Second best warhammer rts of all time
I liked it, OG 2 is the best but this one wasnt so bad. I guess this is the "Soulstorm" of the DoW2 trilogy. Its real sin was setting us up for what would become the vomit inducing light show that was 3
Legend.
What is your duty? To serve the Emperor's will!
One of the best grimdark 40k RTS franchises.
Its better than Soulstorm and DOW3. Its all tears from here. Enjoy this and make a jump to the more current titles.
A culmination of the Dawn of War 2 design, allowing you to play through as a Hero-based or more Army-based method. The lack of variety in campaigns is a bit disappointing, but the sheer number of available factions is very welcome after the Space Marine focus of DoW 2 and Chaos Rising. The gear system is understandably pared back, but the little bits of lore on every piece of wargear are as interesting as ever. Though the story doesn't change much by faction, the writing helps smooth over the problems. The orks remain hilarious, and the tyranids bring their own out-of-context humour to the situation.
Worst of the DoW2 variants. They leaned too far into the MOBA themes. Give me squads. I want my "heroes" to be part of squads. Chaos Rising is infinitely better, but this is still good.
Like coh2 but in warhammer 40k.
Still a great game
Our will shall be our weapons, our faith shall be our armour.
OK, this is a tough one for me, the game itself is pretty good, is still Dawn of War II at its core, the problem is that it is a little obvious that this game focus was "The Last Stand" part, the campaigns are, practically speaking, more or less the same missions with the same events, and more or less the same order, there are some changes here and there, but some are so small you can't even notice them sometimes. The missions are pretty good, but if you want to complete all the races, having to complete what is essentially the same campaign six times is a little too much. That being said the game is, as I said before, more DoW II, so is still pretty good and fun. Since I don't play online and don't really care about The Last Stand, I can't say a lot about them, for what my friend tell me, they are pretty good, a little repetitive, but good anyway.
Blood for the blood god
Fun game, it just ignores your in put some times. Some commands will be grayed out for no apparent reason the game likes to swap between left click and right click being confirm on using an ability. Leap and teleport over walls and map geometry but over a gap on the floor? Sorry, you have to take the long way around.
Been playing for years
Is good game.
BURN THE ENEMIES OF MAN IN HOLY FIRE!
Chaotic game.
good
A Well Made Game But The Only Downside Is The Army Limit. Overall I Give It A 10/10 For Gameplay And AI Intelligence That Actually Defends The Bases When They Are Getting Attacked By Hostiles.
heheheh Shovel go brrrrr
fun game :)
great game.
Most finely portrayed 40k and mods so far.
As of now, Elite mod is where most players are at, one can find matches every 5 mins. You may find prolific players with thousands of hours soaked in it.
Play the rich Codex mod for 40k lore experience and lonely skirmishes with great AI.
The Last Stand co-op mode has players every few minutes or so.
good game dont get 3 3 sucks dosent run good on most pcs this one needs titans and flyers though
The last cashgrab, its all downhill from here.
pretty good 40k game
its DOW2
The Emperor Protects
even more wonderfuler
Cool
brillant addition to my DOW collection
One of the best Warhammer 40k RTS games i've played. Love the story and the charactors
=)
over rated, DOW 1 better
it keep crashing
best goddamn game
goated game.
Inmortal Jewel of the videogame industry
This game is actually amazing, when i saw a warhammer 40k rts, i had to buy it. I didnt buy the first one since i prefer smaller armies and better graphics, but overall its a good game with en engaging story and skirmish mode. (Terminators are just so 😍)
Excelente juego
cant open on a second monitor, defies the shift + win + arrow key command. just opens up a black box on the side of your other monitor but the game remains firmly rooted on the main monitor.
tops game
It's fun! I literally only played the last stand.
Still one of the best 40k multiplayers around.
Excellent expansion, had a lot of fun with the new factions.
Buy it on sale, play last stand, profit.
INTRODUCTION:
Dawn of War II: Retribution is the third and final expansion to the Dawn of War II titles. (Also see my Reviews for Dawn of War II and Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising).
The story takes place after the events of Chaos Rising where Gabriel Angelos and his followers were labeled as renegades by their own Chapter Master Azariah Kyras. With the Tyranid invasions, Ork assaults, Chaos Incursions and Eldar Raids, the Imperium has had enough and has now sent the Inquisition to wipe Sub-sector Aurelia from the Galaxy. The player assumes the role of Captain Apollo Diomedes of the Blood Ravens Honor Guard in his quest to uncover the truth about his Brothers and the Chapter Master he serves.
PROS:
+ More Factions in the Singleplayer Campaign: - It is refreshing to see that Relic decided to bring back their old formula where other factions are now playable. This includes, Orks, Eldar, Chaos, Imperial Guard and Tyranids. No Tau though.
+ Active Multiplayer Scene: - I normally don't care about Multiplayer in games but I found it very impressive that there still exists a very active online multiplayer community. Last Stand is always fun to play.
+ Imperial Guard: - This faction is the latest addition to the multiplayer / skirmish mode and is very fun to play. Well balanced in my opinion and has added new and interesting characters with likable personalities like Sergeant Merrick.
+ Hero Replacement: - You can now field special Honor Guard units rather than the Hero units you are given. Example: Leave Scout Sergeant Cyrus and deploy a Terminator Honor Guard Squad instead.
The game's attention to the Warhammer 40,000 universe is impressive, with detailed units, environments, and lore.
good game
it no work
