Inducted into “The Office”--a top-secret department of the government’s Orwell security program--you’ll take on the role of an investigative agent during a time when civil unrest threatens to become a major political crisis between the Nation and neighboring country Parges.
Reporting directly to Orwell adviser, Ampleford, you‘re tasked with uncovering the truth behind the escalating political tension, and delving deep into the lives of Raban Vhart, editor of The People’s Voice and self-proclaimed guardian of truth, his wife, Karen, and his brother, Illya, to uncover their potential involvement.
To assist you in your task, you will be given new tools and mechanics that provide opportunities to control and impact the narrative. A new “time of day” system puts you in time-sensitive situations, making who you chose to investigate and when, more important than ever. You can also research more widely and dig deeper into citizen’s lives, gathering additional information to influence the way events are reported and perceived by the public.
FEATURES:
Investigate the agitators - Enter the world of Orwell and join a top-secret department of agents known as “The Office” during a time of civil unrest and political tension. Profile persons of interest by exploring web pages, social media and private communications. Make connections. Find the information you need to know.
Uncover the truth - Separate the stories from the facts, the propagated myths and fake news from what’s really happening. Identify the hidden agendas of all those involved and expose them.
Manipulate the information - Use Orwell’s upgraded toolset and the information you have uncovered to create your own version of the truth. Then use that to gain influence and control over the situation.
End the threat - Expose the truth. Destroy the lives and influence of those who seek to bring harm to the government and diplomatic relations with neighboring countries. Put an end to the civil unrest threatening to destroy the Nation.
Releasing over three episodes - The game will release on PC, Mac and Linux across three bi-weekly episodes, with episode one available February 22. Be part of the investigation as it unfolds.

omg if you thought the first one was amazing like i did, then you're in for a real treat with this one. the devs managed to make the game more engaging and write an even better story-line. i need another one please!!!!
jor jor well is my favourite author of all time
Great
The main game might be better. This one is either rushed or plainly poorly written: your manager (spy executive) orders a suspect to be executed by special forces under surveilance cameras. The nation you serve is literally called The Nation. Your main antagonist is a blogger in a wheelchair with a grudge against the government and writes 3 paragraph articles in capslock. However, the stakes are somehow high in bringing him down.
Seem like this story wasn't important to the developer either.
I often will get bored with games based on a story, but I absolutely loved this game! I was very immersed in the experience from start to finish. It really made me think about my decisions, and I think it helps me use my critical thinking a bit more when it comes to my personal life. The story and game mechanics were fun!
Fantastic game and gripping story line. Lots of replayable value.
Would love there to be a third in the Orwell series - it's fantastic!
The addition in this second installment of the voices in the calls helped it to become more immersive and the addition of the 'Influencer' tool added a great new dimension!
I love the orwell franchise, they need to make more and it has to be longer!
Decent game but definitely a departure from the first. I was happy to get the ending I did, but I didn't feel compelled to get the others. Worth picking up on a major sale if you're looking for a distraction or a way to pass the time! Developers, love what you're doing with the Orwell games, just give us a more unique storyline in the next one :)
Ignorance is strength is a smaller yet more intense sequel to the first Orwell, the issue this time is that the thematic purpose for Orwell is already thoroughly and thoughtfully explored in the first game, so on that front the sequel did not and cannot add much to it.
With that being said the sequel feels much more personal and emotional that the state is willing to spend so much resource against one man who isn't in the right state of mind, there is something deeply twisted in an engaging way, and tells an even more horrifying tale an encompassing surveillance can do compared to the first.
The soundtrack for this is a step up, while still focused on ambience, certain tracks does match intensified and condensed story line of the game.
Not as good as the first one, but just happy to have more.
The first game was fantastic. This one...not so much. The voice acting was a nice added feature, and it also added an "Influence" feature where you can spread narratives. It had more negatives than positives though.
First off, when you upload a piece of information, if you get a phone call or text conversation notification and you accept it, you're locked into having to watch the slow progression of voice lines or text lines - this can be horrendously boring during calls, or inconvenient during text conversations, because you can't drag and drop any new evidence until the conversation has ended (the context dropping area is grayed-out). You can get around this by declining to review the conversations, then immediately going to start them, but this is a nuisance - just, why?
Next, it's short - extremely short. It feels even shorter when you consider the added "time" function. They add in-game pressure to come up with evidence and narratives, leading to a sense of urgency and rushing to complete various "narratives," and this would be a good thing if the game wasn't supposed to be 3 in-game days long. Give it a week or two.
Also, there was a feature where it could link your previous game play from the first game, which I did, but the only thing that it seems to have done was ensure that the same news headlines showed up and that the events (like some of the suspects getting caught and arrested) were mentioned in brief. This didn't really help much with immersion, it just sort of made me wonder why we didn't get any overlap with the old game - why not make it so that the connection with Nina was investigated further? Why not have a section where you could communicate with the other investigator? Especially since there was a hacker who supposedly got into the entire Orwell system in the last game ? It would have been cool to see that implemented around what would have been the same time for the other game, especially if there was no knowledge by the person overseeing you like there was with Delacroix in the first game .
On a personal note, rather than an overall game performance comment: The ending that I got was stupid. You mean to tell me that a fugitive of the state, a hardcore rebel, someone whose mission it was to vehemently oppose The Nation, was torn down in 3 days time? Really? If it's to be believable, it needs to be a lot longer than that.
Overall, the plot was far too simple/surface-level in comparison to the first. It didn't feel like you could dig as deep, and there wasn't much attachment to the characters. There also wasn't any room for suspicion or mystery - in the first, there's second-guessing and changing main suspects. In this one, there's just "here's the dude we hate - make the media feel the same! >:("
I found this game as I played the first game (get that!) and loved it, so I wanted to see what was next. The short review is it is good, definitely a great successor to the original even though I prefer the first one. This game's story is great and intertwines in places with the original's, so again get that!
The game is simple in its mechanics, like the first, but has more to it than the original. It still works a little like a computer screen, and is text-based with pictures and images, a computer style, and really cool music, but there are some voices in this game too. It doesn't need any, but they add a little something too. The ambience still makes you feel everything as you read and listen, and again makes a great stream game, especially if you played the first one for viewers.
A story game, like the first, where choices make differences to how the story plays out, and there are lots of twists/big moments that keep you invested. Again, it intertwines with the original. You can absolutely play it without knowing anything about the original, but you will get more out of it if you do play it first.
I won't spoil the game or story for you, but if you enjoy story games, or dystopian societies, or stories with meanings and choices in them, then this is for you!
I enjoyed it, though not as much as the original, but that is true for most series imo. I very much recommend this game. It is worth full price (as I bought it) even if the original is my preference. I will definitely keep supporting the devs. Very impressed with this like I was the first.
It was alright but nothing compared to the first game. Voice acting was a nice touch at first, but there was so little of it. Original had many more phone conversations which was some of the best parts.
What really ticked me off with this one and prevented me from trying to get more achievements and endings was the password to David's file. When I finally checked a guide to see what it was after replaying the last episode again, I didn't really feel there was any hint towards it. I could of course be a complete moron and missed any hints, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
Obviously irl cracking a password by guessing is rarely easy and would require a lot of trial and error. But this is a game that is already far from realistic. I'm playing to chill and enjoy a good plot with some detective/puzzle work. I definitely wasn't going to sit there and drop random words that I had access to until one worked. Overall it was a decent game that tried to build on the original but fell a little short imo. But, if you enjoyed the first, definitely give this a whirl.
