I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.

Secret in Story
10/10
I kinda know Luo Zhi En from the android games app. The style is a unique and experimental expression. Kinda surprised to see his game on steam.
From what i can experience here is experimental gameplay on system point and click. To be honest, this gameplay is not for everyone. Personally, it's a bit boring and kinda confusing. All I do is click randomly and the pacing is a bit fast. The life system may make it a little bit frustrating but it's not a problem for a short game. But hey, that's just me. Maybe the game genre is not for me. For 1$ price, it's still worth it for you to give it try. Also, I hope the developer make a hand-made cursor rather than a default mouse cursor
The smallest things from a song to an overheard conversation & even a simple thing as a coin drop echoing can set in motion heartfelt memories. Those instant flashes that harbour lingering events in which our romanticized minds conjure up pensive scenes of the past.
It is in this prologue that Secret in Story begins giving us a glimpse of the female protagonist's recollections accompanied by tender piano music and striking monochrome frames.
The menu is simplicity in itself showcasing the female protagonist (who eerily reminds me of an adult Rae from Beyond Eyes!) alongside a PLAY BUTTON in a circle for starting the game, an option for Tutorial on/off, Achievements tab and an Exit button.
The game then takes you on the female protagonist's brief recollection as an introduction to the game (which does have a SKIP button!) then you are shown brief instructions of what to do before the game screens begin.
The game is made up of 3 types of timed QTE (Quick-Time Events) ranging from clicking or arranging items in sequence, directing the protagonist to avoid dangers among other things and, in the case of birds/snowflakes/flashing lights/paper-birds/balloons, clicking these a certain number of times before the timer runs out.
There are moments too where the protagonist will be drawing a scene from the flashback, this has to be memorised as it will feature later in the storyboard and there are also portraits of the protagonist to be collected for use as LIVES in the game alongside other items that activate hidden levels.
As with every game I get, I am always attracted to the artwork first and I feel it adds a certain panache to this touching love journey. As you master each QTE flashback it opens up more of the story until the finale; I admired the beautifully illustrated scenes especially when in a monochrome setting.
The music is all piano based creating a very soothing atmosphere while in some scenes it adds a dramatic crescendo to reflect the event being portrayed.
For a game that can very quickly become frustrating I believe the use of a piano was a good choice there! Also having a PAUSE button is very wise too!!
The game has card drops and Achievements with some of the achievements being very challenging to earn as can be seen in my playtime. I have spent hours trying to unlock some of the tougher ones which reward shorter clicks for the story completion but this is harder than it looks!
The price is very reasonable too for the game content and I believe the replay factor to this will not only breed familiarity making the gameplay easier but also gives you the opportunity to take in more of the game's beauty & hidden levels.
Epilepsy warning : Contains frequent flashing images

nice illustration, music... love it

One of the games i really regret buying, even though i bought it on sale for 0,49€.
Boring and Stupid point and click with a okayish "story".
the story that pretends to show the game is ruined by a stupid system of Point and click, the text is shown so fast that you can barely read half of the piece when the other scene begins and you have to look for the clickable objects. so you miss the whole story. even though you have to pay atention to the picture to unerstood the story, those happens so fast that you can't apreciate anything there.
-the music is the only thing that atract me a little bit of the game.
This game will definitely test your ability to both pay attention and use common rational to know where and how to click images that come up on your screen to solve and reveal the complete story.
*Spoiler Alert* ... Watch my gameplay revealing the complete game and discussing the hidden messages with my moderators here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwlbITdiFeI
It took me livestreaming it and two of my moderators who are pretty smart helping me to get through it. I think I had it about 98% complete an hour and a half into it, but when you lose all your "chances", you have to start completely over and do it all again. All in all, it took me just over four hours to completely solve it, but the story itself is only maybe ten minutes long. I'm sure that some people will be able to beat this in much shorter time periods, especially if they have seen it played before (as in my video above)
I do believe this is a great game and value for it offers the player hidden inspirational and pretty deep messages about love, relationships, and 'letting go". The music is also beautiful, as is the black and white art found within the game.
It's not perfect however, and the biggest problem I had is a complete lack of options, both sound and graphic resolutions, as well as a missing option anywhere to exit the game, forcing you to ALT-F4 to exit the game as even the ESC will not work. Still, it scored an impressive 86% on my scoring table, and the low price tag and high value helped it achieve that score on my table.
Highly recommended. It's a beautiful little game with deep messages if you are patient enough to complete the full game.
Its a very interesting game. it's kinda like a visual novel, but with gameplay elements. graphically its very nice and the music matches that very well. if i could take things seriously i would probably like it alot more. but for the price it seems like an ok story game.
