Our Story
We are a tiny, dedicated indie team, motivated by the lack of sim football options and determined to deliver a customizable football sim with a deep franchise mode and dynamic gameplay. Our budget for the 2017 game was about $10,000, and the majority of that came from sales from Axis Football 2016. Our small team works on this game during nights (and often early mornings) and weekends, relying on our day jobs to sustain our families and our passion for sim football gaming and the support of the community to continue to improve the Axis Football franchise. The Future of Axis Football
Axis Football has come a long way in three years, but it's certainly not where we want it to be in terms of graphics and depth of features. We made huge strides from last year and have even bigger plans for what we can accomplish next year. Your purchase and support of this game helps to make those plans a reality. We heavily reinvest back into the game, and we hope that is evident with the progress we've made. We plan to release annual versions of the game with improvements to graphics, animations, features, and more! Let us know what you'd like to see in the game, and share Axis Football with your friends! Find us on Twitter @AxisFootball or Facebook at .Поддерживаемые языки: english

it's an okay game x3
franchise mode I cannot chose offensive plays fix??
only paid $5 for it so not really to bummed ( i dont usually get refunds for games ( i keep them just cuz they might get better in the future )
but i bought the game and instantly regretted it.
my controller would not respond to the game WHAT-SO-EVER. i had to use my Mouse & keyboard to navigate the menu ( not that big of a deal ).
but when i went to actually try and play the game it wouldnt let me navigate none of the options on team selecting etc... wouldnt let me launch the game or nothing...
so kinda bummed that i didnt even get to really "experience" the game. so yeah , $5 for a "title" to sit in my games for the infinite for-see-able future haha
This game feels cheap and bland so I do not like it for that. However being cheap and having low quality textures it is very easy to run. When I am camping it it is late at night i will open this on my laptop and play it with my friends. only because of how easy it is to run I like it and have enjoyed my time in the game. If you are in the market for a football game I would save up your money and buy one of their newer games or buy madden. if you have a low end system and just want a game to play with your friends when they come over this is a great option.
I love the team building and play calling part of football and Axis does a good job of these.
I also enjoy the powerful tackles and running back evasive moves.
IF you enjoyed playing football on the older consoles... then this will bring back many memories and having been created by part time "garage" developers... its a great way to spend some off season time doing something football... since this is a past title its most likely newer versions have better everything... and thats how its supposed to go... each version improves from the last. i have had a blast with the pro nfl team mod that brings the nfl into my livingroom with out the throwing more coins into ea's fountain. no problem with madden i have a half dozen versions sitting on my console shelf. but supporting indie developers who are putting out a pc first football game... thats something i can support. decent game, brings back many memories, isnt going to compete with the giant corporate products it has its own place on the pc sports all time list.
at time of review I have 68 hours . First I get a real kick out of the bad reviews that have less then 5 hours. makes me think they are mommy's kids living in there basements bitching about paying 20 bucks for food a week. much less getting a job .
They cry about a game that is made by a group full time workers doing it after a job to support a family . at 15 bucks ,,,,,off sale it is worth it yes not a Madden game but then I am not paying 80.00 bucks to support a bunch of people that kneel for the National anthem. the 2 top QB's make a combined 68 million . in NFL why give them more money from a game
This game is not perfect has some faults but is playable , can enjoy it . do not need a xbox or top end computer mine is pretty good
I bought it since my nephew has madden wanted to practice a little before I go visit again and play him. great for that streams plays well play calling is pretty good I have not read the manual yet to find out all the fine points .
Yes uniforms are not NFL but then again from a past season ticket holder of jets when Shea stadium was still around . I don't really care the NFL is not what it once was 1500.00 for 4 tickets to Houston game in mid deck I don't think so for what I love the real game but not what the left liberals have made it into
Buy this game if only to help support those who love the game of Football but not all the Bs they have allowed to follow with it
Oh and if going write a bad review at least play the game first
No, it's not Madden. Now that that is out of the way...
It's a small developer making football for PC users, so I support them and will continue to.
If you want a replacement for Madden. This isn't it. Not yet anyways. But what it is, is a moddable football game full of funny tackling animations (not intentionally) and frustrating gameplay if you are expecting great realism.
I enjoy the game for the most part and hope they continue to improve year after year. I like that it isn't NFL football, truthfully. That's it a ficticious league setup the way I think the NFL should be... without divisions. Simply a list of teams in order of best records to worst records. Only the best teams make the playoffs. It makes sense.
The games won't be very realistic but still fun for what it is. The play clock stops after 7 seconds for some reason. There's not many plays to choose from. Some players seem impossible to tackle at times. And plenty more faults.
Overall, I will buy the next one because I know they are making it better and I want to help these guys make a great game in the future. It's not like it costs $60, after all. Who knows, maybe a couple years from now this game will be fantastic? But it won't have a chance if people don't support it.
Or just keep getting ripped off by EA Sports and buy the dumpster fire, roster update, rehash of features that were removed and then put back in as 'new' features called Madden and forget they (along with the NFL) screwed all of us fans over, many years ago by taking away all the other games we used to be able to buy.
Choice is yours.
Was able to put up 22 sacks and a 50-0 score in a 5 minute quarter game against a 'Hall of fame' difficulty CPU.
CPU Cs just wander into no man's land after the snap. If you player control a blitzing MLB you can just run around him and sacks come thick and fast to shut down their offense.
When with the ball, scoring is not much harder, running it becomes a simple case of getting it into the secondary. DL and LBs are quick but DBs stand there gaumless for a few seconds as you get the 1st down and more a lot of the time.
Shame really, I like the game otherwise and was looking for a decent alternate Madden. Hopefully this series can be one in the future.
Ok, I'm a few hours into this, and I have to say that I am really enjoying myself. The fictional teams are pretty compelling, and if you can ignore some of the weirdness, this sim is incredibly fun. I primarily play in coach mode.
A couple of small issues: sometimes the guy running the ball will fail to realize that there are open paths to take that don't have defensive linemen in them, but that happens in real life, too...
The graphics aren't terrible, but they also aren't amazing. They don't really take anything away from game play.
You'd think in a game that has fictional team, you'd be able to make your own team. You'd be wrong.
But outside of those three things, I recommend this game.
Ok the short answer is that it is an American Football game on the PC and if you like American Football you should enjoy this. Axis Football 2017 has it's flaws such as no penilties and the announcer keeps saying the same things as far as I can tell and it gets annoying but it is better than no announcer. Learn a few pass and run plays for offense and you are good and learn a few choice defense plays. There are a wide variety of defense and offense plays but I only use a few and win with hardly any problem on Pro Level and All-Star Level just makes the Computer Player a bit better and they will score a lot though you should also no matter the difficulty setting. I haven't played an American Football game in about 16 years so I can't really compare it to other games of this type but it is fun for what it is. Coach Mode is nice and Acton Mode is good.
A fun football game that is enjoyable
this is not polished like a diamond with exact physics nor is it junk
for most people who enjoy playing football to play
game play is close to what you would get on madden on the original playstation
controls are super easy to learn plus i love the passing with the mouse aim it makes it more involved than pressing a button so it keeps you engaged
pros are
lots of mods to add offical nfl or college teams
basic keyboard and mouse so its easy to learn
runs smooth even at max gfx
physics are not polished for collisions so you will see alot of dropping like limp fish and even had one lineback bounce into the stands but it just adds to the fun playabilty of this enjoyable game
cons
the diehard madden players might not enjoy this
id buy this game again it focuses on the playability and fun without needing a 450 page manual on how to juke left
The game is in it's infancy stage - so early that you could honestly call it the embryonic stage - and it shows in the gameplay. HOWEVER, despite it's relatively low budget, I am surprised with the game's features and content. It's not Madden (it doesn't have millions of dollars behind it, so of course it won't be) but I think with continued support, 5-10 years down the line, this game could be the PC football game we've all been waiting for. It's not worth $20 atm (more like $12 tbh), but if that's what it takes to support the game's future, I'm willing to dish that out (though I bought it for sale at $15.99, hehe). I definitely recommend it, especially if it's on sale. The PC platform DESPERATELY needs a football game, and we may have it here.
A+ for effort. Sports video games are the only thing I truly miss about console gaming. While I can spend a fair amount of time with FIFA and NBA 2k, they aren't what I want to be honest. I want the NHL, I want the NFL, MLB, and NCAA football and basketball. Axis 2017 brings us one step closer to having a great PC american football game.
Do not buy Axis Football if you want a perfect, Madden EA quality game. The playbooks are basic and quite limited, the passing game is a bit wonky, franchise mode is nothing compared to an EA or 2k game, I really could go on for a while here.
That being said, I definitely recommend Axis Football 2017, and am quite happy with my purchase. (on sale for 17.99$. ) While far from perfect, Axis has released a fun football game for PC gamers. This years game is a marked improvement over last years offering. The developers really seem like they want to make the best football game possible, and I'm excited about what the next version will look like. And if you don't like the non NFL teams in the base game, there are mods that give you lots of options.
TL;DR?
It's far from perfect, but it beats a modded Madden 08. Mods in development, game constantly improving. If you want a american foodball game on the PC, I suggest supporting these developers and their effort.
Well, what do I say about this game? It's a shame that some people negatively view this game and compare it to Madden. First of all, you can't expect actual NFL teams due to licensing issues. Second, of course this game is not going to be as beautiful as Madden or deep with depth. It's a small team with a noticeably smaller budget than EA (By a few million...). With that being said there are things that I do enjoy about this game. 1. The physics in the game are interesting to say the least. I enjoy the tackling and the different ways thay players are tackeld or fall over. (P.S. Scrambling as a quarterback and launching yourself into a defender is hilarious). 2. The passing game (With the aiming rather than just pressing on an icon) is great. I love being able to decide where the football will go rather than just tapping a button. 3. The defender chasing is better than Madden (Yes, I said it). The defenders will actually run towards the area where the ball holder is running rather than making boneheaded mistakes such as running straight into an offensive lineman who can throw them to the ground or running in fifty different directions before finally running after the ball carrier. Those are three of the biggest positives that I take from this game. Now, there is obvious work to be done, but the dev team is responsive and looking to build up from this game. I knew what to expect (Unlike some negatative reviewers) and I took a chance on this game because I miss playing simulation football. I hope that Axis Football only continues to trend upward from here and I am already looking forward to Axis Football 2018 without having even finished my first season in this game. Understand what you're paying for and why you're paying for it before you go and write a review about how you expected this game to be like Madden. (Seriously, can people not read reviews or do some research on a game before buying it?)
Look if your hoping for a "AAA" Title with all the graphical glory a modern PC can deliver, then this is not for you. However if you like football and want a playable Football game on PC, then you should give this a try. It has its quirks but it also has upside and potential. With NCAA and NFL mods available from the community modders, it just makes the game all that much better.
Smaller Devs just don't have the resources to push out a Madden equivilant, and you shouldn't expect that. Take it for what it is, play it and enjoy it. I will give the AXIS team credit they seem to be responsive to the communtiy and actually make attempts to improve the game. So Kudos to them.
I wanted to like this game, I really did. But it makes it so hard to recommend it.
The gameplay is bad, not terrible, but bad. The Physics laughable and AI a joke.
And no, I'm not comparing it to Madden, I'm comparing it to Front Page Sports Pro Football 98.
So no I'm not recomending it to anyone, there are better, and free, games out there even if they are 20 years old.
10/3/2017 UPDATE: Just get Mutant Football League. Stay away from this. You're welcome.

This is a tough one for me, because I legitimately want to recommend this game. Every time I start it up I get a little excited, the game just looks so promising. You know it's not going to be Madden but it looks like one of those neat little PC gems with so much potential. However, pretty quickly things go off the rails.
The customization options are nice, every player's skills can be modified from 1 – 99, but unless you want to make a team of absolute beasts with 99 skills all over the place what's the point? Kicking 80 yard field goals is fun at first but it obviously gets old quickly. You can also customize your team's jerseys, again pretty cool on its face, but this isn't enough to get me into the game.
The actual football of this game is borderline atrocious. Players fly into the air after being tackled or, alternatively, magically dodge every tackle even when players slam directly into them. Passing with the mouse, for me at least, is rough; lotta interceptions and incompletes. There's no penalties, no trading in franchise mode, no free agents, no injuries, and I didn't play it long enough to find out but it doesn't look like there's any kind of draft; so essentially you just play the same season over and over again, there's no progression. Also, if you ask your coach to just suggest a play on offense it doesn't even tell you if it's a pass or run play. The whole presentation of the actual game is fairly lacking as well, just bland.
Overall, if this is your only choice for football I guess ... I mean... maybe? It depends on how desperate you are, and that's the key word here: desperate. If you have Madden, stick with Madden. I know it's unfair to compare this game to Madden but what else is there to compare it to? Maybe get Blood Bowl instead, that game is fun as hell. This would've been a really fun game in the PS2 era, but even with the lowered expectations that go along with indie PC titles this just isn't worth it. Maybe next year.
First I'm thankful for a football game on Pc and it's modestly fun. But the truth is that the Dreamcast, GC, Ps2, and Original XBOX will all provide you with better football gaming experience. I was wondering if this game was as good as NFL2K or maybe even NFL2K2, but honestly it's not. Sorry for this review but I have to be honest ☹.
I just bought this game lasat night. Now, I have read some real unfair reviews of your product. For some reason they expect Madden on the PC. EA may have the budget, but Axis has the heart! This game rocks! Just finished a game wherein the PC and myself had a scoring frenzie, and it was a BLAST!!!
If you are purchasing this game expecting a polished product with millions of dollars poured into it's development, then go get a console and get Madden. However, if you like football on the PC, and love the creative hearts of small software companys on a limited budget; still publishing quality games, look no further than Axis 2017. I have 2015, 2016, and now 2017; I love them all!!! Each season keeps getting just a little better. Keep up the good work!!! You guys rock!
I have only played two quick matches and just started a Franchise on this game thus far so it's hard to give a full review but I am excited to get another positive review posted for this game.
The Sad Truth:
~This isn't Madden. You are not going to see a sweat covered Gronk making a nice cinamatic one handed grab for a TD, followed by a signature spike.
~The graphics are decent at best and gameplay physics can be annoying and silly.
The Exciting Facts:
~This is a Football game on Steam people. I'm not a big console guy and don't want to buy a new console just for Madden games. If you feel the same way, this game will be a great pick up for you.
~NFL Mods and NCAA Mods are available for download and can be easily installed. You can play games with your NFL or college team of choice.
~This has everything a football game NEEDS. You pick your play, read the opposing side and control your player to make the best plays possible for team. All basic player movements are available. Sprint, spin, dive, jump and juke are all weapons at your disposal.
~You get to manage your favorite NFL or College team in a really cool Franchise mode.
Overall:
Isn't going to be beating Madden anytime soon, but if you are a PC gamer who loves Football and wants to be able to play a game as their favorite team every once in a while or maybe play a mock Super Bowl game or something silly this is a must purchase for you. Plus by taking the $20 chance on this game you are opening the door for Axis to be able to stand up against EA in upcoming years. With Football season around the corner and fantasy draft dates getting set I couldn't resist and expect myself to be playing a lot of this game in coming months.
This game has come so far so fast. Is it the madden killer yet? Of course not. But it does have the best customization options in a sports video game ive ever seen. I was able to create a team with full custom uniforms and logos in just an hour after learning the basics. Roster customization is also very easy. This series can very easily be the future madden killer with the right funding. The developers are constantly updating based off player feedback and the series looks promising as a whole. Don't expect a madden level depth of content but rather a fun and infinitly customizable football experience. And for $20 this game is a massive steal.
Even though I'm a football fan, I bought this game to support an indie developer. Yes this game lacks the fit and finish of its big budget counterpart, but the gameplay feels good, and will be great with more improvement. Buy this game and support a well made, moddable representation of American Football on PC.
