if you're a biker and a gamer there's so much fun to be had on track one i haven't even looked at the rest yet. highly recommend this game
Xbox controller support has been broken for at least over a year. As a rider who is currently going insane with this Canadian winter I would really love to jump back in. When I tried this game in its early days I really loved it, but wished there was controller support. Coming back after learning that it was added, only to discover that it was broken.

One of if not the most immersive games I have ever played in VR. The feeling of being there is dead on, and the game just happens to be one of my favorite racing games period. I'm really thinking of upgrading my rig to get this to run on maximum. It's that good.
Edit: If any of you have this problem, the solution I found was to uninstall the game and delete the entire V-Racer file from your registry (be careful when editing yours).
Would potentially have given this an okay review but after trying the xbox controller setting I cannot progress past the loading screen where it requires me to push start.
Since Xbox controller is selected the hands don't show so I can't push the start button or change the setting. If I use just the xbox controller the point marker based on headset gaze doesn't work and no button push will move it to the menu.
I've deleted all of the my document files, no joy. Uninstalled the game, no help.
Now I have a game I cannot play AT ALL because I can't push one button, not with my vr controllers, not with headset gaze and xbox controller, not with keyboard.
Fix this and I may alter this review, there are many positives in this game but this problem is unacceptable.
best racing game on VR. doesn't require any fancy setup, works just great with your HMD and touch controllers.
Not just the best VR racing game, but the best motorcycle racing experience that can be found for those familiar with the mechanics of an actual motorcycle. You have to lean off the bike for turns, you have to know when to rip the throttle and when to just glide it into a corner.
If the devs wanted to release more DLC and charge for it, it would be an instant buy for me. As it is, this game is insanely underrated
Much as I enjoy this game, and love arcade racers in the vein of F-Zero and Wipeout in general, this game is abandonware. there have been no updates since 2021 and there's been no contact from the studio for a while. Also pretty sure the online is fully dead.
A shame, because the core game is actually really fun - if you do pick it up though, expect it "as-is" - there likely wont be any new tracks or events, and you'll be racing against CPUs.
VR Hoverbike racer with excellent customization, races, and options. Think Jet Moto + That one motorcycle game at the arcade. Loads of fun, hop on a friggin bike, baby.
Instantly my favourite VR game, but I know thats very subjective. I do have crazy VR Legs, after doing two time trials I went into the settings and disabled the tilt comfort feature and turned the align view to bike tilt all the way up. Then I went into the controls and turned on the feature that lets you turn the bike by raising or lowering either hand (like if you were leaning your whole body). Now I sit on the edge of my chair with my feet back and tilt my whole torso and arms just like if I were riding a real bike. Its absolutely a rush but I don't have a nauseous bone in my body when it comes to VR, I think it would probably be fine for most people but whos to say everyones different, I've got 6-700 hours in vr.
The excited chugging sound of the bike when I hit the brakes and then mash the gas again really gives me Episode 1 Pod Racer vibes not to mention the ludicrous speed of the game. Meanwhile the set and setting of the game remind me strongly of playstations Wipeout series, even the career mode and combat modes have elements of it and I think thats just great. There is nothing VR needed more than an awesome high speed racing game with immersive physical controls and this is it.
A+
Might be the best motorbike game yet. It is a great hoverbike arcade. With VR and the haptics it is the most immersive and real feeling motorcycle game i have ever played. Be warned, although there is no chance of significant injury, it will give your back and core a good workout (only if one chooses to play it like that). it can be as simple as a gamepad.
This game in my view is one of the most beautiful looking and immersive racing experiences in this futuristic style, the leaning mechanic works really well and the latest mega update has overhauled the menu system and made it even better than ever - outstanding job devs!
A selfish request - please make a real motorbike racing game using the same hover bike mechanic as I think it would be completely amazing.
This game is FANTASTIC! The handling and feeling is incredible. No motion sickness surprisingly.
Just started playing it and I didn’t discover all things but I really love it. Sounds are a little bit annoying but it doesn’t break the fun.
This really is an amazing game. There are lots of tracks, gameplay is loads of fun, and the bike customization tool is great. You can literally paint your own bike and add decals and stuff to make it truely unique to you. The only "downside" to this game is that it takes a bit of practice to get competent at riding. But once riding starts to feel like second nature to you, the amount of fun you'll have will skyrocket.
This is a very basic racing game that feels really good. Unfortunately, like many multiplayer vr games, the experience is ruined because there aren't any players to compete against.
If you like Wipeout then you should definitely give this game a try. Use the experimental control scheme without any comfort options. While the general mechanics of the game are extremely basic, the general feel of racing is quite fun and comfortable.
If there were always 100 active players then I would definitely recommend for everyone to try.
Wipeout on bikes with a brilliant control scheme.
Wholeheartedly recommended to anyone remotely interested in fast paced, action packed arcade racing.
I wish the game would utilize controller rumble for even more immersion but it’s already really good as it is.
I couldn't get used to the leaning/head steering mechanic but with the recent handlebar control option the game is so much fun to play.
It shows it's an early access title since it's still rough around the edges but I have good hopes for this game.
This game is awesome. I'm not a big reviewer so i'll keep this short and sweet:
- I was surprised and quite enjoyed that you can customize your own bike and I found the interface for this really intuitive.
- The racing and control is really solid. It's easy to pick up and go on your first play, but there's definitely some practice and challenge learning brake discipline and whatnot which makes the game really enjoyable for me even though I'm not very good, and makes me want to jump back in and get better. And this is just on the easy maps! I dabbled in some of the hard ones with badass jumps and whatnot and there's definitely a lot more to get into. So far just from my initial play-through this is going to become a top racing game for me.
- I had zero VR sickness and felt comfortable throughout.
- While I was playing one of the devs of the game jumped into my multiplayer game and gave me some tips, invited me to the discord and proceeded to stomp me in race after race (even though he was purposely slowing down so he wouldn't beat me too bad). Interactive devs who are passionate about their games are refreshing with all the cash grab 15 minute experiences flooding the VR market.
Not sure how I haven't heard about this game before but really glad i stumbled across it. If you're on the fence to buy this, please do! Definitely a hidden gem well worth the price, I'm glad I came across it. Say hi in discord and let's race!
Edit: see my below comment. The devs are awesome and really care about making an open experience for everyone to enjoy!
I only have 1 hand and *really* wanted to enjoy this game. The gameplay and visuals look really cool and ran smoothly. I did not feel any vr nausea. Unfortunately, the control scheme presupposes that everyone playing will have fully functional 2 hands. In 40 frustrating minutes I was unable to customize keybindings, play with an xbox controller etc enough to complete 1 lap. The game looks fun, but this poor design decision renders it inaccessible to people with certain mobility handicaps. The only control scheme that even comes close to being accessible requires one to both control speed and angle of attack using head tracking, which is very difficult to do (I'm sure the devs know this as its not the default) but even then (for some inexplicable reason) the rest of the buttons are *still* spread across 2 controllers (meaning you can choose whether braking or firing is inaccessible by virtue of which touch controller you're holding).
I tried. I really tried. The game looks cool but I'm going to uninstall and request a refund. If 1 handed modes are added I'll buy it again in a heartbeat. I've been seeking a fun VR motorcycle racing experience. This one just made me feel stupid for trying.
I play a lot in VR and have ridden bikes IRL. This game is incredibly fun and already an excellent value even though it's still Early Access. I play it sitting with my hands on a stool in front of me holding the Touch controllers. I find it physically comfortable to play for extended periods. The leaning motion you make to steer gives an immersive sense of riding a bike. I'm looking forward to trying the new multiplayer racing mode. This would be an excellent game to port to the Oculus Quest. I recommend they add a simple Top % value to the bottom of the leaderboard display. I'm always more inspired to climb a leaderboard when I know how I rank in total against other players. I feel like this game could be another breakout success for VR. It's easy to pick up, yet has lots of gameplay depth to master.
TLDR: Buy this game, it is fantastic!
I had this game on my wish list the day it was released, but never got around to pushing the button.
The main reason for this is all the comparisons with Wipeout (my number one VR game). I thought, well - I already have Wipeout, and I am pretty sue this little indie title will fall way short.
Then the devs posted some really tasty screenshots of a Tronesque skin they were working on - and I knew I was in.
When I booted the game up, I was really knocked back by the quality and presentation. It really looks like the product of an established studio. Everything is in place - from clarity of presentation, a wealth of options, along with all those little details that tell you that this is going to be good, even before you fire up the actual game.
Then I got into the game itself. Frankly, it blew me away. And although I am in a period of very little spare time, this is the game I boot up when I get a chance.
The parallels to Wipeout are superficially there, but this is very much its own game. After only playing for an hour or so, I am starting to think the impossible 'Am I enjoying this more than Wipeout?!' One of the things that stopped me buying the game before turns out to be the feature that distinguishes this from all other racing games - the method of control. Initially, the only option was to physically lean to turn, and I thought at my age (98) I would have difficulties. I pushed the button when I saw an (updated) option to play conventionally with an Xbox controller. The Xbox controller is still under the table - controlling the bike this way feels so natural, exhilarating and novel. It takes a little getting used to, but I have managed to rise from 'total crap' to coming first against bots on easy setting. So there is certainly a challenge there - but it is the sort of challenge that is 100% fun all the way.
The game continuously surprises me - I was looking for a 'Wipeout fix' and then discovered there was a more 'pure' set of levels where you are racing around more conventional tracks with the option to turn off weapons, and this is now my favourite mode.
There is a decent amount of tracks, with more on the way, a good selection of modes (in that you can sink endless hours into them), online, offline against different levels of bots straight races, combat races, time trials against ghosts. Petty much anything you could want. This is one game that will never find itself in my 'you know I ought to get back into this again sometime' category. At the moment it is the only game I am playing (pretty much), and I do not see this changing any time soon.
Really I cannot speak more highly about this game.
Frankly, it is beyond me how certain games get on the radar and get continuously hyped, yet other games that are superior in every way never get a mention. It is crucial that we shout out about these hidden gems, if we don't then all these truly great indie games will fall to the wayside, and we will be left with just the few games that everyone knows about. Rant over.
So if you have *any* interest at all in racing games, and even if you do not - give this one a shot. Play it for an hour or two. To truly apricate it - and thank the highly competent developers behind it later.
I will come to my senses at some point and realise that a game such as Wipeout has to keep the crown - but this is currently my favourite racing game. Goddamit, I like it better than Project Cars 2!
I just loaded it for the first time, went into setting and turned comfort mode off and gave it a go. Looked like it was still in comfort mode so went back to setting and had a look again. That is when I noticed the lean angle slider and moved it over to "Are you insane?".
I just did 15 laps of Kovas Prime (I think it was called), got lapped on expert at 8 laps and by then I kind of had a grip on the controls and started to be able to pace. If you get motion sickness this mode will kill you dead. If you can deal with it.... wow!
I love riding motorcycles and no video game has ever come even close but with all the puke controls off it is a lot of fun. I felt like I was almost dragging my helmet I was leaning so far over and looking up into the corner. My head is still unsettled but I got a massive smile on my face. Nice one.
Hey BTW, if you had a control mode that used the hand controls like you where holding real bars (Counter steering like real bikes) I would have shot my bolt. Just saying :D
I might have a lot of fun in this game, thanks.
If you are a fan of Moto GP and Wipeout or just Motorcycle Racing, this game is for you. It is strangely sim-like for an arcade game. If you activate the option of the horizon rolling with the bike and put the slider to the max. I believe that it reproduce the axact behavior of racing motorcycle for real. I race motorcycle as an amateur for the past 8 years and this game may not be was I was looking for in term of visual or physic (no transmission, no suspension, no tires), but nothing comes closer to actually race motorcycle. The game is well balanced and the combat part is not annoying, nor frustrating it is just a nice diversion while you race (the tracks are actually very technical and it will take some 40 laps to master). The developpers are really listening to their customers and have implemented everything that I wished for in less than a week. They are relly improving this game fast. Note : I play the game on my real motorcyle ZX6R on a custom stand and it is great. The way you position yourself to play it should match the real thing for maximum immersion. I was really frustrated by the lack of VR support for TT Isle of Man but this game is probably better in the end cause they have physical lean to control the bike and twist the wrist for gas. If you can, gradually turn the lean slider (in comfort options) for the best racing experience in VR. I have Assto Corsa VR, Project Cars 2 VR, Raceroom VR, iRacing VR and rFactor2 VR and this game is my favorite (probably because I prefer motorcycles). And dev are experimenting with more extreme tracks with hills, jumps, loops, banking, so in the future this game will even be better.
With the comfort mode off and the "vomit slider to the max". This is a picture of me playing V-Racer Hoverbike (for real without the suit of course).

OK, do you remember those motorcycle arcade machines? The ones that you had to get on the bike and lean to steer? The ones that always cost like a whole dollar to play? Alright, take the control movements of that, the full immersion of VR, add the soundtrack from wipeout then blend it all together in a futuristic setting and BAMM! You have V-Racer Hoverbike! Shut up and take my money!
This game is an early access game, so I understand that there is more that the dev team can and will add. I know that this is just the Beta, Delta, whatever. I would like to give my two cents ($19.99) worth of feedback so that the potential player can get an idea of what you get and the dev team member can have some insight to what players (me) might want.
The good:
This game can only get better with more polish, the graphics and animations are already well done. What I would love to see, customizable riders and bikes. Upgrade parts to get tighter handling or faster acceleration so on. A better way to identify the different weapons you drive over, there are a few colors that tend to look very similar. The multiplayer would be the icing on the cake, team matches, last rider standing, tournaments! Oh, a full GP single player mode! With rivals that learn to hate you and seek you out, earn money from each race to upgrade parts and get better and better...maybe...too far?
The bad:
The steering is quite hard on the back and neck. I completely understand that it is all part of the experience, and I love it, but at times I found myself leaning farther than needed. It was like someone twisting the controller to turn faster in old timey games. A notice or signal when you get to the max turning?(that might have been the white light on the side of my...helmet...HUD was for? The soundtrack got a little samey, custom imported music?? Racing to some Bach or Babymetal?!?
The Ugly:
Menus and overall user interface, I am not too fond of looking to the option and holding position to click. This is of course personal preference. Hand or even thumb pad to select options? Winning the races and gaining points? For just bragging rights or is there something more to it I didn't see?
Overall this early access is most definitely worth the $19.99! If you like arcade racing, motorcycles, and don’t mind looking like a goof while doing it, I say this is a no brainer!! I look forward to the final release.
Me, being an unfortunate WipEout fan without a PSVR, has looked into multiple alternatives on the PC.
On thing I can tell you, if you are looking for a WipEout on the PC, you will not find it in Formular Fusion, not in Redout, and not in basically any other game out there.
This also includes V-Racer.
I am very sorry, but this game cannot deliver in terms of gameplay depth, quality of handling, and controls in general.
There is nothing more than just tilting for turn and adjusting speed.
Also the game is not designed for you to just speed through the whole map. And that is what finally kills the WipEout feeling.
For me, the game could not deliver on my high expectations. However, if you are not looking for WipEout, but a bike racing game, it's a completly different story.
