Hi,
I could not finisch this game because of the terrible controlls, junky camera controls, the amount of dialogue that is keep buggin out forcing me too reload the map to do everything again. The story progresses very slowley. The early game could be quite difficult even on normal difficulty.
The games combat is definitely fun I enjoyed it a lot, the main damage dealer being your skills and auto atacks only refreshing your mana is a great system. The different skills offer enough to go along with group, single damage and escape skills being also damage skills great stuff. Items are basically useless I had a couple of them which were usefull but anyhting else get forgotten in the mist of battle.
The campaign map is unpolisched maps, big maps with almost nothing to explore in them. There is a food resource for some reason, potions also are there I think I saw a couple.
If you look pass all the above stuff and are patient person unlike me, there is a game to play.
A great tie-in for the book.
Story is great, it hooks you right from the beginning
Game play needs sometimes to get use to. Pause button and position of your team is key.

Combat is clunky and sometimes confusing.
And sometimes your guys feel weak,
But the game itself is very fun.
Story is engaging.
And there's dwarfs.
Awesome little game. If I knew it was based on (The Dwarves by Markus Heitz) I would of got the game much sooner.
The "Chase" Achievement tested me patience however.
Great game, I hope they come out with more like this one.
First let's get the negative out of the way:
- A bit bugy, some errors in code here and there that interrupt the fluidity of the game's dynamics
- Once finished it does not invite much to replay
Now the positive:
-The battle sistem requires cunning and strategy over brute force.
-The events require exploring and resource mannaging
-It's a great way to tell an epic fantasy story
In general an entertaining game that can offer some very good hours of fun and wonder

game play, story 10/10
A great telling of the books, really funny and has some amazing moments. Only problem I encountered was the default positioning of the camera, because at times the game decided that the fight was less important than a tree.
I really recommend this, as it is a very fun experience full of typical dwarvish humor.

Boy, oh boy.
I am giving positive to this one, but i am going to be darn' rought with it:
1) it took be about 4 years and 6 attempts to get through the game. I kept on giving up on it so many times.
2) the game can be finished in about 4-6 hours. it is SUPER SHORT (short game about dwarves? that's a grudgin')- aftergame credits took about 30 minutes. In this regard, that is just untasteful
3) How could you make combat weakest part of game that is fulyl focused on combat? There is nothing else in the game - no puzzles, no mysteries. no 'take/find/bring/sell quests'. fighting is clunky. Camera is abhorent. Bugs - sending enemy into locations you cannot reach, having you to take them down with long-range abbilites.... it was supposed to feel dynamic and fluent. But was not. Liteally the worst part of game was the combat system.
4) too many followers, that shined only in 3-5 min of cut scene screentime, but were so unintersting i never used them
5) there were no meangful chocies in the game - non affected end game. It was close to visual novel, for all the choices revolted around either gaining some extra gold or food...
6) gold and food which were all pretty much useless. the shopping system just didnt had place in that game. I had too much gold and too little shopkeeper, selling too limited merchandise, i ended up buying everything - food being conusmed on the go - but items? I close to never bothered using them.
7) huge map, 90% empty thought.
I could go on and on and on. The game feels rushed. The game feels as if all money were pumped into music and voice actors (absolutely amazing. strongest part of the game. really gave life to characters and scenes) which left no founds for game itself.
Then again. Concept is great and pleasant. story is actually nice. it could be easily prolonged, every quest could be spread into smaller side quests. Why did main antagonist did what he did? He gave mini speech at the end, but it wasnt enough! Companion quests - also none.
It was nice story. Nice 'book' if you could say so.
but this price? Never. look for 75%+ sale, and you still might feel cheated on your money.
Prob better if you read the book, but seems to go everything in it at some point or another. game itself seems like it wanted to be more (not more than the books i just mean more stuff in the game), but didnt have the manpower to see it through. Though what they did do made it seem like they cared, and with kickstarter backers being credited, I think its pretty clearly a small studio wanting to do something for the fun of it. As a game I would probably give it a 7, but with the relation to the book I would say a 8.
Also I do not recommend messing with difficulty up or down, it just changes your health values, thats it. so play on normal or easy, very easy makes too easy, hard is just too much of a micro fest that i had to stop once i got to the big encampment near the end because most combat has infinite enemies and it feels like to beat hard missions you have to cheese.
But if you want no issues whatsoever, just read the books, this only covers book 1 of 6. Oh and the deluxe edition book and music are nice.

good game
Camera control is a bit clunky and combat is not perfectly polished, but overall a good and entertaining game with a good story. I bought it on sale and definetely got my moneys worth and more.
The game is decent. Story is good, but nothing extraordinary. I see the potential in the game, but a lot of things need to be improved, if any sequel will be released. I completed the story in 10 hours on 100% and I have only challenges left.
Firstly, I expected something similar to Divinity, but it is not similar in the slightest.
The "fake" open world makes you walk around the whole map and you have some "food", that heal you. While interesting idea, completely bad implementation. You have some unique encounters, but they do not affect story in any way. There was only one really interesting side quest, but there are not many of them anyway.
The combat is quite broken. No free cam, allies can push each other from the cliff, most abilities damage allies, so you can not use them, hard difficulty is broken. I played the game on hard, except the very ending(near volcano), because there no matter what I did, I could not do it on hard.
I bought this for around 5$ on the summer steam sale, woke up at 4AM and started playing until i beat the game later around 2PM, I really liked the story but the combat pathing and targeting is pretty horrible... I just really like games and stories about Dwarves. For 5$ i think it's worth
Wow, I looked at this for years and never bought it and now I got it on sale. I also read the books, what happened to this team. The story is so fun and its relaxing and you get narrative of the lore.... kewl.
After completing it I found the length pretty decent for the amount of enemies and items. I think the last battles could of used a bit more exploring and lore in between instead of cramming them together.
Battle felt clunky until I got used to switching between heroes often, using items and abilities frequently and avoiding friendly fire then I started to enjoy it more.
