Blade Sentinel drops my FPS to 9. I can run Sons Of The Forest better than that. Good game tho
look i haven'y played nearly enough for anyone to read this as a "valid" review but just look into it more. this game seems to give people mixed sights about what this game is and to tell you the truth i don't completely understand it myself but i can tell you i played it after launch and played it again just not too long ago and fuck me has this dev done some amazing work and improvements. no i didn't play through the whole "development" stage and so i don't know the ins and outs of the pros and cons but what i can say is that the dev does not need nor deserve the shit people are giving them. now i'm not going to sit her and try to know why they do what they do but i do know that if it's working for the dev then everyone else can fuck off. Yes the players are the customers but if you don't like it now, instead of giving the dev shit for something you don't find to your liking. other give him some insight (KINDLY) about the "issues" or don't touch it and let the man cook. this game now is at a good standpoint and as i said previously....major improvements and progression.
I will keep it at this though, STOP giving devs hate especially ones that aren't AAA. we had the AAA era of gaming and that was peak but now we are in the era of small group if not individual game developers that're trying to bring their ideas into the gaming world and for someone doing this. they've done fucking amazing.
cool but combat is kind of boring after a while, ill change review when dev changes it up, but movement is cool. I feel like holstered weapons should get automatically reloaded after a while, its annoying after a fight to like reload for a year
This game just feels great - its movement feels crisp when you get the hang of it and the weapons have that cool sci-fi look to them with some getting even better when you pack a punch [ish] them resulting in the colour shifting and in some cases the entire weapon e.g the double barrel getting another 2 barrels and getting a grappling hook (a neat doom eternal reference). The progression is enjoyable enough once you get into it but my main issue of the game is actually learning some of the systems ( but its still in beta so you never know).
Its a graphically great game which is just generally a fun play even if you dont play it for too long - its worth a go :)
There is a guy who keeps haunting the store page and forums all over a personal grudge against the developer. Beware the reviews from private profiles with 0.2 hours playtime and a link to a screenshot lmao
Other than that, the game is great. Early access this and that but I have the patience to wait for the singular developer to finish his project. Level design is on the boring side but this has already been addressed in the latest update news. Movement is fast and smooth, the animations for the guns all look amazing. Super loving the music too, really hoping that we get more of that with the 1.0 update. Rogue-like features are all there, with permanent upgrades to basically every stat, together with game modifiers of course.
If you like fast-paced shooters, and especially rogue-likes, I highly recommend trying the demo. You can tell early on if this game ticks your boxes or not.
And to Andrew, keep your chin up my guy. A majority of this community is supporting your work, and we are looking forward to the 1.0 release.
Stay safe traveller.
Amazing game, having played it on and off for about 3 years now i'm blown away with how much it has changed and improved. very satisfying to play 10/10
Terrible hit detection, lousy movement and suck roguelite elements, unfair combat, and those damn glitches!
But the real problem is how the developer and his community treat the actual customers!

Just Wow. Amazing game.
You'd rather buy another worthy game.
First off, not a boomer shooter. I don't know where you got that but nonetheless, not a boomer shooter.
This game fills a Titanfall 3 shaped hole in my soul and it does it damn well, the movement is smooth and fast. that is probably the main appeal. Although levels and enemies feel quite lacking, that stuff is actually being addressed. If you enjoyed Titanfall then you'll love this (probably) if you like boomer shooters you won't, because it isn't one.
I RARELY leave reviews, ever... It deserves more positive vibes out for this game after hearing recent news tho. The games good! A very fun time! The music goes hard! Gunplay is satisfying! High Replayability! Clearly a passion project for a single dev or small team taking inspiration from some of their favorite games. <3
Generally not a fan of the feel or flow. This game has been in EA too long, and it's obvious. Feels like something I would have played 10+ years ago, but at this point is moot. If it would have stuck to it's original scope and feel, and just saw it through, it'd be fine. But at this point the game has no clue what it wants to be and is a mishmash of ideas.
And after poking around, it seems like this is a solo-dev project, which explains it. Plenty of "Developer Comments" arguing with reviews about design choices, asking for "correct" reviews on the Discord, etc. Not a great look.
Very fun movement shooter with a lot going for it! I have been keeping up with the development of this game and have seen it evolve over the years, and its come so far since the EA launch. The movement is a TON of fun, flying around the map at mach 10 while gunning down what are essentially the Covenant from Halo but neon. My biggest gripe with the game is that the level design is quite sparse with not much happening, but that is getting a major overhaul in the 1.0 release, which I am incredibly hyped for! The movement in particular is seriously some of the most fun out of all the movement shooters I've played.
Hi everyone, this is not a boomer shooter! Stop buying the game thinking it is and then leaving a negative review!
The dev describes the game as Risk of Halofall, and thy're right. The movement is fun, the gunplay is fun, and the issues I do have with the game are currently being addressed in community posts about where the game is being taken. This is a fun game that isn't quite finished yet, but will be very good once 1.0 comes out.
fun game, kinda reminds me of titanfall 2 with its movement
you can also do flips, fun fact :D
The sheer amount of passion that is put into this game is astounding. from the absolutely gorgeous animations, to the amount of persistent communication from the dev, so much elbow grease has gone into this game, and it oozes fun and passion. I cannot recommend enough.
A must buy for movement shooter enjoyers. And with so many changes coming it's going to be amazing
This is NOT A BOOMER SHOOTER. Just gonna get this clear, its NOT a boomer shooter. Honestly this NON-BOOMER SHOOTER is pretty fun with the titanfall-like movement and rougelike elements, which means its NOT A BOOMER SHOOTER. This is one of the most fun NON-BOOMER SHOOTERS I've played in a while and i fully recommend this NON-BOOMER SHOOTER.
Did i mention this is NOT a boomer shooter?
Years ago, I liked this game. Lately, I've loved it. I dreamed of playing it on my Ally. With the final update, 1.0, it'll be a lot more replayable. The dev is a cool guy too.
As for the Ally, the dev is going as far as overhauling the UI partially to bake in controller support, which earns my wholehearted appreciation and respect.
The game is totally broken and uncompleted. It has bad hit detection, movement, boss design, bad roguelike elements, and an overall lack of content. It is very boring and constantly crashes, and so on! This game is literally unplayable, I absolutely do not recommend it. Buy it when it's 90% off.
P.S. It seems like this game recently got a decent amount of negative reviews, resulting in a "Mixed" status, and then the developer asked his discord members to post a good review. It's a scam! 200% not recommended. Stay away from this. What a shame.

Game needs more enemy variety and cross-hair options. It does so much right but if you're fighting the same old hordes over and over again it all feels kind of pointless
Very fun and well designed roguelike, movement shooter.
Love the game I just wish I was better at it XD
Pretty scenery and addictive gameplay
nice fun game
i tried so hard to make this game click with me but it just couldnt if youre a fan of fast paced movement shooters grab echopoint nova or titanfall instead if you want a good fps roguelite get roboquest just not this
this game is a masterpiece
movement of Titanfall
shooting of DOOM Eternal
pacing of ULTRAKILL
all of these things in one game
absolutely recommend this game(especially to lovers of fps games)!!!
Broken gameplay... boring... uncompleted systems, and ignorant dev... Pretty disappointing.

Fun game, fast pace. can be a bit difficult at times, but is definitely one of the best games i have played in a long time.
This game feels like playing a mix of Halo, Titanfall, Doom, RoR, but with a unique twist on an uncommon genre. Brings back some good memories.
10/10 music, Cozy mode on/off.
Love this game even if it's incomplete, can't wait to see more.
ONE OF THE BEST ROGUELIKES IVE EVER PLAYED, TITANFALL 3
Great movement, and the game just keeps getting better!
I am a big fan of boomer shooters. But this game is more focused on "movement," not "shooting." I played the demo first, and it was too stiff, but the combat was fine. So I purchased the game and was quite surprised by how different the actual game is(in a good way).
But that's it. The actual game is still extremely short, buggy, and lacks content and even information. The goal is to get to the orange door, but there are so many things in that journey. The game doesn't explain anything and forces people to find and read 100 million text lines of guidelines. This is just fundamentally pure laziness, nothing more.
And let's see it as the roguelike-like game."RISE. FALL. REPEAT.". This is a commonly used catchphrase in many roguelike-like games. But every roguelike-like system in this game is mostly super unbalanced and broken, and I have no idea why it exists. Go try other good roguelike-like games. This game is more like a "roguelike-like looking first person pakour racer."
I bought 40% DC but confidently say that it's still not worth it. The game is too expensive, broken, and unbalanced.
me say word, me go fast
The game keeps crashing and keeps losing everything even before it gets a chance to do something. Guns are wacky, the movement gets stuck everywhere, and enemy attacks are ridiculous. Keep the wall running, and enemies can't even touch you, so you can easily beat the game. Dull, short, wacky, broken. It's totally not worth playing. It's really a shame. Steam must have proper quality assurance and allow the refund of these wacky & uncompleted college student project-level games.
Bought it on "release", played for twenty minutes, thoroughly enjoyed the movement but it really didn't have much to it.
Returned to it today, and it's a blast! If you enjoy Titanfall 2 you'll almost certainly love this game - the movement is strikingly similar. This game completely forgoes ADS even. Dual wielding is fantastic, the guns feel great, the movement is wonderful, and I like that it's horde shooter roguelike. Music is great, graphics are beautiful in an artistic way.
I think the one way the game falls short is UI and direction. I spent a solid fifteen minutes having no idea where to go or what to do... you figure it out, but it could definitely be smoother.
8/10 would recommend. Especially if you liked Titanfall FD.
Instructions unclear. I could only find a blue door, can anyone tell me how to get the orange one? (Colorblind btw)
game fun. let my single brain cell have fun
Patiently waiting for it to get it's final update. Lots of fun.
Well... it's not bad, but you get bored very quickly... And need a lot of fixes. It's definitely not worth buying it.
the game is fun but the difficulty curve to far to great., please go spend your money on other fps rogue-lite/likes now and wait until the game is more balanced and finished
A 5 years Early Access was a little too long, people got disinterested from the game.
That's why you don't put a game for 5 years in early access :/
awesoum
you're too slow!
I didn't believe it at first but the door was in fact, orange.
TBH, in the first look, it's okay. But once you started, you'll see the numerous amount of bugs and problems.
First, this game was released in May 2019 as an early access state. Now, it's November 2024; it's been almost six years in development. But still, it's not even close to "complete". This implies that this developer is really lazy, without any excuse. There have been several big updates since the first update, but this cannot be an excuse for this long period of development, even though only one developer made this game himself. These days, so many games are release with broken, uncompleted, unplayable status, excusing their laziness just because it's still early access stage. People are not that stupid.
Second, it's a $20 cost game. Desprite of how short and shallow game play, this game ain't cheap at all. There are so many good, better games on Steam for less than even $10. I really don't recommend buying this game at full price, even this is officially released. I guarantee there's nothing much different from the current state. But if you really wanna taste it, play the demo first. However, this game is unfinished, and there are not many levels. This game is incredibly short. Taking this quality of the game with $20 is almost like a scam, tbh.
Third, this is not a rogue-lite. All the feature so called "rogue-lite" in this game are completely dull and uncompleted, unbalanced. It's an insult of all other roguelike and roguelite games compare than this one. It's not even close to rogue-lite-lite.
Fourth, this game is so, so unkind. The goal of this game is to reach the orange door, just exactly like the title said, but the actual game is not that simple. There are some features you can find during the game but every single of them have absolute zero explanation. This is a beyond of lack of tutorial and explanation, it's a just total VOID. And the character control is very stiff, irresponsible, slow. The developer should shame himself FR.
Fifth, the gameplay is uncompleted, broken, unfair, and tedious. All enemies look similar, but some try to melee you, some shoot fireballs, and that's it. The enemy spawn system is completely broken, too. Even if you defeated a level, the enemies keep spawning. Even the boss fight is too easy and boring; only two of them exist. And needless to say, all the boss fight has a bunch of glitches too.
Sixth, so many glitches annoy you and often make you stuck, but the developer doesn't even try to fix it.
Seventh, every time new major update came out, lots of people rage-quitting. Every update ruins the entire game experience with various reasons, but the developer absolutely no cares about it.
Eighth, bad optimization. Optimization issues are common in indie games, this is $20 game. It's really serious.
Ninth, crashes. A lot of crashes. I never saw a game that crashes this quite often.
Finally, the developer only listens to what he wants. I saw so many people complain about this game. Some of them are very similar reasons, but some of them are quite unique reasons. The problem is his attitude. The people who left reviews on this game are the people who spent the money they earned through hard work. It's not an F2P game; it's a full $20-price game with an incredibly short amount of content. The developer doesn't care about the players who leave a review on Steam, don't even try to read any messages and posts in his Steam discussion channel. He only listens to the voices from his Discord channel who only saying his game is good. So, if your country blocked Discord, there's basically no way you can communicate with him. So here is my advice. If you gonna try to contact the developer in Steam, this developer will just ignore it, whatever he costs. I even saw this developer teasing his customers with his discord members with bad jokes. Careful, you might be the next guy.
Still, do you want to play this broken, unkind, unfair, dull, boring game just because it looks cool? Alright, there is a free demo; go for it. Now close the demo and uninstall it. There you go. You defeated GTTOD and are safe to find another journey to play a new game. The contents in this game are too short, there's nothing much you can do even if you bought a fullgame.
In conclusion, the developer is really lazy, unkind, and full of bad jokes. The game is totally broken, dull, extremely short, and not even close to calling a game. Please don't waste your precious money. Keep it and find a better game. There are so many good roguelite first-person shooters. Even free games are better than this one.
It's just a common early access, solo dev excuse scam. Save your money. It's just a college student project level.
*** Well I actually copied how developer teasing a customer. This is what actually this he said ***
My brother in Christ, I bless you in the name of the holy spirit, the one true God and my eternal savior who thou art in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come - please God have mercy on this kind and kindred soul for they do not know THE GLORY OF THE LORD CAN I GET AN AMEN'AH HOLY LORD ABOVE THANK YOU JESUS, THE SACRIFICE OF YOUR BLOOD IS WHAT MAKES ME WORTHY, AND I PRAISE THAT NAME, FOR IT GIVES ME STRENGTH HALLELUJAH
...
If that's all correct we can continue with your exorcism.
Someone may think this is funny, but brother, you are a game developer. I don't know what happened there, but at least it doesn't look good to show this attitude to your customers. They are your customers who are very willing to spend $20 on your unfinished early-access game.
The even more funny thing is that the entire Discord community participates in hunting down this guy and enjoys teasing him. So make a wise choice.
peak ngl
A true testament to effort over the years, one hell of a development journey and an amazing game
absolute beast of a game
(at the time of this review, the game is currently in the past and present early access version. will update when the full game releases)
This game is INCREDIBLY fun. solid game play loop, fun movement, beautiful areas, and some really sick animations (especially for the guns). however, there are still some pretty big flaws that need to be addressed for this game to really stand out.
1. There is little to no build variety to runs. blessings matter very little when 1 babe'd gun can carry you to threat 50+ easily. and the blessings don't feel super unique. more health, more resources, explosion on kill if the enemy is burning. there are very few synergies between them that make them feel boring.
a random idea i had was keeping the blessings at the end of the level (Similar to Gunfire Reborn's end of stage chalice) and giving the bunkers something like relics or artifacts (EX: something like slay the spire's relics or Enter the Gungon's passives where they give a buff that is active at all times) giving each their own sort of purpose. something like a shoulder missile launcher attachment that gives a chance to fire a homing rocket when an enemy is hit with non elemental weapons or sliding leaves behind flammable oil that can be ignited to make a wall of fire (effectively an AOE DoT). they all dont have to be super unique, some can just be damage or reload buffs, but more ways to scale yourself in a run can really add to the replayability.
2. The curses are REALLY COOL. the curses are done incredibly well with some EXTREMELY fun combos with weapons and even between themselves. some standout ones being: 2 skulls that home onto people you shoot, re rolling your guns every threat level (complete chaos LMAO), launching ice spikes that can hurt you by freezing already frozen enemies, enemies who die spawn as a phantom that explode into frost when killed but will revive if not killed quickly.
3. bunkers feel empty and keys drop far too often. the bunkers are probably the most "unfinished" feeling part of the game with one bunker layout just straight up having a message saying "tee hee sorry not done yet" (which is really funny honestly). something i would love to see is more straightforward bunker types, stuff like the arsenal bunker and the cargo tunnel bunker with ways to tell what a bunker is by just looking at it (EX: blessing bunkers have vines overtaking the door, arsenal bunker having a heavily armored door, cargo tunnel bunker looking worn down and abandoned from the outside with rust covering the door and a crooked light above it, alpha cash bunkers having a shiny golden door) so players can make choices that can impact their run.
4. the clothing system in general. incredibly restrictive and most being not very impactful to your build. there are very few options in the pool as well. HOWEVER, i would love to see a system similar to BPM's where you have 4 slots (1 head, 1 glove, 1 chest, 1 boots) allowing for combos, but still being restrictive enough for there to be an important choice with what you take and leave.
5. the hub. its empty and has very little to do other than leave. something to make the harbor feel more lively is maybe something like how Hades handles its hub. i know that this game is gonna be pretty heavy with story in 1.0, though maybe sometimes seven, eight or nine could drop by the harbor from time to time and have a bit of dialog. dialog between six and the mother when you spend jade vines to level up. maybe the mother could give you some encouragement when you start a run (similar to Hades where Hades just insults you) small bits of world building do wonders for keeping people interested in the world. though, i dont really know where the story is going (i read the wiki for a bit) so maybe this wouldn't fit thematically
at the end of the day, i would love to see more replayability and unique synergies with items. most of this has been me just spit balling ideas (take them with a grain of salt(i am NOT a game dev)) that i think would add to runs. nothing is meant to insult, its just some criticism of some of the systems. i am very excited to see where the game is going to go from here, it has a LOT of potential to be amazing.
Epitome of mid, the true platonic ideal of mediocrity. The game doesn't really seem to know what it wants to be or how it wants to go about expressing that. It wants really bad to be some sort of Risk of Rain Titanfall 2 crossbreed, but the science behind the eugenics here just don't add up. The basic gameplay is solid, sure, but the meta game is straight ass. From a currency that's so difficult to reasonably accumulate compared to the cost of everything that it makes me feel like a Venezuelan citizen, to the fact that the primary permanent upgrade material is a RANDOM thing you have to CHOOSE at the end of the level (which you might not even get), it makes it feel lethargically slow in a way that brutally discourages replaying to try and get further and stronger. Doors require keys, but some doors only lead to loot crates that cost eight quadrillion bucks, or rooms full of gear you have to buy with exorbitant extortion of coin, and it's night impossible to go back to one if you even earn the money because who knows which door it was since the developer seems to think maps and anything close to player convenience is a pathetic show of weakness. Loadouts are cards you have to find/buy and then act as single use pre run deployables. Imagine if in Isaac you had to like find Lilith and then you got to use her once before having to find her again, it's absurd how anyone would think that's fun, especially when early versions had an actual class/loadout system that worked and was fun. The permanent upgrades aren't even interesting, it's just more health or more dashes or stat go up. It's a mess, like the sloppiest, most annoying sisyphean roguelite experience. If you want Titanfall gameplay, there are better outlets.
