The graph is OK but actually kind of weird (I think they are from real person's picture cuts), however the fighting part is great, both intensive and satisfying.

Only one problem in my mind: need more female fighters.

Poorly thought out meme game. Annoying lanes lock you into fighting only certain groups of enemies, and enemies are really bad about coming after you. They'd rather wait in whichever lane you're not in, grouping up such that they can strike you if you try to hop over to join them.

This beatemup has blocking for the obvious reason that enemy encounters are designed for mashing. Spacing and orientation are less of a priority than filling up the screen with enemies, many of whom can ignore hits of your attacks or strike outside your range. The first hit of enemy attacks stuns you, for which there's a "counter" button that forces enemies away. The result is a button-mashing experience where it doesn't feel like skill matters much. I personally find beatemups of this type, or that exist only to mash buttons, to be a boring waste of time.

The UI is trash. Specific coloring is used to illustrate some differences between unit types, but the same coloring could mean friend or enemy when applied to different enemies. This is really poor visual communication. In general, the photos feel less like a stylistic choice and more a lazy route as nothing really interesting is done with it. The photos, especially for the cameo characters, are here as a joke and the joke is lazy.

The specials and dashing are easy. That's about it.

A fun Guardian Heroes style beat em up (but better)

This game is amazing! I don't understand why no one is talking about this game. I randomly found it by looking for games with that photorealistic character style, like Mortal Kombat. I thought it looked like it would be silly fun for a bit, but it actually turned out to be a really great game! There are so many characters, and they all have their own move sets. And I was finding new moves and combos all the time. And the humor is great. Highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of beat em ups.

You get to play as the Nostalgia Critic so by default its game of the year every year.

I first awarded this game 200/100. however upon deep contemplation I reasoned that since it had Nostalgia Critic in, I ethically had to dock 100 points off its score for a measly perfect 100/100 ... okay, fine - 1,000/100. gakatu.

it'd have been fine if this were a banana meme game, which it is, but then those weirdoes went and added shockingly fine brawler combat in there also. the mad lads and mad ladies.

if the ridiculous, insane awkward look was ALL THERE WAS I'd have said my money was pretty well spent. but that there's really a game here too is kind of amazing. FACT = this is a more satisfying brawler than the Ninja Turtles top-down 3D thing they put out recently (though not the side-scrolling 2D brawler, that game legitimately kicks ass).

though I do have to say that having +100% Nostalgia Critic content than all other games I've played is just not a great thing for me. even his waiting animation pisses me off. but hey, that's just me, and we do what we can.

this game looks like I always thought the live-action arcade games from the '90s would look like in the future and PLAYS like I never thought any game would ever look like, ever. this is a good thing. gakatu.

Come back in 10 years, stranger.

I and my non gamer girlfriend had fun playing this game together. It is silly and entertaining!

🥖 Didn't expect much, but this game isn't only good in its genre, but also HILARIOUSLY good! Obviously inspired by «SoR», but has enough of its own mechanics. Only two campaigns, but there are additional modes and plenty of unlockable characters with unique skills. Despite the cuts in animations, they are smooth. The music is nice, but the locations are quite similar. Considering the price on sales, it's awesome and better than some indie beat 'em ups. And where else you'll see the Nostalgia Critic with Jesse Pinkman fighting in the streets of France?

Man I wish there was a game where I can beat up people on the streets while being Nostalgia Critic.

This game is so fun. But underneath the hilarious animations is a solid beat em up game that keeps you playing. Above all it is a huge fun laugh along friends.

Extremely competently made but the characters are boring to play and look at.
Some interesting costumes on some actually skilled martial artists doing more interesting moves would have gone a long way.
