It doesn't look like I put much hours into this but I have played this game a lot on Xbox 360. And this game while looks simplistic, has quite a fun time packed inside this small game.

Loot or Die is a 2D side scroller/shooter where you kill enemies as you make your way to the end of the level/world. The game has 5 or 6 worlds, a bonus world, and a little base where you can store gear you don't want to get rid of. On paper, it doesn't sound like a lot, but when you play it you will learn that these levels aren't exactly something you can plow through.

As you kill enemies and go through the worlds, you will find chests that will contain gear and items that will help make your character stronger. And these items will help you get through these worlds easier, some items have unique abilities where you can heal a huge chunk of your health with a single button press, one where you can jump really high to get to those out-of-reach areas, and some that even multiply your damage or shield you from attacks.

As you go to each world, you will find items that are specifically found to that world. So if you want a specific ability you will have to find that specific item on that world. Good for those with differing playstyles, but the higher level worlds will have better gear. And if you find that one piece of gear that you don't want to get rid of, your HUB world offers a daily challenge every day. And if you complete it, you get an upgrade token to where you can upgrade that piece of gear you have and make it even better. But you can only upgrade it once...

And on top of that, you have an XP bar. Now, killing enemies fills this bar and in a unique twist, leveling up does not improve your character, but the chance that your items may come with a special perk! Perks like critical hit chance, 'lucky heal' where you have a better chance of finding health or getting more from healing items, there is even a perk for increasing your chances of finding items with perks on them! These perks will help you survive the harder levels and yes, they do get hard. More like where if you die, it's more because it is either your fault or because a stray bullet hit you. And yes, you will get some unfair deaths, but the game never feels unfair, just difficult or stubborn in a nutshell.

This is a really good game if you are looking for a small single-player experience. There IS PvP AND CO-OP, but you will probably have to talk to someone to get the game if you are looking to do that, this isn't exactly 'mainstream gaming' anyways...

But don't take this game lightly, if you don't want to die to a green blob like I did...

It's a fun game on it's own, but is more fun with friends. Great game

Levels drag on a little long, other than that its pretty good. Think Destiny, but in 2D.

This game will change your life.

This game is fun but with some glaring isues like having to restart the entire planet when dying.

I had a good time playing this with a friend despite it not looking very visually appealing.

fun game concept, but is a nightmare to work with when you have multiple monitors. Also no options to change resolution or fix audio settings

A great game if you want 2d awesome action for multiplayer and singleplayer!

11/10 would press escape again in the middle of a level

Pure platformy goodness with alot of loot and bright simple art style.

I'm having alot of fun so far. If the dev had added a map editor I'd pay $10
for this but for $2 you more than get your $'s worth.

10/10 for this type of game.

Make a sequel Dev, add a map editor (maybe an enemy editor or weapon editor)
and take more of my money. ;)

simple grahpics great co-op and smooth frames with little to complain about. seems like a good pick me up if u got friends or are just bored with all the complicted games and want something simple and fun to just play with no worries about skill and just want to shoot some stuff. for just one dollar though i would recomeend it, bc it seems like it is very well priced for the product you will be getting.

Pretty okay game for being under $2. There are some issues like the mouse not being contained within the game and no resolution options but the potential for a great game is there.

Pros:
- Good looting system.
- Rouge-like
- Cheap (At the time of this review)
- Easy to pick up and play

Cons:
- No resolution options
- Mouse not contained within game (Can be remedied with 3rd party programs)
- Game can freeze on black screen when tabbed out
- Defaults to fullscreen.
- "Meh" Graphics

All in all I'd give it a 6/10. For less than $2 I think it will be worth it so long as the devs keep updating the game.

I think there's only 1 problem... The wepons in the begining should be a little bit more different and not the same just the same thing but with different skin. In the late game I've seen that this problem changes but you still need to get there.

Other wise I love the game so far and I've had fun with it.

This game is excellent. It is simple, but holds a level of challenge and loot upgrades that make the game feel worthwhile. The online coop feature is also a nice bonus. The music is another fitting element of the heartwarming game. Overall a very well made game that is just pure fun.

This game is awesome, I highly recommend it!

Start off with basic gear, kill things and farm loot!

Standard equipment slots with 2 accessories. The accessories are really cool, basically special abilities you find on each planet (heal, teleport, jump boost, etc). Magic find goes up the more you kill, and you can find augmented items (lifesteal, health regen, movement speed, etc).

Sound effects are well done, and the music goes along perfectly.

I like the design of the monsters, they are unique to their worlds so it's a really cool dynamic.

Gameplay is what you would expect from a side-scroller shooter, highly addictive! The AI steadily gets more difficult and has lots of variations from each monster.

Boss fights are epic! I had to really plan my build and strategize to beat them. Bring a friend!

The Co-op is really fun too. I love jumping into a game to help clear a level or kill a boss. You can have up to 4 people in a match, the enemy's health goes up for each new member.

I haven't tried PvP yet but there is a nice arena set up for it, lot's of caves and perches.

For the price you really can't beat it, check it out!

Loot Or Die! is AWSOME! kinda simplistic on the graphics side but, if you are a player that can get over it, this game can be really fun! Its controls are easy to learn, difficult to master. so far no controller support. I got this game for under $2, had i realized how much I'd be playing it, I'd have payed double! The dev's have engineered a fairly indepth equipment system (many guns, Armours, helmets, and rings) and made it even better by giving some of them magic enhancements. If the Developers stick with this game and keep Expanding/Upgrading/Improving this game, this could actually end up being one of my favorites on STEAM!

This game is easily worth the $2 bucks they are asking for it. If you catch it on sale you'd be silly to pass it up! For an inexpensive game I'd give it an 8/10.

Great game! The game was originally on xbox 360 and it was ported very well for people coming from there.
-a variety of levels
-PvP and PvE
-Defend the flag mode
-only boss mode
-Many, many guns
-and many, many pieces of armor that can make run as fast as sonic or steal as much life as dracula
-I can run like sonic
-Rings with unique abilities for every play style
And overall just a great community. All of this for just 2 dollars? This is a MUST BUY for any new comers or even veterans coming from the xbox. It was great then, and it's great now :) 9/10 would run like sonic again.
