Monsters beyond your imagination, and you: The Manager.

Monsters beyond your imagination, and you: The Manager. Monsters beyond your imagination, and you: The Manager. A roguelite monster-management simulation inspired by the likes of the SCP Foundation, Cabin in the Woods, and Warehouse 13. Order your employees to perform work with the creatures and watch as it unfolds; harness greater energy, and expand the facility. One disaster will lead to another, until everything has fallen into chaos. “I give you a warm welcome to Lobotomy Corporation.”

Lobotomy Corporation is a roguelite monster-management simulation.

Our game was inspired by the monsters birthed of various inspirations featured in games, film, and series, such as the SCP Foundation, Cabin in the Woods, and Warehouse 13. Going further, it was developed with this thought: “What if those monsters were real, and your job were to manage them?”

You will be playing as the Manager of Lobotomy Corporation, a company in which such creatures are contained and managed. Order your employees to perform work with and on the creatures and watch the results expectantly. Gather energy produced by the monsters and fulfill the quota each day, expand the facility, and manage even more strange beings. In this game, the player will face an ever-present sense of tension and dread as they progress through each day.

“Our new technology will bring salvation to humanity.”

Lobotomy Corporation is a newly established energy company that isolates Abnormalities and extracts an infinite amount of energy from them by using independently developed technology, or so it seems on the outside. Join the corporation, and witness the true reality with your own eyes.

Lobotomy Corp. consists of several departments, much like any other company. You will have access to various departments as you harness more energy. The more departments you have unlocked, the more efficient the management of Abnormalities will become.

Furthermore, AIs such as Angela and the ‘Sephirot’ will be at your side to provide all the assistance you need for smooth progression.

Beings that you must constantly research and observe.

We dubbed the creatures that reside in Lobotomy Corporation, ‘Abnormalities’.

You will have to try your best to keep your employees out of danger while extracting as much energy as possible from the Abnormalities. However, you must learn what types of work you should and shouldn’t perform via trial and error.

You start with zero information on the Abnormalities. At first, your eyes, ears, and the in-game manual will be your only hints. Let your intuition pick the work type that might suit the Abnormality best. After that, order the employee who is best suited for the job to work on the Abnormality, and wait for the results. In the process of managing Abnormalities, you will gain the power of information.

The amount of energy you can acquire from Abnormalities will depend heavily on the type of work your employees perform.

This is NOT a tycoon.

As mentioned before, Abnormalities are beings that need to be treated with great care. Some might dislike the idea of being locked inside a Containment Unit, and may sometimes attempt to breach containment.

A breaching Abnormality will attack every employee in sight and disrupt the facility’s systems. Worse still, it could open up other units and cause more Abnormalities to escape. Furthermore, employees eroded or corrupted by certain Abnormalities will have a greatly adverse influence on other employees. Employees brainwashed by Abnormalities might randomly attack those around them, wholly oblivious to what they are doing. In addition, employees may go insane from serious psychic trauma, disobeying your orders and damaging the psyche of other employees around them.

One disaster leads to another, until everything has fallen into chaos.

If you fail to resolve a situation immediately, it will ultimately spiral out of control and throw the whole facility into chaos. When such a situation does occur, you will have to gather employees to suppress any threat and regain control of the situation, or give up parts of the facility to ensure the company’s safety.

“Tell me, manager. Do you have any wishes?”

The game consists of two main portions: Monster Management and visual Story Segments.
Once a day of managing Abnormalities and producing energy ends, the story segment will follow right afterward.

In the Story Segments, dialogue with Angela (the AI you’ll also be seeing occasionally in the management portion of the game) and the Sephirot will play. As you progress through the missions they give, you will come closer to the truth hidden deep in the company. You may have to ask questions, or answer questions from others. Here, you will uncover the secrets surrounding the company and yourself, and mayhaps even more.

“Hello, X.”
“I give you a warm welcome to Lobotomy Corporation.”

My brain was damaged, this game felt like a completely humane procedure to make me feel better that involves ice picks and suffering 🔥

And I can't stop finding Project Moon references in everything I see now.

Lobotomy Corporation is a crazy ass video game. It's almost hard to believe that, in the previously even buggier and machine-translated state it released in that it managed to kickstart the traction that led to Project Moon's current era of Gacha Game Homeostasis, but that is as much a confusing question as it is a compliment to Lobotomy Corp. It is a game I am very unsure about recommending people in the same way I do many of my favorite games, including the sequel, Ruina, but that's because Lobotomy Corporation is a game made for freaks like me. It is evil, it is messy, it is painfully repetitive at times and there are plenty of legitimate points of criticism to leverage at it that'll make many people bounce off of it and never return. Endure, however, and you get the front-row seats to a game that manages to palpably push through the theme of finding meaning and redemption through punishment and suffering better than anything I've played by making you endure it firsthand.

Lobotomy Corporation is a management game that in contrast to many management sims from hell does not have overbearing and ridiculous complexity that earns its reputation. It is, in fact, quite simple. All you have to do every day is generate energy by performing work with your weird locked up monsters, and suppress them should they breach containment and cause problems. Neither of these are particularly complex systems, either - you have 4 options for work that each abnormality responds differently to both in terms of energy production and their own personal behaviour, sometimes killing or inflicting employees with unusual conditions if you make a bad choice. The combat is merely has two axis of engagement to start, being that you can make employees attack something, and you can make employees move around if you want them to retreat. All other systems are secondary to this - researching abnormalities as you work with them enables you to better select the options they like in order to produce more energy and understand their rules and what will cause them to kill employees or breach, and you can obtain gear from them named E.G.O. that can be equipped to your employees to aid in suppressing them alongside other hostile entities that will appear in your facility to cause problems.

To this end, Lobotomy Corporation's reputation seems bizarrely unearned with how simple it is. The true terror, however, is that Lobotomy Corporation takes advantage of a simplistic set of base mechanics to give you the authentic SCP overseer experience. Every day you're forced to take in a new, unknowable creature that can cause headache inducing disasters out of the blue before you fully understand it, and will often be a nightmare to keep pacified without willingly or accidentally sacrificing people to it once you do. Many abnormalities can be surprisingly tame, but at least half of the roster in this game contributes to a progressively increasing mental stack of rules you have to remember because you don't get the luxury of only working on the nice, simple ones. Many game mechanics and indeed, the ever-increasing energy requirements demand that you regularly engage with your facility's most lethal inhabitants, and it's very common for one slip-up to lead into a comedy of errors as all hell breaks loose because one moderately dangerous abnormality breached and 3 others decided it's time to join the party.

This is the strength of Lobotomy Corporation, to me. The simple base mechanics allow the unique quirks of every abnormality to shine, and with a respectably large roster that'll likely take you 2 or 3 replays to see in full, it never gets stale figuring out what they do perhaps barring the Tools. And while they have "correct" options to interact with them, some of them can be so dangerous and hostile you have to be proactively predicting their breach, willingly making sacrifices to keep them locked down, and all sorts of difficult choices that do require good crisis management skill despite how obvious the game seems at first. Remembering and keeping track of everything is frustrating, punishing, and mentally exhausting, but so satisfying when you do it right.

EGO and the equipment system ingame is undeniably cool, and equipping your employees thoughtfully to handle specific issues as you encounter them is a great system. Combat, on the other hand, has only 1 real complexity to introduce outside of the basic 2 mechanics you get access to halfway through your first run, and it only partially addresses the frustrating aspects of it. Lob Corp gives you basically no direct control outside of basic options, often feels like it's deliberately relying on janky techniques like iframing attacks by going up and down elevators to drive any sort of difficulty late game, and constantly obfuscates information that would allow you to make informed and productive decisions when it really matters. A hilarious aspect of this is the employee fear system, which is a sanity debuff inflicted to low-level employees trying to fight more powerful foes. The indicator, however actually OBFUSCATES THEIR HP BAR for like 15 seconds, which is more than enough time for the abnormality they're fighting to kill them. There are ways around this, but the fact that you so often have to work against the game's systems to do stuff like properly position employees with ranged weapons or check if someone's about to die is less of a "engaging, difficult feature" and more just annoying to me.

All of this is compounded by Lobotomy Corporation's infamous technical side. While the combat isn't atrocious and on paper I think works well as a compliment to the true main feature of management, many of this game's biggest challenges do have an oddly over-the-top focus on combat that combined with poor optimization, weird bugs and general jank, results in many employee deaths as a result of factors you can't even properly control for every 3 or so that are undeniably your fault. I rarely do this, but I'd recommend looking into the Lobotomy Corporation Modding Wiki's recommended mods and installing stuff that isn't too cheaty. Fixing the performance and removing certain weird decisions like the appearance customization cost are only good changes, to me.

Despite how mean I'm being, I hope it can be clear that most of these frustrations not interfering with the glowing positives of the game illustrate how much I love Lobotomy Corporation. It's definitely not for everyone, but to me that's not a downside. There's always something that feels like you lose when you sand off rough edges, and while I think Lob Corp has many edges that are merely frustrating, the sheer quantity of hilariously evil shit in it is something that Limbus or even Ruina could never match.

Just too buggy and unpredictable to spend real time with. Decided to uninstall+hide after an abnormality kept instantly killing agents at random immediately after starting work, which wasn't part of any of its behavior either in-game or from any of the wikis. Game is already enough of a tedious restart fest without dealing with unfixed bugs still in the game long after the developer moved on to other titles. Maybe get it on a $5 or less sale to play around with it if you're curious.

This game is insanely good but also a challenge for the most unemployed individuals out there with its repetition. L corp is a management sim where you manage abnormalities (scps) for energy 50 days straight. While facing other challenges such your own attention span. This game gets very difficult, the more you play it, but has insane lore making it worth playing if you have the time(guys I swear I'm not a gooner). If you decide to play this game, I challenge you to beat it under 100 hours, and good luck :D

“I am the best AI, don’t listen to anyone telling you otherwise, that’s how they get you to ask yourself funny questions that you really shouldn’t”
-Angela

Interesting, unique, amazing, don’t play it.
Lobotomy Corporation may me the hardest title to recommend yet.
A rough, unpolished gem that if it was any less impenetrable it wouldn’t have had the same splash.

Gameplay

Anomalies are in their containment cells, you command which workers to send to their inevitable doom by selecting what type of interaction to perform without knowing how said entity will react.
Why?
To generate and meet the daily energy quota required to progress onto the next day.

Between days the story plays out Visual Novel style, after which you’ll have to select a new unknown Anomaly and repeat with more energy required this time while trying to have as many employees survive… or not, they are expendable after all.

There are a few ways you can skew the scale towards a win though:
Use the unique energy resources given by each Anomaly to unlock information about them such as what kind of work-type to perform for best results, or what conditions trigger an escape so you can best prevent it from happening.
Use the same resource as above to craft armor with various resistances or weapons since there’s more than just a bit of fighting to do.
Complete character-given missions to get permanent upgrades and be ready to abuse the built-in savescumming mechanic to keep progress while rewinding to a previous state.

Also, to spice things up, after enough “works” took place, random events will happen testing your ability to both macro and micro-manage employees.

Story

You are the new manager of energy-titan Lobotomy Corporation, an industry that supplies power to the rest of the world, tasked to meet quotas with the help of a blue-haired AI-waifu.

As days go by you unlock more of the facility along with characters each adding more to the setting and craziness that this world has to offer.

X-Factor

The lore runs deep and paints a beautifully complex, cruel, and interesting world one would like to get lost in.

It makes no effort to hide its inspirations, giving fans the “Anomaly Containment” game nobody made before, but everyone wanted.

Each anomaly is unique in its effects and containment procedure

Downsides

Day 36, I just gathered all energy to end the day and decided to go for the 5 waw suppression mission after 1h of setting up everything as to not make anything escape, and then I made the biggest mistake of all... i looked at the times for a whole three seconds, and a random clerk dies prompting an anomaly to escape, prompting two other to escape in the middle of a meltdown who whipped instantly the whole facility undoing all my progress, and this exact scenario happened multiple times, call it a skill issue but I'm not going to sit through 50 more hours of menial work just to get a one minute cutscene.

I realize it may be a me problem with the game, but at the same time it feels built to the unfair.

Playability and replayability are fucked, the game has a good amount of great tracks but 95% of it is spent listening to the same two, UI is abysmal ad you have to go through multiple menus just to check simple stuff such as health and sanity or other stats of your employees, not knowing something nets you with a forced reset multiple tens of hours in, and even playing through again you can’t just zone out when you know stuff because you’ll have to constantly micromanage stuff or retry an hour-long section for a lapse of attention of about 3 seconds.

I was THIS close to not recommending the game but the amount of uniqueness and how bonkers the story goes won me over, so get the game if you can really stomach a management game that feels like an uphill battle.

Lobotomy Corporation isn’t just a game—it’s a mental construct designed to break your spirit in slow, calculated increments. It presents itself with a clean interface, some snappy corporate lingo, and an intriguing promise: “Face the fear, build the future.” But what it actually delivers is a psychological meat grinder wrapped in a twisted office simulator. The further you get into it, the more you realize it’s not just challenging, it’s really personal, the amount of mental breakdowns this game causes over a stupid lost employee that takes away lots of progress and potential luck.

From the outside, Lobotomy Corporation has the look of a quirky indie game with mysterious monsters and weird SCP-like flavor. You’re the manager. You make decisions. You run a corporation. But the reality is more sinister. This isn’t about progress. It’s about control. Or more specifically, the illusion of it. You find out you're being manipulated but you just shrug it off. This game was made in the deepest pit of hell.

You don’t play Lobotomy Corporation as much as submit to it. The UI is sterile and mechanical. The music loops calmly as if nothing horrific is happening. The serenity of the interface versus the chaos it conceals is maddening. It’s a spreadsheet hell with horror lurking behind every box and dropdown menu. Every time you hear the light bells you get a shudder of terror and trauma.

But the most punishing part isn’t even the difficulty. It’s the restarts.

Restarting in Lobotomy Corporation is an emotional event. Not because you lost—failure isn’t loud or dramatic. It’s slow. Quiet. Creeping. You realize, gradually, that things have gone wrong beyond recovery. And then you’re faced with a cold truth: you have to go back, restart it all. Yes, you have your EGO—but at what cost?

Back to the title screen. Back to watching the same conversations, the same dialogue boxes, the same menus pretending they’re offering you choice. But you know better now: your “choices” are just new paths to different types of failure. You begin again, not because you want to, but because you have no other option.

Each restart feels heavier than the last. The game doesn’t care how many hours you put in. It barely cares what you learned. It strips you of progress like it’s a punishment. Maybe that’s the real design—an experiment not in gameplay, but in endurance.

It never is. Not really.

The game is opaque by design. It feeds on your curiosity. You want to know more about the abnormalities. About the facility. About that damn Angela. You convince yourself that the suffering is worth it.

But eventually, something changes. You don’t look forward to progress—you fear it. You dread unlocking something new because it means: more rules, more pain, more systems layered on top of the ones you still barely understand. You move through menus like a ghost. You no longer rage-quit. You just restart again.

Because that's what Lobotomy Corporation does best. It rewires your tolerance for frustration. It trains you to accept suffering as part of the process. It slowly bleeds your motivation until you’re not even playing for fun anymore. You’re playing because you have to finish this.

Restarting in Lobotomy Corporation is not a failure state. It's a ritual. A reset of your expectations. A moment to realize that what you learned doesn’t matter. This is not a game that teaches you to overcome. It teaches you to endure.

But if the constant restarting is the erosion of your will, the combat is the jagged edge that slices through whatever resolve you have left.

Combat isn’t designed to be “fun.” It’s not cinematic or reactive. You watch tiny agents fight horrors not with strategy, but with hope. You assign them like a manager signing a death warrant. When agents die, they don’t scream. They brutally explode. Like data being deleted.

And maybe that’s worse.

Then there are the Abnormalities that don’t just kill you—they humiliate you. Some combat encounters aren’t about strength. They’re about absurd, almost puzzle-like mechanics. You walk into a fight only to watch half your team melt, explode, go insane, or turn on the others. All because you didn't spend 6 points to read another document?

No fight is fair. No breach is manageable unless you’ve already seen it before and memorized its behavior. Even then, the game stacks the odds. A weak agent’s panic can trigger a chain reaction. One breach leads to another. Panic spreads. Clerks die. And all you can do is watch the spiral unfold.

Combat feels like solving a Rubik’s Cube while it’s on fire and someone’s deleting the instructions in real time. You keep trying because you think you’re learning. But sometimes the game just says “no.” Sometimes it rewards cruelty and punishes empathy.

And then, the true insanity sets in: the knowledge that even if you win the fight, you probably lost the day.

You lost your best agents. You lost valuable gear. You lost time. And in Lobotomy Corporation, time is agony. So what do you do? You reload. Or worse—you restart because you realize how bad your facility placement was.

And let’s not forget the Ordeals. These aren’t encounters. These are punishment rituals. They spawn in silence and erupt in chaos. The game throws them at you to see how long it takes before you break.

This isn't a power fantasy. It's a fragility simulator. A machine that shows you how little control you have, how combat isn’t the climax—it’s the cost of curiosity and the life of your sephirah.

And you’ll fight anyway. Because a part of you wants to prove something to the game, to yourself.

But the game doesn’t care.

You fight. You lose. You restart. And the machine spins on.

At some point, you stop seeing your employees as people. Not because you want to. But because the system trains you to.

In the beginning, you care. You name your agents. You monitor their stats. You celebrate when they survive. You tell yourself you’re doing your best.

But that doesn’t last.

Eventually, someone dies. Then another. And another. And you realize: you can’t protect them all.

So your mindset shifts.

You stop naming them. They become tools. Resource vessels. A Level 5 agent with high Fortitude is a unit, not a person. You start arranging them like chess pieces. You start sacrificing them—not with guilt, but with efficiency. You rationalize it. And you move on.

And that's exactly what the game wants from you.

Because Lobotomy Corporation isn’t just about managing a facility. It’s about surrendering to it. It invites you in with the promise of order, then reveals a system where life is just another resource. The longer you play, the more robotic you become. You send agents into death traps to test abnormalities. You use lives to gain knowledge.

And the most terrifying part? You start calling that progress.

By the midpoint of your playthrough, you’ve become the thing the game critiques. You embody the corporation. You sacrifice the weak. You repeat tragedies because the cost of learning is blood. You’re part of the machine.

The dehumanization is a psychological transformation. The game doesn’t make you into a monster. It shows you that you already were one. It just gave you a clean space to let it happen.

And if you reflect on who you've become—if you think back to the first agent you tried to protect—you might feel something.

But it won’t last. Because the next day is about to begin.

And there’s no time to feel. Only time to optimize.

Nice game 10/10.

This game is both wacky and difficult at the same time. Without mods it can get really time consuming. But it gets really rewarding as you get used to it and use that same wack to your advantage. Soooo if youre up to the challenge and dont mind putting 50-100 hours in then good luck and enjoy. I really do recommend putting some quality of life and especially optimization mods.

Short, to the point, review: Get it if you like SCP-like settings, managment games, and are up to grinding against a rogue-like type game that is unforgivable to mistakes and will make you reset multiple times to get it.

Now, onto the more fun part review...

This game is weird. Initially, it just seems like an SCP simulator of controlling "abnormalities" which are their way to not say SCP, and dealing with the quirks of each one. Learning what to do, wha not to do. How they interact with each other, how they synergize with each other or don't.

This can quickly turn into a very obnoxious experience, since there are some abnormalities that directly punish you for doing the right thing. For example, having a lot of high level agents means this one specimen will always breach, because they only like to work with low level people.

Or if you happen to get two particular abnormalities in the same floor, and those happen to be the ones that respectively like to be watched and don't like to be watched, then one will always break out.

It's game of picking up your poison most of the time. Trying to get things as manageable as possible. And, to be honest, that is often not fun. Some abnormalities you never, ever want to have. That's to me a game flaw, because I should not have to restrict myself from a challenge to have fun.

That aside, the story is really rich..., but also isn't.

Lobotomy Corp feels like a prequel to a story we haven't been told about. This is supposed to be the first entry of the Project Moon's games, yet it is so vague, so incomplete, that it would be a stretch to say you get a full view behind the curtain after finishing it.

It keeps mentioning scenarios and terminology that doesn't ever come clean, and only does once you play Library of Ruina or watch a review on YouTube. That means that, by itself, the story is awful because it leaves you not having any answers after grinding hours upon hours on RNG and micro-managing.

However..., I still loved it. I love a story that is not afraid of being original, I love that the devs took a gamble selling us half a story, and then delivered with Ruina to complete the gaps. I love that Lobotomy Corp has such an interesting, fully self-indulged story that is clear that they were passionated about writting, regardless of if people would do so too.

It's original. And that's very, very rare nowadays.

But I'd have to say that after trying out the sequel - Library of Ruina...... Gameplay isn't the same. No knowledge from Lobotomy will translate to it, gameplay-wise. They complete dropped the managing abnormalities theme, which is a bummer but, oh well...

I still think you should try it if you like SCP and very lore-heavy stories. But keep in mind this game does not hold your hand. There is no easy mode, there are no cheats. Project Moon makes you have to pay the toll to complete their game.

This can be seen as a flaw, since probably less than 5% of the people that try this game will ever finish it, or a really clever decision, since if you complete it you'll be among the 5% of people that actually did!

I'd recommend checking out communities aimed to offer assistance and meme about Lobotomy if you happen to like it. It does help a lot to feel the struggle less lonely. The subreddit of the game is specially good, and has a ton of useful information.

Overall, this ia decent game if you like challenges. Just be ready for a ton of pain.

An unforgettable experience of a game that actually makes you feel like you AREN'T supposed to beat it and to achieve its true goal;
the world's lore, general moral atmosphere and storytelling partially mirror our reality (even if mostly exaggerated - this shit simply WILL make you feel, especially if you live in a big, busy city and have seen many aspects of human civilization, especially in psychological and social aspects)
For me this game and this whole franchise shows what will become of our world if we surrender to raw, unfiltered rationality(hello AI artists)

If I review Lobotomy Corporation in narrative department, I'll give it 8/10 - complex themes with excellent expression, but feeling a bit incoherent(for a reason, maybe it's just me)
As a game it's an outstanding experience both in good and bad ways:

Good from the gameplay standpoint, its philosophy of trials and errors and encouraging of using your abnormalities in creative ways to complete tasks at hand, truly original in ways of soundtrack and its correlation with the gameplay and the narrative;

Bad, sometimes tedious difficulty spikes, management tools, micro-controlling and performance issues (mfw there's so much stuff on your screen it drops down to 30fps on a powerful setup). Plus the game seriously tests your mettle in departments you probably never thought you'd be tested, it's definitely not for all players, so if you look for something simple and relaxing - this is not for you.

Trying to be as objective as possible and avoid one-sided opinions, so overall I give it

7/10 - Great for its budget and scale of development, but has outdated aspects that can easily ruin your experience (or multiply it)

I'm a huge fan of chthonic horrors beyond my comprehension on the verge of being possible prophecies, so for me it'll be a forever life-changing experience.

My letter of love to Project Moon,
Thank you!

Honestly an amazing game despite being a bit of an acquired taste.

The game kinda expects a lot of you, and if you don't follow through with at least a few long in-game days of employee training and occasional memory repo (takes you back to a checkpoint which refresehs every 5 days) or even day 1 resets it can get very difficult. Still, I beat the game (without 100% abno log, that's for after ruina) without a day 1 reset and only about 5 memory repos and it was a grueling but amazing experience. You will get attached to your agents, come to love some abnormalities and hate some, and get both your agents and your sanity tortured and killed. But if you stick through until the end, day 50 is simply one of the most rewarding endings I've experienced in a videogame.

I get the jokes about the game being awful and janky, but I do feel like it's very much a worthwhile time investment, although in moderation because it did ruin my sleep schedule. Watching a playthrough isn't enough and I'm glad i didn't, since experiencing the story first hand connected to gameplay is the best part. So don't be scared to give the game a shot. Face the fear, build the future.

I recommend playing with mods (you can find them on nexus). A lot of people complain about the tedium of this game, though personally I don't find it that bad. I just find that a lot of the rewards in the form of ego are underwhelming at times. But mods can change that! There's a series of mods reworking a large amount of egos in the game, and ofc you can add more as well. Significantly more fun modded.

Its taken me an extremely long time (im not very good at videogames) to beat this game. It is very, very difficult and there will be moments where you inevitably get screwed over by the abnormalities that you pick or the glitches you will inevitably experience. But its worth it. The story and characters of this game is worth any amount of pain. Also, its very fun to experiment with abnormalities and figure them out. I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is up for a challenge.

Lobotomy Corporation quickly became an unexpected favorite of mine. It’s a roguelite (or rogue-like?) management game where you oversee abnormalities (basically SCPs) to harvest energy. I’d never ventured into management games before, but the captivating setting and intriguing characters drew me in.

I initially picked up this game to familiarize myself with the world of Project Moon and get a sense of its universe before diving into Limbus Company. However, as I delved deeper, I found myself completely hooked. The unfolding lore, the company’s secrets, and the dark backstories of both the characters and yourself create a narrative that keeps you engaged as each day progresses.

The difficulty starts out manageable, but as you encounter more abnormalities, it becomes increasingly challenging—even frustrating. I won’t sugarcoat it: halfway through, dealing with some absurdly difficult abnormalities nearly drove me to quit and uninstall the game. But my determination was reignited after completing my first suppression (essentially a boss fight) and witnessing the character development that followed. That moment motivated me to see the journey through to the end.

Sometimes, I wonder if I'm a bit of a masochist for playing such punishing games. Then again, I imagine anyone who enjoys high-difficulty games can relate to this strange yet satisfying experience.

This game is so beautifully amazing. It challenges your mental properties by overwhelming you beyond repair. The amount of times I had to pause and reflect on my each and every action exceeds that of a normal time.

10/10 would play through again.

This game will ask you to discover new abnormalities while training your employees, before having your newly aquired "dog" breach containement within seconds and start rampaging through your entire facility, forcing a restart. This game will force you to learn and deal with gimmick after gimmick, from those that will kill for the slightest mistake to those that completely warp the way you play... for the worse. This game will force you to restart from the beginning if you can't keep up with the ever increasing difficulty. And if this isn't enough, the "bosses" WILL break you.

I loved this game. the challenge was fun to overcome, i enjoyed every new horrible creature that entered my facility with all the new ways to kill everyone each added, and the story, while very cryptic, is magnificent and accompanies your journey beautifully. two hundred hours to finish this, and i still ended up starting another save to discover all the other creatures i missed out on.

highly recommend giving it a try, if you can enjoy a challenge. even if you can't finish it (i almost didn't), it's easy to get your money's worth.

This game is very fun! I'm gotten to day 11, which doesn't seem to be very far, but i've greatly enjoyed my time!

My only complaint is that there is no way to significantly control or influence the clerks. I know their deaths don't cause you to be penalized, but it's a shame that I have no way to save them from completely preventable deaths (Like when the clowns explode and kill all of them near it).

🪦 *SCP meets Baba Is You.*
You are manager. Manager is panic. Panic is policy. Policy is pain. You is screwed.

---

✅ Pros
🧠 Deep, cryptic lore for people who enjoy decoding madness
📖 SCP-style worldbuilding with chilling backstories
😈 Unique concept that merges horror and management
💡 Teaches you about yourself. Not in a fun way.

❌ Cons
🎛 Interface is a full-blown war crime
🎲 RNG means “do everything right” still equals “everyone dies”
🔁 Restarting days is basically the core gameplay loop
🕳 Progress often feels like climbing out of a pit you’re still digging
🩺 Might require emotional recovery snacks

---

🧠 **Full Review:**

Some people like this game. And I get it. Some people also like chewing glass.

*Lobotomy Corporation* is a beautiful nightmare — a simulation where you're tasked with managing a facility full of anomalous horrors. It presents itself like a spreadsheet’s haunted twin: energy quotas, employee stats, risk categories… and then something explodes and Gary is gone forever.

The UI is aggressively hostile. The controls are clunky. And worst of all? You *learn*. You start to understand how the monsters work. You begin predicting the chaos. And that’s when the game tightens its grip.

Every time you fail, you restart. And every time you restart, you're better — not because the game helped you, but because you've been broken in just the right places. This is not progression. This is conditioning.

And that’s the trap.

The game masterfully uses **intermittent reinforcement** — the same behavioral loop tested in lab rats. Give a reward *sometimes*, punish *occasionally*, and the subject becomes addicted to pressing the button. Even if the button causes suffering. Even if the button doesn’t work. Even if the button kills Gary again.

You are the rat. And the cheese is knowledge.

---

🧾 **Final Verdict:**

There are games that reward your time. There are games that respect your mind. And then there’s Lobotomy Corporation — a fascinating, brutal, unique experience that teaches you more about behavioral addiction than most psychology courses.

If you’re here to learn about the mechanics of obsession, the science of inconsistent rewards, and how easily our brains can be hijacked by false hope — this game is a case study.

If you’re here for a good time?

🛑 Don’t.

This game is amazing… for 10 hours. And then it becomes a slow psychological descent into restart hell.

All in all a though call, but overall for most people reading this, I can not recommend it.

Unless you enjoy suffering in the name of science.

Or you miss your toxic ex and you want that pleasure pain slot machine experience.

It's definitely not a game for everyone, but I do genuinely think this is a very good and fun game! I do think it has its flaws, mostly in how it fails to explain its core gameplay loop, and how some of the later challenges are balanced, but even then I genuinely enjoyed almost every major difficulty spike, it really is just a two or three challenges I ended up not enjoying. another major thing that impressed me abt this game is how well it runs most of the time, at least for me. I play on a laptop that will shit itself with pretty much every game ever, and it can run Lobotomy Corporation just fine outside of situations in which I really pushed it's limits. For a game that's known for being janky as hell, I rarely actually felt any real jank, and among all of it there's really only one case where I feel it weighs down the experience.
If you're not sure you'd enjoy this game, I'd probably air on the side of caution since Lob corp is a Commitment that saves it's most frustrating sections til the very end, leading many to suffer through many hours before inevitably dropping it and not having any fun with it, but if it does interest you and you're willing to sink 100+ hours into a game that will make you feel like you're going insane, please do buy it I Adore this game and I think more people should give it an honest shot! It's become one of my favorite games in recent times and I think it's well worth it.

I played this game initially because I wanted to know the story before playing Library of Ruina. To my surprise, this game was a grind fest. To get the story, you'd need to dedicate many hours to memorizing, learning mechanics, and overcoming the extreme amount of bullshit that came from the fucking magical girl. All to progress this extremely convoluted story for the sequel of this game. Overall, this game hits... MY NUTS REALLY FUCKING HARD. Totally worth it though. I recommend playing this game if you hate yourself and have nothing else better to do.

I'm shocked by how many people seem to hate the gameplay, as personally it really scratched an itch that I never knew I had. Managing SCPs that all have different conditions while trying to optimize the balance between finishing quickly or training your employees was really fun. Even at the beginning, grabbing a new abnormality to learn about was (usually) a really fun experience where I had to intuit the right action based on their appearance.

That being said, the game's difficulty is definitely not a curve. It is a flat plain for a good portion, and then it becomes a mountain as the game truly opens up when you start your first suppression, followed by a nice slide down into a plateau, then a sheer cliff. And so on.

Especially if you beat it without losing a single nugget...

I know I have a short play time as of now, but my review is serious. This is genuinely one of the worst video games I have ever played. It is incredibly unenjoyable, causes chronic stress, and is legitimately unplayable at some points. I hate this game with all of my soul, and I do not wish any single person to ever touch this game ever again. However, this was not a misclick.
