very addicting to this day with mods
i have some of the other civilization games and CIV III is still the best one of them all in my opinion I Still play Civ III more then the others just hands down more relaxing and fun to play
No, I don't want to describe anything. It's just good okay
good game, better if you learn how to use the edit program. Almost as good as civilization 5.
Predatory EULA changes to gather all sorts of information and store, sell and do whatever they want with them. No choice but to accept or lose the game that you bought. I didn't accept that when I spent my money, I will not accept now.

This game has an intence learning curve, but with a little help from my dad and a lot of help from reddit, i can now safely say that this game is amazing.
p.s. when units are prefroming their moving animation DO NOT click, this will cause your game to crash.
best game ever
Holy heck, what the crud have I gotten myself into?? I have fond memories of (at least attempting) to play Civilization when I was younger but maybe that was Civilization IV..? There is no tutorial for this game IN game - apparently you have to either meticulously read the instruction manual (I bought this on Steam, clearly) or watch YouTube videos (of mixed quality and scope). I feel like I'm going INSANE trying to decipher what I'm even staring at. I would gladly sink HOURS into this game if I only had a clue what I was even DOING turn-to-turn. Cannot recommend.
A true classic this is, in my humble opinion, the best of the CIV games! Sid, take a bow me old mukka this is awesome
Probably my 2nd favorite civ game over all... Has an excellent Fallout total conversion mod on civ fanatics
Very Nostalgic but also very approachable to newer players
The classic game that cannot be beat.
A perfectly good way to waste many hours of your life.
This game is pretty good, however it is also very buggy. I would recommend you search up Suede CivIII on youtube to assist in fixing the present bugs. Also if you have a newer PC or monitor please beware that this game can mess up your steam's open location off to the right of your monitor. For fixes consult Reddit posts or Suede CivIII on youtube. Otherwise when this game works it is a masterpiece and I would recommend it highly it to anyone with a few spare dollars. Just make sure look that fella up on youtube, he has tutorials on how to play aswell (this game teaches you nothing). 10/10 would recommend.
I love the fact that you can play this game over and over again and it's challenging each time. The game play is so addictive that you can suddenly find that the sun is coming up and you started playing 8 hours ago. It is a tough game but there are so many variables. Graphics are not that good but that doesn't take away from the game play. Some games you play, complete, and never return to again. This game is something different.
FYI: My hours in Steam for this game are not my real hours, I played this game since I was a kid around 2004 and had the CD, so take that in consideration when reading this review.
Best Civ game ever made, even today with less features than recent Civs, it is still more addicting, more rewarding and more challenging. It also doesnt have the cartoonish artstyle on the rulers like in the new games and that for me is a plus! The game overall feels more like a boardgame and the civilization traits and special units actually matter and are not some passive modifiers that you will forget in a few hours or not always have in mind. Wonders also have a real value to get ahead in the game (specially the Pyramids) and they are really worth building.
The only con in this game is that religion wasn't a feature yet, which is one that I enjoyed in new Civs, other than that this stays my favorite game.
Don't let the old graphics fool you, this is a masterpiece.
Picked up this game 20+ years later and still as good!
I love this game; almost 25 years since I first played it, I still find myself coming back to it multiple times a year. It's deeply flawed- the balance between different units and leader traits is terrible, the AI blatantly cheats, all sorts of now-standard QoL elements are missing (why is Joao always "Annoyed" with you? The interface won't tell you, and it doesn't matter because all of the AI can and will declare war at random). None of that detracts from this being the only Civ game where it feels like a dynamic, living world, with real empires and massive battles, without being bogged down in so many options and mechanics that late-game turns take an hour each. I wish there was an option to just observe the AI play entire maps against itself- it does a better job colonizing land and keeping matches lively than any 4x opponent before or since. It's also like two bucks on sale, so just buy it if you have any interest at all in the genre and haven't experienced it before.
The Classic Civ, I still play, always have... what? they have new civ. games now? you mean those games with the Octagon map tiles? No Thanks, I will stick with he best,
Classic. Been playing for 20 years, never gets old. Now my kids play.
This is a little old school but the game logic is brilliant. The interactions between empires reflect human behaviour and the gradual introduction of technologies is spot on. Very enjoyable game to immerse yourself in.
My favorite of the Civilization games. Still has the best history scenarios of all of them.
it is a good game and i am a meth addict and i recomend meth too
classic gaming not too fake and over programmed
While somewhat simplistic, due to its age, this game is a good general way to comprehend how cultures develop and evolve. Also, it's a lot of fun.
The OG Civ game of the franchise but i could be biased as i was there when he came out lol. Really needs a Workshop so all those timeless mods units etc could be uploaded, endless play then.
THE GAME IS HARD but fun.
Great game with a few quirks. A cargo plane option would be handy to load likes of artillery and settlers into and helios. If resources(gunpowder) aren't available them should not be able to build units eg TOWs .
Otherwise most makes sense. Selecting multi bombers to bomb would be great too. Enjoyable
good game
it is a good starting civ the grapuicks are not great but it gets the job done.
Been playing since CIV 2 and boy I wish I could play it as well. I miss the video actors giving advice. Having Spock give me advice is special in its own way.
Great strategy game. Several ways to win. This is version III. Check out version VII...
It's great. Much better than CIV 7
Good fun
love it
wayyyyy better than any of the new Civs. Really good soundtrack too
its agood game always loved this one. has trouble loading sometimes but is good
Just to help out anyone who also had issues at first. I couldnt even see the original intro movie. Turn that off asap. You should also go to the *CONQUESTS/Civ3Conquests.exe* file and put it in comaptibility mode. I am using XPwSP3. I also use high scaling DPI so the game is in widescreen (though not the city menu).
I bought this mostly for the nostalgia as I have played Civilization since the OG on my Windows 95 machine. I will warn newer players though that the game mechanics and principles behind Civ have evolved a ton since this game was made. To win at any kind of difficult you must expand expand expand. More cities always better. Even your corrupt city which makes no gold is better than none.
Excellent old version of the game.
Where is first and second
The updated version puts the Player at a major disadvantage against ANY ONE the AI uses. You lose your armies at a much faster pace and you cant build them fast enough.
The best version of early Civ
Game doesn't run as it should (when you start a new game the screen goes black after building your first city).
Carthagio Delande Est
And all other Civs while we're at it
this game makes me squelch
I'll recommend this game from the standpoint that it was so fun in my youth. But I caution that the game in this day in age is tough to play given how much graphics and UI have improved over the years
This game is dated, but I still enjoy it. There are issues where a spearman will occasionally beat a tank. You can get steamrolled easily on high difficulties. I enjoy certain aspects of army stacks, but the systems that replaced it are much better. I have over 1000 hours off of steam on this game. Great game.
It was back in mid 90's that I start playing this version and for me, it is the best one.
-America keeps getting angry because my workers are entering their land while building roads.
-America says they must leave or risk war.
-Declare war.
-Destroy all but 3 of their cities.
-Offer peace in exchange for all the gold in their treasury and New Orleans.
-They accept.
-Peace.
-2 turns later capture their second-last city.
-Offer peace in exchange for all their gold.
-They accept.
-Need 2% more land to secure domination victory.
-My mechanized infantry roll into Atlanta and are greeted by Spearmen and Archers.
10/10 would be bully again
not as good as civ 2 imo but great
Игры похожие на Sid Meier's Civilization® III Complete
