Overall just super fun. Gameplay, Story, Characters, all of it fun.
An absolutely entertaining game. Unlike most other dating sim games that are like 20+ hours per play through, each run lasts 30 min to an hour. That's where the fun is, finding different secret endings and discovering new things. And the characters definitely keep you from being bored. seriously these are the most lovable psychos you'll find, and the way you interact with them is equally crazy fun. Absolutely give this game a try.
This is honestly a super fun game with a TON of story lines. It is also the HARDEST dating sim I've ever played in my entire life.
This game is fun and charming on it's own. Now imagine what it would be like with friends, because for those of you who didn't watch the trailers or read the game's bio the game is a competitive dating sim. One of the most original concepts for a game in a while.
Great pacing for this turn based game play that is so much fun to experience with friends! Finding all the endings and achievements is always one of my goals.
ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER!! Got this back in 2021 to play with my friend and i'm still not bored of it. After a while you can remember all the options but even so you can still play the game (like try to 100% it).

Hilarious game, can play alone or with friends (only one of you needs to actually own the game, for up to four players).
Weird, hilarious and sometimes unpredictable! This game is amazing and actually interesting enough to replay dozens of times. There's tons of content, so it doesn't get repetitive at all.
Cards Against Humanity in video game format featuring some cool monsters!
This game is very silly and super super fun but if you're expecting something more serious or long playthroughs then I'd recommend you to keep looking. But if you're in for some good laughs, stupid jokes, crazy comebacks and consequences, odd but funny scenarios.. then this is DEFINITELY the game for you (it really is alike Cards Against Humanity, can't emphasize this enough)

Another alright game ruined by a bad dev and their false promises and lack of care for their customers.
Failed to ever delivery the sequels code, refused multiple times to resolve and then just has consistantly resorted to gaslighting denials (My kickstarter messages say otherwise).
Don't bother now. I tried you didn't want to. Now neither do I. Besides it never sat very comfortable with me all these youtubers who have built their careers on casual homophobia now getting praised for representation.
One of my favorite series with how much content there is and how fun it is to play with other folx or alone, i am a sucker for dating sims that have a bit of a twist and monster prom def falls into that. Cannot wait for monster Con :3

i really enjoy monster prom for just a few reasons
1. the game is hilarious and doesn't take itself too seriously, allowing for hilarious punchlines
2. all the characters are very well designed and written, making them feel as if a lot of care went into them
3. the game has so many branching routes that you rarely get a repeating line
I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy this game. I found it surprisingly uninteresting, which caught me off guard because this is usually the type of game I like. From the middle to the end, I was really bored. The payoff felt underwhelming, and the game isn’t as clever as it tries to be. The story just didn’t feel compelling to me. I’ve played better games in this genre, or maybe this one is just very niche—I’m not sure.
That said, I loved the art and overall design, and I appreciated that it can be modded. However, the gameplay felt slow, and it’s hard to tell if the choices you’re making are leading to the outcome you want. It feels random, but not in a good way. Among the series, the sequel (the camp one) was better, but the road trip installment was the worst—horribly boring, in my opinion.
Now, you might wonder why I have all of them if I didn’t like the games. The truth is, I fell for the social media marketing and bought them all during a sale—big mistake. My second mistake was waiting a week to play them, which meant I couldn’t get a refund. My third mistake was playing all three, hoping they’d get better.
I don’t enjoy being negative, and I don’t think this is a bad game—it just wasn’t for me. My suggestion: buy one game at a time and play it right away. That way, if it’s not your thing, you can refund it. Be aware that the other games by this developer are essentially the same experience with minor gameplay changes and varying levels of quality. Lastly, none of the games are voiced, which is a real drawback for a game that asks you to "pay attention" to the nuances of its dialogue and includes such a massive amount of it. Full voice acting would have made the experience far more engaging.

very good and yummy game
This game is perfect to play by yourself or with friends! My friends and I are all theatre majors and so we assign roles and voice act the game, which adds a whole layer of fun. Ever since we started hanging out to play this together we've gotten really close, and my friends and I joke that we owe our friendship to Liam (because hes the reason I got the game in the first place). Lovely game that has changed my brain chemistry and sense of humor forever. Thank you Beautiful Glitch :]
Cards Against Humanity: The Dating Game!
I have never played a VN before, but here is my review.
The Good
The humour is DERANGED and UNSETTLING
I averaged 3.8 "WTF????" moments a minute
It moves at a brisk pace which is nice for my ADHD
The mechanics are very easy to figure out
The art is simple, but nice
The Bad
You can't access the menu without exiting your current game. So if the music is on in game, and you minimize the game window, the music keeps going unless you want to restart your run
The characters are fairly one dimensional. Extremely funny and screwed up in the head, but still, they can feel a bit flat sometimes.
I understand it is a dating sim and the goal is to run one quest at a time, but sometimes I wish it was more a slice of life game, and I could just chill and explore without a goal. But I understand that is not this game's genre.
So my cons list is more detailed than my pro's list, but as someone who never played a VN with no expectations, I have to give this game a solid:

This game plays like a board game, and like most board games it's only fun with friends. I tried it 2- and 3-player and it was pretty entertaining. The randomness and how ludicrous some of the conversations are were pretty entertaining, and we enjoyed arguing over our answers to the "who goes first?" segments between rounds.
There are several different routes with each character, different characters to choose from, and you can have fun sabotaging each other's love lives, so it has plenty of replay value.
Definitely recommended for board game fans, just don't play it alone.
An absolutely terrifically silly ride with some heart wrenching moments. I played it with my friends and its so fun to cheer on their downfall as they fumble the bag over and over. It's less fun when you get rejected tho, but that's okay, rematch. Also Semester 2 is JUST SO GOOD. I love all the new characters and its even better that they show up in Monster Camp too.

I have played this game 100's of times and the modding community for it adds even more hours to it! If you were on the fence it is worth the whole price, and if it is ever on sale it should be an immediate grab for any sim dating lover out there.
Love this game, just be aware it's addicting but a great source of dopamine. I find myself playing when I've had a bad day and ending up giggling like a school gal throughout it.
accidentally got the ending where one of the love interests gets assassinated and everyone goes to her funeral in the credits

I believe this is one of the very few dating simulators that offer a multiplayer experience, and that alone makes Monster Prom an interesting game to play. When playing with friends it's almost like a party game, and when playing alone, it's like any other dating sim! I find it a seriously interesting novelty because not only can you help your friends pursue a certain love interest, you can sabotage or take away their date! (ᵕ—ᴗ—) Multiplayer aspect aside, the game itself has an incredible amount of scenarios, endings, and fun dialogue! The characters feel deep and have very fun/cute interactions with the player AND other characters, making them feel much more relatable. My only complaint is that routes are often locked behind RNG, this is something that I am personally not used to with dating sims, but it also makes the gameplay different each time you play so this might not be a con for a lot of you!

iconic, amazing, incredible, awesome, multi player dating sim, everyones kind of awful but also everyones monsters so its so fun. A lot of secret endings and interactions to unlock
The start of a legacy...
Monster Prom is simple in concept, but has endless possibilities of fun, especially when other players are added to the mix. Will you be competitive about your prom dates? Or will you collaborate and go for different beaus?
The writing is quirky, and may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I can't get enough of it! The team knocked it out of the park to make somewhat of a diverse mix of genre's and keep it in a cohesive and unified package.
Pros:

Cons:
Could get tiresome and repetitive for long sessions
If this is your first dating sim, don't expect this to be the norm
Not sure if this is a problem on my end, but had a couple instances where online play was disrupted by getting kicked from the lobby.
The fact I have to get specific with the cons should speak for itself. 9/10
2010 vibes and I love it! High school me would have eaten this shit up!! Very much Tumblr, fun, nonsensical, irreverent humor, if that is your style then this will be right up you're ally!
Cons:
The game mechanics are abstract and rejection after rejection hurts when it otherwise seemed you were doing well. It is not fun to brute force, and it is not fun to have to look up guides to complete everything.
To mitigate: I think the best way to play is to have a third party explain How the game works like so. Most of the love interests have 2 stats that have to reach a minimum level. When interacting with the monsters, take in their personalities and hone in on the 2 stats you think will impress them!
This game is super fun and silly. If you want to play a game that is about monster high schoolers going to prom that are quite horny and a bit freaky? THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU!

This has very easily become one of my favorite games. It has charming characters, super fun character designs, absolutely hilarious plots and side-plots and side-side-plots. It's strange, delightful, and appeals to a lot of what I'd want out of a game; typically I'm not huge on dating sims, but I'm really glad that one of my best friends recommended this to me because this is so much of an exception with the way that the stories and characters are. I've had a lot of fun with my friend(s) playing around on this game, scrambling to romance the character we've decided is our favorite for the day -- because, really, every time we think we've settled on a favorite romance-able character, we get oddly charmed by another one, too. 10/10, adore this game, very fun d:)
This game has absolutely unhinged humor sometimes (well a lot of times), but that's what I wanted.
