About the Game
Shield Impact is an action survival game where a gladiator with only one shield will be challenged by rising hordes of enemies in an arena in ancient Rome.

Something is rising
and it aint the shield hero
Overall Cute little game, but it doesn't give a clear instructions for the controls. It really needs a tutorial when it comes to executing special attack, spinning and shield dashes when using keyboard. You block ranged attacks with your shield and it builds up a mana bar that is consumed to perform attacks helps you to survive the waves, When you kill enemies, some will be captured in a cage ;post their death and after you release them, They will join your force and slowly you build an army.
It's endless it's quite repetitive, After 10 to 15 waves, The monsters only spawn at constant number (33) and it goes forever like this when getting to this far.
Since there is no direct draft for controls, I managed to figure out everything on my own so i hope this can be helpful for someone who is struggling with the controls
To perform spinning, Press every direction button in the sametime.
To perform special attack, stand still and press "J" or "Space" once.
To perform shield dash, Press "J" or "Space" + direction.
To perform charged shield dash, Hold "J" or "Space" then release.
Sometimes special attack won't trigger correctly and the game counts it as charged shield dash. This game works better with controller so yeah expect a little bit of bugs when playing with keyboard.
Achievements are easy to achieve, The only 4 challenging achievements are the following.
-Having 20 kill combo
(Spam "Space" when you have huge army, It bugs out the reset time and gives you endless window to count in combos )
-kill 15 with special attack
(To get this, you have to lure a big number of spawns together in late game and perform the special move )
-Play until wave 100
(You need about 1hrs and honestly it's boring)
-Surviving without releasing warriors for 5 waves
(When you start a new game, Do not release any warrior from cages until finishing wave 5, It would be impossible to do it in late game since your army gets big and they will hit the cage, In early game, you can control it easily. )

Basic and good for quick fun outlet.
Great gameplay unique 100 waves
Bad optimizations. Literally got this for the achievement. Good for some mindless fun though the price is too steep for my recommendation. Suggest getting on sale.
In 1 30 minute round, I reached wave 56, had to literally kill myself because I was getting bored of the same thing, got 3rd place in global leader boards, unlocked 95% of all achievements. I guess with more enemy and environment variations, it could be more interesting. But, in its current state, there is no reason to play again really. Got it for less than 1 dollar so it was worth for me.
fun to play for 20 to 30 minute, after that is boring no thanks,
maybe some more gamemodes would be nice. Like a mission gamemode (kill 10 enemies in 15 seconds for example), or a gamemode were you play as the enemy would be super cool.
But it's a nice little game

Game is good, however its too easy. I suggest adding a boss every 10 waves or something that can actually risk killing you.
For the price, not a bad game.
Kind of reminds me of snake
Ultrawide support not working though
Only shows ultrawide resolution, but UI always cut off (can't see power bar)
Fun little game with potential. Need a better controls page or maybe a combo page. Couldn't figure out how to shield bash the ground.

The game itself is quite fun and well made for what it is...
BUT it advertises gameplay features that are not ingame
- It says that you can play online... NOPE
[*]Local multiplayer? I couldn't get it to work for the love of me. Me and my buddy were only able to controll the same character while the other "player" was a stone statue
If these two problems would be fixed then i could recommend it but as it is of right now that's not the case
Update 08.07.2019
First things first, they have removed the part where it said that it's an online game from their store page. That means that either they falsely marketed the game when it came out or they just right out lied about it, in either case, the people who bought the game when it came out got scammed.
Secondly, the local multiplayer STILL doesn't work. I tried to get it to work with three different controllers and none of them worked so i'm pretty sure the local multiplayer is also a lie. There is an option for it BUT IT JUST DOESN'T WORK.
This is my final review of this game, i won't be visiting it again and for those who are thinking about buying this game I have this to say:
DON'T, JUST DON'T.
The single player works but it gets really boring quickly and there isn't any depth to it. You're better of spending your money elsewhere.
Even though it shows online multiplayer in the steam page of this game i cant play multiplayer with my friends ???
Fun little Game with great sound design and easy-to-learn-hard-to-master controls. I defenitly recommend this Game, but I always die when I've no energy left and the last enemies in the arena are meelee-fighters.

Excellent game. Super fun. Is it possible to play online or just local?
Simple game to learn with a skill mastery as well.. Learning all of the ways to use a shild in combat is fun.. there's a few!

It's a very simplistic game, you only have one ability, to dash, and your ennemies have very predictable movements. I got bored after playing an hour of it because ttheere was so little you could do. I like the art and design, controls are very simple and easy to use. The biggest problem is the lack of content, not surprising since this is an early access game. i would give it a 3/10
This game is a fighting game in the arena... GLADIATOR TOP!
