Monsters beyond your imagination, and you: The Manager.
Monsters beyond your imagination, and you: The Manager. Monsters beyond your imagination, and you: The Manager. A roguelite monster-management simulation inspired by the likes of the SCP Foundation, Cabin in the Woods, and Warehouse 13. Order your employees to perform work with the creatures and watch as it unfolds; harness greater energy, and expand the facility. One disaster will lead to another, until everything has fallen into chaos. “I give you a warm welcome to Lobotomy Corporation.”Lobotomy Corporation is a roguelite monster-management simulation.
Our game was inspired by the monsters birthed of various inspirations featured in games, film, and series, such as the SCP Foundation, Cabin in the Woods, and Warehouse 13. Going further, it was developed with this thought: “What if those monsters were real, and your job were to manage them?”
You will be playing as the Manager of Lobotomy Corporation, a company in which such creatures are contained and managed. Order your employees to perform work with and on the creatures and watch the results expectantly. Gather energy produced by the monsters and fulfill the quota each day, expand the facility, and manage even more strange beings. In this game, the player will face an ever-present sense of tension and dread as they progress through each day.
“Our new technology will bring salvation to humanity.”
Lobotomy Corporation is a newly established energy company that isolates Abnormalities and extracts an infinite amount of energy from them by using independently developed technology, or so it seems on the outside. Join the corporation, and witness the true reality with your own eyes.
Lobotomy Corp. consists of several departments, much like any other company. You will have access to various departments as you harness more energy. The more departments you have unlocked, the more efficient the management of Abnormalities will become.
Furthermore, AIs such as Angela and the ‘Sephirot’ will be at your side to provide all the assistance you need for smooth progression.
Beings that you must constantly research and observe.
We dubbed the creatures that reside in Lobotomy Corporation, ‘Abnormalities’.
You will have to try your best to keep your employees out of danger while extracting as much energy as possible from the Abnormalities. However, you must learn what types of work you should and shouldn’t perform via trial and error.
You start with zero information on the Abnormalities. At first, your eyes, ears, and the in-game manual will be your only hints. Let your intuition pick the work type that might suit the Abnormality best. After that, order the employee who is best suited for the job to work on the Abnormality, and wait for the results. In the process of managing Abnormalities, you will gain the power of information.
The amount of energy you can acquire from Abnormalities will depend heavily on the type of work your employees perform.
This is NOT a tycoon.
As mentioned before, Abnormalities are beings that need to be treated with great care. Some might dislike the idea of being locked inside a Containment Unit, and may sometimes attempt to breach containment.
A breaching Abnormality will attack every employee in sight and disrupt the facility’s systems. Worse still, it could open up other units and cause more Abnormalities to escape. Furthermore, employees eroded or corrupted by certain Abnormalities will have a greatly adverse influence on other employees. Employees brainwashed by Abnormalities might randomly attack those around them, wholly oblivious to what they are doing. In addition, employees may go insane from serious psychic trauma, disobeying your orders and damaging the psyche of other employees around them.
One disaster leads to another, until everything has fallen into chaos.
If you fail to resolve a situation immediately, it will ultimately spiral out of control and throw the whole facility into chaos. When such a situation does occur, you will have to gather employees to suppress any threat and regain control of the situation, or give up parts of the facility to ensure the company’s safety.
“Tell me, manager. Do you have any wishes?”
The game consists of two main portions: Monster Management and visual Story Segments.
Once a day of managing Abnormalities and producing energy ends, the story segment will follow right afterward.
In the Story Segments, dialogue with Angela (the AI you’ll also be seeing occasionally in the management portion of the game) and the Sephirot will play. As you progress through the missions they give, you will come closer to the truth hidden deep in the company. You may have to ask questions, or answer questions from others. Here, you will uncover the secrets surrounding the company and yourself, and mayhaps even more.
“Hello, X.”
“I give you a warm welcome to Lobotomy Corporation.”

fuck this game please play with mods this game is actually trash if u dont
Banger, 8/10 great story but a couple huge difficulty spikes. took about 80hrs to finish 100% for me
Excellent game and story,
please be patient or you will lose your mind :)
the pain, the suffering this game makes you go through is like nothing else, this game is absolutely unique in so many ways, the unfiltered emotions this game makes you feel are only found here, and maybe in F&H.
this game feels like some underground, unbalanced mess because it is! the game became popular but the essense of it is still a failed kickstarter and a dream, and I haven't even mentioned the fact that Lob. Corp. is he cornerstone of the whole Project Moon universe, so, yeah
10/10
gameplay fun. cool music. charming artstyle. story is neat. recommend.
this game was honestly a total blast. aside from some bullshittery near the end of the game, i REALLY enjoyed this. it was literally the only thing i played for like two and a half weeks, and i did not get bored a single time.
for veteran players reading this: red mist, arbiter, apoc bird, and whitenight weren't too bad. never want to even think about day 49 again though.
for newer players: please, look up every abno before extracting it, and if ANY of them have the "escape when X employees die" or "escape when an abnormality breaches" condition, do NOT extract them. do not be afraid to look stuff up and ask for help, you will absolutely need that. don't be afraid to mem rep and retry days frequently, you should probably get used to it. oh, and for the love of god, expand binah and hokma's departments at the same time. you'll understand.'
overall, really fun game, i enjoyed every bit of it.
Beat the game, took me 182 hours. 10/10, truly an experience, especially the boss fights. Would not do it again.
its so stressful and you just kind of know that everything horrible that is happening to you is your fault. 11/10
I've enjoyed the little I've played so far, but I think it's important to note that the text is incredibly hard to see on the Steam Deck's screen. If you get it for your deck you'll need to stream it to a laptop for it to be legible enough that you won't get a head ache after 10 minutes.
This game is a very fun management sim 10/10 would reccomend, but if you get Express Train to Hell I feel bad and your day will be ruined many times.
I bought this at the same time as Library of Ruina; to be honest I was much more interested in that game, but when I heard that they were connected curiousity won out and I grabbed this as well. Good thing too, because Lobotomy Corp is way better!
They share a few quirks in common: they are both punishingly difficult with bad UI, and other weird design choices, but where they differ is that Lobotomy Corp is actually fun! Even when some magical heart monster broke out of containment and started massacring everyone, and my employees stopped listening to me in order to hang out with the friendly plague doctor, and everyone in my company was having an overall very bad time, I was still having a good one!
Yes, it is possible to be screwed over and put in basically unwinnable situations at first, but you learn as you go. I'm not even halfway through the game yet, but I'm getting a little closer every time! The story is also much more focused here, so I actually care to see what happens next. I'd recommend giving it a try, just know what you're getting into. (or don't, that could be exciting as well!)
Also, I heard this game had memory leaks, so I wrapped my entire laptop in masking tape ahead of time, and I don't see anything leaking out yet. Except for those weird butterflies, that is....
Game is brutal, but you don't come away feeling like the difficulty was *complete* bs. The game definitely expects you to get used to resetting, and it would be extremely difficult to complete the game (and basically impossible to 100% it) without resetting at all.
While the gameplay isn't up to everyone's tastes, the story and music are in my opinion fantastic. If the gameplay doesn't appeal to you, and you're more interested in other games Project Moon has made (since they all connect with each other), I'd say at least watch story compilation videos on youtube. Good to note though, you might miss out on some cool things in the game by doing this, as story comps usually don't include things like the abnormalities (which are the monster like entities in this game), abnormality logs, or certain events that take place once you complete a few missions for a character.
Oh yeah, also this game does have a memory leak issue according to other people, so many in the community recommend modding the game to patch that and add a few other QoL features, but the game can be beaten without those if you prefer (I didn't mod the game at all and got 100%/True ending).
TLDR game good but game hard
cant figure out how to mod it put great game, would reccomend. Things to note are:
-the game is somewhat grindy
-knowledge is quite literally power which goes with the first point
-its insanely hard, therefore if you dont have the time to get good then dont buy it
-remember, this is a ROGUELITE so if you dislike those games then find a different game
game looks fun a bit difficult but very fun and good storyline
It found me after I'd fallen out of interest of another game, played with me for a bit and broke me over it's fucking knees. I love this game, it just clicked and suddenly, wow, I can feel the rust sliding off my brain, it's engaging to think about how things work but not overly tiring to try and strategize over (I choose to ignore my wall and windows being slowly plastered with post-its over time). I didn't go into it completely blind, but I'd still like to ask my friends to try this game sometimes, honestly just to see what they do with it, even if it gets too hard for them. I think it would be funny.
Beat the game earlier this week.
Very challenging experience that has amazing feelings of satisfaction. The game trusts the player will figure things out and doesn't give out freebies which is a big plus for anybody who remotely enjoys a challenge.
Music is very good and the characters are all very enjoyable. A good narrative experience that serves as an amazing reward for when you beat challenges to progress further.
Lacks some quality of life which would greatly improve the game ESPECIALLY with pacing.
having played this game last in the series, angela feels so much better as a character here. gameplay is fun but its definitely the hardest of the 3, imo unplayable without free customisation mod (I LOVE MY NUGGIES)
I have not beat the game nor do i think i will ever but the story is good. the game is repetitive but besides all that, i enjoyed my time playing this game.
Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train. Do not forget the train.
Probably the ONLY simulator game that I've played that was fun.
Unique in nearly every aspect, gameplay, lore, art style, etc.
I absolutely love this game and will most likely be playing the other games from the developers. (Library of Ruina, and Limbus Company)
One of the best games I ever played. While the game has some performance issues, I couldn't stop playing. Bundled with a very good story, characters you can relate to and the fun gameplay, it makes an unforgettable experience for me.
Very hard if you're not careful or don't know what your doing. You'll sometimes be resating for 8 hours straight. However. It's really fun to manage the monsters. Fight them not so much. Also USE ALL YOUR RESOURCES. even the ones you think are useless.
Held together by ducttape and dreams, the most beautiful of all performances begins.
If you can put up with some rather lengthy grind, and how this is noticeably a devs first game (bugs, stability issues), you will get a very hard test of how well you can manage and multitask in a management game. Lots of cool abnormalities, with many unique designs and abilites and a short, but well thought out story await you.
there are only 2 different approaches to this game:
you can either force yourself through it for 200 hours or admit defeat and watch a lore summary to play library of ruina
after reading the reviews of the tormented souls who chose the former i'd rather just accept that i suck
Genuinely has been one of my favorite games recently. I've been so addicted to it (more than I'd like to admit), and I've really had a great time playing it.
It can be stressful at times; I'm definitely not at the end yet, but I'm very persistent to finish this game.
All of the abnormalities are unique, it's always fun and thrilling to see what new abnormality you will unlock.
Resetting is a must in this game, I've gotten stuck in some situations where I: didn't have the right abnormalities, accidentally morphed a.. certain.. abnormality into something way more powerful than I could handle..
Other than that, my experience so far with the game is definitely one I will always cherish and never forget.
Punishing bird is fun to watch breach and seek blood out of my agents
This game really makes you feel like god not only exists but also really hates you. A lot of things can and often will go wrong resulting in a lot of time being wasted. Eventually you realize that the room for error is much greater than you initially thought but also that if your plan is not bs-proof you are basically asking for trouble. Very reminiscent of the real life indeed. Because of how punishing and sometimes unfair this game is, it actually becomes so relatable that you feel like characters are talking to you, the player, directly instead of a main character while still making quite a bit of sense.
If you find this game at the right time and you have the mental capacity to endure it, it is a good find. My only advise is to use some optimization mods since there are some performance issues related to coding errors that were never fixed
This is a great game with a great story but i found new appreciation for it after playing it myself and experiencing the game the intended way. Sadly I dont have much money so before I played this game I watched 7 different full playthroughs of it before it went on sale and bought it. I recommend playing this game blind for the full impact of the game and story. If you dont like hard games then you can also watch 7 different playthroughs to make the game a little easier but will take away from your experience with the game. Due to watching several days worth of lobotomy corp gameplay and story I was able to breeze past most of the days (except day 49) which took away from the challenge of this game so i recommend only every watching playthroughs if you are stuck but still want to see whats next in the game but cant continue.
A really fun game with a great world and storytelling. Starts out fairly simple, but it gets hard to remember all of the abnormalities and their little quirks. Ramps WAY up towards the end. You will lose. A lot. Good luck, Manager.
Time to make this game a core part of my personality. Holy shit is that the Red Mist
The learning process is challenging, but this game is oh so fun. The Abnormalities are all super unique and have great synergy with the right setups and its hard to not get attached to your little Employees as they work hard. Fun story so far, music and art is amazing, and characters are all interesting.
10/10 would get 12 Good Work Results with Plague Doctor again.
this is a really cool and ambitious game that I think I'll just drop
the gameplay loop was charming at first and I didn't find the abnormalities too hard even at WAW/ALEPH level however after day 30+ it completely lost all its charm and just turned boring and grindy in the worst way, and to top it all off very small mistakes or rng events can just completely ruin your day forcing you to retry and I really don't care enough to keep wiping 2 hours of progress at a time without at least saving ego gear and new research
small tweaks to the roguelike aspect of the game would bump this up from a meh experience people put themselves through and get stockholm syndrome from to a genuinely great game, which is what I'm hoping to get from library of ruina after I read up on the rest of this game's story
Day 50 beaten at 76 hours, no true ending as from days 41 to 50 it felt less and less fun to play due to unbalanced bosses and repetitiveness. I will not be replaying for 100% abnormality dissolution or for any other reason for the foreseeable future.
It's an okay game, the story and worldbuilding, characters, and themes elevate it to an easy 10/10. However, the gameplay is inexcusable and lackluster. While it does tie into the story, it's absolutely inexcusable how repetitive and hacked together some gameplay systems are. I expect these will be addressed in the following decade when a remake is made.
I would recommend for the story alone, but the gameplay will easily push away 90% of players, if not 99%.
I really enjoyed this game and its characters/story/visual elements, but I regret giving ProjectMoon my money after the CEO refused to protect a long-time female employee from harassment.
helluva game it is very difficult and takes a lot of time to get used to but is unbelievbly fun fucked up lore tho...
Pretty fun game, i just got to day 10, and it has'nt been any challenge yet :D
The idea is cool, so I want to like it. However, there are too many issues with the actual gameplay (e.g. the UI, controls) that take away from the game experience to recommend it.
To summarize my review in short, Lobotomy Corporation is great.
The characters are visually appealing in terms of design, and the art style helps with that quite a bit. The story overall is interesting, and the way you're fed it feels exciting and refreshing to go through.
The game IS hard. You WILL struggle, you WILL need to restart, you WILL fail, but that's intentional. Each time you reset, you keep a bit of what you had last time to progress forward.
The gameplay loop at first can feel boring until you reach your first sort of "boss encounter", at which point the story gets quite a bit more interesting.
The initial experience of finding new abnormalities and learning what they do is quite fun overall.
I recommend getting the true ending, which I had gotten, as it feels the best and ties into the next game, Library of Ruina.
Certain mods to fix bugs and add quality of life features can help quite a bit if you're not up to playing normally or don't want to deal with too much jank.
Don't go in expecting to win easily.
i enjoy the activity of pressing big, colorful buttons to watch things happen. 10/10 amazing, recommend, but also i dont. god save my poor soul
Today after all these years I have finally brought an end to my journey finishing Lobotomy Corporation really is bitter sweet for me this game is my favourite game and I do think its unlikely that another game scratches that specific itch I have I remember when I found out about this game watching one of my friends play it in a discord server the abnormalities the absolute chaos it made me want to give it a shot.
If you enjoy the idea of managing your own SCP foundation or just love creatures this game is for you it will be very hard at first and will keep getting harder at times but every time you open the game you will learn more and more how to improve your tactics and building your own strategy maybe you will suppress the punishing bird or maybe you will just learn to not go against it at all maybe you will adapt your strategy completely around the train or maybe you will decide to never keep in in your facility this game is hard really really hard but in the end if I could beat it I believe anyone could with enough love and patience it will take time but maybe one day.
Thank you so very much for this wonderful game and having gotten me into project moon so long ago Oregano and thank you Project moon for the wonderful years I have gotten with your games in mind thank you Saru for also getting me into ruina but most importantly HOLY FUCK ANGELA YOU WERE SUCH A BITCH (ps: I no longer really hate her after ruina when I played that game last year it changed so much for me but buh byeeee)
dude i love this game but holy fuck ITS SO IRRITATING ASKJBDAUIBFDSBUIIUDHBSBUIUBI
i recommend getting plague doctor and blessing everyone in ur facility when u can
hard but fun, creative abnormalities, or silly little guys.
When I first did the tutorial I could not understand a lot of the game unique specific terms. Even now I don't always understand the different terminologies. But it did still teach me how to play the game in full so I can have fun with it.
and oh what fun it is.
trying to figure out how to interact with the abnormalities, figuring out which equipment to give to the agents, if dealing with that one specific very very dangerous anomaly is worth it to get whatever special armour and weapon they offer. Is it more important to learn their managerial notes? or what option gives the most power.
I LOVE IT
though. If I could make one change? I would add a lockdown/ evacuate option. I have seen the scientist NPC's go into dangerous rooms to engage escaped abnormalities just to end up a red smear on the wall.
Extra problematic when certain anomalies that will remain [redacted] will insta terminate anything anywhere that approaches within 4 metres
As much as I love the concept and what the game could be, it's terminally marred by poor design choices.
There is no ability to micro-manage your employees with precision, you end up just selecting them all and telling them to go fight something. They'll stack on top of each other, and you'll only be able to see the top most units health bar. It will always lead to an employee dying without you telling the entire stack to run away, spotting which unit is low on health or sanity while it's running away, then tell that unit specifically to retreat while telling the rest to get back in the fight. A very simple UI change would fix this, but somehow this wasn't in the game, nor is there a mod for it that I can find.
The game also has crashing issues.
The music is great, the game is certainly interesting, but it's beyond frustrating to actually play it, so I can't recommend it.
Looooots of trial and error. Honestly, too much if we're speaking objectively, but f it, my type of game.
Very fun facility management game, one problem though. It sometimes gets memory leaks which forces you to restart the day, which in later days becomes excrutiating.
This game has significantly improved my mental health, and I couldn't recommend a game better than this! It is cheaper to play this game than to attend therapy sessions with a professional! Play Lobotomy Corporation now!
This game has scared me beyond recovery and i'm barely getting into day 25....10/10 would forget to kill 3 clerks and have Queen of Hatred escape for the 7th time this day again
This game is most likely one of and IF NOT one of the best management simulators I have played in a hot minute, 10/10. The abnormality concepts are great, it also requires a good amount of brainpower to play, as you have to strategise on how to beat/deal with certain abnormalities and think of how to upgrade your employees. Glory to Project Moon for this game and its several other great looking ones (Which i have yet to play!)
Gotta say this is the best story driven game I have played so far. The only thing that mentally broke me was day 49, otherwise everything else felt fair and rewarding to beat. Definitely worth giving it a shot even if you don't want to 100% the game, it has enough charm and fun to be had in it.
It's a very mixed recommendation. The lore is great and abnormalities are interesting, but the gameplay is largely about grinding exp for your agents' stats that is repeated over and over. It's not a bad game per se, but I think a different format would have been better to introduce the world. Also, playing this without mods is just unnecessary amount of pain.
