Описание

HexWar Games has partnered with Games Workshop® to bring you The Horus Heresy: Battle of Tallarn™. Get ready to fight the largest tank battle in Imperial history with more tanks and more destruction than ever!

After the virus bombing by the traitorous Iron Warriors rendered the surface of Tallarn deadly to biological life, the besieged forces call upon legions of tanks - from the Leman Russ to the almighty Baneblade to bring war to their enemy. The battles begin after the devastating blow that turned the planet into an apocalyptic wasteland, amid the grim conditions the survivors faced in the aftermath.

The Horus Heresy: Battle of Tallarn is a turn-based strategy game that recreates one of the most important events in Imperial history. Command a vast array of tanks, Dreadnoughts, Knights and Titans across the toxic landscape. Play as desperate Solar Auxilia units fighting squadrons of Iron Warrior Predators for control of vast underground bunkers.

All campaigns can be played as both Loyalist and Traitor.

6 Mission Apocalypse Campaign
In the wake of the death and destruction wrought upon Tallarn by the virus bombing, the Iron Warriors descended. As their patrols scoured the ruined planet's surface, they encountered unexpected resistance from the Imperial survivors. Protected from Tallarn's toxified atmosphere in their underground shelters, the loyalists launched a spirited campaign of hit-and-run attacks on the Iron Warriors.

6 Mission Resurrection Campaign
As the Imperium learned of the Iron Warriors' treachery and the fate of the survivors of Tallarn, their relief troops and armour arrived in force, only to be matched by those of the enemy. The Iron Warriors ground their way to Sapphire City, beneath which lay a subterranean network of tunnels and shelters which had served as a bulwark in the Imperial defence line.

6 Mission Revenge Campaign
Despite determined efforts, the Imperium were unable to shift the Iron Warriors from The Sightless Warren. Meanwhile fighting on the surface ground to a stalemate as heavy armoured units reinforced both sides. In a bid to sway the battle, The Iron Warriors' Macro-Transport “The Eagle's Talon” was brought into orbit around Tallarn, threateningly positioned to bring a new wave of troops to fight for the traitors.

  • 66 different units accurately recreated
  • 54 different weapons
  • Three campaigns, each of six linked missions

Good hex based wargame based on the biggest tank battle in 40k history. I don't understand the negative reviews to be honest, it's a tabletop wargame except the computer does all the calculations for you, who would give a tabletop wargame a negative review? The ai is very good which makes this a great single player game. Very large selection of units especially walkers and tanks. The game is faithful to 40k lore as well. Okay it's not mind blowing graphics by any means, but does a tabletop wargame look realistic either? If you've any interest in the Horus Heresay then what are you doing ignoring this game?

Very enjoyable turn based 40K title. It's certainly no walk in the park so if you like a challenge it's well worth a look.

Abit more customizability and also multiplaying would not be that bad though.
Other than that for me a very good hexbattle game.

There's something hard to explain about what makes a turn based stratagy game work. It's gotta have something that sparks the imagination and makes it more than just about taking turns. Whatever it is, this game doesn't have it.

I'm a big fan of 40k, so I really wanted this to be fun, but there's just no sense of scale, action, scope, or ... It just seems terribly lifeless. The UI is pretty bad too, so that doesn't help.

You should skip this.

I thought this might be complex like Warhammer Epic 40000 Final Liberation, but it is not.
The toxic fog of war is stupid. The sounds are very bad. Something is wrong with this game. It is so loveless...

And all that is very paradox, for it looks so very very good on the screenshots and I very much liked the detail all the little round based units are made. It looks like the perfect round based WH40K game on the screenshots...

I love round based strategy, but I cannot play this longer.

this game best value for money EVER, they know their cannon, very old style n dose have occasional glitch's
very additive though, seen other people say missions not balaced hmm well war never ballanced n thats the challange to win agaist the odds, takes into acount weaker side armour weapons have differant penertraions well developed, this game beats hands down the over priced and far worse qualiy games like armageddon
its an old style game with classic 90s hex move and fire but better graffix than most and animation, an aboslute must for 40k fans if just for new tallarn cannon, game play BEATS expencive looking games enyday
--upsides - addictive , fun , VERY CHEAP, good for quick time killers , value for money, 30k lore well done, terrain LOS well done
--downsides - can crash (occasionly not very offten normaly higher bigger battles)& freze, theme tune soon gets enyoying
- the larger vehicles n titans have trouble moveing through terrain as they have groups of hex;s to represent
size

Game could be good but sadly its not! this belongs in the 90's. move range is pretty short, visual range could do with improving the fog of war does not clear far enough, hardly tactical just blindly driving around.
I played one game and one game only that was enough.
I choose armageddon thinking im going to get what I wasked for... I got 4 units of tanks moved once then the enemy was there shooting I spent 2 turns not moving and just shooting back and the game was won,
I would normally win graciously calling my mates loosers and insulting their primarchs or gods, but this victory was pretty hallow and gave me no reason to go back and play again.
Before you buy this game stop and think of the spacemarines, run to you local GW buy one, give a spacemarine a home!

Not bad for what is clearly a mobile port. Rebound a few keys and sped up the pace of play. Iron within, iron without.

Things that seriously need to be fixed:

1. Not being allowed to move after attacking.

2. Not being allowed to offload troops from transports after moving the transports.

3. Game's innability to recognize when a unit iss shocked and can't move at the end of a player's turn.

4. Line of Sign being blocked by hills no matter where you are (if a unit is ON TOP of a hill, it sould be able to see down. like in reality.)

5. This whole "moving too fast to attack" nonsense.

Otherwise, love the Heresy turn-based game. Just seems like some of the mechanics make little to no sense.

"From iron cometh strength! From strength cometh will! From will cometh faith! From faith cometh honour! From honour cometh iron!"
— Unbreakable Litany of the Iron Warriors Traitor Legion

INTRODUCTION: In a devastating surprise attack at the time of the Horus Heresy (010-011.M31), the Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines struck the fertile Agri-World of Tallarn. Thousands of virus-bombs rained down on Tallarn and the people ran to their enviro-shelters, deep beneath the surface, only to emerge later to assault the Iron Warriors.

The Iron Warriors sent their task-force to repossess the world for the Chaos Gods. From underground bunkers the Tallarn's defenders emerged to do battle with the invaders. Soon, reinforcements from both sides arrived, rival space fleets bringing vast armies to fight over the worthless remnants of the dead planet. The Battle of Tallarn raged for many months and was the largest armoured conflict of the Horus Heresy.

The Forces of Chaos were driven from the world of Tallarn at great cost at the end of the Horus Heresy, yet for all the millions that had died, there seemed to be little gained from the fight. The planet was destroyed and rendered useless for large-scale habitation, industry or agriculture.

REVIEW: Pretty usual for HexWar Games, this is a top-down TBS with Dreadnoughts, Titans and Shadowswords all faithfully represented on a bleak and blasted surface. The Battle for Tallarn was the biggest armoured battle in the history of the Imperium and if you've read the Black Library Horus Heresy novel "Tallarn", you'll want to get stuck in here.

It's a simple game, hence the price but is loaded with Tutorials that would be the envy of a game three times it's price, Scenarios and Campaigns. The armoury is vast and while the gameplay simple, the strategy is there in bucket loads.

Love it, hate it for it's simplicity but if you are at all interested in the period, you'll want this in your library of Warhammer titles.

Bottom Line: Do yourself a favour.

I know this game gets a lot of heat for being ugly, unbalanced (for the Traitor faction in particular) and troops missing "all the time" but it's really not that bad. Make no mistake, it's definitely taken a spill from the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down, but Its a fun little game.

Playing the "unbalanced" Traitors was actually the most fun for me, as it required much more planning and making desperate flanking maneuvers compared to the sledgehammer efficiency of the Imperium. And for me that works! As for the inaccuracy of troops I'm from the days of old school PnP RPGs and I've seen the dice make enough mockery of statistics to not even flinch when my troops appereantly forget to load their weapons with live ammo and seemingly just fires randomly into the air anyway. However, it's not my experience that the enemy faction is any better off. It's just blind luck at times which can be frustrating to some but for me it kinda' works (seeing the same thing on my analog 40k battlefields all the time anyway).

So to sum up a short review... it's ugly, it's simplistic, and it's fun!

If you can get it on sale, I would recommend giving it a shot (though you might miss ;P ). Not sure I'd pay full retail price though.

Horribly unbalanced with unbeatable levels on any difficulty. Game play is very basic. I'm a big HH and Iron Warrior fan, and there was little fluff which was also disappointing. I'd return it if I could.

I almost forgot about the bugs. This game crashes or goes unresponsive often, and I guarantee it's not my rig.

Battle of Tallarn is a decent hex-based tactics game. Very minimalistic in design and visuals, obviously low-budget. Also, it's an iOS port, so if you're alergic to such things, stay away.

This game has a lot of problems, beginning with serious balance issues, clunky UI and somewhat "cheap" feeling. Some of those issues were patched, other are promised to be improved, but you can't change the overall mediocrity.

For what it's worth, it's a 10$ game and if you need your Wh40k fix, you'll get some enjoyment out of this. Don't expect it to be very tactical - most scenarios rely on you knowing what to do from the start. So, on later levels you're pretty much destined to lose the first attempt. And yes, forget about playing the traitor side - their campaign is horribly unbalanced at the moment. To the devs credit, some balance problems were solved... Well, time will tell, if all.

To sum up - If you're a complete noobie in terms of Warhammer lore, there's nothing here for you. You'll find other, better hex wargames in more familiar asthetics. In the other hand, if Horus Heresy means something to You, you'll find a bit of fun here. Just don't expect a complex, tactical game - Battle of Tallarn is quite basic.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war... and war is very very unfair... Your units miss every shot, even at point blank range, and even on the rare occasion you do hit something, the thinest armour will abosrb lascannons like a sponge soaks up water, on the other hand the AI are the finest marksman in the known universe, every shot rings out with eagle-eye accuracy, and it would also appear that your units have forgot to put on their armour this morning as every round blows through your units like hot piss on tissue!

I dont think I'd recommend this game to anyone, there's probably better ways to spend £7...

terrible - even for 9 euros and if you dont care for visuals. terrible gameplay mechanics, terrible balance that becomes straight on unfair in late campaigns - even on easiest difficulty and terrible UI. both sanctus reach and wh40k: armageddon beat this pile of **** in every aspect.

This game is unpolished,
Doesn't have multiplayer or map creator.
Enemy units can shoot you when you can't see through the fog of war so you can't determine what unit to counter it with.
Dreadnoughts just about one shot everything so just take them.
Some maps are interesting while others you have very little choice of what you do.
Terminators take enviromental damage with small health pool so are a liability, AI suicided a powerful unit against me.

Got my money's worth but its not a good game.

A good game, if not a bit basic.

Compared to other Warhammer 40k/30k based Video Games such as Dawn of War ( a similar kind of game) it is a bit of a let down, although overall the game is fun.

There isn't much "strategy" I've found so far, having played the Tutorial Missions and the first two segments of the First Strike Mission (Traitor), is that it is really predictable. Like, once you die, you know where everything is, so you can tailor your forces to deal with it. The only exception has been the Iron Hands Dreadnought mission, because the Imperial aligned Knights deployment seems to be random.

Overall a fun, if not basic, game.

As someone who has an Iron Warriors army dedicated to the Tallarn war, this was basically an instant-buy for me.

Gameplay wise, it's okay.

I highly suggest going for the How to Play the moment before you begin, so you know the basics of how the game plays. But, if you played 40k, most of the tank combat carries over. Firing at your targets from the side or rear has a higher chance at dealing damage, so positioning and movement are perhaps even more important than shooting. (Except for Contemptor Dreads, who basically one-shot everything with their power fists). The AI is competent, and will give you a run for your money especially on hard.

My major complaints are the sound, music and sprite department, which really could use some work. It sounds like it's a PC game from the early 90s, and that's when there's music that plays. Most of the time, it's just silence during gameplay. The poor sound, mediocre sprites and effects doesn't really help the cheap iOS feel that the game has from time to time.

As an app, I wouldn't be as critical. But on PC, I'm expecting a few upgrades at the very least. Especially at the asking price.

Finally, I wish there were some ease-of-life fixes. For example, make it easier to rotate your tank. Fix the rotation button instead of making figure out which pixel is okay to click on. As well, even with a tutorial telling me how to navigate the clunkiness of the game, it's far too easy to make mistakes with the current interface. It's easy to make mistakes when figuring out which weapon you're going to fire. It's easy to mess up your movement and shooting because a friendly unit got in the way of your firing arc. It's easy to underestimate how long it takes to climb a hill, messing up your unit's movement.

And it's this clunkiness that makes it hard for me to recommend thus far. As it stands, it's hard for me to recommend it. I like it, and I want to like it more. I love the setting, I love the factions in play, and I love the 40k universe, and I'm going trudge through another few hours, and hope things turn out for the better.

Not bad, whilst it suffers a bit from it's ios-like feel compared to more polished pc only titles, i've still found it an entertaining turn based strategy game based during the horus heresy era which is a setting I like that's often underrepresented.

Pros:
a.i. seems decent enough.
Quite a lot of units and weapons.
Can redefine keys, which is an option a lot of ios type games+ports don't allow for.
The RNG results don't seem too bad to me, but might need more time to know for sure
Quite tactical, need to take into account line of sight and good deployment to maximise your forces firepower. Flank/rear attacks and distance seems to have an effect on damage and hit chance too, more so on some weapons than others, which i like.
Fairly cheap.
The campaigns can be played as both loyalists and traitors.
Theres a decent number of standalone missions that can be played too.

Negatives:
Whilst interesting, campaigns are linear so there's probably not that much replayability once completed.
Graphics and music feels like from 90's gaming (which isn't necessarily a bad thing for some people)
Limited multiplayer options, appears to be only local (hotseat) hosting available.
No undo move option if you accidentally move to the wrong hex.
Lacking a map/scenario editor/maker so we can make our own content.
