Yeah this game is worth a try, but it is a rather still routine for every level, however I like the design and tree concept, could be better but for me it works as it is cheap, the Bio Defense : Zombie Outbreak is same and 15 years ago is better than this, could use some more like, a rare resources for a rare tree to boost other tree production and defense, more invaders type that can corrupt into bosses, more interaction with the environment, overall a cute game that is worth a try.
I would give a 6.5 out of 10, there should be better similar game out there.
Short but fun pass-the-time game
A fun little time killer. The levels aren't too hard but neither are they too easy. Played 6.5 hours to complete. Would recommend, especially for just a couple of £.
Very charming! Pleasant for experienced players, but eminently approachable for casual ones too. I only got tired of it long after getting my money's worth, it's more than worth the price.
It's a short game, but fun and definitely worth the price of $3. I beat it in about 3-4 hours, just wish they had more levels or came out with a second one
This game is cheap but it is so simple. Even more simple than many free games.
I liked the concept, liked the music. Game really has a potential. I look forward for more improvements. Until it gets some variety on buildings(trees), units, and some more maps and some strategy to play with, I m not recommending this game.
Meh-
Its ok, and I'm not really sure what I was epxecting for $3 or on sale for $2, but its just not really there as a game with enduring playing or enjoyment.
On one hand, it does elegantly strip down the RTS / Tower Defense game to their core principles. Collect resources A and B so you can build a collector for resource C. Use resources A, B, and C to build offense and defense. To that end, its elegant. The problem is, thats all it is. There is no reallocation of resources (I need more of resource A, so move resource B collectors to A). There is no variety of offense or defense (the bad guys have a bit of variety). And thus, its a very minimalistic game.
It does what it was set out to do, it just doesn't feel like enough.
So disappointing. Explains almost none of the rules and becomes impossibly difficult on the 2nd level. Was excited for a minimalist tower defense game to while away my time on but this is unplayable. Got a refund.
The game is nice. But short. But nice. But short. I spend 2 hours to go through. Including an hour of replays, while i tried to understand the structure of campaign. The thing is when you press New Game, it does not mean you loose a progress. You never do. To Continue the Game is possible if you left it on a half of the battle and turned it off. Next, you don't have an easy, medium and hard campaigns. You have one level with three difficulties and two levels with medium and hard only. So, there's actually only three maps. Ridiculously short. It was a brief guide. Now, back to the game.
Game mechanics and strategy is pretty unusual. Don't listen to people comparing it to the Creeper World. It only looks like CW, but much simplier and territory connected to the resources. Looks like tower defence, but there's no predefined ways for enemies. It is more like Titans but with calm, relaxing atmosphere and graphics.
I vote up, hoping for more levels. Really, devs, expand it!
It's basically if Creeper World was designed by people who were incompetent.
It's short, simple, and not difficult, good for a few hours of entertainment. Given the price, I can recommend this.
Puzzle game, tower defense, minimalistic, short, resource management like in an RTS game (the resource management from M.A.X. is the most similar I've seen), some army management.
Nanuleu focuses on the formula at the core of some tower defense and most realtime strategy games: Balance economy with warfare. Invest too much in your economy and you'll get overrun, invest too much in warfare and the opponent will eventually out-produce and overrun you.
Everything is reduced to almost the absolute minimum: graphics, sound, variety in the gameplay mechanisms.
The game is pretty short, with only 7 maps, and the first 4 are just tutorials. Still, at a $3 pricepoint you get more than your money's worth with 4-6 hours of engaging gameplay. The difficulty goes up sharply on the last three maps, with ever fewer strategies working and a dwindling margin of error. The hardest goal, beating map 7 within 15 minutes, turns this realtime/tower defense hybrid into a nice little puzzle game.
First impression: nice-looking short and difficult casual strategy game.
It doesn't play as nice as it looks. The basic strategy type is not new -- I've played flash games where you had to balance mining asteroids for resources with building defense installations while keeping them connected. But NANULEU only has 7 levels total (each level only has 1 difficulty) and a frustrating difficulty curve. Creeper World is much more fun to play, or even BattleTime; these games have more levels and will last you longer.
Needs more levels.
nice, littel game. Not difficult, not challenging, but nice.
Nanuleu is a good little game. The simple gameplay and graphics are attractive, and it's well worth the 1.99 I paid for it.
On the minus side, there aren't enough maps or levels - three maps each with three difficulty levels. It would be so much better with more maps.
It looks nice, sounds nice and plays nice till...
Difficulty:
Well, basically it is a hit-or-miss difficulty game. Guess wrong and use the wrong strategy and you won't get past the second level (and the rest is locked till you pass it.
Atmosphere:
Sound and colours are relaxing, the gameplay is plain annoying with the same pop-ups to click away each time you start a level, difficulty ramping up massively and very little options available to truly variate your strategy. Especially because every level seems to have the same limited 'tech tree'.
In short:
Bought it as a relaxing tower game, refunded a nice looking and sounding frustrating 'do this or lose' game.
is really difficult the last stage. anyway is archivable.
Worth the Price of Admission at $3.00
but it IS very short. (3 levels of 3 stages each)
While concpets might get old if it dragged on, and there isnt enough variety in the types of trees you can build for it not to get stale if there were say 20+ levels, Everything here is so polished that you cant help but wonder why they didnt include 3-4 more trees to prolong it 3-4 more levels (of 3 stages each) because it IS worth your time.
Just it wont consume much of it :)
Nice but too short. Only three levels with three difficulties on each - you play it 5-6 times and it's not interesting anymore. It would be cool if devs would add more maps, levels, types of trees etc. The beginning is very good though.
Bought this game when it came out on Steam. I have to say I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It is a very relaxed game but it still has a bit of difficulty to it. If you like tower defense games but you want something that is relaxed and fun, then this is the game for you.
Plus, it is only $3 and you can't beat that price.
A simple, relaxing Tower Defense game.
Adorably cute enemies, TREES.
I really like this game.
