It's older than age of empires and it's quite good
Great OG play
Classic! Still an awesome game!
One of the best!
simple but fun game...
Classic game.
I have been playing this game for 26 years and still find enjoyment to this day!
is a good strategy and tactics game
You have to hope that by luck you avoid natural disasters long enough to get started, then odds are you simply get overwhelmed by the enemy. No strategy whatsoever. The battle scenes are impossible to control, and the game speed settings are either way to fast or painfully slow.
great
I have played this game since I was 5-6 with my grandpa with many fond memories back in the day. Despite it's age (1996) the game is both easy to learn but it can be complex with some aspects. The controls are super basic, the army types make the game very interesting, and the random events can greatly affect how a game goes for the player with multiple rounds of Black Death or something making it very rough. All in all for the game being nearly 30 years old it is still super fun, addicting, fairly easy to pick up, cheap, and it runs well. Definitely recommend this timeless classic!
Great for nostalgia!
Love the battles.
The greatest game from 90's iv found! My dad played this when i was a little kid , and i hope my kids gets to try it too
This is a cool old school game. It can be difficult so you have to be patient. No cheat codes are available.
sconsiglio a tutti STEAM. Ho comperato i miei giochi ma non posso più usarli visto che il mio computer ha windows 8 e quindo non posso più scaricarli sul mio computer. Praicamente dovrei cambiare il computer anche se non ho un euro perchè loro hanno deciso cosiì
Great classic game that still holds up. AI is actually smart and difficult to play against on impossible setting.
Simple, classic "empire building" game. Gather resources, manage counties, build castles, conquer neighboring counties, build armies and defend your territory, all in a medieval setting. Great soundtrack and narration. Just really fun if you're into this genre.
This game is better than Civ VII will be. and please do yourself a tremendous favor and listen to the OST. It's one of the best games to simply let your heart out and play, I can get really emotional while playing this. It's simple, it's perfect, and this game is a reflection of god fighting entropy - it is nature in its purest form. My Lord.
Played the first one in 1994. Loved it. Thought they could never top it. Then they did this in 1996.
Yes, this is one of those games you can give your children and tell them this is how it started. This is a timeless classic that still has not met its match.
good game
Great Classic game, easy to learn and fun tactics for war.
Good old school game.
A classic game that i've played since it first came out.
orignal 1990s game (simple by todays standards) not to complex to play. but, hours of easy going fun.
Land/Kingdom management as well as medieval combat! Grated the game is a bit dated in terms of graphics, but you'll spend delightful hours with this fun throwback to late 90's games.
the amount of nostalgia was well worth the price. and amazingly it still holds up well even today. shows how deep games were then, compared to how flashy yet shallow they are now
Blast from the past. One of the first games I played after building my first computer.
I remember playing this back in the day on CD-rom and thinking it was a great game. When on a steam sale its a no brainer. Its nostalgic but actually still a good game and fun to play. The AI is obviously 20+ years old, and the fact you get a 256bit graphics notice when it opens is fun, but it works well even on a modern computer and still takes thought and challenge to progress.
This is easily the best entry in the Lords Of The Realm series. I remember being really attracted to the box art as a kid in 1996 when big-box PC games used to adorn shelves at the store. Being a fan of King's Quest, I would take note of the Sierra logo. Very soon after getting my first Windows 95 PC in December 1998, I picked this game up in a bargain bin for CAD$10 in early 1999. I still enjoy playing this game decades later. It's a classic, and I would buy it again if it was remastered, or if another worthy entry was released. (Lords III doesn't live up to this one.) Recommended.
"Slaughter these villagers?"
This was such an amazing find!
So long story short, I have been looking for this title for years without knowing the name of it. . . I played it when I was six years old at a friends house and absolutely loved it.
Now finding it 28 years later I have fallen in love with it all over again, just cleared the first map last night and looking forward to the second one tonight.
If you have not ever experienced this gem it is well worth $2.99
Classic Turn Strategy with live action medieval battles.
fun old game
Another medieval gem from the 90s with great sound effects! Long before the Total War people perfected the turn based-real time combo in a Medieval setting with Medieval:Total War and Medieval:Total War 2, there was this gem. I can distinctly remember looking at the siege battle screenshot on the box at Electronics Boutique in Bay Brook Mall and being sold right away. Video game retail was different back then.
This game had it all in those days! It was my first love affair with RTS and turn based strategy games and I fell in love immediately. It's worth it to complete the campaign maps for the Monty Python-esque goofy song at the end, truly a monumental accomplishment for a young male adolescent circa 1997. The music and sound effects are among my favs! I can remember joking around with the voices of the characters in this game with my friends and getting the best results when I imitated the macemen in this game: "Ready my Lord!" "We'll crush 'em!" but I always liked the knights "Yes my Lord?" "For honor and Glory!" and other phrases like "No problem 'guv!" It got the point to where one of my dear friends at the time would often greet me by saying "Welcome to Lords of the Realm 2" He often liked to imitate the archers: "Archers ready," "Of course, sir," and often told me he liked how they sounded like old men.
These character/unit voices stand the test of time today and were even better back in the day.
The more you know about English history and Monty Python the more enjoyable this game will be. Contemporary players will note the early combo of RTS and turn-based-build-your-base and multi-unit combat as well as the CD-Rom that made all this possible on the fossils that we were playing these super-duper-advanced computer games on, back in those days....;-)
I played this nearly 25 years ago and I still like it for the nostalgia.
A blast from the past really fun game that i come back to from time to time i would recommend
One of my all time favorites that I continue to come back to. I really wish they would remaster it into HD!!!
Very Fun turn based Classic
It is a classic. Worth it!
Classic that plays 100% like it did when it came out.
a great old game
Really enjoy this game!
Great game. Great memories.
classic economy game
love this game
Very good retro game, simple but effective strategy game, the battle simulation is very simple, but it is very addicting
Old School
20+ years later & I'm still losing 10/10
dope game
