Why So Enhanced?
Interplanetary: Enhanced Edition, is a revised version of the original Interplanetary.
The no longer supported original is included in the Enhanced Edition for free, for the purposes of historical preservation and (hopefully) flattering comparison.
The Enhanced Edition features include: Online AI Bots, Elliptic Orbits, Quick Targeting Mode, New Buildings, rebalancing and general fixes and improvements across the board.

A really good game either against the AI or in PVP against friends. Matches can drag on quite a bit, but a knife fight to the death is also something to behold. Even my friends who don't really like PVP strategy games still enjoyed this one. Its also good fun in SP.
The Enhanced Edition is not balanced against AI. At the Easy level, AI destroyed 2 of my cities in 20 turns, while I was only trying to build up my cities, and haven't even got one shot off. Tried against only 1 AI opponent, as well as a full field of AI opponents. All set to Easy.
Also, with the graphics set to Max or Minimum, Vsync on or off, etc. (tested everything) you get this really bad graphics artefact that look like TV static across the middle of the solar system. This is on a top line gaming rig that I put together last year.

a reason why terraforming planets is a bad idea
Yes, the game is cheap (on sale) and the gimmick looks promising, but there's a reason 75% of players didn't finish even a single match.
Well, multiple reasons, with two of the main ones being lasers (they completely bypass the main challenge of the game and thus obsolete every other option) and the AI (it basically has aimbot in a game that's all about taking potshots), but you get the idea.
Best $3 I have ever spent. Get a group of boyz and have a few sessions.
