This game is horrible! You have nothing to do: you just start a mission (in story mode, they don’t tell you how), kill a few titans, and then fight an overpowered abnormal titan that has way too much health and a shield for some reason. You can only hit him once every 2 to 3 workdays. terrible game.

Attack on Titan was something of a phenomenon of an anime series, coming right around the same time as the popularity of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, and using similar themes as well as a propensity for killing major characters whenever it felt like. I definitely credit this series as a major part of Western anime popularity.

The series features a slight flip on a typical "zombie" narrative. In most, zombies are stupid and weak but overwhelming by numbers, in AoT, the "Titans" are somewhat different. Their numbers aren't huge, with say 20 total being able to wreck an entire city and they aren't weak--by being the size of a building, they are rather easily able to level a block, crush your small body in its fist, etc. The series does evolve even further past its roots as a zombie narrative, but thats for you to watch.

pros:
-very solid gameplay. the series trademark ODM gear makes traversal not too different from a spider man game, and with cables that attach to real places, and strong physics, its deeply fun to just move around, not to mention fight.
-okay adaptation of the story, although various elements don't make too much sense, as the game gives a little TOO much respect to its original story--in the series, 10 of the main character recruits attain the top spots in training and get to choose their regiment. it is impossible for you yourself to attain a spot yourself, despite the rather easy possibility to beat them all in training.
-learn more about the characters. A good portion of the game is like Fire Emblem or another social RPG where you give gifts and learn more about your favorite characters, unlocking extra abilities in combat by having them in your squad.
-Final Battle adds a lot of Season 3 content and a lot of replay-ability.

cons:
-annoyingly ignores any opportunity to change the story for you--as i mentioned earlier, it sticks too close the original story and never lets you feel like your character matters, despite being easy enough to be leagues better than the best characters in the series.
-TOO EASY. Titans are supposed to be dangerous and very hard to take down. even the best fighters in the series have like 20-30 kills; i did that in the first three levels, even on hard. the difficulty comes from choosing to not go for the kill, rather going for a limb that might reward you or capturing titans instead of killing them. Teammates are basically guaranteed hits/kills or abilities that heal or stun or whatever. this is honestly the single most damaging part of the game considering the lore.
-literally never on sale.

This game is seriously one of the best game i've ever played i recommend getting it 10000000%. It is so much fun playing
through the story and watching your character get stronger and stronger as you go, and you get EVEN stronger when you play territory recovery mode which is included in the Final Battle DLC, Everything in the game for me is just right i've enjoyed every bit of AOT 2. Sure it might be a lot of grinding at times especially when you want to see what happens when you level every characters relationship to the max but overall still lots of fun to be had. I haven't played with a friend yet but that seems to also be lots of fun too.

**SPOILER ALERT!!!**
The only thing i really don't like is that when you get the Final Battle DLC your character just kinda isn't there anymore, and then you could play the characters themselves like Eren, Armin, Mikasa and them in character episode mode but at that point why not just watch the anime it's self you know? I've grown to like my character very much because of all the time i spent making my character stronger and faster, all of that. So it was really disappointing to me when i found out that he/she just won't be there for the 3rd season.


Well that was about it, i will keep on playing again and hopefully one day i get 1000 hours on it, it's just always so fun to me when i get to zoom around all over the place and destroy all titans, i will try to get every achievement of the game just because it's so enjoyable to me. And also KOEI TECMO! PLEAAASE tell me yall are working on another DLC where the main character is there for the 4th season and it's just not me playing as Eren or whoever for the 4th season just like in final battle DLC. This game is a huge part of me now so i'd really like to see a 4th season implemented in it and not another game unless it has my character in it. Either way Koei Tecmo have made an absolutely incredible game with very good game mechanics and if you're a fan of the attack on titan franchise this game is definitely gonna be your thing.

Extremely fun game to play if you're a fan of AoT. The roster of characters on top the custom character you make yourself is extremely solid too, even adding some more obscure characters for hardcore fans of the show such as myself. The story mode is extremely fun to play through and I loved unlocking all the characters for another mode (that's literally what it's called). It's fun seeing your own character fit in effortlessly into the AoT storyline as if they were there all along. Even after 48 hours of playtime I still have so much to do and so many characters to level up, it's always a blast coming back to this game to just relax and slay some titans.

If you're a fan of the show or just curious about it I'd definitely recommend you try this game out yourself.
