Released in 2016, **3D Pool** is a billiards simulation game developed by **Z Software GMBH**. Available on platforms such as PC, the game aims to provide an engaging and realistic pool experience, featuring various game modes and a user-friendly interface. With its focus on both casual players and pool enthusiasts, 3D Pool offers a blend of fun and competition in a virtual setting.
Graphics and Presentation
3D Pool showcases **decent graphics** for a billiards simulation game, with a focus on providing a visually appealing environment. The tables, cues, and balls are rendered in 3D, giving players a sense of depth and realism. While the graphics may not reach the level of some more modern titles, they are functional and serve the gameplay well.
The **user interface** is straightforward and easy to navigate, allowing players to quickly access different game modes, settings, and customization options. The overall presentation is clean, though it lacks the polish found in some competing titles.
Gameplay Mechanics
The gameplay mechanics in 3D Pool are designed to be accessible, making it easy for newcomers to pick up and play. The game features various billiards styles, including 8-ball, 9-ball, and snooker, catering to a wide range of preferences.
Controls
The controls are intuitive and responsive, allowing players to aim and shoot with ease. The game employs a **power gauge** that helps players determine the strength of their shots, while an aiming system guides players in lining up their shots. This combination of features strikes a balance between simplicity and skill, making it enjoyable for both casual and serious players.
Game Modes
3D Pool offers a variety of **game modes** to keep players engaged:
* **Single Player Mode**: Players can practice their skills against AI opponents, which provides a good opportunity to hone techniques and improve their game.
* **Local Multiplayer**: Friends can compete against each other on the same device, making it a great option for social gaming.
* **Online Multiplayer**: Players can challenge others from around the world, adding a competitive edge to the experience. The matchmaking system is generally efficient, allowing for quick games.
### Customization and Progression
The game includes some **customization options**, allowing players to personalize their cues and tables. While the selection may not be extensive, it adds a layer of personalization that enhances the overall experience. However, the progression system could benefit from more depth, as players may find themselves wanting additional challenges or rewards for their efforts.
Sound Design
The **sound design** in 3D Pool is functional but not particularly remarkable. The ambient sounds of a pool hall, the clattering of balls, and the sound of the cue striking the ball contribute to the overall atmosphere. However, the audio may lack the depth and richness found in other titles, which could detract from the immersive experience.
Conclusion
In summary, 3D Pool is a solid billiards simulation that provides a fun and accessible experience for players of all skill levels. While it may not boast the high-end graphics or extensive features of some competing titles, it delivers a satisfying gameplay experience that can be enjoyed both solo and with friends.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
* Accessible gameplay mechanics suitable for newcomers
* Various game modes, including online multiplayer
* Intuitive controls and aiming system
* Basic customization options for cues and tables
Cons:
* Graphics are decent but lack polish compared to modern titles
* Limited progression and challenge for experienced players
* Sound design could be more immersive
Overall, 3D Pool is a worthwhile option for those looking to enjoy a casual billiards experience. While it may not be the most groundbreaking title in the genre, it provides enough enjoyment and accessibility to appeal to a broad audience. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, 3D Pool offers a fun way to enjoy the classic game of billiards.
This is a really bad game. It's like you're playing in slow motion.
thanks!
random game please dont buy this shit
Excellent game. Easy to play and no issues with video. Very smooth.
3D Pool
10/10
Hi, look when i saw this game on the store i thought to myself, is this it? is this this game i have been searching for my whole life? a pool game that includes naturally feeling camera and movement controls, that mimics so flawlessly the real life feeling of the felt? all of this in an easy to play online with friends package? the answer to all of these questions is no, but not bad for a dollar! wait for a sale.
On first glance this game may appear to be nothing but the simplest of activities, but i can assure you it is much more then that.
With a input scheme that could put tears on the face of God and connectivity that could solve Polio it is well definitely a game that will change your view of others
horrible game, impossible game mechanics and very bad video quality
game is good, just need some updates
In development, but worth every penny. One hundred and twelve pennies and counting!
Recommended.
This game is an arcade type game. And can be fun to play. Unfortunately it has some bugs. One is when you play snooker, the coloured balls are sometimes not replaced at all when there are still reds on the table. And that of course spoils the game. Another issue is with the lighting, with some dark coloured pool balls being indistinguishable from one another in some circumstances. This leads to mistakes and spoils the game also.
If it were not for these bugs and issues I would have given it a thumbs up.
This. Game. Is. Terrible.
The graphics are fine, though the lighting has a little to be desired. Whatever.
The issue I take with the game are as follows:
1) You CAN aim with the mouse, but it's not clearly laid out how you should be doing it.
2) There's a HUGE LACK of options for pool. (You can't do masse shots, the physics are off, you can't raise the butt of your cue stick, there's no 'free play', there's no option to turn off the music and sound effects separately, you can't customize controls, when you are mid-game and you hit esc, you get 3 options but none of them have to actually do with changing options mid-game)
3) The pool rules aren't correct, or you don't have the option of selecting which rules you want to follow.
If you're looking for a decent pool/snooker game, you might as well go back to Virtual Pool 3 since it's 1000x better a game despite this one looking more flashy.
I do -NOT- recommend this game. The fact that I'm taking the time out to write about how terrible it is should be cause enough to avoid this game.
This game has good graphics. I've played it for 24 hours. It has a few unfortunate quirks. Only "you" can break unless you purposely foul. In snooker there is no penalty for scratching. Example: If you scratch off a cherry you should get a 4 point substraction from your score. You don't in this game. If you are playing a three or five game match in snooker on every game after the first one when you pocket a color ball it stays off the table and not replaced on it's spot. In this instance you can get a foul when pocketing a cherry.
I have only played eight ball and snooker so far so cannot offer any comments on the other type of games available with this game. Very frustrating and I am disappointed on a very good looking game with fairly good physics. Cannot recommend this game if you care about proper rules of the real game.
first problem is: you can only position the cue stick with the arrow keys, making it impossible to shoot where you want to. tapping the arrow keys only gives you certain pre arranged clicks spots . the cue stick should be moved by the mouse not the arrow keys! then you can position it exactly where you want it. I had a much better game but lost it and it is no longer made, unfortunately. it was called 3D pool too. VERY FRUSTRATING!
This is a very good pool game with good physics.
You can do Soloplay, multiplayerplay or training.
You can choose between 4 tables, 4 variations of balls and 3 queue.
As I can say the graphics are good and the game runs without slow downs.
The Ki is good and challenging but fair, even the harder ones makes sometimes one or two mistakes.
This game is a total piece of CRAP, makes me wonder what the rest of the games are like?????????
Great game. Physics are good. Fun.
