This game is great and scratches the itch for Pinball. The tables are designed very well and are really fun and unique to play. The scenery that surrounds the table as your play is very nice and is unique to the table as well. I only have two gripes about this game. The first is the amount of tables you can have out at once. You start the game off in a big living room in a HUGE mansion, but for some reason you can only have three tables out at a time. Even if you own the DLCs you can only have 3 tables out, so all of the wasted dead space is just there begging to be filled.
The second gripe is the price and the base game. At $17 CAD for the base game, it's just not worth it. You only get 3 tables and they're all pretty generic, nothing memorable about them, except for the scenery of the deep sea table, that rocks. I would highly suggest wait for a sale to buy this game. You might want to think about getting a DLC with it too because the 3 tables it comes with will get pretty stale after a while.
Overall it's a fun game and totally worth it if you can wait for a sale.
Great mechanics, runs smoothly interesting graphics. Biggest complaint is only 3 tables and DLCs are EXPENSIVE! I'd love to add more tables at about $3/per, but going to have to wait for a sale
game always crashes selecting tables u can pick and play any tablet go back to menu to pick a new table then boom some run time error
I'm a die-hard fan of visual pinball, so when I bought a VR setup this was one of my first purchases. After reading the negative reviews from folks who had problems with the game and various headsets, I was a little worried about this one, but I figured I could always refund if it didn't work. I'm happy to say that it works a treat with Meta (Oculus) Quest 3 and it's a lot of fun!
Playing with Quest Link, the game has beautiful graphics and runs very smoothly, with just a few very infrequent stutters. It's the next best thing to being at a real table! I use a wired link and SteamVR for games that don't need a lot of movement, but I imagine the experience would be just as good with AirLink or Virtual Desktop and a decent Wifi router.
Just a few drawbacks:
1) The selection of tables, even including DLC, is very limited (about a dozen tables if you buy the DLC packs) and Zen has long-since abandoned VR. The core game includes one my favorite Zen tables (Mars), though, so I'm happy.
2) The game's lobby feels really lonely. It's just a giant empty room with 3 pinball tables. You can customize which three tables are in the room at any given time, but it still feels like so much wasted space. I'm sure they originally planned to fill the room with more tables, but never got around to it before abandoning the project.
3) The most annoying drawback is that the tables are too short. The camera hovers above the table at about normal eye height, but the tables only seem to be about 60 cm (2 feet) tall, versus the normal height of about 90 cm. There are limited settings options, but I couldn't find a way to adjust that. It's annoying, but not really a dealbreaker for me. EDIT: It's a little fidgety, but you can reposition the "camera" by pressing X. With a bit of fine tuning, I was able to get a height and orientation that was the perfect height and perfectly lined up with my AT Games pinball controller.
It works fine using the controller triggers as flipper buttons, but for further immersion, I'm going to try using it with my AT Legends pinball setup next. If that works, it'll be visual pinball nirvana. If not, it's still a fun game. So, Yay! for this "proof of concept" but Boo! for Zen abandoning the project. (EDIT: Getting the AT Games controller working with this game was as simple as turning it on and recentering the game's view over it.)
