It's great fun. You can play a few rounds quickly, in between stuff you have to do. Getting a hang on it is easy.
Mastering it takes time though. Matchmaking is working well. Practice rounds are great to get started. Haven't had that much fun since a long time.
Feels like a casually paced RTS. I was surprised how feature rich the game is and feels much more chunkier of a game than other autobattlers. The team has done a wonderful job of balancing the units and there never feels like there is a single unit that can carry.
I've been enjoying the heck out of this game.
The game can be a little overwhelming at first with quite a lot of different unit types available to choose from. Also each unit has multiple upgrade options which adds some extra flavour to your games.
Once you have an understanding of what units are strong vs other units and how to counter pick your enemy it can be a very rewarding win when you are on the brink of defeat. I've had a few rounds now where it looks like I was going to be stomped, only to turn the game around with 300hp remaining to take home the win.
9/10 Highly recommend. The only reason this does not get a 10 from me is that the chat box is right in the middle of the screen and it pops up when I'm trying to recruit new units from time to time.
Mechabellum fills a tactical niche that has only been scratched in Starcraft II mods. A tactical game of chess where unit positioning and selection will be your victory or downfall. After almost three hundred hours, I'm still learning new tactics and seeing my opponents do new things I'd never thought of. With the addition of new units the game has a deep richness even after you know all the units and what they do. With no two matches ever being exactly the same. Add in 2v2 and 4 player brawl modes, you can bring a friend for double headed giant shenanigans, or experience a slightly more casual but no less competitive PvEvP with a group.
One thing I would like to see is a better pure Player vs Bot mode, while the current 'endless' mode is fun for a time, the experience is limited. Which can be a detractor for those seeking a game with more of a AI experience.
Warning!
Do not install this game. It's really good and I haven't closed the game since I bought it. I only poop every 2 business days now and my chair has a permanent sweat mark . My wife and kids have left me, good riddance its hard to play when my wife is yelling at me. It takes 300,000 combat power points to unlock the avatar frame I want and the season was ending soon, had to miss pooping that day but it wasn't that bad because I hadn't eaten anything the previous day. Because of this minor distraction I missed my sons graduation last week. Wife kept unplugging the wifi so I called her a whore and she divorced me two days ago. Haven't turned up to work for two weeks and I presume I'm fired since I have costed my company millions in fines by now. I work as an electric grid operator. Since buying this game I have not showered nor have I changed my clothes. It will all be worth it, don't be jealous when I make it to E-sports
Understand this:
Once you purchase this game you don't own it. The game owns you
Each game is short and fun to play, easy to learn but hard to master
It was all worth it, I regret nothing and If you had a blackout recently, I'm sorry but I was busy playing Mechabellum
Highly addicting and highly recommended!
(Devs: Please allow me to disable emotes!!)
The concept of the Starcraft 2 Arcade map 'Direct Strike' pushed to the next level. It's really well-made and really fun.
Since the basic concept of this game is simple, I'm not going into detail. I advise looking up a gameplay video for those who don't know how it yet. A short video will tell you everything you need to know.
The only negative of this game for me is the public chat that needs to be everywhere for some reason (even during matches). It's also hardly moderated, so be prepared for the inflammatory texts targeted at minorities, slurs, raging about other players, etc. You'd think that in a time of good AI they would have some automated moderation going on.
Best game in quite a while.
Like chess it is easy to start with but hard to master and it is very well balanced...
Addictive but battles are short enough not to become an excessive timesink
Introduction
Feel free to read my hot take.
Mechabellum is a strategy game that pits players against each other as they build armies of robots with different upgrades and leveling. While the game appears as a "deep strategic tactics game," it is more of a rock-paper-scissors game that depends heavily on countering the opponent rather than following a particular strategy. Using RNG elements such as dice in commander selection or extra units/upgrades detracts from the game, and it ends up being an infuriating mix of luck and lots of unbalanced units. The game also lacks any substantial single-player, so it is a multiplayer game. Read more if you wanna know my hot take *wink*.
A Strategy Game In Name Only
Mechabellum is in my opinion, not a strategy game. It relies a lot on countering, and following one strategy usually ends in one being obliterated by the opponent. Each round players get cards to use and what you see is what you get, which takes away the player's choice in how the army is built and pushes towards a specific type of unit to get the most out of it, or one can do what they want and suffer for it. The philosophy of the game itself is a contradiction, as it tells you to "use this unit instead" all the time in your ears yet if you want to win you have to counter, so how does it work? Easy, you hope that what the game wants you to play also counters your opponent.

Despite what fans and developers say, Mechabellum is an unbalanced mess when it comes to its units. The best example is the "Melting Point," a giant robot with big lasers that destroys everything. The Melting Point can attack all types of units, has a lot of damage while being tanky and one of the upgrades literally says "60%HP increase plus lifesteal" which is absurd when all other units get increases of 12-30% at best in general. Every time that unit appears it is almost impossible to win, and if your opponent gets a better RNG and capitalizes on max ranks, you are done, put the keyboard away and make tea cause you are not winning that match.
Adding To Frustrations: Lack of Quality and Hacker
To make matters worse, the game is severely missing a lot of quality-of-life implementations that would benefit it. These can range from an undo button that is missing in the planning phase, crashes, unit drops being broken and the community being as toxic as can be. It results in a recipe for disaster, and had I mentioned your units move by themselves? Granted, is okay or it would be, if sometimes your units wouldn't make the worst moves imaginable and throw the match.

Adding to that are the hackers or cheaters (pick your name) which really ruin the game for me, they aren't as common but when they show up you are pretty much guaranteed to be robbed of a win and it feels bad.
Some Good Points About The Game
Wouldn't be an unbiased review if I only talked negatively, so here are some good points. I like the look of the game and the price range is acceptable. It can be fun and some matches are a blast to play through, but there are also some matches where you will feel like buying this game was a huge mistake.

The unit diversity and their designs are pretty slick, sadly held back by unbalanced overpowered units making half the roster forgettable. I enjoyed the upgrade mechanic where all units get the same buff if they are the same one and honestly, 4 players Free For All matches are super fun with a lot of chaotic action! I think if Mechabellum wants to pursue its current path, a brawler FFA fits the game better than the 2VS2 or 1VS1, if they wanna pursue the latter then they need to diminish the RNG and go back to the drawing board of what makes a good strategy game.
Conclusion
Overall, Mechabellum fails to deliver as a strategy game, and to be honest if you are not short on money, there are way better choices out there to enjoy when it comes to tactical games. If you read this far, thanks for going through what perhaps is one of my most negative reviews. 90% positive is bound to make me look like a fool but I didn't like the game and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It is in equal measure a fun game and a frustrating one. If you are looking for a side game and don't mind losing to RNG, hackers, and OP units, there is perhaps some fun to be had. Otherwise stay away, especially if you are competitive or are looking to grind ratings in your matchmaking.
5/10 MEDIOCRE
If you consider your time or money precious don't waste them in this game, but it will pass the time if you have nothing better to do.

Just buy this game and rip, it's so easy to figure out and have fun but so hard to get good at. Really great balance and a blast to play
The game is so slow. It's a kinda of fun game with a bunch of flaws.
I have a love hate relationship with it.
This game is really fun but the frequent crashes is ruining this game for me
Yeah well, it's so addictive and fun. Tactical Autobattler supreme. Love it, even as a casual.
Didn't know what to expect getting this game but it's cool haven't played an auto battler before. 4 Way Brawl is very enjoyable lol
Great if you like strategic PVP, not much in the way of campaign or solo play (there's survival mode which is fun for a bit). It's all about coming up with counters to various army compositions. Feels great to mount a comeback from the clutches of defeat.
TLDR: Perfect game for old men to enjoy their coffee with.
Surprising depth for an auto-battler, though still an auto-battler with the all the limitations that comes with genre. I really appreciate that games are quick .
Really good strategy game that's just plain fun, been playing since early access and it's still getting constantly updated and balanced by a passionate developer that takes part in competitive tourneys. Has a lot of depth and strategy but ideal for short play sessions or low time investment on and off irregular play. It's an autobattler but don't let the word autobattler dissuade you if you think it will be boring or unengaging based on others in that genre as the word almost doesn't do this game justice, it's more like RTS concepts applied to turn based gameplay with roguelike elements, it's certainly the most complex and deep autobattler ever made and doing something new within the strategy and autobattler genres.
The card drops between each rounds adds a lot of variety and fun with the chaos they bring that's like a roguelike game, there's no solved game states like Chess because you can't predict random elements that will come up in each match and must adapt new strategy each game. Big learning curve but also really easy and approachable game to jump into and start playing against other players. I highly recommend to strategy fans.
Deserves more players! Defo not perfect but still a great game especially for the price
Match consistency of a half cooked rotisserie chicken.
It really doesn't feel like a strategy game so much as just rolling the dice in each match.
A fair and fun game where every loss is a lesson learned and every victory is a battle hard fought. PvP and 2v2 is a great time
This might be the first review I've ever written, in 15 years, but this is my favorite game in years. Perfectly blends the auto-battler and RTS genres, and the randomness keeps every game fresh. GOTY 2024, here.
I suck too. Don't let fear of playing against others drive you away, I'm garbage and still have a blast, even when I lose. Games are quick enough that I don't feel like I've wasted my time. Chef's kiss!
I can't recommend this game. In no way shape of form, can I recommend this game. Does it have the potential? Absolutely...
That being said, so long as the unit "Melting Pot" is in the game - it's not worth it. You will be absolutely crushing an enemy, they'll spawn in one Melting Pot. You lose. Every time.
This game isn't balanced. The few people who are playing, are absolutely just abusing a broken meta and thinking it's strategy.
This game was amazing in early acces but since they added the unit drops, it isnt the same anymore. To much RNG was implemented. This Game could be so so good for competetive players but the unit drops ruined everything. Im gonna change my review to positive, if they finally remove that sh*t. If you'r a casual player, you will have some fun for sure.
Alright.... REVIEW TIME.
The game is good. Very good. I would recommend to anyone that want to wiggle their brain a bit.
Personally, the doesn't hook me in to play it solo, but I gladly will play this with friends. That's why I don't have at 100 hours at the time of writing. Although I haven't played this game as much as my friends or people that bough it during early access, I still very much enjoy it. But my emotions after each session it comes out as mixed due to not having enough skill to win matches at a reliable level and because my internet friend annoys me with his increased health pool in custom matches.
In my opinion increased custom matches works only in one scenario when both players are of equal skill. But when you or the opponent mess up their composition or just one of you doesn’t know what is your general strategy, then the match becomes miserable and it’s not fun to wait until you eventually loose.
But I digress, that doesn't stop me (nor it should you) from liking the good parts of the game. And that's literally the rest of the game. So first let me explain what this game is if you have zero knowledge about it. In its core it is an Auto-Battler where the player places units on the battlefield and then these units go smash each other heads in. The army that loses the round, loses life points. The battle continues until one is standing victorious. Seems simple enough. But where this game differentiates itself from the competition is that unique combination in its unit and gameplay design.
Units come in 3 types of flavors: Light units, Medium units and Heavy units. But I would be lying by saying that the Light units are only meant to be chaff or Medium units are meant for support and Heavy units are only meant for dealing heavy damage. But au contraire, my dear reader. That is not the case.
Each unit is designed to have their own specific role on the battlefield and has a specific unit (or a group of units) that counters it. Each unit also have their own specific upgrades that can turn your unit into a major advantage or a disadvantage which can be exploited by the enemy. Every unit can also be leveled up just like in other Auto Battlers during play, but unlike others where you need to purchase multiple of the same unit in order up upgrade them, the designers made it the process a lot simpler by granting Experience points to the unit that deal the killing blow to the opponents’ unit. When your unit has enough experience points you can pay money to upgrade them to the next level. Every time you level up your unit, its base health and damage is multiplied by its level.
Basically, instead relying on RNG to give the right unit, it all depends on the player where they place the unit, the unit composition and which unit attack which unit. In this Auto Battler positioning is key: placing a unit too close to other units and the unit that you are trying to protect might be targeted first. Too far way and your units will be dealt with one by one. It’s a delicate balance that the player needs to understand and has to have a feel for it. And do not neglect leveling up your units because units with certain upgrades and high enough level can cost you the match.
Another key difference between this and other games in the genre is in the gameplay design. Although Mechabellum supports 2v2, Free For All and versus AI modes, the game from the ground up is designed to played in a 1v1 format. Many companies have tried out making an Auto Battler, have tried out with various systems with a pseudo 1v1 format, where you play 1v1 but then the opponent is constantly changing. Mechabellum has none of that. You focus your attention on one opponent. Which in hindsight makes a lot of sense especially when both sides of the board have towers that need to be protected.
Now losing the towers doesn’t necessarily mean you have lost the round (at least in 2v2), but instead the towers apply a speed, damage and defense debuff to all your units. So you want to protect your towers at all costs. You can negate some of this effect by upgrading your towers. This will increase their HP and if it goes down, it will reduce the amount of time your units are affected by the debuff.
The towers make the game more tactical as it shows the player a clear objective what they need to achieve to win the round. You are not making the most broken composition, but instead you are making a composition that can break then opponent’s army in two. So setting up your unit upgrades is a must. And the way you choose the upgrades will consist of your overall strategy and attack doctrine. At this stage you are prepared as you can be, but even during each battle the unexpected happens.
During a match, players will receive 1 out of 4 reinforcement packages. The kicker here is that both players receive identical reinforcements so you can predict what the opponent is going to do and plan out your next attack. This brings another layer tactics that I haven’t seen done in previous games (that I’m familiar with). Reinforcements can come in a form of a unit (or multiple units), skills, equipment or specialists
The only matching similarity between all the Auto Battler genre games is money. Money is the life blood of your army. Gaining more money means you have more options and everything costs money. Everything from unlocking and purchasing units to buying supporting abilities from towers and taking reinforcements. Even though the amount of money increases per round, the amount of money you get is limited, so you have to spend it wisely. You always have a choice to borrow money, but that has a consequence of getting less money for the next round.
There is lots more to talk about this game. The individual upgrades, the strategies, how each unit works and lots more, but this has been too long of a “review” so I’m going to leave with this. I wish this game the best. I really do. I think the developers have made a truly unique experience (even though I’m not really good at it). But… there is one thing I want address before I end. I’m concerned for the games future. In the modern video game landscape what it is right now, I hope that the devs do not over develop the game and add too many unnecessary features which overtime could downgrade the game. Even if there are examples of games that have many years’ worth of content and stick with the player base, at some point it is just daunting for a new player to join the game. Especially if it’s a live-service. But so far I have full trust in the devs that they will take care of the game.
I like that its like Giant Robot 3D chess in terms of positioning units but with a 4th dimension which is TIME, when to tempo up an advantage or sacrifice a round to save up for that long term benefit.
I love the Rock-Paper-Scissors, or Tank-Chaff-Sniper, counter plays filled with devious tech upgrades that can turn the tables on you round after round. Is your mechanized cannon fodder getting obliterated by tanks? upgrade their speed! have them burrow underground! or simply give them a shield!
I dislike the time crunch, especially in the later rounds, when there are too many options to micromanage until you run out of time and lose because you couldn't place down or spend all of your credits. Sometimes this is due to Lag, technical difficulties, or simply Panic settling in.
BOTTOM LINE: A strategy game with Giant mechs fighting Flying fortresses with other robots scattered about is a WIN in my honest opinion.
Neat and beautiful game, but requires too much memorization of icons and abilities and counters for someone like me. I can see why people who want to devote the time to learn all of this would find it fun.
Visual stunning game, very relaxed to play and extremely fun, especially if you like games such as chess.
Choices really matter and snowballing is countered quite well, something I really like and in some games can be broken. It is very strategic in a satisfying way. Excellent unit balance.
If I have any cons to say then it is mainly that the multiplayer can be improved. Often you enter rooms but all players must press ready which if one player doesn't (or in 1vs1),.. everyone leaves again. It is quite annyoing and sometime frustrating to find matches. I do enjoy myself vs AI but wish there where some more game modes or ways to easily match up. Ranking info is btw vague and unclear.
It's simple yet complex and while the games are pretty quick it will devour your time with the "just one more round" phenomenon.
That being said with no doubt will get less fun with time as people leave and only tryhards stay. Best to buy ASAP and enjoy it with other newbies :)
(I do have hope this game won't experience this too soon though, looking forward also to the balancing patches)
A very unusual game to be sure. I have a unique love for it even in spite of how bad I am at the game.
In short, it is a strategy game that plays itself. The game operates in rounds, letting you place, upgrade or unlock skills for units as you progress. Each game can play out different, and you cannot, and should not, expect your strategy from last game to work the next. Swarm units that overwhelm high damage single units, units with flame weapons to clear out small fry enemies, units with burst damage that try to kill a target in a single blow, burrowing units that can only be struck when attacking, air units that are immune to some tanks and weapon types.
If you play every round the same, eventually, someone will find a chink in your plan and exploit it. In my experience, it is impossible to be ready for everything. And I love that about this game, the tide of battle can change completely from one round to the next.
Takes a bit to figure out, but has become one of my favorite strategy games since RUSE.
Just make sure you have chaff, enough anti-chaff for your opponent, then find the late-game balance with mid/large/giant units.
only fun if you like to over study all comp and counter indepth. im not here for chess, im here for robot slugfest
MechaBellum is a visually stunning game, but its reliance on random elements can often feel overwhelming. It almost seems as if you're playing a card game where, in the next turn, your opponent might randomly receive a unit that completely counters everything you have on the field. This level of unpredictability detracts from strategic planning and makes the gameplay frustrating at times. Unfortunately, this has led me to the decision that I can no longer enjoy playing this game due to its excessive randomness
Good game play and solid unit balance but the game is heavily ruined by side lanes on the battlefield. Overall not worth the experience.
Great auto-battler. You need to use every bit of tactical sense you've got, because just dumping some units on the battlefield won't cut it. And you can use different build's on your units so each battle is not like the last. There is a lot more to this game then meets the eye, go check it out.
I love the game, but I simply cannot suggest others play it, with the current state of the chat.
Racism is just rampant, talking shit about LGBT+ is rampant. You have to scroll through constant vitriol if you try to ask a game question. It's fucking disgusting how bad this playerbase is. I've seen tamer talks get people banned from LoL.
180hrs and never touched MP XD
practice/survival mode only perfect for a game or 2.
only gripe is the AI doesn't seam to flank anymore since the unit drop update, and ai also doesnt seam to move unit card drops, so it just ends with a big blob of units in the middle.
Easy to learn but hard to master.
Game is frequently updated with new units and balance changes. FFA mode is a blast to play.
Best balanced Strategy Game. Great Graphics, easy to understand and chill fun experience!
As it is currently, the game suffers from hackers - not the unit in the game, though some complain on it.
"There is an error in your data, please log in again"
The game logic is simple, and it's an autobattler, therefore all logic should be evaluated on the server. And yet it seems it isn't, and whenever you end up winning against a hacker, especially if you do in a nasty way, he will launch the drop hack and you will lose.
It happened to me about 10 times already, not a lot for 116 hours, but it didn't happen on low mmr (because if you cheat, you're unlikely to have low mmr, therefore you won't see hackers on low mmr), as well as I spent quite some time beating all survival levels (no real reward for beating the highest level).
All but one or two of those were against a player with chinese characters in his name. The game devs are Chinese BTW.
Absolutely all of them were when I was winning, or (2 of them) when I was losing, but suddenly had a game-changing round - it wasn't a secured win yet but it definitely looked like a very frustrating outcome to the opponent.
It seems some people have this error due to hardware issues, but this case is clearly different, as they get the error much more regularly than 10 times in 100 hours, and indiscriminately with no correlation to player nicks or in-game circumstances.
If you don't mind being robbed from a win every now and then in an annoying fashion, then this is a very decent game. To get a feel of it, download Starcraft II (it's free) and play "Direct Strike" mod. IMHO Mechabellum is better, though actually not optimized as well and gets laggy faster as the unit count grows, and there's many more units to choose from - but I found Mechabellum to feel more strategic.
So overall, if the drop exploit is fixed, I'll change the review to positive. For now I'm taking a break from the game because I'm simply frustrated, and there's no meaningful single-player experience in the game.
This has been a really fun game to play. It feels like I am playing Star Craft/Age of empires/Supreme commander without having to manage micro and macro at the same time ( Which my slow brain cannot handle the high APMs required to play those games well ). It allows for good macro strategy in a cool auto battler style. At a 15$ price point I can't recommend this enough!
Very fun game. Easy to get into and lots of room to grow and express yourself as a player. Highly recommend!!
very broken.
constantly reseting my placements...lag...lag and more lag.
doesnt refresh screen between battles more lag.
i cant move a single unit acros the map because it keeps reseting the placement.
Don't waste your money on it as i did.
I cannot in good faith recommend this game.
It looks fun. It has some, apparently, simple mechanics, but at its core it suffers from a cult of personality and a bunch of narcissistic wannabe influencer personalities.
When you start playing the game there are some fun mechanics and interactions.
Who doesn't want to envision themselves as the commander of massive mechs that are striding across the battlefield to lay waste to their opponent?
Who doesn't want to imagine your air superiority fighter craft dodging stray shots as they land killing blows on your enemies air units?
Who doesn't like the idea of a forty story tall flamethrower mech?
These are all really cool ideas, but in their execution they fall over like a geriatric stumbling after the pudding cart. It's sad, its easily preventable, and it shouldn't have been as bad as it is but suddenly ribs are broken and a hip needs to be replaced.
This game tries to pretend that it involves strategy and skill but, with the blind pick into your opponent, it is just hiding its complete RNG based gameplay behind a, very, thin veil of decency.
Just to be clear, this game can and will screw you over by either A. having your blind pick starting units be completely countered by the opponents blind picked starting units and B. can, will, demolish any build you are working towards with idiotic between-match free unit selections.
For example; if you choose a character that has big Tarantula spider bots, that are close range anti-infantry bots, paired with the infantry Fang bot, as your blind picked unit start, but you get sent into a match where your opponent has chosen the long range missile bot Stormcaller and has Arclights, a laser shooting anti-infantry mech, you are going to lose.
You might not lose the match, but you are 100% going to lose the first couple rounds. Not because of skill. Not because of ability. Not because of placement.
Purely because your opponent had the ability to choose units that counter pretty much every starting choice.
This is not helped by how, between rounds, there will be unit drops. Events where you and your opponent are offered a choice of higher tier units that you can either pass, and get some additional cash to buy something else, or you pay to get access too.
These unit drops, combined with the blind pick counters, can AND WILL ruin builds by round 3. Where you now are massively behind, and when combined with the limited options for placing units each round (2 base per round) you are going to very much running uphill trying to win.
You likely won't.
Because when you face off against people of similar skill levels they can see what will work vs you and they will take it. It is no longer about how skilled you are vs them. It is 100% based on 2 things; did you get blind pick countered or did you get fucked by a unit drop that gave your opponent a way to counter something you did way earlier then they should have?
The answer is typically 'Yes'. I have had plenty of strategies ruined in games because of rare units that are only available in the late game suddenly being made available two, three, or even four rounds before they are regularly feasible.
This is beyond infuriating. There are certain units that only win early. There are certain units that require build up to do decent. There are certain units that only are able to be purchased late.
By giving a Round 8 unit to an opponent at Round 3/4 it now makes the game a arms race of 'did you pick the broken unit or somehow position yourself before it was ever offered to counter it?' Which it is vanishingly rare to be in a position to counter such a unit at Round 3/4 or even 2.
More likely the unit is offered and then you have to hope that you somehow positioned yours in a manner that makes it so you don't get screwed.
The same applies to the spell cards. All of these cards do nothing more than either making someone win harder or delaying things for a round. If there is a fundamental flaw in your opponents board, or yours, taking a Nuke that destroys half the board, but is only available every 4 rounds, isn't going to change that.
These random chance things and blind pick counters are just the tip of the shit iceberg.
Great looking game. Great premise. Incredibly flawed execution and now has the additional fun flavor of non-tested beta units being added into the game with mechanics that have no counter or even thought into how it would impact gameplay! (this is in relation to a unit being introduced that has the ability to go literally invisible and untargetable but still burst damage targets down, it does come out of invis to attack but then goes immediately back into it. essentially making it untargetable for most counter picks)
In conclusion, go play any other auto-battler. This one needs more development time and for the main dev to get out of their influencer bubble they are trapped in and look at the game from a regular consumer standpoint.
They're trapped thinking that the best way to build a daily driver car is to query NASCAR drivers for what makes their cars great. Wrong feedback source for your common demographic.
Who the game is for.
1. Thinkers. Big ole wrinkly brained gamers ready to out think and out maneuver their opponents.
2. Boomers. Are you tired of getting destroyed by teenage FREAKS shooting gfuel into their veins? Then look no further, in Mechabellum reflexes are optional.
3. Chads. The coolest of gamers with chiseled jaws and immactulate hair lines.
Who the game is not for.
1. Tik Tok kids with society induced ADHD
2. Fortnite enjoyers
3. Window lickers, rock eaters, knuckle draggers, or other loveable smooth brained specimens, there are many games for you my friends, but you should leave Mechabellum to the 200 IQ rocket surgeons like myself.
Overall- Robot cool, game fun, go buy now.
P.S. Mute the public chat for your own sanity.
One of the best game out there
I like that this game is mostly about your decisions. If you observe better and make better decisions than your opponent, you win.
This game is balanced as heck. Units are fun and diverse, strategies are unique and counter-play is interesting. Would highly recommend
7 hours in and this game is great. It is deep tactically, it requires thinking and pretty often the outcome of the match is not decided until very late into the game - even if one of the players is snowballing from the start, which seems like a sign of good balance.
Great game!
I liked playing Starcraft, but I never really cared for the micro, managing expansions, and really the fast pace in general. This game scratches the itch without all the stuff that drove me crazy.
Kind of like a game of chess, except, the devs seem to have their heads up theirs and take forever to make balance changes that are so clearly needed. If you manage to play games without OP units ruining everything then it's a pretty fun auto-battler. They use a LOT of rng to make every match feel different, which is great, but some units capabilities are definitely rng which can be very frustrating.
Also, has a lot of features that honestly take larger studios forever to implement (IE. rejoining if DC). Hopefully they start taking balance changes soon before everyone loses their minds.
Forewarnin, has a very big mtx in-game store already.
Its a cheap fun game where you set your units and strategy and then watch as they get murdered by a unit you didn't consider to counter
Fantastic game! Very complex autobattler with far, far more strategic depth and complexity than the usual fair (TFT, Auto Chess, etc.). Also kind of an RTS for people with no micro skill, like myself. I really love this game. Great visuals, too, it's actually fun to watch the robots fight, rather than just staring at the health bars. All of this at an incredible price! Strongly recommended.
