Awful platform part, wtf why player can't jump under them? Controls are weird, you have to use both mouse and keyboard which is really annoying. I love the story part but controls/game design ruined it. There's one game called Inside that's 100 times better than this one.
This game is pretty short but also.. pretty real.
It's a work aof art.. in a way of that it is showing some real emotions..
people still are having till this day.
+ The game art and story is strong and emotional
but
- the gameplay mechanics and controls are bad.
- glitched item give/take in the capital city level
The game looks unfinished and becomes boring rather quickly. The story is hardly believable and has no structure: the author just throws at the player one cruelty after another. I did like the art and the drawing style of the first part of the game though.
Gameplay - Unclear level design that I cannot understand the design purpose, movement is strange. The logic of this game is too much unclear. The gameplay experience is not narrative. Each level parts doesn't have connected relationships. They're just parted away and not building up a proper theme. Unpolished.
Art - Looks the artist tried hard but didn't get the concept... North Korea inspired art and SF inspired art is not getting mixed. They are totally just apart from each other.
Music - Unpolished.
Dunno what developer wants to say with this game... The developer is totally just showing off cruel events in such flat way. I don't think the storytelling of this game is polished...
It says 10 years passed in the ending and the main character BOY got very old as 40-50... I don't get this... Doesn't he has to be 20-30?
Starts with a strong, emotional premise, but throws you in an incredible annoying gameplay with clumsy controls which make you wonder whether the dev has ever played a game from the last two decades. There's no save option either, so you're supposed to fight your way through the horrid platforming levels in one run.
Sry, a promising story and a nice art style could not compensate this for me.
I knew Zephyo because I follow her and her art. Unfortunatelly I didn't had enough time to buy the game and play it, even thought I supported it on Greenlight. It's such a pretty game, art style actually leaves you breathless. Game was really short, I expected at least another ending, like rejecting going to other side. But still, it was a incredible experiance. it's amazing how descriptive that game was.
I do hope someone can see my review and support this game. It had a big impact on my perspective, considering the situation going on at my country.
The artwork in this game is beautiful and unique. It's style is different from any other game I've played. It takes you to another world like most games, then brings you back with the difficult realization that the tramatic events in the game are everyday realities for so many people in countries like North Korea. Be prepared for painful visuals, but don't look away; take it to heart.
This is a short game but priced accordingly. Some of the keyboard controls were difficult for me, perhaps it's my keyboard. But I used a game pad and that was resolved.
I ran into 2 or 3 apparent glithes (item exchanges didn't take place properly) when I spent too long in a level. I once had to reset a level to be able to complete it.
Even so, I enjoyed the game for its visuals and story. I would buy a sequel if the developer were to make another.
Wonderful game so far, art style is incredible. Be warned, will hit you right in the feels multiple times.
