A PC port of a mobile game.
Don' be fooled by the casual graphics, this game can be hard at times. You will need to play some levels several times and come up with a strategy to do things in the right order.
Generally hits the right dopamine beat as you clear paths through the maps, without annoying ads or microtransactions.
Not a long game, but a great deal if you can get all 3 games on sale
Oh boy, I really like to do the same thing over and over for 60 levels. Didn't even bother to finish the whole thing since it doesn't even have steam achievements and some of my playtime was just idling to get the cards.
TL:DR: Hey, it's currently (as of the Steam Summer sale) 49 cents and you get 5 or 6 hours of fun out of it.
Extended review: One thumb up. It's a basic time-management game. 60 interchangeable levels, and while you can't get gold on all of them without paying attention, you can easily get silver. No glitches and it works fine under Windows 10. No plot, no hero characters and no achievements, so knock off a thumb if you need those things; this is a pure puzzle game.
Great casual time-management game where you order your rescue team around in repairing the devastated land. You also get to repair and beautify your weather ravaged home. Also the start of a long series with obvious staying power. What more could I ask?
Love this little Gem great way to wind down and relax and the game is not expensive i own the whole series now !
It is fun to build and repair homes. The game is never boring. Also you get to rescue people!
This game isn't bad it's just inferior to other examples of the same type. 12 labors of hercules is the best i've played in this genre and it costs less. On top of that i keep getting lag in this game, not sure what it is but it costs me precious seconds in a timed game. I am not saying do not buy this game just merely that if you buy it, it should be the tenth or twentieth type of game in your inventory not the first or third. Also buy it on discount or in the bundle, as at $5 it is far too pricey.
Absolutely LOVING this game so far!
I completed the demo a few months back and patiently awaited this game to hit its common fifty cent price tag. Zero regrets so far and it's been worth every penny. I recommend it to those looking for more time management games to play. It's a classic that holds up really well even to this day.

Entertaining. This is a time management game. 60 levels. Simple graphics and music. No story here.

Overall, the game is kinda simple. The levels are not too different and are mostly easy. The game is, of course, timed but is not unfair, so the game is very casual. It's very cheap and worth a few hours of your gaming time. Not the best of the genre, but not as poor as others. Middle of the pack.
It's so fun to play, every level feel different and it make you think about what tactic to use. The sound and graphic is well done. First time playing this kind of game and it's very refreshing to me. It's a great for a 2011 game.
As far as these types of games go, Rescue Team isn't as good as most.
The difficulty in getting gold varies wildly per level. You could hit a nearly impossible gold in the first 5 levels, then level 10 be easy as pie, then level 11 is hard as nails. That's just to get gold, not to complete the level, which is overly easy.
The juggling aspect of the game sometimes leaves you with no option but to wait. These type of games are designed good when every move is planned out and following that path leads to constantly sending your workers out to clear the paths. Some levels accomplish this very well. Other levels will leave you scratching your head.
The "object" of the game is to rebuild your house. As you complete levels you get money: $1,000 for silver, and $10,000 for gold. So not getting gold really hurts. Either way, when you get enough cash you can fix one part of your home. However, there really isn't any logic as to what to fix. It's kind of a pixel hunt to see what area of your home turns green. Also the object feels very arbitrary. Why does it even exist in the game?
The final blow for me was the lack of Steam achievements. I got close to 20 levels in and hit a randomly difficult to gold level. I was on my 3rd try, my helicopter was going to rescue the last person, I had time left, but that darn helicopter takes so long, even with the speed boost, I still failed, literally half a second from getting gold... for the 3rd time mind you. And suddenly I thought, "Why am I even playing this game?"

Rescue Team is an enjoyable time/resource management game and the first game of the series. You collect resources, repair buildings and roads, and remove debris. You also rescue the residents. It's a fun game and you should get it if you are a fan of the genre.
This game really got me hooked as soon as I started playing it. It's a short game (took me around 6 hours) but o so fun to play through. The whole family actually likes this game (except the baby to be honest). A small little management game that was so fun I bought parts 2 and 3 immediatly.
Thumbs up! I’m not a big fan of beating the clock in time management games, but you can ignore the timer and just play through the levels. I did like the rescue concept. I think it’s an interesting variation. In this game, you’re not really building stuff. Instead you are repairing stuff, so in addition to structures that produce food and gold, you can repair the helicopter pad and have a helicopter pick up stranded people and put out fires. Another plus, there were no intruders that needed to be clicked on repeatedly to drive them away.
A terrible natural catastrophe happened and your team is sent to repair and save people!
Rescue Team is a time management game, where you have to achieve objectives per level, with a higher bonus if you finish it before a certain time.
Workers can collect ressources: food, wood and gold. They can also repair buildings. Some of them are producing these ressources: diners give food, sawmills give wood and houses give gold. Others are objective. Finally, you have docks and an helipad. Docks are used to save people or to collect floating wood or fish (costing gold) and helipads to save people (yep) and to extinguish fires (against... gold). They can also repair the roads or remove obstacles. If you need more workers, they can be found sometimes trapped on the map.
The goal of the money collected by finishing a level is to repair your own house.
The game is very enjoyable but also challenging as sometimes, you'll be really just in time if you're aiming for a gold statue. It's due to the fact that workers, once they did an action, return to the base, which isn't allowing planning ahead. Each second lost by this simple fact is important. And it's probably what annoyed me the most. I'm so used to allow to plan the next action and to have my workers go directly there (Elven Legend, 12 Labours of Hercules, Gnomes Garden or Weather Lord allows that and as they're the time management games I've played, it's normal that I'm used to that kind of gameplay).
The graphics are also colorful and nice. It's like being in a world without darkness... even if some levels are under a thunderstorm. The soundtrack is also nice.
Rescue Team is a little enjoyable game: the gameplay isn't very complex (it will evolve as the series is at number 7), the price is more than correct, anyway, while I prefer other time management games (like 12 Labours or Weather Lord but they're also different in terms of gameplay while being similar in some aspects), Rescue Team is a nice entrance door for those who want to discover the genre.

An oldie but goodie time management game. Rescue Team is a tad repetitive and misses some convenience features, but the fun level design makes up for some of the shortcomings.
Long version:
Rescue Team is a typical time/resource manager with the usual mechanics: use 2-3 workers to collect resources, and then spend them on various level goals—mainly road work and reconstruction, expanded with a little rescue and firefighting to match the title.
An interesting bit to note is that the game is so bent on standard mechanics that even the resources follow the old food/wood/gold trio. There is something funny in repairing a highway with timber or collecting gold bullions as a rent from an apartment.
Although most casual games nowadays try to include some kind of a story, Rescue Team 1 was made in an era where this was not prevalent, so do not expect any plot. Expect some nice time management levels instead, where each stage acts as simple sequence puzzles: find the correct order of collecting the resources, so you can advance further into the level. Since the workers move fast and production buildings can keep up with the spending, the game has a great pace that easily can result in a “just one more stage” situation—which, thanks to the 60 levels, may last for a while.
A very well done time management game. Most levels are pretty easy to beat at the highest level your first and certainly your second try, but there are a few difficult levels in here. Everything looks good, runs well, and if you like time management games, you'll definitely get your money's worth here.
The first in a series of time and resource management games, Rescue Team 1 lacks a little functionality compared to the sequels, the biggest one being that you can't queue jobs. Each job requires one worker (on rare occasions, more than one) and the worker needs to be in base before they can be assigned. This leads to button mashing to assign the worker as soon as they return, and when you have multiple jobs and multiple workers, the click fest makes the game a little more frantic than later entries in the series.
That said, having recently beaten Rescue Team 5, it was nice to go back to the original title and see how the games have progressed.
Despite showing it's age a little, the graphics, sound, and level design in Rescue Team 1 are all still strong. The game still held my attention long enough to gold all levels, and even though the later games are more polished, if you are a fan of the genre, it's still worth checking out.
The Rescue Team games are among the best ‘casual strategy’ games. Don’t be fooled by my almost none play time as I played them previously outside of Steam. There has been a chain of disasters and you manage a team of rescuers (Duh!). There’s a ton of levels to play and a variety of actions to do like building houses, rescuing locals, putting out fires, exploding stuff, repairing buildings etc. Each game has 60 levels spread out in three parts. Each part has a different theme and setup, like having a port and a rescue boat, rain and thunder, different background etc. The graphics are cute, sound is okay and music is non-intrusive. All the levels have a tiny map and are short, around five minutes each. They do seem extremely simple at first but getting all the gold ratings is challenging and will take you some time. I highly recommend them!
If you are looking for a challenging time management game, this is a great one for you. It's older - the graphics, achievements, and celebratory ending leave much to be desired. Also YOU CANNOT QUEUE UP TASKS. You have to wait until a worker returns to the home base before you can assign him elsewhere.
But the levels are HARD to meet gold time. I found myself replaying levels over and over again because unless you do it perfectly, you don't get gold. I appreciated that after playing several other very similar games where winning was super easy.
So if you want a challenge - go for it! But know this is an older game without many features you might be used to if you play these games often.
