Very good game I highly recommend it
TLDR;
- If you liked the first game, then there's more to like with this one because it's pretty much just a way longer version.
- From my experience, the game is very challenging and I personally only beat the game after putting majority of points in Charisma and shouting everyone, including the final boss, to death. A true Dragonborn.
Pros:
- polished combat (by this series' standards)
- build variety
- significantly longer playtime in comparison to classic
- straightforward
- better visuals specifically the arena and characters
- smoother animations (I personally prefer the snappy animations from classic)
Cons:
- buggy UI navigation
- can be very difficult to progress especially with magic builds as some enemies can be immune
- there's a lot of build variety, but most of them are not viable later on
- town navigation is no longer "immersive" (you can't click on the buildings)
Every single little aspect of this game is nothing in comparison to the original (free btw) S&S 2. The previous UI is miles better, the gameplay is better, it's way more straightforward in the original version and it's just more fun. There is no point at all in wasting your hard earned 8 euros on this stupid stupid dumb game. I hate this game.
One of my first flash games as a child. Must've spent hundreds of hours on this over the decade plus of playing it. That's why I can safely say I don't recommend it at all. The ONLY reason I still play this game occasionally is purely for the nostalgia. It's extremely buggy, repetitive, unfair, and underdeveloped. Will always be one of my favorite games but definitely one of the worst games I've played.
Overall 10/10
(if it goes on sale and you can get it for dirt cheap, give it a go. It's definitely funny enough to justify like a couple bucks. Also, this used to be a flash game so you can get a flash emulator and play it if you can find it. Probably won't let you save the game tho)
The game is decent at best, just really buggy
Story is meh, after defeating a boss the text goes away too quickly to read the story properly
Every couple of in game days the textures bug and eventually the game crashes and forces to restart
There is magic resistance, so doing a magic run is frustrating
The achievements are horrible, the worst achievements I've ever seen in a game. I finished the game in about 4-5 hours, but I'm forced to play for 30+ hours more (I'm assuming that it'll take over 10-20 hours more) to get all the stupid achievements
I finished the game with about 250-300 battles and then there are achievements that require 1000 wins and 500 losses, so I'm just battling easy enemies for hours straight
And the worst achievement of them all, get an anvil dropped, a 1/10000 chance with taunting (assuming it's the same odds as the other game which it does seem like)
If this game wasn't part of the bundle then it would've been a 2/10

If you like or have fond memories of Swords and Sandals 2, then you will like this. It takes everything from the classic game and upgrades it. Includes a bunch of new bosses and better formatted story/lore too.
Good game, but that Sadiator achievement is glitched or basically impossible due to the RNG. If it isn't a glitch and "At least 2" means 2+ rather than 3+, which seemingly seems to never happen because of how the game and the aspects about how levels of the gladiators were designed. Great series of turn based games.
