Nice wholesome romance game.

I finally read it and...! It's not rage inducing. It's just... Fine. Really. (I've read far worse...........)

If you are looking for a simple, nothing mind hurting and just need to look at some interactions of people in a small town? This is it. Also has Achievements too.

Artwork is nice. The Developers are pretty good at their drawings.

Oh and the stat building part? You'll get it quite easily.

Story? Every character has their own thing... I can't say you delve too deep into anything or anyone... Have you ever craved a sweet delight? Finding spilled sugar sparkling on your counter and deciding to lap it up? It's like that. It's okay... But you could go with more substance.

I mean... You DO learn about character's likes by asking them questions... All but Noah that is... He don't get any.

Also... I thought Basil was a love interest... Not her dad............. *-*

The MC... Okay, okay... She plays the teenager role really well. Not overly dramatic or anything like that... But she dislikes things and ensures everyone knows about it. Barely knows anything and is lucky at some things and yet somehow... All the guys + the female swoon over her.

You'd think people would be more interested in a custom made banana split instead of a vanilla cone with suspicious looking sprinkles. But hey! Teenagers! And... Some drama! Oh did I mention that the MC is ALWAYS right? Lol. Haven't heard that one before. Snort.

Okay that's it. I can literally sum up each character in one sentence for you and you will have read this VN!

It's... It's harmless. I can't say it will suck you in... But it will certainly make you go in search of that special dessert.

I really liked that one! I think it's one of the better Winter Wolves games.
I loved MC - she's funny, strong and pretty believable. Characters are interesting and likeable and every single route was fun (though Basil's one was unexpectedly dark). Music is chill, graphics are pretty good. And stat raising part is so easy, that I'm not really sure why it's here.
I don't know, I just enjoyed it. It's short (like really short - it took me 2 hours to 100%) and sweet.
Not sure about the price though. Yeah, it's cheaper than other Winter Wolves games, but it still feels like a lot for such a short game. If it's on sale though, I suggest you give it a try.

Rather boring and pretty short. Also the stats building is annoying, I would prefer visual novles with just plot decisions now and then but no stats crap.

Also neither pandemic nor beer involved. Misleading name :-)

The game is nice and casual. I do feel less time has gone into it compared to other titles by the developer.

But the story line to Lacey romance was cute.

However although i hope to see more titles in this style i think the game has some flaws.

Its not possible to pursue relations with all characters. And i think being friends with the others and bonding with your dad should be possible even though you're romancing someone.

Also there's very few things happening apart from quick conversations in between the work you'll go on 1 date and 2 events and that's it If all went well you'll get an epiloge where you're dating.

Love this game! Another great Winterwolves game once you get past the initial rudeness of the MC and the change in the characters is very pronounced. The romance and epilogue as well as lunch break dialogue is good. It was tricky for me to get the characters routes but I figured it out and it just took me a couple times. I wouldn't spoil anything but commitment to each character seems to be key as well as getting to them know really well. I liked the art and the voice acting was not full voice acting but still good.

Having playing C14 Dating before this and finding it okay enough to play twice, I was hoping Corona Borealis would have at least a little bit of spark to it, but it crashed and burned (much like the fireworks did in that freakish, out-of-nowhere scene in Basil's route)
This game was boring. Boring, boring, MEGA BORING. The majority of the game was going through days you schedule out for the MC, doing things like work and leisure, but you never actually got anything from it. Scene-wise, I mean. What you DID get for (some, not all of) your work scenes were brief conversations with the character whose route you were on.
I did Basil's route, and he's a totally nice guy, and I did like him. But those teensy conversations with him had no MERIT. You have, like, 25 questions to choose from, but you go through SEVERAL days with this same convo scene, so you end up selecting nearly every subject whether you want to or not. And many of these conversations ended so abruptly I wondered more than once if my game glitched! No, they just end out of nowhere! I like you, Basil, yet I feel nothing for you!
And then there's the voice acting. The final scenes of Basil's route were fully voiced (and I assume it's the same for the other routes), and it was good, but that was all. The rest of the game was stuff like "GYAH!" and "HWEH!" Basil made this weird choked-laugh noise several times and it hurt me every time I heard it. No, no, sir. And this game is so short, why didn't they just voice the whole thing? I might have liked it more if it was 100 percent voiced.
Overall, this game is a waste of time. No substance, no fun, no anything. I spent $4.54 on this game and I still want my money back.

I really liked this game! June and Basil's route was very heartwarming, my eyes watered a little bit at the end haha! About the romances routes I am pretty satisfied too! Lacey and Noah was super cute, love those twins <3 and Logan was very sweet too, I wasn't sure if I was going to like him or not given his personality, but he got to my heart xD About the stats, I am used to games like this specially since I've played other games from winterwolves so it was a breeze, except for Noah. For some reason I struggled to get his epilogue, but luckily there's a guide here to help. Other than that, everything went quite smoothly! ^-^

Another of the great Winter Wolves visual novels. Does not have any explicit content for the express reason that the protagonist (and I believe the love interests) are all 16 or 17. The main character is June, who has been sent to her dad’s for the summer. A dad she hasn’t seen or communicated with for a while. Turns out she also will be working at his café, too. There are multiple routes. One is making up with her dad (and perhaps bringing her parents back together). There are also routes involving three different love interests. Logan works hard, and expects you to do so, too. Lacey is the bubbly cashier, who may be hiding some hidden hurts. And Noah is Lacey’s twin brother, who is suffering from an undiagnosed anxiety disorder. If you choose right during their scenes you can unlock their friendship endings, or if you get their stats up high enough, their romance endings. Get their stats to 100%, and you’ll get the happily ever after epilogue.

Highly recommend.

I have a few issues with Corona Borealis – the technical side is kind of clunky, with text rollback working whenever it wants and the sound sliders not really doing what they're supposed to do (you can't fully mute the partial voice acting). The relationship flags connected to dating sim mechanics are a bit cryptic and choices sometimes counter-intuitive, so it's way too easy to end up alone or stuck with suboptimal endings if you don't follow a walkthrough.

The one major problem, however, is the game's length – all the routes feel really short and rushed, with little buildup for romance (and/or deep friendship). This is particularly painful in Noah's route, as he shows up halfway into the game and doesn't offer the small-talk sections that let you learn more about other main characters. Considering his theme is also deep psychological issues... The positive ending and healing he goes through are hardly earned here.

Still, it doesn't mean the game's all bad – quite the opposite actually, the content that is there is all quite nice. Character art by Deji is absolutely gorgeous and as expressive as always. The story features interesting themes, particularly with the route centered around the protagonist reconnecting with her father. The protagonist, June, is decently defined, with quirks and character flaws that make her a believable character rather than a simple self-insert. Also, the idea of setting the story in a small town, where June feels like fish out of the water after living in NY for most of her life, give the whole package a somewhat unique feeling. The theme is just as underexplored as all the other parts of the narrative, but it's still pretty refreshing. Romantic moments are very wholesome and the game lets you stop at the friendship level with Logan and Lacey, which is always a nice touch.

Generally, I think Corona Borealis is a positive experience and worth the humble asking price – if you're not looking for a particularly deep story and just want a pleasant distraction for one or two evenings (it's 3-4 hours of reading), it should satisfy you. With a bit more content, better polish and a more memorable soundtrack it could've been excellent, but even with all its faults I couldn't help but enjoy it all the way through. If my review didn't really convince you, consider grabbing it during sale, but generally, it's worth giving it a chance.

The game is very cute, the Basil's route melted my heart BUT the main character is a goddamn BITCH. Oh my god I really hated her most of the time.

Corona Borealis is a short and sweet visual novel that I personally enjoyed.

I'm not big on the fact that you have to get every answer "right" just to get an ending with the character you want and not end up forever alone, but I usually use a guide after my first playthrough of a game so it didn't bother me that much.

I thought the MC's personality was gonna kill this game for me at first, but I either just became numb to her or she started to grow on me, I'm not sure which. She is kinda rude for seemingly no reason most of the time, and not really in an endearing way. But by the end of the game it seems like she's grown and developed a decent bit, although the writing in this game is sort of scarce so we don't really see that growth first hand.

I don't know if it was a glitch or intentional, but on Logan's route it didn't let me have break conversations with him until almost the end of his route, which was frustrating.

But I really liked the characters, especially Lacey. She was so cute and I just want the best for her. Thank you.

The story isn't the most cohesive but it's kind of slice-of-life and works better than some of Winter Wolves' stat raising VNs.
And the art is gorgeous, really no complaints there.

Overall I'd tentatively recommend Corona Borealis, especially if you get it on sale. I believe I paid full price or near it when I bought it but I don't regret it at that price.

Winter wolves make some good games from my experience, so I decided to give this one a chance. I kept seeing if it would get better, but Unfortunately, it was a disappointment.

It just a reused c14 dating characters and backgrounds, a hell of a lot shorter (which I expected for the price), the story is meh...no depth to anyone, feels very rushed (would of rather had 2 routes with greater story), the cgs look really good but there are only a couple per route, overall it's fine but not great. I wouldn't be happy at full price but for the sale price (£3.37) I'm not that mad at it for a quick playthrough, my playtime is the whole game completed. I would say i recommend but not at full price.

I had this on my wishlist long before it ever came out, and finally picked it up last week... it ended up being my first ever Steam refund.

I've enjoyed some Winter Wolves games, but this one was extremely disappointing. It felt like a clicking sim, and the story (if you could even call it that, I'm still not sure what the overall plot was since some random almost magical/high-fantasy? stuff happened in the middle of the game and never came up again) was not at all cohesive. In the route I played the (somewhat rude) MC went to stay with her dad for the summer, and ended up working in his cafe. Within 20 minutes and some "play next week" clicks, my I had about 5 conversations with my romance option, mostly about the espresso machine, and then he told me he loved me. On top of that, most of what I learned about the character came from others and not even himself. After that I was thrown into an epiloguewhere we were married and the MC was pregnant??? When did we even get together? And that was that.

Most of your time playing this game will be spent clicking through the days with no dialogue to boost "stats", and when dialogue does come up most of it is extremely shallow. Seriously, I think the guy called the MC smart during his confession because she figured out how to make coffee quickly (I guess he just ignored the fact that she didn't know how to wash dishes).

I cannot recommend this game, even when I bought it on sale.

Corona Borealis reminds me of another Winter Wolves game called Winter in Fairbook. Both are about a young girl who goes to a small town to work and ends up finding love. However, I liked CB more than WIF because the characters in CB are much less obnoxious imo.

Overall, it's a mediocre game. It's not a bad way to pass the time but the dialogues are kinda cringey and the characters are sometimes annoying. I would have given it a negative rating if it wasn't for the super sweet epilogues. I just read Logan's epilogue and it was so cute that I decided I couldn't give this game a bad review.

I recommend it to visual novel fans that are looking to read something light and short.

Corona Borealis is a sweet, lighthearted VN. The length is on the shorter side, but I had a good time playing it. I liked all of the characters and their routes and really enjoyed seeing how each character's relationship with June developed. The questions part of the game was also very entertaining. I had fun getting to know about each character's likes and dislikes, relationships, future plans, etc. Some of the questions led to really funny answers. A simple stat-raising system...great art...good voice acting...pleasant music...
It's a solid 6/10 overall.

the game is sweet and charming and its relatable on some of its content. i like the many routes that u can choose from and how each character has their own shruggle.


with Basil and Lacy be honest with them it helps

I... Honestly liked this game quite a lot. Sure, it has mostly partial voice acting, but as an avid JRPG player, that hardly bothered me, in fact I kind of like it. There were even some fully voiced scenes, which were quite nice. (Also Justin Briner was in it. I love his voice so dang much!) And while I enjoy a good romance, the inclusion of a family reconciliation route was a nice little addition. Sure, the game was pretty short and mostly fluff, but between all the dark and often emotionally deep VNs I usually play (looking at you Psychedelica series.) there's nothing wrong with a sweet little game made specifically to make you feel good about life.

The game and the characters look good, but that is about all positive I can say. If you played Winter Wolfs before, too much background is recycled. The laguna, the party scene, many of them seen before, I think even the barrista inside I have seen used before.

There is hardly a story, most is work, get the high enough numbers, and mind-read via telepathy the right questions. If you don't do 100% the preset route you end up alone. Which isn't really fun. Most days pass like a schedule without anything happening. Even with being cheap, there is hardly a story. I really used to love Winter Wolf games, but this is going like milking on the past glory. When I end up alone without following a detailled walkthrough, I dont feel like playing a game.

And then the voices suggested... there are no voices other than "ah" and "ok" now and then.
