just one, the True End. In actuality, they look to have aligned the endings. So you play through them before the True End. Which is good, story based games have always taken quite a hit with multiple endings due to continuity. If it was like a choose your own adventure, where the story isn't priority. Then yeah, it can work, otherwise, not really.
And given how long this game is, it would have been an even worse move. So the one ending is an enormous improvement.
For you to know some events that link into this game, you have to get the True End for Rebirth 3. Since it reflects back to that dimension, and explains how Croire gets captured, as well as where Adult Neptune came from.
Art Style:
Improved.
Music:
Extremely good.
Problems:
1. Neplunkler.
--> No matter which way you square it, this mode likely wasn't test or wasn't tested well. There are collision issues like in VII, and when you die the patterns are different. These combined makes it extremely unlikely to succeed. Not sure how I managed to complete these three times.
2. Post Processing Effect.
--> This reduces performance a lot, so I advise turning it off for a smooth experience.
3. Vision of Telativity.
--> The whole point of this was to link into the final battle. Changing the intro, or at least not putting it at the start does hit the narrative. It was a bad move, since the purpose is to reflect Uzume.
4. VR.
--> Why the hell isn't there a skip option? This is such a useless thing, and a waste of time. All I am there for is to play the game itself. On the plus end, download Cheat Engine, and hit the speed up to get through it fast.
Overall:
Extremely good game, with much better characters than in Rebirth 2 and 3, and well, better than all the other games for sure. The battles are very fun, and doesn't miss the mark in important battles to make it truly shine. I'd recommend giving it a go.
A very crash happy remake of a game that honestly did not need a remake. The story is the exact same, the combat has been fully reworked in a way that makes you able to replace standard attacks with special moves after the first act of the game (which you can imagine makes most fights stupidly easy), and I honestly can't tell if the game's visuals have changed. If you own or have played VII you can easily skip this title, because the little VR scenes are nothing more than a gimmick that took pride is ruining the flow of the chapters for me. If you some reason you are steadfast at seeming them you can just look them up, you wont be missing *anything*.
A great game, with a lot of funny moments.
The VIIR version add a few nice improvements to VII, like no random encounter or the fact that you automatically get the true ending.

No. Just no.
This is the VR version if the base game and there’s almost no VT content and you don’t even need a VR set to play it.
There are some improvements in the game, including improved graphics; however, the list of improvements are no where near as long as the list of issues.
Firstly, there’s one one ending to the game and no Game+. There is end game content, but that’s repetitive and not worth doing unless you are an achievement hunter. The worst part of not having Game+ mode is the balancing. The base game has three endings and it is expected to complete them in the order. This means you get to the first ending, restart the game will full resources and by the time you get to the start of the second ending, you are much more powerful and there’s still a smooth difficulty curve. In this game, you hit a wall and have to deal with the side quests till you level up / craft better gear. Speaking of which...
Secondly, the game requires crafting, which you were able to ignore last time. This is a negative, because the UI for the crafting elements is garbage. You get plans in groups and you can’t see individual plans nor can you filter them. It isn’t unreasonable to be able to look up all of the outfits I can make for Neptune to see which one is best.
Thirdly, you are constantly flooded with gear and it is nearly impossible to tell which is the better gear. This one’s stats are slightly lower, but it is also several levels lower. Should I use limited resources to level up that gear and hope it’s a better investment? There’s no way to know in the game and not enough people have played this game so there are no equipment guides out there.
There’s so much frustration that if I weren’t a completionist, I would have given up before even finishing the game.

As I lay sleeping.. I dreamed I held her in my arms.. When I awoke, Gear.. I was mistaken.. so I hung my head and cried.
