Shishimai Rinka was a high schooler who ran a small café named Lion House in place of her grandmother. She lived her life much like any other person her age, but one day, she was caught up in an explosion while returning home on the train alongside her friend, Hitsuji Naomi. In an attempt to save her friend's life, she shields her on instinct the moment the explosion goes off, losing her life in the process. However, before she knew it, she was back at Lion House, happily chatting with her friends as if nothing had happened in the first place.
"Good evening, my lovely little slaves to fate."
A few days later, she found herself in a strange world. Here she met Parca, an odd girl claiming to be a goddess. It turns out that she had somehow become a participant in Divine Selection, a ritual carried out over twelve weeks by twelve people, which allowed them to compete in order to undo their deaths. Yet, what shocked Rinka most of all, was the presence of her friend Mishima Miharu amongst the twelve.
In order to get through Divine Selection, one must eliminate others by gathering information regarding their name, cause of death and regret in the real world, then "electing" them.
This turn of events would lead to her learning about the truth behind her death, as well as her own personal regrets. She would also come to face the reality that Miharu was willing to throw her life away for her sake, as well as the extents to which the other participants would go to for the sake of living through to the end.
Far more experiences than she ever could have imagined awaited her now, but where will her resolve lead her once all is said and done...?

Yuri is great, also enjoyed the story so far :)
I was really excited to play this vn and it definitely didn't disappoint! There are so many things I love about this game, though because of that I'm even more frustrated by its negative aspects since I keep imagining how epic it would've been without them lol.
Overall I'm really impressed by the production, the art is beautiful (though I was kind of hoping for more CG variety) and the soundtrack is insanely good! The game's whole design is just very aesthetically pleasing to me. The plot is interesting and I was highly invested in the story, the whole "selection system" is quite intriguing and I loved whenever there were action moments.
I love the fun characters and enjoyed finding out more about them throughout the story, but I often hated what was done to them eventually, like WHY DID HALF OF THE CAST WILLINGLY SACRIFICE THEMSELVES?. I found it weird that some of them had a complete mind-switch within a few weeks, which made the later "rounds" of the selection way less intense than I was hoping for. Otherwise something I perceive to be rather neutral are the pespective changes: on one hand I enjoyed them for the variety and learning more about the cast but on the other hand it felt like the game started doing them too early on, which made some moments less impactful and more predictable. Besides I believe that the perspective changes didn't use their potential, since many valuable and interesting actions that could've been shown just ended up being briefly mentioned (I'm particularly talking about the badass characters who are somehow capable of nearly anything but the game just demonstrates NONE of their abilities, "connections", etc).
Now the game manages to create a nice and epic atmosphere during certain scenes but I feel like the overall atmosphere often tends to lack a sense of urgency and despair, since there are constant sudden switches between suspenseful moments and casual scenes which feels unnatural at times. Also probably the only thing I actually despised about the game is the romance... I wish it was possible to just put Rinka in a harem with Mao and Naomi, instead of forcing her in a relationship with that insufferable, childish brat Miharu....
Either way I like the different endings, they kind of have pacing issues (some are way too short, whereas others way too long) but as a whole it was nice to see different outcomes. I genuinely didn't expect the plot to end up being that complex in the true ending, some of it feels a bit "too much" but at the same time I found it fun to learn about it.
Altogether I really love the game's whole concept and was immersed in the story but the execution ended up somewhat underwhelming occasionally, despite how amazing the potential is. Still a very clever and entertaining visual novel, in my opinion!
Fatal Twelve is a life or death drama visual novel that focuses on a death game and has a light yuri substory to go with it - specifics about the yuri-ness - between all endings there is a confession and two dates they go on, so it is far from what I'd consider a yuri story . I really enjoyed this visual novel and feel like it has some really strong highlights but also some faults that prevent it from being rated truly highly.
This will be very general as going into almost any details would be full of spoilers for a visual novel focused on a death game like this. The story does an effective job of introducing all the characters to you in rather swift fashion when they get their time. It manages to build up enough of who they are that I felt myself caring about them - some more than others - as the story went on. This is helped by some shifting character perspectives that show different angles to the story as it persists. A significant portion of the characters also show some significant character development through the story which is appreciated. I think the middle section of the story was also incredibly interesting and found myself binging through it in just one sitting without any trouble at all.
The negatives to this visual novel are a bit frustrating. While the middle of the story was quite good, - spoiler for type / number of endings only - and I'd argue all the bad endings were interesting in their own ways, the good endings both drag a bit, with the true ending being the worst offender of that. There were also a few technical issues but none were too major: the achievements are a bit buggy and I had to re-choose some options a few times to trigger the "choose all options" achievement, and one other achievement only popped upon replaying a route. There was also a weird issue with it on full screen that it would randomly flash a few times like it was resizing to my screen again, but this didn't cause issues, it was just distracting for the second it'd do it and it would occur every few hours without being able to find a cause or solution for it.
Music is relatively good, the BGM lends some extra feeling to some scenes, but at the same time I feel like it plays a bit too early in some scene transitions, i.e. playing the "bad stuff happening" music before it's actually shown anything bad happening yet, which just telegraphs what is about to happen. Systems are standard as this uses Ren'py.
Overall I'd recommend Fatal Twelve to anyone looking to read a life or death drama visual novel. It's pretty good and for the most part my complaints are pretty minor. While there is a secondary yuri story to it, this is largely not a yuri visual novel, so don't let that deter you.
a nice game overall! though extremely offensive in some parts, but if you like death games and GL you might enjoy this. art was lovely and the characters it cared about were definitely given some thought (though, once again, some of the thought was Weird And Racist to say the least) - i did find myself caring more about some of the side character relationships than the main ones, though, but again: game is very much worth a try if you love death games GL and trauma.
Gorgeous art, great characters with a good story backing them up that only very occasionally gets dips with anime-logic/ long explanations of the system behind events works. Enjoyed reading it through and the endings I got were satisfying for the most part.
More of a straight visual novel with some choices of varying consequence scattered throughout.
Would be nice if they fixed the eye colour inconsistency in the route for ending 2/3
Game was way better than I expected.
Definitely not for the feint of heart, the amount of emotions the game put me through was unlike any other game I've played before.
I wish the main girls a happy yuriful life !
Death game plot: mid
Yuri: great
This yuri visual novel has a great premise that is very well executed. 12 people who died at the same time are forced into a battle of wits by the goddess of fate, and whoever wins gets to live - but only one can be left standing.
This leads to a story with a lot of tension and a very interesting and large cast of characters.
The game has some of the best character designs I've ever seen in a VN and also has wonderful music. Although it does feature surprisingly few CGs for such an epic game.
The game's yuri romance elements aren't the focus and certainly aren't the most compelling thing about it, but it's a good story that happens to have some lesbian romance too, and that’s always nice.
Do not ever believe liars, no matter how close for you they are, if they lied all the time they will continue to lie, dont believe it and act as needed. First time for me the game of battle of wits genre force you to outwit your own teammate out of kms, 12/11.
Great game - in my opinion, one of the better VNs. Good story idea, good execution (though changing POVs for other characters kinda kills the suspense a bit). Likeable characters, good 3D (i.e. characters are not flat, have good motivations, wants, needs). Best pairing :3
dont underestimate the lesbian bartenders or else you will be eliminated from any game, battle royales included
fantastic and thrilling story of destined people of death yet finding ways to get around it
bonus GIRLS KISSING included as a treat
its nice
A fantasy visual novel of a school girl who is caught in the midst of a divine competition, well worth of a read.
STORY:
By and large the main selling point of the novel. It is unique, intriguing, well written, very well translated, and highly enjoyable to read.
The main character, Rinka, dies off in an explosion and has the chance - through divine intervention - to stay alive by competing against 11 other people who also died in different circumstances, which all are secondary characters
The way the competition is set up is highly interesting and leads to a variety of decisions from all participants, including some scrupulous yet understandable actions along the way from some of them.
There are multiple change of hearts and self-reflections along the way, though, often benefitting the main protagonist, which though well explained by the story may neverthless be seen as a plot device designed to keep her alive, even in the midst of her naivite and good-hearted nature.
There are a number of choices along the way that lead fairly quickly to a number of different bad and main endings, most of which are predictable in nature but all nevertheless enjoyable to read.
Key story points can be seen in the Cardbook and Summary modes from the game menu, and seen endings can be seen in the Extras menu, which are all nice to have.
ARTWORK:
Character sprites are superbly drawn, including all secondary characters, though no animated expressions.
There is a big library of CGs included, equally well drawn and pleasing to look at.
Great variety of well designed backgrounds too.
SOUND:
Well paced and matches well with the story points. While it does not stand out as much as its story or its artwork, it is still very enjoyable to listen to.
Unfortunately there is no BGM mode available to listen to the songs individually.
Voice acting is of good quality and manages to capture well the emotional ups and downs of the story.
SUMMARY:
A standout and unique fantasy visual novel with good pricing to match. 9/10
A death game with actual meaningful themes, constructed in a way that winning the game requires thoroughly investigating and understanding the participants. Part of that construction is that most of the people involved aren't particularly keen on killing others or possibly even continuing to be alive, kind of ironically making the 'death' part of the death game kind of a big deal beyond mere survival.
Interesting read and a massive improvement on the studio's previous project.
