it cool game i recomend ;)
no cutscene where deimos and sanford kiss, still great game
maybe im crazy, but i prefer the original flash project nexus
Great game hours of fun and many of opportunities to play how you want!!
Very fun game. It is coop so your friends can join.
I love the fuck out of this game! It's really fun to play and helps me vent out my frustrations when I'm having a terrible day. This game is a 10/10 for me.
worth it 100% i can beat people up without anything holding me back
super cool and fun. i hope this game continues updating for a while to really polish and hopefully add more content
Fantastic hack, slash, and shooting game based on the Madness Combat Universe by Krinkels!
I absolutely love this game to the point it's almost criminal there isn't online multiplayer. I don't know what I need to pay in order to make this happen but IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN.
PLEASE KRINKLES. ARENA COMBAT W/ FRIENDS.
The Creber Origin has became my favorite origin in this game! I became a huge fan of M:PN for it's progress, it's combat system, the difficulties, everything. Madness difficulty has been too easy for me due to my origin usage in combat and my imprints, I've been wondering though if you could possibly come up with a update with a new harder difficulty? In a way to make this intimidating too is to add new enemies and bosses for normal waves and than infinite, I do hope you come up with something like that because I would really love more challenges with difficulties! <3
I was always a big fan of madness combat project nexus series since I was a kid and now that I have the money to buy madness project nexus on steam feels amazing. The game has many similarities to the flash version and also new features that make the game feel even more alive. I totally recomand playing this game if you are a big fan of run'n'gun games.
I gonna be honest, it was hard to like at first, it was very different from other similar games. But once you realize you are meant to play it as if you were in the animated series, then it becomes the best game ever.
Gun out of ammo? Don't wait for an ammo box throw it away, preferably by incrusting it on an enemy's face. Want to pick a gun from the floor? Don't walk over to it a grab it like a peasant, slide over it kick it and grab it mid-air. Low on health? Don't coward behind cover, BE VIOLENT! YOU REGEN BY BEING VIOLENT! THE HIGHER THE COMBO THE FASTER THE REGENERATION! Big attack coming? Deflect it with your bare hands. What if you are overwhelmed by bullets? CUT THEM OUT OF THE AIR! HANK J WIMBLETON CAN DO THAT WITH HIS EYES CLOSE AND WITH A LEAD PIPE!
In this game you don't want to be a coward, this game is a power fantasy, you HAVE to rip them apart.
Also, in my opinion, the campaign is just an extended tutorial. I enjoy the game by playing the arena mode in MADNESS difficulty, with no hirelings, as low a level as possible and without armour. But that's just a me thing.
I enjoy the game so much, it really feeds my damn hyperfixation on this series and I'm so glad I was able to get it, keep up the damn good work crew! The gameplay is fantastic, sure the controls are a bit off but it's easy to get the hang of, the story-line is good, the voice acting is phenomenal, the designs are incredible, and the overall backgrounds and Hell, even the Arena Combat mode is fun as hell, I enjoy this game so so very passionately. All the kudos for the team and Krinkles himself! <3
It's been almost 4 years since this game was released to the public. Back then, in the distant past, I was a schoolboy without a job or pocket money, and I couldn't try this product, so I went to my friend's house every day and played this game on his computer. What did I feel then? I was very happy that a universe like Madness Combat was developing on such a scale. I liked everything: fights, graphics, style, customization, story mode... And then, after going through the arena mod 3 times and playing as a mage, I realized that it was too boring and put the game on the back burner.....
What's with the game now? Nothing. Literally nothing. All that was really worthwhile was added over these 4 years - a couple of new characters and every 2 months they roll out an update with 2 fixes for some bugs and... that's it. I understand that it wasn't done by a big studio, there were a couple of people there and they don't have time and few people are interested in the game anymore. But fuck, your level design has remained the same since September 2021, it's just as incomprehensible lol, I'm sure half of the people quit the game after they spent 2 hours trying to get through the fucking tutorial to level 3. Because they don't tell you that you don't have to do it, the main thing for you is always to get through levels 2-3, and then abandon the task and that's it. This is nonsense, who came up with this? The interface is inconvenient (for me personally). And it's inconvenient only because of the fucking bugs, of which there are enough, and I'm sure a person who played at least 5 hours NOT IN THE STORY (although even in it there were all sorts of bugs), will encounter at least 3 major bugs. For example, after I imprinted in the arena 2 times, I started actively skipping character dialogues. And in the dialogue with Gambler (where you go up the stairs with him), you can stupidly actively press the ENTER button and wait for him at the door to another dimension, but no, the scripts will break and he will stupidly stand at another door (downstairs). And this is one of many bugs. Fuck, in the end, 3 years and a bit have passed, and NOTHING has changed here, NOTHING at all. And I'm sad that the authors are actively selling merch, some figurines, etc., and not working on their own game, which, apparently, has become their little PR company. Oh, and by the way, while I was writing this review, I went into the game, where 3 of my imprints simply flew off and I ended up at level 8 as a noob, although I was Massive. Go to hell, developers.
peak story, peak mechanics, peak madness, and now it has steam workshop. PEAK.
I was in no way expecting what loaded when I clicked on this game. I have to say I'm extremely pleasantly surprised at both the violent humor and the art style. This is def a gem to keep around.
4/10, mediocre and overrated
-Game is too easy, even on harder difficulties you can beat most levels on your first try. Most arena levels become way too easy after you complete them, giving no reason to replay them.
-Enemy variety is nonexistent - Most enemies behave identically to each other, their only difference being their appearance and slightly different stats. Imagine playing DOOM, but the only enemies are zombies and Imps, that's what this is like. There are a few unique enemies, but many only appear in a single level, like Wildlanders, which only appear in 1 arena level, or Lamenters, and Dissonance Golems which are only in the final campaign level. There are shield enemies which were a good idea implemented badly, you're supposed to kill them from behind, but they turn too fast so the only way to deal with them is to spam melee attacks until they get stun-locked, so all they do is slow the game to a crawl.
--Bosses - I will skip the bosses I have nothing to say about
-Mag Bandit has way too much health, and the only weapons you get to fight him with are weak melee weapons, not only that, but you have to fight him twice.
-Church and Jorge are decent, but it's really telling that one of the few good bosses gets reused 3 times.
-Sheriff, Christoff, and Hank are all too weak, if you fight them with melee, they get stun-locked so you can't lose as long as you spam left-click, if you fight them with guns, they die in like 5 hits.
-Crackpots dies too fast, if he had more health the fight would be good.
-Hive is good, but goes on for too long, it takes like 15 minutes to kill it.
-Phobos is alright, but underwhelming for a final boss, like they focused too much on the flashy visuals and the fight itself isn't very good.
-Grand Steward is the only boss that's good.
--Bad weapon balancing
-Melee weapons are slow and have short range, which is expected, but they also deal LESS damage than most guns, and you can't move when attacking with one, making them boring to use.
-ARs outclass every other weapon category, melee for the reasons stated prior, SMGs are just weaker and less accurate ARs, shotguns don't have enough ammo and the higher damage doesn't matter because most enemies die quickly anyway, snipers are WAY too slow and don't even ignore tac-bars, MGs and flamers hinder movement too much and run out of ammo fast, grenade launchers are pathetically weak, and rocket launchers are the worst aspects of snipers and grenade launchers combined.
-There are many useless weapons, like the snipers, or the Tasers and Flare Guns which are worse than pistols in every way. There are also cryo guns that do little damage and again, most enemies die in around 3 hits anyway, so why go to extra effort of freezing them?
-Most weapons not based on real-life weapons look horrendous.
-Sweetspot - When using guns there will be a small spot in the direction you're aiming, shooting enemies inside this spot will deal extra damage and ignore tac-bars, it's a good idea, but it's never utilized, you never need to use it.
-Story is bad, it's made vague to give the illusion of it being deep, but it isn't and is only made like that because writing a real story would take effort.
--ARENA - Arena mode involves starting weak and getting stronger as you progress, when you start an arena save you can select one of several Origins, which are basically characters with different abilities and stats
-Imprints - You get an Imprint after completing arena mode, some Origins require that you have 1-3 imprints to play as them, which means you'll need to replay the entire mode over and over again just to try out the different origins, and this isn't helped by the levels being repetitive and bloated in length, which I'll get to soon.
--Some origin abilities weren't thought out well, there are multiple instances of this, but I will omit them from the review so it doesn't become too long to post.
-Arena mode is too long for what it is - All arena waves are very repetitive, lots of them being identical to previous waves, the game never tries changing the patterns of what enemy types spawn and when, it only ever adds a few more of the same enemies you've already seen. There are also 5 story levels, which play like campaign levels instead of arenas, they are poorly designed and not difficult at all, the only thing they add is a story which could've easily been put into cutscenes instead.
--Arena levels - I will skip the levels I have nothing to say about, prior criticisms regarding enemies and arena mode as a whole still apply.
-Pitstop - The goal of this level is to protect 4 gas pumps, the levels design is a large, open area, on the left of the level there is a car that acts like a wall, and enemies spawning on the left of the level will often run behind it and sit there forever, there is a chance for a "Full-scale assault" to occur, where every enemy runs to and attacks the gas pumps, and the idea might've been for the enemies to build up behind the car for that, but even if that's true it doesn't matter because that rarely happens and you'll be spending most of your time sitting around that one spot because that's where the enemies are.
-Slaughter Time - Enemies here attack with slow-moving projectiles that ignore your tac-bar and do decent damage, this is a good idea that should've been in more levels instead of only this one. The design of the level is fine, except during infinite waves where there will be a hole in the middle, if you fall in, you lose instantly, regardless of how many lives you have left, this is a terrible idea.
-The Haunting - Most of this level is fighting the same ghost enemy over and over again, with the levels other enemies only appearing at the very end of the waves.
-The Heist - Worst level in the game, you have set a drill to open a vault, and a wave will begin once it's set, the vault will be drilled open after 3 minutes, allowing you to go inside and collect a reward, there are up to 3 vaults, each one giving higher value rewards than the last, the waves consist of spamming a single enemy type, the other enemies in this level only appearing at the end of a wave, except for one that appears rarely during waves, so if you want to get all rewards, you have to spend 9 whole minutes fighting the exact same enemies over and over again, which is extremely boring. This is the only level that has no way to replenish lost lives, and the only difficult part is at the end, after you've already spent 9 minutes doing this shit, so if you lose a life, it's better to restart the level and save your lives for the end. The design of the level itself is also awful, it's one big, empty room, there is also a big, empty outdoors area, but there are enemies that stay out there to attack you if you leave the building, so there's no reason to ever go out of it, the level also just ends if you look around outside, like it wasn't even finished.
-Hard Sell - This level has some good ideas, like it being the only level where most enemies will wait outside of the main area and build up their numbers before all attacking, and the Sniper and grenade launcher enemies, but the Snipers suffer from the fact that this games sniper rifles are a joke as stated earlier.
-Nexus Facility - Nothing to say except that the 3rd, 4th, and 5th areas of this level are the only good level designs in the entire arena mode.
-S3LF Eater campaign - Side story that adds like 4 tiny rooms in the hub world, it starts when you activate a thing in one of the rooms, and a new boss enemy will randomly appear in the hub world, he has A LOT of health, and can kill you instantly in a single attack, regardless of how many lives you have, and you need to kill it to progress, not only that, but in order to complete this campaign, you have to fight it SEVEN TIMES! This boss is already horrendous on its own, and requiring the player to fight it 7 times is inexcusable.
absolutely amazing. gameplay felt great and yadda yadda. play the game without spoilers. trust.
A good game is one that compels you to beat it and I finished this game in single player. Bought a copy for the GF and about to play through a second time in CO-OP
Super good game i can't get enough of it high quality very good game play & very weird story line weird in a good way. A chunk of it makes no sense but in a good and cool way.
I killed almost everyone
that one guy throws me into the net trap door
it opens
i fall and die
i restart the mission again
Good game 10/10 would defenitivly recommend
i Enjoy the madness Series including the original flash game of project nexus, the game was a lot of fun i literally kept playing Arena campaign despite beating it 3 times now. However the workshop addons doesn't work in the release game version and must be played on the beta version im confused as to why as the game sometimes freeze and continue with the screen still frozen, either its my laptop or a bug since i was playing it in beta, i hope you can fix it, i would really like it if i can play the game modded in the release version
sanfdo ceep deing becsu atacers hrut me, frest level to ard it hurt me ahdands im snding lowsoot to roskar games fo dong ths to me yor worman an demso has hart atac becaus they but fricking me
I enjoy this game a lot. It's mainly the combat that just feels so satisfying. And what's even better is the wide diversity of different paths, weapons, and play styles to look into. If you are looking for a game where you fight armies of enemies and looking cool and stylish while doing it, I would recommend this game. The campaign's great (although I haven't finished it yet), and definitely the arena combat mode is fun to play, which opens up for new customization. The playground can also be fun to work around, mainly just putting NPCs against each other. There are two things that I don't like but at the same time don't mind. One, the AI can get goofy at times. Apparently it's common for some to complain about the AI, but for a game like this, are you really expecting such good AI? Well maybe for you friendly NPCs, but for enemies, it's fine I guess. Another is specifically in the Arena mode. there are just some characters that just feel weak. I played this game for a while, and ALMOST gotten through all the origins. There are some that I believe are just not the best. Some are good, some are pretty balanced, and some either feel rushed or under-powered. But, who gives a crap if you can just slaughter a bunch of figures made out of clay and also looking sick doing it? Would recommend this game. (Thumbs Up Emoji) :)
Very cool continuation of the Project Nexus sequel and potential for more grand expansion of this universe. 10/10 game.
pretty much assumed controller support only to find that it's not there. seems like an okay game but worth maybe 5$ if you have to play it in an office.
I would highly reccomend playing this if you like beat em up and run and gun style games and the story is really good im not spoiling so if it interests you go and give this a try.
The game just isn't for me. The combat is boring and there are a lot of other stuff I dislike but I would rather refrain from saying due to them being personal preferences. I would've refunded but I kept trying to convince myself this would be peak because this is a Madness Combat game. I will probably come back to this game in the future and finish it. Someday...
Me n my friend play this all the time. It's super fun with a friend and I just love how satisfying the combat it. Perfect for this series.
funny barrel goes boom, funny gun goes pew, 12 grunts dead
pure dopamine
I love the game especially because it part of the madness combat universe and really makes you want to play it over and over again. Arena mode is really good!
this game is so much fun, i was into madness a little before this game, and the hype around it was so real. the story missions are really fun to go through, and so is the arena combat. the base gameplay loop is so much fun, i cannot praise this game enough. thank god it's not just floating rocks.
best third person shooter on the market. fun story mode, challenging single player content, an lots an lots o blood. certainly one of my favorite games.
Story is Basic Enough to play this Game. Its not Much, but its long enough and has lots of Secrets and Stuff to do.
Really fun. Made me forget I live in a basement with two roaches as my only source of interaction with the outside world.
This game is awesome, The story mode it's so long but so detailed i don't wanna spoil the ending but it was a real plot twist, Well kind of it's insane when i first saw the demo there were only 2 levels and a tutorial but the game looked in a fine shape, But only downside is that if you get far into the arena mode and leave your game doesn't save which is a bummer, And make sure you have a good laptop to handle this.
Played at first and didn’t think I liked it thought it was kind of a bland beat em up but eventually realized it’s actually really in-depth and the combat mechanics are actually amazing 100% would recommend getting this. Insanely fun.
They outdid themselves with the production value, it’s amazing.
Where do I even start, this game is the GOAT. I've always been a fan of the Madness series, and this is by far one of the best Madness games I've ever played. Would recommend 10/10. It gets even better with mods too!
im madness combat
A lot of good fun an builds quite a bit on the original games arena mode
I love this game. It has so much gore and it is an upgrade of MPN 1.

well this game for you ^V^ have fun :)
Arena mode is peak, would recommend playing, the only really bad parts is how repetitive it can be, due to waves eventually reaching over 100 enemies, it can get really tedious, and a lot of the time its hazards that take your life unless you get cornered.
Great game love the mandess combat series and this is just a great replication of the og version
T
This game offers very violent and satisfying hack and slash gameplay, and has multiple origins in its arena mode to further diversify the way you cut through all of the enemies. it also has a banger soundtrack. 10/10 would recommend
