I found this to be an enjoyable P&C Adventure.
The graphics, sound and mechanics were nice.
Story and pacing had some issues but enjoyable none the less.
I did however encounter a bug or two and was forced to play with different resolution setting than normal to get the game graphics to work properly.
I bought it on Steam, even though I had already gotten it from Walmart™ and finished it. That's how damn good and special this game is.
Very nice game and soundtrack. Hated to see the story come to an end.
Hope there's a part 2 with unspoiled highlights from part one over the Devil's Cut song.
That would be sweet!!!!
Not difficult, great music, voice acting and art style. Overall, fun little game.
Very nice nerdy puzzles :-)
This game starts out really strong. Cool concept, decent voice acting, real-life logic-based puzzles. The horrible jokes by the protagonist are forgivable for awhile but then the the writing takes a dive. The story tries to end itself quickly as you ponder the motivations of many characters. This game is not BAD, but it's certainly not GREAT.
Classic point&click adventure. The graphic of the figures is strange but you get used to it fast.
It has a great start - but the story has some weired plot holes. The conclusion in the end feels lazzy and doesnt make much sense in my opinion.
But it was fun thought. A good game all together. Sad that the story was so badly written in the second half of the game. Wasted potential. Could have been 9/10 - so its only 6,5/10 for me.
game does not have outstanding, vibrant graphics nor animations, ending was a bit underwhelming, but i really enjoyed this feeling of solitude during first 2 chapters flaked with great ambient music. Timing with game release is quite interesting, knowing what happened later. Beta tests on how to control mindless cattle ended successfuly.
if youre looking for something with similar vibes check Dead Synchronicity & Resonance.
Uninspired puzzles, awful writing, and forgettable characters. Story ends with a dense thud. I couldn't wait for it to be over.
Art is unique and interesting, music is high quality.
Cool soundtrack, puzzles that are challenging but not overly (though be warned that if you're stuck, it's usually be cause you need to talk to folks again about a new topic or there's a screen that you haven't walked to yet (e.g. the scarecrow field).
great dialogue, interesting art, good puzzles - thoroughly enjoyable
Could have been good but seems it has a few game ending bugs - I ran into the missing hotspot bug on Chap 3 island door and can't get back in to continue. This is very poor.
I have no interest in restarting as now every time I get stuck for a bit I can't be sure if I've missed a clue somewhere or have hit another bug.
Not really a thumbs up, moreso a "I wish there was a neutral button rather than just yes and no". I'm not sure who exactly I'd recommend it to, is the thing. It's got a rather nice visual style, as well as a rather fine run-down-contemporary setting. Seems to be inspired by Canada, feels more European than you usually get to see in games, giving off a bit of a Disco Elysium vibe that way.
Otherwise it's not bad, and I've certainly played worse modern point-and-clickers. It doesn't have an insufferable protagonist, which is a welcome exception. But it's just not quite charming enough, deep enough or memorable ebough, and might be a bit on the frustrating side when it comes to some of the puzzles.
I guess that it's a step above most of the genre output from the last decade or so, but it doesn't reach "yes, do absolutely play it" level of some of the classics of the genre.
Good humor in the dialog, and good art. The story and characters are fairly interesting. I liked the settings, being in the mountains for a good portion of it.
pretty good point and click game. story is very engaging and has a good ending. some of the puzzles are not intuitive and can be frustrating - i had to use a guide a couple of times as i knew what to do but couldn’t find the right items to make it work.
1000% would recommend this game! Its not a typical puzzle game u can solve in 2-3 hours. It truly hangs you on the story and I am not gonna lie had a few rage quits due to how hidden some solutions were. Im so glad I bought this game and huge respect to the creators. I can see how your heart and soul is in this game. Thank you for creating it!
A solid 8. Modern and fresh point & click adventure. With a nice art and audio department, especially the english voice over, and storytelling is also great. The game has no exceptionally original aspects but that is neither a problem nor really needed from a point and click adventure. What's needed is a good story and nice puzzles and this game has both. Definitely recommended.
This game is ok. I got mixed feelings after finishing it, because it's actually pretty great the whole way through, right until the ending. While the first three chapters are very well done, interesting and fun to play, with easy but satisfying puzzles, great memorable characters (the eagle! the eagle!) and great voice acting and sound design, the last chapter felt abruptly short, rushed, and anti-climactic. It's weird, because some stuff happens that should feel pretty climactic, but its rushed nature made it feel like "wait, that's it?". Don't get me wrong, the story wraps up, no loose ends, this is not one of those "to be continued" games or anything like that, but after playing 3 long and thorough chapters, that ending just felt like a "oh, the deadline is almost here, we have to wrap this up quick!" kind of situation. That's definitely my main gripe with an otherwise solid point & click adventure game. I have just one other problem with this game, which might just be an exaggeration, but I couldn't help thinking about it during my time with it: it has to do with a sickness that spreads in a way reminiscent of COVID (and this came out way before COVID, so that made it eerier xD). Yet, in the game, spoilers ahead, the virus is actually produced by a health company . While this is pretty cliched, after COVID, and seeing as there was a rise in conspiracy theories and anti-vaccine movements I wonder if this game could actually be detrimental in some way to people who are already a bit doubtful about science . I actually have done some research in the lab on vaccine hesitancy and have met many people who think like that or are unsure, and something like this game could "make sense" to them. I don't know. There are some elements present here that go against this interpretation, but confirmation bias can make you blind to them if you already have a tendency on that direction, so it would be interesting to actually assess this in some way XD.
Anyway, I think that the game still holds up, and in spite of my problems with it, I liked it enough to recommend it.
The fact that it released before covid-19. I love wisecracker protagonists and he was well written. Not the craziest story but plots were fun.
Very good game - nice graphics, good story, interesting puzzles.
Really nice point and click mystery thriller. The artwork drew me in, and the storytelling kept me playing. There are walkthroughs for the few places you might need them. Two thumbs up!
COVID before it was cool
A nice game, the story's okay if a bit cliché. The dialogues are well written and acted. Most puzzles make sense and are satisfying to solve. Art direction is very nice.
Pretty fun, good puzzles.
The story is compelling, the voice acting is good, the puzzles are not too hard nor too easy. However:
- It takes 10s or more to load every time you change scene, and since you're walking back and forth a lot, this is very annoying. Also, I have 32GB of RAM. Just load the whole chapter and be done with it. I checked and apparently the loading is single-threaded, too, that means no matter how many cores your CPU has or how much RAM there is, you'll still have to endure this ridiculous wait every single time. From my playtime, which is around 6 hours now, I'd say about 1-1.5 hours are just waiting for screens to load over and over again
- There's a puzzle where you have to get the right... item from a list, and realistically, one would just take the whole list to check and not take one item at a time and discard existing item in your inventory. This ruins the immersion for me.
Wasn't my absolute favorite game but I did enjoy my time with it. Voice acting was good for the most part, the puzzles were solvable and i felt a sense of accomplishment for many of them. I did reference a guide at a couple points though to direct where I went next though, as the movement speed is quite slow and rechecking multiple areas can be a bit tedious. The story overall didn't stick the landing but the beginning was interesting enough to keep me playing.
Fun and well-balanced point-and-click game that lasts quite some time.
Dialogues are fun but not too long, puzzles are of medium difficulty and not frustrating. The music and drawings are nice.
The animations could be better, and it lacks a bit of charm, but I still strongly recommend it.
Well-written, funny, and I think literally every puzzle makes sense in the actual sense, rather than the adventure game sense. It's a little creepy that this came out before COVID...
I like this game and think it holds up. The puzzles aren't 100% clear but i was able to get through the game 95% without using a guide. Just some trial and error. The art is absolutely fantastic and the voice acting carries the game well. Plot's engaging and the characters are lovable. The twists are also not for the sake of it which is something i like
Fantastic art style
Brilliant story
Great music
Funny voice acting
Great character's
I love it
10/10 game
my kind of game :)
I liked the game as a whole.
What I did not know until playing it is that it was the playbook for Fauci and the Democrats with the whole "covid outbreak" crap... They barely even changed the plot, they just copied the game and renamed the virus.
The game was released in 2018...
Loved this game! 10/10 from me!! Great art style, cool story, fun puzzles!
It's OK.
I'm not impressed with the animations or the interactions between the character and the world, they were stiff and minimal. Compared to some other point n' click adventures it's a bit disappointing and brings my score down.
Great voice acting, good humor. Decent puzzles with some nice variations. Never needed a guide or got stuck, the game helps you enough if you need a hint.
The story was good but not that complex and no real twists that I didn't see coming already.
20€ is... probably not too expensive but still, I think 15€ would feel more fair.
It's nothing I'll return to and probably will forget rather quick, but I did have a few pleasant evenings with it.
6.5/10
Quite a fun game with a compelling storyline. There is a lot of dialogue, with point-and-click puzzle solving elements here and there. Beautiful artwork too (except for Helliwell's face, which is weirdly unsettling). I really enjoyed this one!
fun
Beautiful art and cool style. Excellent voice acting and good puzzles.
A joy to play and an awesome modern throwback for anyone that remembers Monkey Island, Kings Quest, Legend of Kryandia and more!
It's a nice modern version that doesn't waste your time trying to find what you can click on screen and rather gets to the business of solving what to do with the things you can interact with.
