You will buy this game or I will launch Aerial Torpedoes at your house.
They locked me in a hangar. A design hangar. A desing hangar with low funding. And low funding makes me cut corners.
(tf you mean its mandatory to have a medbay aboard?)
It's good. Really, really good considering it was built by one guy. The core gameplay loop in conquest mode is infinitely replayable and rewarding. Squeezing every drop of efficiency into your airship designs is awesome. The battles are exciting, especially when you shoot down an enemy who plummets to earth and takes a few of their guys down with them.
Issues include a fairly poor UI. It doesn't quite offer the information I need when I need it. Some menus are hard to find, such as the spy interface...I'd rather have an 'Espionage' tab rather than hunt all around the map for the cities I currently have spies in. I wish it was easier to see which technologies you had already researched, as they look a lot like those you haven't in the menu. Also removing techs from a queue is a feature that should be added...not just start a queue over from scratch if you want to swap out a tech once you've already built a queue.
One other specific but confusing thing is the 'Civilization' names...they are named after their first major city, but if they capture an additional city, and lose their original namesake city...you will get messages like "Tuppington has declared war" even though Tuppington is no longer associated with the empire who just declared war on you. So you must remember which _color_ empire Tuppington used to be...and then find _that_ empire to figure out who you are actually at war with.
But light criticisms aside, I loved this game. Buy it and support the guy for doing a great job.
For a game that's made by one guy, it is nothing short of a masterpiece, which is made even better by its DLC.
You get to build your own units - be it airships, ground vehicles or buildings - block by block, adding colors and decorations as you see fit. It's probably the one game i've played (besides maybe Stellaris) where i've REALLY felt that my faction is truly my own.
There's also a lot of 4X elements, and while conquest is still a very valid strategy, there are other ways to win the game, such as diplomacy, or completing cultist rituals, etc.
I cannot recommend this game highly enough. It's been my go-to comfort game for a while, where i'll sometimes just relax and refine my ship designs.
Get the DLC too, it's absolutely worth every penny.
Torpedo go boom, troop take, moon chunk? Doom.
What a delightful game to play. I had a really good blast for the first 20 hours or so however I quickly got burned out and bored. The DLC is really needed as it brings so much more content and events to the campaign.
I sort of wish there was a bit more content—which is kind of tricky to say because there is so much. Something feels missing but I'm not really sure what specifically..
Overall I will definitely be spending a lot of time with this game and hope the developer continues with it!
8/10
Airships, landships, and towers, What more could you ask for? but seriously this is such a well made game and if you want a hearts of iron lite mixed with a very good vehicle builder then you have it here. GET THIS GAME!!!
The ship building mechanics have an amazing about of depth and nuance, while the variety of weapons and tactics keep things fresh. A great game for builders, artists, and optimizers alike.
I love Airships conquer the skies, probably the best 2d game ive ever played and for its price its a steal, wish they added naval combat though
Good game, asked me to review so I did. Played earlier, still playing. The kind of game I want to make someday if I can. Support this guy.
This game is an absolute blast. It incorporates the features of modern strategic warfare into the looks of an older game with artwork that is unique. I purchased this game a while ago but I had always wanted it since I watched Lathland back when it was still in early access. This game has a lot of nostalgia for me, and frankly I believe it to possess it for any and all who wish to play it as well. Anyways, gotta go. These Turtledoves won't kill themselves
i love this game, the mutiplayer community is lovely and nearly always ready for a match, even after so many years
never trust no sheet armor
she ship on my air till I
I really like this game, but It runs very poorly. Even on smaller maps you can expect your FPS to slowly go into the single digits.
quite possibly one of my favourite games of all time.
it's simply a masterpiece for anyone who enjoys games about building vehicles, especially in this side-view style
10/10
A game that really lets you create and dream so many different things - the satisfaction of designing and refining a ship is so immensely and eternally enjoyable. This game has a ton of depth if you want to engage with it, which truly allows you to come with some crazy airships. It can get pretty granular if you want it to be - stuff like aerodynamics, or ammo travel time are all taken into account when a ship is designed - you can make a perfectly functioning ship without looking at these things, but they're cool and beneficial to look at.
The game either takes place in one of two ways - the conquest mode, where you are managing an empire and expanding your fleets, managing your income, relations and defenses across multiple cities OR there's the free play modes, which is just put stuff together. There's also multiplayer! I personally enjoy the conquest mode, as it forces you to improvise with your budget - some seriously sketch ships produced on a budget have driven me to victory many a time. Super fun game if you like designing shit, highly recommend.
I exclusively play the campaign, and am enjoying it. The ships, land units, and land defensive buildings all offer module arrangement in the manner you prefer, offering an especially delicious outlet for creativley minded gamers who might similarly obsess over efficiency and effectiveness of designs. While campaign expansion is not especially challenging on the lower difficulties, I am finding that the AI can still present some surprises, especially with the monsters turned on. The game offers enough customization that you can self-curate the experience you desire. Yes, the graphics are what they are, but if you can get past that this game is an outperformer.
its just fun dudes
This game is incredible!
If you're a fan of Conquest-Map gameplay, you'll absolutely love it. The game offers plenty of replayability, with diverse technologies that create unique gameplay mechanics. Want to build a fleet of Gatling-armed ships? Go for it—they’re surprisingly effective! Feeling like channeling the might of the US Navy? Assemble a fleet of aircraft carriers. Or, if you’re inspired by WW2 Germany, dominate with an army of overpowered tanks.
That said, the game isn't without its flaws. There are several areas for improvement. The controls could use significant refinement, and the auto-resolve feature has its issues. For example, it doesn’t seem to account for ammo supply. On numerous occasions, I’ve managed to defend cities because attackers ran out of ammo, yet the auto-resolve declared a “Major Defeat.”
One of the game’s most rewarding aspects is the excitement of researching new technologies and upgrading your units. Designing a ship from scratch—balancing your budget and maximizing your tech—offers a satisfying challenge that keeps you coming back for more.
Give this game a shot; it’s worth every penny!
Good game, big box blow up other big box. Me me brain very happy
御剑飞行重炮流
gud geim
There's a lot to love about this game but the hidden gem is the Conquest mode, which as an indie game puts the conquest modes of some other, bigger games to shame.
Airship go conquer the sky, be very fun.
Really good.
I'm Surprised more people aren't talking about this!!
Airships Conquer the skies is a combination of From the depths design and hearts of iron 4. Very well balanced with fun mechanics.
This is the kind of game I can get sucked into for hours and have no complaints about.
I would highly recommend this game to people looking for a simple strategy game to learn with a high skill cap and low learning curve.
There isn't much to desire personally. I only have 10hrs atm and I just completed my first conquest. I would like to see bigger maps or more content in the future but as it is this is easily going to be one of my most played games
Worth every penny!
i like makin the airship and conquering the skies and then making the landship and conquering the ground
I have enjoyed this game. very fun ship building.
Rocket go wroom.
if i have to say i (REDACTED) love this game mainly because of its vehicle building and creative world sure it can be improved like giving land ship combat a peruse besides just existing. If i have to say id give it 10 areal jelly's out of 10
I love blowing things up
Absolutely amazing. Build your own airships. Die in your own airships. Sniff suspendium. Inhale suspendium. Drink suspendium. Fly. Fall down. Kill a big flying whale. Kill a big flying turtle. Send an entire squad of marines to board another airship only for them to fall to their deaths because they're moronic. Etc.
Airshimp
refreshingly respectful of the players time and rewarding and deep in surprising and satisfying ways

GET THIS NOW OR ILL FIND YOU (in minecraft)
Super fun and detailed little mix of highfleet style action. Lots of love and care put into the smallest little animations and a good bit of fun with a quick and easy multiplayer setup.
Such an incredible game, the customization of the ships and details never gets old, the universe is interesting in it's design from Dragons to Giant Living Plants and the Conquest mode continues to grow and change making it the best mode in my opinion. This game continues to grow and shows so much promise.
Do you like to create your own tanks or ships? Do you love stuff blowing up?! Get this game!
Great mix of strategy and design and building. Cool weapons and tactics too.
Its so much fun, and incredibly addictive. Its awesome.
Very snazzy I dream of the day we can sail the high seas but till then I guess Il have to settle for the land and the skies.
fun and lovely
One of my all time favourite games, I started playing A number of years ago and have continued to play on and off throughout the years. A great game to play to pass time and relax.
The game is not demanding on your computer either, I can run it flawlessly on my shitbox laptop and for what it takes to run it looks great.
The discord server is quite active and there is a good community, The developer Zarkonnen is often responding to queries, issues or just general topics and sometimes implements suggestions made by the community.
Overall I've played a lot of this game and I'll play a lot more before I'm tired of it.
If you're someone who enjoys customisation a bit of strategy and conquest games I'd definitely recommend you give it a try.
Top 3 games of all time
ymmy good
This game is a lot of fun. Build your own airships and then conquer the world with them! Has a lot of different weapons and possible ship designs and options.
Fun game if you like games that let you design the vehicles you fight with. Also the developer has been continually updating this game since it entered early access in 2015, I'm a sucker for that level of dedication even if the realisation it's been 9 years is a little bit horrifying.
