About the Game
The Old Tree is a puzzle game. Your objective is to escort a microscopic alien being on its way and clear any obstacle that might be hindering its progress. You'll visit fantastic locations and meet curious creatures on the way towards a mysterious destination.The game uses no words to relay its story, and requires no specific language skills to play.
Compared to the original release, version 2.0 includes the following enhancements:
- Compatibility with any full screen resolution up to 1920×1080 (on higher resolutions the game will be centered on screen)
- Added a full screen toggle HUD element
- Greatly optimized rendering performance
- Added a new puzzle in the air ducts level
- Made some interactive objects easier to see
- Slightly increased maximum frame rate
- Minor graphical improvements

This is essentially a Flash-based hidden object game which tells the story of a newly hatched alien baby making its way into space. Gameplay is neither interesting nor difficult: it consists of solving simple puzzles by clicking on the right things, sometimes at the right time, in an environment that is occasionally too dark to distinguish some of the things that should be clicked on. Be prepared to spend some time clicking aimlessly/randomly, as the the game offers no indication as to the way forward.
That said, The Old Tree recommends itself with its beautiful visual style, and a curious, strange and otherworldly environment. Despite the lacklustre gameplay, there's still a satisfying experience here. Overall, it's a nice way to kill 15 minutes, especially if you're looking for something out of the ordinary.
Short game at less than 20 mins. Would recommend for younger children and someone that has only a few minutes to kill waiting on their other to get ready. Cute. Not much story or difficulty.
This is a nice little point and click game where you have to clear the path for a little alien baby. It really is incredibly short. It took me 15 minutes and I think it would have taken even less time if I'd been able to click on some of the areas more easily. It's also quite dark which is a shame because the graphics are rather nice.

It's an alright game. Everything is really dark, which makes it hard to see anything on the screen.
Short, easy, pretty. Good for relaxing. Kids might be able to play, but may need some guidance due to the abstract nature of the game. Without a clear stated goal at the beginning you really don't know what's going on or what to do or even how to progress. For a short, straightforward game like this that's okay. Be curious. Click around. See what happens.
Visually the game is beautiful, but to get from point A to point B was extremely easy. Besides that, the game is really SHORT.
This game is too short to really enjoy, and there needs to be an option to increase the gamma. I had to mostly click blackness hoping to find the right objects.
Short was no joke. Its pretty and has easy puzzles. Nice to pass to time. I wish I had more tiem to protect my lil alien baby

A short point and click puzzle game with an ambient setting. It was fun and for free.
It is a good game, but it is short and the edning is ok. It took me seventeen minunets ,but it would took less time but i did get stuck on one puzzle. So if you are looking for a short puzzle game it is pretty goo

Game was more like an experience than game and sometimes that is what i really want.
Only minus was that it was really short and it has no saving system.
Simple, quick, and art direction is great.
As nice as the atmosphere and art is, the game isn't worth playing. The game takes about 10 minutes to play through, although even calling it a game is a bit of an exaggeration, considering it takes about 20 clicks to get through it. The vast majority of the game is just watching the creature slowly crawl to the next thing to click. I'm willing to forgive a game being short, or lacking depth, especially considering that it's free, but this isn't even worth the time it takes to download.
tldr: Not a bad way to pass 10 minutes + It's free, No reason not to play really.
Pros: The art. The whole thing is pretty cute.
Cons: Pointless white-noise music, the screen is dark most of the time so you can't see the objectives you're frantically clicking on.
And you'll be frantically clicking a lot.
The puzzles are too easy as well.
You click things, watch an alien baby crawl around in the dark, and click things until the game says it's done. There's not really much to this game.
Looking to pass a few minutes? Sure play this game. It's free, why not?
Want a game with even the slightest bit of substance? Move along, this feels incomplete.
Short but beautifully presented tale of a baby alien starting out on its journey of life.
Simple puzzles, no terror, very relaxing.
