A very cute, short Japanese point & click adventure with a decent enough story (but nothing groundbreaking). The art style of the game is gorgeous, it's all hand-drawn watercolours. Very pretty and very chill. I 100% the achievements in approx 2 hours, so I wouldn't pay more than £5 for it. Sometimes the game crashes and you have to reload (make sure to keep saving). Overall a nice way to spend a few hours.

Sweet, short point and click adventure.

The Puzzles are interesting and not overly challenging.
About 2h of playtime.
Playing feels nice and smooth.
No bugs encountered during my play-trough.
Not much replay value since there are no decisions to make story wise and the puzzles have the same solutions.
I liked it and would recommend you giving it a try.

very short, doesn't have much puzzle, all of the puzzles are rather straight forward and simple. This is more of a story telling however the story is very short, more like one small incident during the main character's life - saving a boy that she passed by. And telling us the whole story of the boy.

Overall, I would rather watch this in cartoon form as one episode (30min long) with popcorns than playing the game.

Although this is created as a point and click game, this still falls more on the genre of the "Escape Room" type game play quite famous among the Japanese Doujin works. Kinda like "The Witch's House" and other games falling under that genre.

The whole game is short, and doesn't feels like the standard Point and Click games we've gotten used to, but for those who have played those escape genre shouldn't find this too alien, those are more like a hybrid between the Visual Novel and Adventure RPG but this game is put in a Point and Click mechanism instead... other than that, the rest of the layout and pattern is almost exactly the same.

If you are after the card drops, you might need to keep this game idle for awhile to get the drops because it really is too short and not enough to get all the cards before we hit the ending.

Overall, this is kinda like a new experience, between a hybrid of the Western point and click and the Japanese escape genre. If you like any of those genres, you should be able to like this game no doubt.

Well, neutral review option should be a thing here really, but I'm soft-hearted so will make it positive.
One progress-blocking-bug that's around for years and require you to use 'skip' function is major negative here.
Artwork was pleasing. Expected some light story, but actually it got bit dark, but that's fine.
Around 2h to play-through is not much, but at -75% price it's acceptable.
Cheers!

BGM is annoying.

After 4 years they still haven't bothered to fix the bug where the game gets stuck when you're supposed to kick the cat down the hole. Saw this in discussions after experiencing this.
So you have to skip parts of the story to continue! Very bad.

To top it off, the story was horrendous.

This game is worth a few bucks, but nothing more. It's like a 2-hour slideshow of nice watercolor artwork serving as the backdrop for 3 interesting puzzles, cute chibi characters, and an underdeveloped story.

Pros:
- Character designs, including NPCs, are cute and surprisingly detailed.
- Some worldbuilding/lore established.
- Puzzles are interesting and can be tricky but are not difficult.
- Rather nice watercolor artwork used as scenery/backdrops.
- Music is alright.

Cons:
- Dialogue is very tedious.
- Really only 3 or 4 puzzles?
- Phoned it in on the Achievements.
- Character movement is stilted.
- Same glitch from 2016 is still there in 2019.
- Ending doesn't make sense. (Why would the bugs release bow and arrows for you to use?)
- Cute art is playing during the credits rather than in the game.
- Worldbuilding/lore entirely unnecessary. (And background, never mind implied story leads, regarding the protagonists aren't elaborated on.)

Resette's Prescription

I attempted to solve a puzzle with algebra, only to brute force it in the end because I'm dumb. :/

A very nice point and click game. While short and decently easy compared to other games of the genre, the characters are quite endearing, and the music is amazing.

The game is very short. It took me 2.3 hours to complete the game. (Any further hours were for trading cards and achievement hunting.)

Despite its length, it manages to tell a nice story in its time. The mysteries that the story presents drive you to want to find out more. The main characters, Resette and Gaede, are very cute and charming. They are portrayed as if they are part of a larger overarching story, with this game being another chapter of their adventures. However, outside of the manga in the artbook, I'm not aware of them being involved in any other stories. A tad disappointing because playing this game makes me want to know more about them and their experiences.

As a point and click game, there are a lot of puzzles. A good portion of these puzzles are decently easy to solve once you figure out how they work. (Except for that one early puzzle I brute forced.) Though, they are not too easy as I wasn't bored with solving them. The only difficulty I had was noticing special objects or paths because I'm apparently blind. :/
This game has no hint system at all. So if you get stuck, you will need to search online for a let's play, because guides for this game apparently do not exist.

The game introduces you to a basic tutorial at the beginning. When your cursor turns into a pair of boots, clicking will have Resette or Gaede walk there. Movement kind of gets funky at times as sometimes you're not quite sure how far you're allowed to walk in a particular room. An area that looks walkable actually isn't since your mouse doesn't turn into boots. Meanwhile walkable areas appear to be unwalkable if your mouse just so happens to be out of the hit box for the walkable area. Despite how awful this may sound, it's actually not too much of a problem. But it's can be noticeable at times. If there's something you can interact with, your mouse turns into a feather. However since your character needs to be close to that object for the feather to appear, sometimes you may not realize that an object is interactable. Combine that with the occasionally awkward movement, this makes finding interactable items and objects a little harder than they should be.

Another complaint I have is that I really wish Resette could interact more with Gaede. Having them talking to each other in different rooms and/or at different times could have helped develop them or revealed more of their relationship with each other. Their conversations could have been them commenting on the situation or the room they were in. Gaede could maybe even give hints to puzzles or items that should be examined. What happens instead is that Gaede usually just follows Resette, only commenting when interacting with certain objects; or he just stands there and does absolutely nothing until you move onto the next room. This really feels like missed potential.

In terms of audio; there's nothing special for its minimal sound effects. What they have works. Note that the game does not have any kind of voice acting whatsoever. As for the music, this game has a lovely soundtrack. It is very nice to listen to and is probably one of the strongest points of the game. I wish I had the words to describe exactly how much I like the music.

The art is quite nice. The backgrounds are full water colored paintings while the characters are drawn clearly. The two art styles may seem funky at first, but it grew on me. The animations for the characters are pretty weak however. Many of them are choppy, as in they only have a few frames for their animations. This works fine for simpler movements such as walking and running, but it becomes noticeable during the parts of the game where the characters are doing something more important.

It was a short but pleasant ride that had me wanting more. Some parts of the game are rough around the edges, but I enjoyed Resette's Prescription ~Book of memory, Swaying scale~ for what it was.

I enjoyed Resette's Prescription; I liked the story, the characters, and how everything played out. However, just because I liked it doesn't mean I would recommend it. If you're like me who likes the cute characters and art style and are fine with a relatively short and easy point-and-click adventure with a nice little developing story for the given price, then I would definitely recommend Recette's Prescription. It's a good game, but it has some noticeable flaws that keep me from recommending it.

Recette's Prescription feels like an interlude filler episode of an otherwise overarching story, that of which unfortunately doesn't seem to exist; there are several lore elements that are brought up and/or implied, but never explained such as why Gaede insists he's not a cat, and if he isn't, what he really is. The dialogue between the protagonist Recette and her companion Gaede is a battery of comedy that plays off eachother's personalities (Manzai, if you're familiar with that comedy genre). This tends to be prevalent throughout the entire story, even during the darker parts of the story, which unfortunately serves as to disrupt whatever mood the story's tone was going for.

The gameplay is very simple and intuitive, controlled entirely with the mouse and left mouse button. The cursor will change to a feather if you hover over something that can be examined, which is really helpful as some of the objects feel like they need rather precise cursor placement to be clicked on. Fortunately, this is more of a mild inconvenience than a cause for frustration as it only happens at a few points in the game. As for the point-and-click puzzles, they are on the easy side; if you're looking for puzzles that will challenge your thinking, look elsewhere.

As I mentioned earlier, the game and story are very short, and I think that's what this game's biggest downfall is; I took my very sweet time completing it at a comfortable pace in about 2 hours. I got the game on sale, as this is definitely not worth the $13 price tag; Any extra playtime was just leaving the game idle to get the rest of the trading cards. There were several points where the game ran slow on my potato of a computer, especially towards the end; Justified as I just barely don't meet the minimum requirements, but I don't think a point-and-click adventure game of this caliber should require that much CPU power.

If all that I've explained doesn't seem like a reason to not recommend the game, then go ahead and give Resette's Prescription a try. As I said earlier, I enjoyed the game, but I feel the player should be aware of the above issues before deciding to buy it.

I feel bad for not recommending this. You can tell someone put a lot of care and effort into this game but it just doesn't work for me when all's said and done.

Game's very short, some of the puzzles are a bit obscure (and technically awkward to solve when you do know the answer), and the story isn't too amazing.

There are a few decent story bits, the main character and her cat are kinda charming, but this feels like a small part of what was meant to be a larger experience. In the end it left me wanting more, but in a frustrated kind of way. I think the potential is there if they ever try for a sequel, but I can't really give this one a pass.

If you're looking for a point and click style game, you can find better elsewhere.

I really want to play a point & click puzzle game using a moeblob, so i'm more than happy to play this game since this game give me the chance for that. When i see that discount, now is the time for me to play this game

As for some review:
For the puzzle, not too hard, and not too easy (tough there's a puzzle where i accidentally clear it not following the proper route, the game flow didn't break, that's a good thing), so i'm sure most people can enjoy this

As for the story, i have to say i'm satisfied with how this part cleared. The reason why i said "this part" is looking the art... i mean atelier book is, this game actually is only the first part and the creator have planned some story for the future. And looking at the lore of the game's world setting, it such a waste no to be explored further. After all, there's still quite a lot of question left unanswered from this game.

For the control, at least the control is working with not much problem, tough it would be better if they polish the game control more. Sometime you can't adjust when you want to run or not in this game, easily

The game graphic/art is like reading a book, so it's kinda give you unique and cute feeling. Need more work on the animation tough.

Even tough the game is kinda short, the art... i mean atelier book kinda worth the price (tough i'm bought it in discount) but the ost is absolutely worth it. Maybe i have to say the OST is one of the highest selling point of this game.

Well, this game beg for sequel/prequel or something, considering the backstory of this game. I'm fine with whatever genre they bring up for the next game, I'll be waiting for that.

However, considering the price and the lenght of the game, maybe you want to buy it at a discount tough

Quick Points:

  • I found the puzzles extremely easy.
  • I finished this game in under 2 hours (my playtime is higher for getting trading cards).
  • I enjoyed the music and the art.
  • Story felt underdeveloped and was too short
  • Performance was abysmal for this type of game
  • [*]Slightly overpriced for length of content

Main Issues

Story
The cute interactions between the two main characters were nice but begged to be developed further.
I would've rathered the game length be increased by continuing Resette's story. Her ability to enter a person's heart is only used once, but I feel that she could've solved more problems for other people along her journey. I can't help but compare it to Ace Attorney, where this game felt like I played the "first trial" in an Ace Attorney game. Further development could've allowed for multiple short stories of the characters she encounters, while also having her own story for her journey. This felt like a side story to a main game, or the first episode in a episodic game.

Performance
Performance is abysmal for this game (running on i5-2500k, gtx 980, 16 gb ram), but still playable (it is a point-and-click game after all). As it is built off of Adobe Air, this level of performance is no surprise if you've used the older League of Legends client (or played some flash games). Framerate wildly varies; changing the game speed or effects settings had no effect on the performance.
There is also a bug that freezes the game at one point (you need to press "skip" to work around it, so it wasn't game-breaking for me). It has not been fixed at the time of this review.

Gameplay
I don't have much to say about the gameplay, but the main issue relates back to the fact that the game is too short. The "hearts" (indicating your life) are only used at one point in the game (meaning there's only one game-over state). The puzzles are good, but personally I found them simple and breezed through them.
Another aspect that could really be improved is the controls. I know this is a point-and-click game, but I felt the controls would've been better suited to using the keyboard in addition, especially for the action scene. Also, not being able to press enter/space to progress dialog is a minor issue for me.

For these issues, I cannot recommend this game.

I'm really torn about this game.
This game has a very interesting little story at its heart which will grab you if you give it the chance, but the overall game might not be worth your purchase (at least at full price).

So lets break this down:

Presentation

The game starts with a relatively well animated intro with good music.
The soundtrack is really good, at some points almost too good for the barebone nature of the gameplay.
I like the artstyle of the game. The very cleanly drawn characters contrast well with the water-color painted backgrounds, altough on some screens this clashes a little too much.
There are quite a few caveats though:

  • The animations feel very bare-bone. There are never more than 2 or 3 frames.
  • [*] The performance, at least on my system (6 core AMD, 16GB Ram, ATI R7 370), was abysmal. For a game which is only rendering 2D Sprites this is unaccaptable.

The Gameplay - Point and Click and Puzzles

This is a point and click adventure with puzzles so there are no suprises here. The puzzles are very reasonable and everything is very solvable by reading the text presented in the game. I enjoyed the puzzles because they were not frustrating but challenging enough to justify their existence.

The point and click mechanics however, are disapointing. It is not very apparent where you character can move and it can be very frustrating to get your character from point A to B. The cursor will change to tell you where you can go, but sometimes the places where you can go are so needlessly small that it is hard to click them which results in some frustration.
clicking on items from your inventory doesn't feel good and there is literally no feedback if you try to combine or use something, that you are not supposed to.

There is actually still a bug in the game which freezes the game and the only way to procceed is to press the "Skip" button. So long after release you would've thought they might have fixed this.
And even though I did not encounter a "game breaking" bug, there were quite a few instances of items just vanishing from the inventory (glad they were just invisible) or puzzles getting into undefined states.

This game clearly lacks polish and I am surprised any decent game tester could overloock such obvious flaws.

The Story

The story is what keeps this game afloat. It is a shame then, that this game is very short and the real plot is not revealed until 60~ minutes into the game, which is at about half of the play-time. Relating to the characters is hard when faced with not enough screen-time, but the themes the story is dealing with are heavy enough to make up for that.

The Translation

The Translations feels very clunky. I feel like there was a lot of missed opportunity to make the interaction between the cat and the heroine a lot more funny, which would've made the game a lot more enjoyable, especially in the beginning. I was also very disapointed about some key scenes in the story where I felt like I didn't quite get what was going on.

Summary

All in all I'd say this game feels rushed. I really like the concept of the story and would like to see more of it, but the lack of polish, bugs, a slow start and the overall shortness of the game makes it hard to recommend this at full price.

This game has a lot of unrealized potential.

*Game was purchased at 25% off.

It seems that quite a lot of work has been put into the art.

The story itself is written well enough to keep a player interested all the way through.

The music is always fitting of the setting that you're in. It's well done, ambient tracks included. Maybe the mansion theme might get a bit repetitive if you're stuck there for a bit.

The length of the game combined with the puzzles and their difficulties make this seem like, as others have said, a short and interactive movie. Depending on how good you are at puzzles, it may be even shorter. On average, it may take an average player 2 - 2.5 hours to complete.

The game itself seems a bit clunky when navigating in general or double clicking to move faster and has some moments where it may slow down (but slowing down may just be a problem for people with not that powerful computers).
Not so great movement doesn't really affect the boss fight. It's still easy to do while walking and with the game slowed.

Overall, this was a very enjoyable point and click game with great art and story. The navigation is a minor problem (alongside that one skip bug that may or may not be patched) and the length is the only large concerning issue. However, it may be debatable to purchase at full price (or even 25% off if you were not drawn to the game from its description).

Considering most of the game seems to have been made by a core group of only a few people, it's a commendable effort.

Took me 2-2.5 hours to finish at a relaxed pace. It's arguably an equivalent or better deal than buying a movie theater ticket, considering you can play more than once, but some people might have issue with the price and length.

That's probably a good way to describe the game: a short, interactive movie/story to keep you distracted for a night in lieu of going out with friends -- especially if you don't have any friends or hate them.

+ Great art, characters and background. Resette and her cat sidekick Gaede are both cute. However, animations are a bit janky.
+ Music is also very competently done, even if nothing is incredibly memorable, especially considering you'll only have two hours of exposure to it.
+ What few puzzles the game has are fairly enjoyable, even if simple. None of the puzzles really seemed to be of the absurd Longest Journey rubber ducky variety; most items had obvious immediate uses or had sufficient clues in the vicinity.
+ Drops six Steam cards with nice art, although the game's so short that I only got one so far.

- Somewhat slow-paced despite the game's length, and text scroll speed is somewhat slow and can't be changed.
- Translation seems a bit too literal and lacks enough transparency.

I don't have the original script to compare, but it gives that distinct "too literal" feeling. For one, character banter has a number of awkward non-sequitur-like transitions that give the feeling that something was lost in translation. Characters also say things in ways native English speakers wouldn't. To make up an example, something like "Does my face show the expression of being surprised?" as opposed to "Do I look surprised to you?"

Considering the game has few characters and those characters are central to the game, the game might have been more lively, given a better translation. I feel as if moments that should've been touching or moving were lost on me due to the awkward delivery.

Report on Resette’s Prescription
Advantages:
Resette’s Prescription(RP) have his universe and the story is really easy to understand even for me who haven’t a really good level at English.

The combine system is a really good idea! The gameplay is really simple and you enter in the story directly (no long introduce like some games).

The graphics is special but good, the protagonist is endearing and cute, what allow the players to have more pleasure.

The puzzle is not too hard, not too easy, a perfect difficulty! And the “battle time” is really good!(maybe make a life bar for the enemies and more battle phase!).
Disadvantages:
Really short game, you can rush it in less than 2 hours.
Many bugs :
-Clic can pass 2 sentences, not only one.
-at the chapter 6, the game has RAM.
-at the end of chapter 5, after the cut scène, the chapter 6 cannot load.
-at the first puzzle, when you at on the generator before put the things in, you can’t leave the place after.
When you save, you save only the place where you are, for example for the chapter 5, if you have the bug, if you reload it, you reload at the beginning of this chapter (thanks to the “skip” button)
Conclusion:
RP is good but can be much better! He has a good potential what ask to be use!
Great work but work in progress.

A fun simple point and click adventure game that can be easily completed in a few hours, follow the adventure of Resette and her companion as they try to figure out the cause of a illness of a boy passed out along the way. The puzzles in the game were fairly easy to understand, while maybe two of them were a bit confusing. The art style is very nice with a watercolour look and feel to it, a nice game to chill out and relax too. I'm not too sure about the price range on it so i recommend waiting for a decent sale discount for it before buying, however it was enjoyable nonetheless. A good start for people getting into point and click adventure games.
i'd give this game a 7/10, fun and beautiful but quite easy to finish.

In the countless amount of anime visual novels it's nice to see a click and point game. It is probably currently even the only one in existence, at least on steam. I wonder why nobody made one earlier. Sadly as a click and point game, it's kinda basic, also it has less puzzles and more story. The puzzles can get a bit confusing, but if you ever played a puzzle game then they shouldn't be a big problem. I had a nice time with it, but it very unpolished, and compared with the competition it just doesn't hold up.

Negative:
- a very low amount of any sound effects
- the art doesn't really fit together, watercolor backgrounds but vector graphics characters
- there is a low number of animations
- your character sometimes clips throw the environment and even can get stuck
- different types of speech bubbles (neutral, angry, thinking) would have been nice

Neutral:
~ short, about 3 hours
~ dialog options / dialog puzzles would have been nice

Positive:
+ great soundtrack, every scene has it's own music
+ the story is decent
