DIS A ROIGHT ORKY WAAAAAAAAGH!!!! AND WE'ZE GUN SHOW DEM HUMIE GITS A PROPA RIOT. REV UP DA CHOPPAZ LOAD DA SHOOTAS AND WAKE DA SQUIGS, WE'ZE GON GIVE EM A PROPA ORKY CRUMPIN!
Good game. I am Warcraft refugee and have been enjoying my exploration into Warhammer. The crusade spin on the classic RTS gives the story a nice feeling of progress.
After exploring this game I loved it, but it does have some faults. The AI can be very frustrating when trying to move certain troops. Since I chose Necron, the skeles would get stuck behind my destroyers or spiders, so I'd have to force them to move on their own, which meant forcing them to move out of the general army in straight lines. Also some troops get stuck behind the great Pyramid when it starts flying.
Burn the Heretic!
Kill the Mutant!
Purge the Unclean!
Spooky Scary Necrons 💀
Dark Crusade is great. Might be better than Soulstorm.
Dark Crusade is my favourite expansion pack of the WH40K DoW 1.
I finished singleplayer campaign many times for majority of races.
"Onward, to glory!"
Лучшая игра человечества
Absolutely timeless game. Even more fun with mods.
when you're stuck on a battle for about two hours and still having fun you know the game is great
Loved this game when I was a kid, still love it rly fun even if I am not a fan of the Warhammer 40k at all.
imperial guards took 5 years off my life
Great game, far better than all the other versions, SoulStorm is also good but you cant use every faction in it
Great quality game.
I really enjoy it—smooth gameplay, fast-paced action, and well-balanced mechanics. Space Marines are my favorite faction to play, and the campaign is awesome. The addition of skirmishes helps keep things fresh and varied.
It may be an older game now, but it still holds up remarkably well.
I give it a solid 9/10.
Open game play imperial guard spend half a of 2 weeks conquering the whole planet to be lore accurate
its warhammer rts its rad i love it
Great game
great game -
lots of re-playability. challenging and fun
"For the dark gods!"
Positives:
+ Non-linear campaign with race selection where AI can even completely defeat another race.
+ New expansion races: Tau and Necrons.
+ Voice acting.
Negatives:
- Pathfinding for units is terrible.
- Province defense is the same every time.
Suffer not the witch to live
Playing space dinosaurs alongside with pulse rifle ninja smurfs against Hello Kitty Space Marines is the best part of that game.
Great nostalgic game
its good game
I've really enjoyed this game, and I think it is "For The Greater Good".
I play it from time to time when I just have a few hours with nothing going on. Its just a fun RTS game that feels like 40k tabletop.
Granted I use the T'au Empire everywhere, so take what I say with a Grain-of-Salt.
This game is really fun and the factions are done really good
10/10 (Wish there where tyranids)
Grew up with this game. Still holds up even today. I love this game! :D
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Dark Crusade is my favorite entry in the series. This game left a huge impression on me from the very beginning. The deep and immersive campaign, where you choose your faction and conquer the planet one territory at a time, made every decision feel important. The variety of factions, each with their own unique playstyle and story, kept the experience fresh and exciting.
Even today, Dark Crusade stands out for its atmosphere, strategic depth, and replayability. It was through this game that I truly fell in love with the Warhammer 40,000 universe. For me, it remains the strongest and most memorable part of the Dawn of War series.
Great Game
-Tau is absolutely OP
-Guard is pretty good too
-Campaign feels like a survival horror at certain points
-10/10 would play again
great game ! one million times better that Dawn of War 3
I still play this game at least once a week
For the Greater Good
It's a jolly good romp. Don't let the words "Grimdark Future" throw you off, it's real upbeat. Nice and friendly, very bright and wonderful environment, world and scenery. The combat is extremely pg-13 friendly, so definitely get your little ones playing this.
It also has farming and fishing! Who doesn't like that.
Also, that is raspberry jam coming out of the Imperial Guardsmen when the Commissar uses his sleep gun on the backs of their heads to restore morale. It's fun for the whole family!
Easy nomination for hood classic RTS thats super easy to get into. I got this game from a friend forever ago and we all played on laptops using hamachi. Love the campaign and co-op is so fun against orks (AI for that faction is pretty brutal). Plenty of character in the voice acting and presentation, too. 9/10
its like the comand and conqurer series with a better setting (however the pathing AI makes me want to commint acts of violence)
While I like Base DoW and Winter Assault's linear campaigns more, Dark Crusade's strategy map gameplay is a cool feature which makes it more re-playable and adding an extra element to the gameplay.
I did find the gameplay harder (I admit I'm far from the best player) and it can get a little repetitive, but overall it's a cool expansion with its own unique flair. Also, while less linear, there is an expansive campaign and lore for each faction, so if you have the patience for it, there is a lot of that too.
[i]The warriors of the Inquisition are yours to command.
I will remember this game on my deathbed and then start believing that my life support is the golden throne and that I must power the astronomican to guide humanity through the warp
Game is very glitchy, save function seems to fail half way through a campaign. I have only been able to complete one campaign out of the 5 I have started.
Necrons OP - other than that, great game.
challenging game, beautiful graphics

Best game Relic ever made.
A true classic. Love it just as much today as I did in 2006-2007 when I bought the DVD game. You can not beat the Dawn of War series. They need to remaster this series with modern graphix.
Risk battle map for a campaign. Fun times.
This game is not for the weak.Be sure to study the benefits of your Elite that you buy on the overview screen.Makes a big difference.DO TUTORIAL. still fun even though I got smashed for an hour straight.
never play as tau
"Identify our targets, and we will destroy them."
wa wa wee wa is a very nice! i have a chair i have a chair
This game rules.
An oldie but a goodie. In terms of classic base building RTS games this is one of the best, clearly taking inspiration from the like of Warcraft and Age of Empires, but adding new mechanics and maintaining the Warhammer 40,000 aesthetic. Ignore realism and forget about advanced squad controls as seen in later DoW games, this is an army control game.
For all that though this game isn't perfect. Its showing its age in many ways, with somewhat clunky UI controls and missing quality of life elements. The enemy AI can be quickly overcome and starts unraveling if a game lasts too long, and the unit pathing and structure placement rules are a little janky in places. My biggest gripe is that units move to the minimum required range to target an enemy with the longest range weapon in the squad; if the unit has some weapons with longer ranges that means the shorter ranged squad members will just stand about doing nothing while the long range weapons blast away.
Aside from a lot of small scale issues though Dawn of War Dark Crusade holds up in most regards. The graphics are remarkably detailed for the time, and especially given that they were designed for an RTS game. The gameplay is satisfying and rewarding. On singleplayer it remains fun despite the flaws in the AI.
It's been great for a long time, and still is.
Love the lore but unit path-finding is borderline unplayable which makes game-play just frustrating.
I would recommend playing on easy just for the story-line.
